We have been coming here once or twice in the winter for years. The guys are absolutely nice and super super service oriented. We always feel very welcome :) and probably the most important thing: the cheese fondues are all absolutely delicious. Really always a highlight, looking forward to next time!

I absolutely loved it!! The atmosphere, the waiter, the fondue it was all amazing. I suggest the fondue with the dark beer one. Much much better than a classic one. Trust me, it works and it’s not overwhelming. The potatoes with rosmarin was absolutely my favorite for a side.

Yesterday we were guests at Gärtnerplatz Alm. It was a great evening, the restaurant is small but nice, very lovingly furnished and easy to reach by public transport. The staff was super friendly and very accommodating. The huge cheese pot and the accompaniments did the rest for a perfect taste experience. Followed by a freshly conjured Kaiserschmarrn. Conclusion: We would like to come back to try out the other cheese variants.

Very friendly service, reservations are recommended, the cheese fondue was very tasty, but the bread that went with it was unfortunately of the baked frozen roll variety. That's why it was too heavy in the stomach too quickly and devalued the fondue. Unfortunately, €30 per person is really too much to ask for. With a decent sourdough bread it would have been worth the money.

It was simply a picture-perfect visit: We were warmly welcomed, had a romantic table, the cocktails were perfect and the food was very, very tasty! Finally, a fantastic schnapps on the house - what more could you wish for? We'd love to come back!

Absolute recommendation! The prices are a little higher, although one can now almost speak of standard prices. The service was incredibly nice and quick. Only the bread was forgotten and arrived a few minutes later - everything was human, but at the end we got a schnapps (or espresso) on the house! The food was also amazing in terms of taste and quantity! In less than an hour we went from sitting down to paying without feeling rushed. 10/10, gladly again.

Beautiful restaurant with the best cheese fondue outside of Switzerland. Service also friendly and accommodating. Everything was perfect and we look forward to being guests here again every time. Be sure to reserve early!

Very nice evening, nice little restaurant, a bit noisy with larger groups. Food was excellent and the service was top. The homemade herbal lemonade and the homemade fruit schnapps are really good.

We were there on a Tuesday in December to eat cheese fondue. The restaurant opens at 5:30 p.m., our reservation was at 6:00 p.m. We ordered cheese fondue for 3 people and to be honest, there wasn't enough cheese for 3 and a bit too expensive per nose. I'm not sure if the portion for 2 people contains the same amount as the one for 3 people?! It was also a shame that there were no mushrooms as a side dish, but there were some in the grilled vegetables. It was only when we asked that we were told that the mushrooms we had ordered were no longer coming and that they would be taken off the bill. It was very tasty, we will come back and definitely try it again with the mushrooms 🤭

We took the provincial variant. Our tastiest cheese fondue we've had. Make your reservation on time because it fills up quickly. Highly recommended

Nice atmosphere but horrible demeanor if you don’t have reservation (even though the restaurant was empty). Embarrassed at the door like they couldn’t believe we would have the audacity to walk up without a reservation. There are too many good places nearby to waste your time here.

What a great experience! We were there yesterday and were looked after very well from the first moment. The food is incredibly delicious - cheese fondue at its best! The four of us shared the dark beer and the herb cheese fondue. Luckily there was still room for a Kaiserschmarrn at the end. All around a wonderful evening. Absolute recommendation!

Great location near centrum. Friendly and welcoming service. Excellent cheesefondue - we had their specialty, made with dunkel bier. If you want fondue in Munich, I recommend Gärtneplatz Alm.

Good place for celiacs, they have a gluten-free bread option and they take care of allergies. Very good atmosphere and very pleasant and attentive service!

We were a group of 18 people. We didn't think the price/performance ratio was appropriate, especially since the food really wasn't anything special. Anyone who has ever eaten a really delicious fondue, for example in the Swiss Alps, knows what I'm talking about. The Kaiserschmarrn was more like a fluffy cake cut into very large pieces! But the hammer came at the end when the waitress asked us to do it! at least 10% of the total sales as a tip on the grounds that this was agreed upon in advance (which of course is not true)!!!! After we had already tipped €100, the waitress complained again that it wasn't enough and that we had to tip even more. In the end it was € 120 tip for average food, no special atmosphere and arrogant staff!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!

We were thrilled by the service, the ambience and especially the “Provencal” cheese fondue. The fondue prices are per person. The Kaiserschmarrn deserves an applause. One star deducted because the price for cheese fondue is a bit overpriced in my opinion.

Used to be our favorite fondue place in munich. Went couple days ago and ordered the classic for 2. It was outerly tasteless. Music was terrible as well (90’s pop) and what we paid in total was a rip-off ($150 total with a tip). Avoid it untill they put their cheese fondue recipe together / in order!

A visit to Gärtnerplatz Alm has now become a tradition for us. The cheese fondue is great & there is more than one type to choose from.

We had a lovely group night tasting different type of cheese fondues. I would recommend the classic one and the dark taste one. They also offer different wines you can pair with. The interior is like a typical hut so don t be disapointed by looks, the fondue is really tasty.

I ate at Gärtnerplatz Alm this evening and was thrilled! The waiter was extremely nice and attentive, which made the evening even more enjoyable. The dark beer fondue was really great. Can highly recommend this restaurant!

Just went in with the restaurant half empty. We were two people. The guy told us there are no tables without reservation. Yet, once outside I could immediately reserve and did so. Not planning on showing up.

Food was amazing, but the portions are truly big, so do not over-order

We were there on Saturday and found it highly recommended. Our actual reservation had to be postponed and the service team handled this situation very professionally. The food was very good, both the starter, fondue and dessert. We would definitely recommend the “Provencale Fondue” and the Champions as a side dish. The Kaiserschmarn is a must. The only drawback is that it is very narrow and the benches are unfortunately not that comfortable to sit on. But this is offset by the good food and the nice service. Conclusion of our visit was "There is no such thing as too much cheese, just a stomach that is too small" 😊 We will definitely come back

The atmosphere is good to very good, the service is super fast and friendly. Unfortunately, the good-looking cheese fondue doesn't suit my taste... when I order a cheese fondue, I expect classic Swiss-style cheese fondue. I'm not sure what was made here, but the cheese was somehow very airy and thin... not intense in taste either. Either you try to offer a variant for everyone or you save a lot on cheese. I was very disappointed with the food. Overall, it was a successful evening thanks to the atmosphere and the great service! Thanks to the operators / owners!

The ambience and service is good. However, I would have expected more cheese flavor from the two different fondues. The bread that came with it wasn't particularly tasty either. The side dishes were quite okay. But at €25 to €30 per person (only FONDUE + bread) I expected more in terms of taste.

Delicious traditional fondue. Intimate atmosphere and nice quick service. Was a little hard to get a reservation here and needed to book many weeks in advance.

Everything was great, lots of cheese and lots of bread, very nice people. The cocktails were phenomenal, especially the Aperol Sour, the Blackberry Hugo/Spritz (I forgot) was pretty good too. You should make a reservation

Very tasty cheese fondue! The service was also very courteous and, upon request, gluten-free bread was even served - at no extra charge (the cheese fondue is also lactose- and gluten-free). At the end there was a schnapps on the house. We can warmly recommend it and would be happy to come back!

Absolutely wonderful. The food is so delicious and quality, and the service is great. This place is perfect.

The place is quite small (around 15 tables for two, some can be combined for bigger groups), reservation is absolutely necessary (the next available slot for us was in ~3 weeks). Inside it's getting quite loud due to the bigger companies chatting, so don't expect any kind of relaxed atmosphere. It was our first time trying fondue. We decided to try Provence one, which seemed a bit more interesting than classic. It goes with a big basket of bread pieces and a small plate of pickled vegetables. Also we ordered potatoes and mushrooms. I think the potatoes were a bit too much already, so probably just one extra for 2ppl should be good enough. The cheese consistency is very interesting, it's like liquid, but getting harder very quickly. It sticks to the bread really well. The cheese taste was a bit too strong, I also was able to taste some alcohol (and my gf had similar impressions later in the evening). But anyway it was an interesting experience and we have finished the plates. Though I do think it's very overpriced, it just isn't worthy of basically 60 euro for the fondue alone. Thus, minus star. And another minus goes to the service. There is just one waiter who serves everyone, looking into the phone and answering some calls in between. We have ordered the dessert as well, so after finishing the fondue we're sitting for more than 10-15 minutes waiting for anything. Though it took them quite some time to even notice us and remove the plates from the fondue. After 10 more minutes of waiting we decided that we're too full and it's even better for us if they forgot about the dessert. So we asked to pay, the waiter hasn't said a word about the dessert. They really forgot it -_-. Bathrooms are really used, old and ugly looking, also smelly. As a bottom line, it's still an interesting experience, but I wouldn't recommend the place and wouldn't go there again.

Beautiful place and great atmosphere

Our absolute favorite restaurant! For several years now, my husband and I have been going to the Gärtnerplatz Alm to eat fondue, as there is no other place that offers such fantastic cheese fondue. Normally it tastes best at home - it's definitely different here! These are also available alcohol-free upon request. But the meat fondue and the side dishes are also impressive! The service and the employees are top. There has never been anything to complain about here.

We had a really pleasant experience while dining there yesterday. The restaurant is small and cosy, and you feel in the middle of the swiss alps as you enter. We had the Classic, Provencale and Dunkel fondues (we were 6) with the potatoes, tomatoes and ham. The food was excellent 👌. Good quality/price ratio Negative points: - It is hard to get a table: we booked the table 2.5 months in advance - They only do two services: 18h00 and 20h30 - The side portions are small - The bread is notnthe best

The staff was incredibly unfriendly and no one in the group tolerated the food and we all got sick. I absolutely can't recommend it!

Das Fondue ist sensationell. Wir werden auf alle Fälle wieder kommen wir hatten dort ein Firmenevent. Ein bisschen Schade war, dass wir erst das eine Fondue aufessen mussten bevor eine weitere Sorte bestellen konnten. Einige wollten kein Trüffel. Es wurde aber erst eine andere Sorte gebracht, als Trüffel schön aufgegessen war. Dennoch - Super Essen, tolles Ambiente. Auf alle Fälle geht’s da nochmal hin

Sehr sehr lecker! Tolles und nettes Personal. Auf Anfrage (mind. 1 Woche davor) sogar glutenfreies Brot möglich 😍 gibt aber auch genug brot freie Alternativen zum Fondue! Man merkt dass sie sehr auf die Zufriedenheit der Gäste achten.

This place is amazing! Everything we ate was delicious. The fondue was delightful, the smoked ham was delectable, the pickled veggies were perfectly pickled, and the rosemary potatoes were divine. The atmosphere is extremely intimate and cozy. Our waiter was delightful, and he navigated our conversation in English and German. He even offered to help read the menu (because it is only in German). We were delighted to be invited for schnapps. We were given their house made hazelnut schnapps, and it was amazing. If you're ever in munich, I highly recommend trying this place.

Awesome place to enjoy fondue: three different cheese options as well as a normal fondue with broth was more than enough when I went there with my colleagues for our Christmas dinner 🥘 The service was really good and we enjoyed the night with some red and white wine. The only thing I’d like to mention is that it gets kind of loud the more people are having dinner. But not much what can be done about it. Overall, can really recommend coming for dinner.

If you love cheese fondue, this will blow your mind. I frequent Munich and this is a must-stop on every trip. It is the best I have ever tried, and the service and atmosphere are top-notch. This restaurant is simply, perfect. I recommend making a reservation.

Gemütliches, uriges Restaurant mit einer überschaubaren Anzahl an Tischen. Die Fondues schmecken toll und sind von der Menge her gut abgestimmt. Wir haben uns anschließend noch einen Kaiserschmarren geteilt und waren froh nicht noch eine Vorspeise genommen zu haben. Am besten hat mir das Dunkelbierfondue geschmeckt, dazu die Rosmarinkartoffeln. Der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Reservierung auf jeden Fall erforderlich. Mitte November war bis Weihnachten so gut wie alles ausgebucht.

Gärtnerplatz Alm was amazing, in every way. We went for brunch with some friends and were so well taken care of, from start to finish, it felt like we were eating with family. Highlights of the day were the burrata salad, spinach and feta quiche and cheesecake dessert.

Bestes Käse-Fondue in München! Vor allem das Dunkelbierkäsefondue ist der Hammer. Das Ambiente ist super gemütlich und der Service sehr schnell und freundlich. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder!

Yummy cheese fondue and a quaint ambience to pair with. The fondue varieties are quite nice, I especially liked the Italian one (with the tomato flavor) as compared to a French one (mostly herbs and wine).

Leckeres Essen und schneller, freundlicher Service. Das Käsefondue in Kombination mit Weißbrot und Brezeln war perfekt. Einen Besuch sollte man rechtzeitig planen und auf jeden Fall reservieren, da sie oft lange im voraus ausgebucht sind. Gerade für ein romantisches Abendessen sehr gut geeignet.

Eines unserer Lieblingsrestaurants, in das wir vor allem zu besonderen Anlässen gehen. Sowohl das Käse- als auch das Fleisch-Fondue sind zu empfehlen. Unbedingt Salat und Rosmarinkartoffeln dazu wählen!

Es ist echt nicht leicht, hier einen Tisch zu kriegen. Der Laden bietet aber auch nicht wahnsinnig viel Platz, daher wenig überraschend. Aber das kreative Konzept war dann doch zu verlockend. Was mich etwas überrascht hat: ich bilde mir einen, einen italienischen Flair wahrzunehmen. Passt irgendwie nicht ganz zum Namen, aber stört auch nicht, denn die Aperitifs und Weine sind gut und preislich fair. Als Vorspeise hatten wir ein Brotzeit-Brettl. Super lecker, aber auch recht viel - gerade wenn man einen Käsefondue als Hauptgang nimmt, kann man da fast darauf verzichten. Ich empfehle nämlich eher Beilagen zum Fondue, sonst ist für meinen Geschmack der Käse zu krass intensiv. Der Kaiserschmarren war eher okay, für meine Begriffe zu Ei-Lastig und hätte ein paar Rosinen vertragen können. Ansonsten: sehr netter Service und zum Abschluss einen Schnaps aufs Haus. Kann man machen, muss aber nicht jede Woche sein

Tolles immer weiter zu empfehlendes Lokal, wenn's um Käsefondue geht, sollte sich Frankreich auch mal einen Tisch reservieren. Ich war begeistert. Tolle Speisekarte und schnelle und sehr freundliche Bedienung. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. Danke, Gärtnerplatz Alm für den schönen Abend.

We were here before the pandemic last, its offers fantastic cheese vondues, I am very happy it survived. Its small but pulls it of well, even with every table occupied it doesn't seem too crowded. Went there with a pram, called before to make sure if it was OK and they were very accommodating. Highly recommend.

Super netter Service und ein wirklich richtig leckeres Käsefondue!! Unbedingt reservieren, da der Laden immer voll ist. Zum Abschluss gabs noch selbstgemachten Haselnussschnaps. Eine absolute Empfehlung!
