Garam Masala in München

Innegablemente el peor restaurante de Munich (probablemente el peor que he visitado en países como Estados Unidos, donde vivo, Francia, Países Bajos, Singapur, Suiza e India). Quisiera llegar a decir que Manpreet es una persona positivamente racista - al menos en su conducta con los clientes indios (y más ampliamente, asiáticos). Su grosería también era evidente para otro cliente alemán en una mesa vecina, aunque su apatía parecía más dirigida a la clientela india (incluidos otros dos que estaban almorzando al mismo tiempo que nosotros). We've eaten here before and it's always been good - this time too there was nothing wrong with the food, but unfortunately there was nothing wrong with the service. There were four of us and we obviously didn't order enough for the service because we had to wait a long time for everything and there was no greeting from the kitchen like before. But it just so happened that my girlfriend can't eat that much after gastric surgery, so why order more? But what bothered me/us the most was the reaction to my request to make the meal without coriander because I'm allergic to it (no joke, it's been tested and I react to it with stomach cramps, fever and even fainting - unfortunately I've had it all). The waiter laughed at me and said, “Yeah, yeah, they just don’t like coriander.” Honestly, even if that had been the reason, I would have liked a little more respect. In the end, despite the tip, we didn't even hear a "goodbye" and I don't think they will ever say goodbye to us again. It's a real shame because the food is good.

Exquisite, top-tier cuisine paired with a relaxed and inviting ambiance. No blaring music, just the perfect setting for conversation. Courteous and attentive service enhances the experience. An ideal spot for a refined family gathering or a heartfelt reunion with friends. Highly recommended.

Elegant, also conceivable for business lunches. Spicy is really spicy. Food phenomenal, try the chef's specialties. Very large vegetarian menu, including meat, but with less choice. Come again

So many Indians have tried it and no one manages to get close to this oasis. Everyone is measured by it, but so far it seems hopeless to reach this level.

We became aware of the restaurant through good Google reviews. We recommend not going there. Firstly, the waiter forgot our order and asked again after 45 minutes what we actually ordered. When the food came, mine had nothing to do with what I had ordered. It had zero aroma or taste, just absolutely spicy, even though it wasn't even in the description. When you sell Indian food, you shouldn't just serve whatever sauce was on hand. There was also a hair in my drink. After paying €62 for really lousy food, we just wanted to get out of the restaurant quickly.

We had veggie pakora, veggie khorma and roti, with a mango lassi. Everything was super delicious! The service is friendly and quick. Feel free to come back at any time

I've been to multiple restaurants (including Indian) in Munich and this one is the worst. I believe this deserves a far lesser rating, it might be 4.5+ because there are no frequent visitors and the owner would probably be deleting the negative reviews. Visit only if you want to spoil your mood, before fulfilling cravings :)

Great restaurant in munich I had chicken vindaloo and asked for it extra hot, it was very good The naan breads were the best we've ever had, keema naan and chicken naan were lovely, good service too.

La espera hubiera sido buena si la comida era buena... nos sirvieron carne de cordero biryani con cuatro trozos de cordero que tampoco se cocinaron bien. La cantidad de arroz para biryani era tan baja que ni siquiera era suficiente para una persona. Los precios son exorbitantes en comparación con la cantidad y calidad... sus alemanes que podrían ser engañados por la comida india... pero como indio... solicitan no visitar o visitar bajo su propio riesgo...

Very bad experience with food, i ordered rice for one person, they without tell me give me 1 bowl and cut 1 rice for person mean double price of rice, also Services is very bad, both manager and Kellner didn't respect mine and behave rude, they are behaving with disrespectful with indian people, they don't allow water from outside, I don't know so i take out from my bag and he shouting on me and threat me, all people are listening this very bad behaviour. Terrible Experience – Rude Owner, Horrible Service, and Low-Quality Food I rarely write reviews, but my experience at this restaurant was so bad I feel. The service was awful—we waited forever to be seated and the staff was uninterested. Poorly presented food to arrive. The owner was rude when we drinking water he was threatening for not drinking water, offering no apology and becoming defensive. The food was bland and tasteless, especially for the price. Even we ordered the rice and waiter served 1 small bowl of rice like for 1 person and then he charged double (2person) price for one plate. I won’t be returning and recommend you avoid this place.

I visited this restaurant when I first moved to Munich. My friends had told me Indian restaurants here provide complimentary rice along with any subzi. Me and my wife decided to try this particular restaurant after recommendation from a colleague. Our experience was horrible. Staff was not well behaved and even though we ordered two seperate dishes, they did not provide rice as complimentary. I had to order Naan as well as rice, which ballooned our bill and at the time of payment, staff was looking at us like they achieved Owners award. I have never been to any Indian restaurant afterwards. I wish Google had Minus,r which could have been appropriate for this restaurant. Update: Owner tries all the tactics to delete negative reviews

DO NOT GO HERE!.. READ REVIEWS!!! Unprofessional and Unwelcoming service, especially the short guy in spectacles was very disrespectful. That's no definition of Indian hospitality, so, it's NOT an Indian restaurant. The entire time we were there, we clearly saw how he was licking after the Europeans, while not entertaining Indians/Asians at all. It truly hurt me as an Indian, that such a "Zameendar" mentality of being "a pet for the white" still exists after 77 years of independence. Anyway, the food and ambience was not great either.

When you see a mouse walking on the railing of the ceiling, you instantly lose appetite. This is a safety/health hazard, don't eat here.

Good location. Food was fine. But the server gave me a menu and when I was ordering, he told me those 3-4 pages are outdated - so they should fix it!! There was just one server - and he seemed overwhelmed. Asked for a lemon, and he seemed unhappy about it. Food tasted fine. The lacha paratha was a disaster. Quite heavy dough and it wasn’t flaky

Had an excellent meal here, very tasty, decent prices, good service and good beer. Portions were generous; dal, chicken and naan all excellent. Definitely recommended.

I am not really the person who comments on worse about something, but this restaurant made me do it. I would say that if you are an Indian don't even think about going here. It will make you feel uncomfortable, unwanted, judged and even slighty feel like your ex treated you better. It was one of the worst experiences in my life. The waiter and owner were racist, didn't even care about me and my husband, took order after a really long time, and when the food arrived just kept it on the table with such nonchalant behavior which just makes your mood go off. I would say if you are looking forward for a nightmarish and hellish experience from a restaurant this is the perfect place. The food portion was so less and the starter vegetable Garam masala that we ordered has still uncooked batter which ultimately made me lose faith in all the aspects of the restaurant. If you are an Indian, and If you think my review is a hyperbole of reaction, then all I can express is my condolences for the evening and wasted money that you are going to spend for the evening. Take care and please don't go.

The restaurant is late in serving orders and the atmosphere is crowded

Usually, I don't post reviews on Google. Seems like this place is extremely racist. My wife and I went to this place for dinner, and we were seated immediately even without reservation but the waiters didn't even acknowledge us at the table, only catering to the foreigners. We got our menus 15 minutes after seating and they took our order 30 min after getting our menus. We were very hungry and it was a very bad experience. Wouldn't definitely recommend it if you are Indian.

An absolute disaster! Service was subpar - neither greeting, request, thank you nor farewell so friendliness = grade 6! No napkins, the napkin for the flatbread was dirty and the quality leaves a lot to be desired.. 😐 Definitely not recommended! 🙄

Would not recommend this place … but hats off to germans patrons level of patience .. even after not serving food for 2.5 hrs everyone was very calm. We went in at 7 pm and till 9.30 we were served just half of our ordered … we have to cut short and leave as they goofed up the order .We has seen people just waiting for more than half hr . The wait would have been good if the food was good … we were served mutton biryani with four pieces of lamb which were also not cooked well . The qty of rice for biryani was so less that even its not sufficient for one person. The prices are exorbitant as compared to quantity and quality … its germans who could be fooled for indian food … but as an indian … request not to visit or visit at your own risk …

I went to this resturant after reading all the positive reviews even though there are plenty of options for Indian food in Munich. Unfortunately my experience did not match the reviews I read and what I was hoping for. The food quality is just about OK, the best part of my meal was the wine which was German. More than the food the staff was most disappointing as they lacked basic courtesy towards a customer, they were quite crude in their Outlook and were more interested in getting rid of the customer rather than making sure that the customer is satisfied. I will not be returning here for sure.

Staff are hopelessly overwhelmed, which affects the atmosphere in the restaurant. After 1.5 hours (without getting anything to eat or being asked for more drinks) we left the restaurant. So unfortunately I can't rate the food.

Thank you so much, Garam Masala, for the most delicious Indian food ever...just steps away from where we stayed. The flavor was so dense, the three of us were really very impressed. We had the duck Vindaloo curry, the Achari Alu Gobi Tikka and the Batak Tikka - just phenomenal!! We highly recommend this place! We ordered to go. And we had some yogurt at home, which mellowed the spiciness. (You always have to have 5% fat greek yogurt, or similar, with indian food!!) And we had a 2022 Meisterstueck Gewuerztraminer (from winery D. Bender of Eschbach, Pfalz - delicious, by the way!!!) which went absolutely perfectly with it. We very highly recommend Garam Masala, just steps away from Viktualien Markt.

Garam Masala has a pleasant atmosphere and offers a wide selection of Indian dishes. The dishes are really tasty and full of flavors. A small point of criticism is that the halal dishes are offered on a separate menu and there is a decent surcharge for them, which I find a bit of a shame. The service was friendly and attentive. Overall, a lovely evening and I would love to come back!

We had just landed from Australia and wetr super hungry! The food was absolutely outstanding. We ordered the dal tadka, bhindi sabji and some pulao, the dal felt like it was home made from India. All three dishes were great. The owner Manpreet also had a very pleasing demanour. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone seeking tasty Indian food

Tuve una Madras de Pollo, fue perfecto. Como debería ser, muchos niveles de especias pasan gradualmente. Si no te gusta la comida india, te sugiero que vayas a otra parte.

The restaurant is rather smaller but very nicely decorated. The food is also very, very good and is served on a platter.

Zero stars ! Do not bother to go ! Bad service, waiters , cooks were fighting amongst themselves,food was mediocre , zero quality of service. Wanted to complain to the owner personally, however felt a bad review on google would be more effective .

Food was good. However, several red flags. 1. Our party of 6 visited the hotel for lunch when it was completely empty. Despite that, the waiter was extremely rude. He did not entertain any questions about the food or ingredients from us. 2. It was extremely hot and the restaurant likely to save money did not turn on the AC. Would not recommend visiting... Poor experience. Food was good.

It was more of a chance visit, but we'll definitely be back! The vegetarian samosas are delicious and very pleasantly seasoned, not too greasy. The Alu Chana Masala and Hariyali Murgh were very tasty and plentiful, so we were able to take an extra portion home with us. Fast and friendly service. And centrally located, but somewhat hidden on the side street {Radlsteg} between the valley and Viktualienmarkt.

I wish I could give 0 stars. First of all, the food is overpriced and tasteless. It looked like they served a 2 days old meal after putting it in the microwave 🤢. After we were done eating, they tricked us by saying that the price of food is different on each day and we had to pay 6 euros extra just for that. When we asked about it, they turned extremely rude and one of them started abuaing us. I usually don't write reviews, but for this one, I had to! If it was possible to give negative stars for service and food, I would have done so. We ordered Biryani, and the portion was insufficient for even one person. Additionally, it was clearly not fresh. The service was equally disappointing, with no sense of hospitality.
