Poseidon in München

Thank goodness it's not some fancy Greek restaurant! Good food, friendly service, and consistently high quality for years! They really value attentive service; we always feel comfortable and welcome here. Thank you!

Delicious and inexpensive food and top staff!

Anyone who loves Greek food will love Poseidon. Large portions at reasonable prices, and the grilled liver is divine. If you're really hungry, this is always a good place to go. Very friendly service; we go there regularly, whether it's the one near the Botanical Garden or the one at Leonrodplatz. I was at the Poseidon at Leonrodplatz yesterday, December 23rd. The food is just as good there 😋👍.

We ate here 14 years ago on our first date. We even came back to Munich for it. We couldn't make a reservation through the website… (it's 2025, after all!!!). Nobody answered the phone. Once inside, they told us it was full. The people behind us in line, who also hadn't made reservations, still got a table. The server didn't know we spoke German and had an excuse to let the others in. It's really disappointing to be treated like that when you're so looking forward to something. It completely ruined our weekend trip!

Octopus salad = a jar of fake pickled fish spilled on the plate, not even the industrial oil was removed. Greek salad = white onions instead of red ones, 1 olive, fake feta, all full of vinegar. It certainly pleases German tastes, but the only thing Greek about them is the Google category.

The food was quite good, and the atmosphere was very nice, albeit simple. The staff weren't particularly enthusiastic, but they weren't unhappy either. The friendliness and directness seemed rather short-lived. Thank you, I'll gladly come back again.

The best Greek restaurant I have ever visited. Greated by a friendly face, the owner brings about uzo to start the night. The food is traditional and on point, everything they brought to the table, mousaka, salads perfectly seasoned, grilled sardines, taramas, roasted lamb with many variations and the list goes on. Sorry no pics, too busy eating 😜. The meal was finished by another uzo on the house. Just perfect.

For meat lovers, this restaurant is simply fantastic. The meat is incredibly delicious, the seafood is superbly prepared, and the portions are enormous. Honestly, I've never tasted such flavorful meat. Highly recommended!

Very good Greek restaurant, family atmosphere, excellent value for money

We had calamari salad as a starter and grilled calamari as a main course. It was very good. The staff was very friendly. Everyone wished us bon appétit. We just wished there had been a little more time between the starter and the main course. We hadn't even finished our starter when the main course arrived. But otherwise, everything was great. We'll definitely be back. Thank you!

A simple but nicely furnished Greek restaurant right on the main street. We stopped here before going to an ice hockey game. (We're from a completely different part of Munich.) The service was friendly and always available if we wanted to order anything else. The food was good, nothing special, but definitely tasty. I can recommend it.

The price-performance ratio is perfect, the waiters were very attentive but not intrusive. The food was absolutely delicious, I would definitely go back and recommend it to everyone.

Delicious Greek specialties. Large portions at moderate prices, even at lunchtime on weekdays. Parking is difficult, though. Outdoor seating is available in summer, but it's located on a busy main road.

We spontaneously decided to have lunch at Poseidon with our daughter today. She lives nearby and has been there several times before, telling us the food is excellent. She wasn't exaggerating. The service and food were top-notch.

I've been there four times already and would love to come back. The service is very fast and accommodating; if you come during off-peak hours, they take their time, and you sometimes even get a free appetizer. Everyone has enjoyed the food so far, and the quality is impeccable. The portions are very generous and, by Munich standards, reasonably priced.

I ordered gyro calamari to go and was unfortunately quite disappointed. The dish only contained four very small and rather unloved-looking calamari rings (looked like they were frozen), and the gyro itself was unfortunately very dry. For the price, I honestly expected better quality.

It's almost always quite busy, but the extremely attentive chef always finds a spot. The food is delicious, but usually way too much. The service is alert and professional. No rush, no fuss, no fuss—everything seems effortless. The staff is friendly, quick, and yet discreet. We look forward to the next time!

3.5 stars. Food good, service leaves a lot to be desired. To-go cups for coffee would be good and side dishes like rice could be a little more.

I can’t believe how incredible our night was here! We came as a small group to celebrate a birthday, and we were able to try a variety of amazing dishes. First off, the food was absolutely fantastic, and the portions were more than generous. We ordered a mix of warm and cold mezze plates, as well as a meat platter for two, and everything was full of flavor. But what really made this place unforgettable was our outstanding waiter. He had such a warm, welcoming personality and truly made our experience special. Not only did he surprise us with complimentary ouzo shots, but he also took such great care of us throughout the evening. We all felt completely at home the entire night. We can't thank him enough for making our celebration so memorable! Also thanks for the greek wine ❤️

Poseidon leonrod is the PLACE TO BE! Invest your money in super food and not savings by Sparkasse! We are two friends, 44 years old / young, had an incredible dinner with wine on 25.03.2025. I had dorado fish von Grill with vegetables and he had a gorgeous huge musaka. We came from the food (wir sind vom Food beide beim Tisch gekommen). Incredible service by the waiters, they are fast, notice many things and place people in the right places. music is not loud and the light is not too dark or too bright, optimal. In case you order too much or can't eat all, the waiter offers to pack your food and take with you. Very nice positive active waiter, young man, light brown hair Poseidon leonrod is the PLACE TO BE! Invest your money in super food and not savings by Sparkasse!

For many years, the Poseidon on Leonrodstrasse in Munich has not only been by far the best Greek restaurant in Munich, but this restaurant is in a league of its own. Gyros were delicious! Friendly staff, enough distance from the other tables and not like in a herring can! First there were ouzos and garlic bread - very attentive! You don't necessarily have to make a reservation for Mondays at 6 p.m. ;)

Today we were in this restaurant, we celebrated a birthday, since there were a lot of us, we tried to order a variety of dishes so that everyone could try, I want to compliment the cook, it was very tasty, everything that was served was excellent!! We really enjoyed it , the grilled liver was delicious, chicken, salad, potatoes with sauce, I won’t even list everything, I definitely recommend it, there were 8 of us and everyone was happy, great We ate, talked, I will recommend this restaurant to my friends))))

We were in Munich to see a doctor, then we visited a Greek restaurant. Based on the positive reviews, we decided on the Poseidon restaurant. It was a very good decision, we can confirm the many positive reviews. Everything was super tasty, very tasty tzatziki and calamaris that you rarely get anymore, excellent. The service is also absolutely top, very friendly and accommodating. The price-performance ratio is great, you can get really tasty Greek food here at a great price. Great lunch menu card. Keep it up, if we're in Munich again, we'll come by again. Absolutely recommended, if I would give it 10 stars too.

For me this was the best Greek restaurant in Germany, which couldn't be more authentic. I have Greek relatives and I know what I'm talking about. The food is 100% authentic. Tasty without a lot of frills. Exactly how it should be! Today we had sheep's cheese as a starter and also pepperoni, all baked. Of course, and gyros with rice and a salad. It was just really really tasty! You don't need to know more. Go and see for yourself. It's worth every cent! Oh well, the house wine is highly recommended and the Uzo on the house anyway 🙃
