Very good kitchen but relatively expensive.

Food wasn’t quite my forte. Meat was rubbery and gave me food poisoning. Unsatisfied with my care and very disappointed.

Unfortunately, it's more of a fast-food restaurant, and the smell of a deep fryer is very strong as soon as you walk in. Not my thing.

Really delicious Korean BBQ. The service is polite and fast. We lacked nothing. Just keep in mind that your clothes might smell a little afterward because of the table grill.

I only wanted to order 400g of meat. However, the manager selected a meal deal without asking me. When I pointed out that I had only ordered 400g, he said, "Yes, but it's only 6 euros."

Recommended for foreigners. Not recommended for Koreans. If you miss Korean restaurants, go to Düsseldorf. If you must eat in Cologne, go to Hankki. Hankki tastes just like Korean chicken. This place is a German interpretation. Even if you order bulgogi, you won't get any side dishes, so... it's already out.

We reserved a table online for New Year's Eve 1.5 months ago and received confirmation. This has now been cancelled with the explanation that everything has been fully booked for months. Unfortunately, this is very unprofessional and disappointing.

Friendly service, but significant weaknesses in price and preparation The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, even though communication was sometimes slightly hampered by language barriers. The four of us had a barbecue and opted for two of the set menu items. The portion sizes were quite generous, so we were satisfied. Unfortunately, the value for money is not convincing. The prices are not commensurate with the quality and preparation offered. This is particularly evident in two areas: 1. The meat served was clearly thawed and had to be cut into bite-sized pieces by us. 2. The "grilled vegetables" (€13) proved disappointing. The vegetables (mushrooms, leeks, spring onions, bell peppers) were only roughly halved or quartered and also required further cutting at the table. An unpleasant feeling crept in towards the end of our visit. About an hour before closing time—we were the last customers—we got the distinct impression that we were no longer welcome, so as not to disturb their closing preparations. In conclusion: Despite the friendly staff and quick service, the shortcomings are too significant. The self-preparation option combined with the clearly inflated prices makes it unacceptable. In our opinion, a visit is not worthwhile.

"We came in hungry, we came out hungry" Food was nice but the quantity is poor, especially when you're ordering barbecue for 2 people, spending 70€ on food, you would think you'll be going home with full belly......wrong!

We came for Korean BBQ, but left feeling like smoked chickens. The room was filled with smoke, and the Korean fried chicken we ordered seemed stale and drenched in greasy sauce. Apparently, ventilation was optional, because our clothes smelled like we'd been on the BBQ ourselves. All in all, a bad experience. Not one we'll be repeating.

IT IS NOT A KOREAN CHICKEN!! The clerk isn't Korean either. 🤬 This isn't Korean chicken at all. They even hired Asians as clerks. It's not crispy, it's greasy, and it starts to feel greasy. The chicken is also dry. I'm upset that Germans might eat this and mistake it for Korean chicken.

I was craving fried Korean chicken, but this was more like fried disappointment. The flavor had only vaguely heard of Korea, but clearly had never been there. The potatoes, unfortunately, weren't potatoes anymore, but sponges completely soaked in sauce—crispy? No. Greasy? Absolutely. As if that weren't enough, the restaurant was so blue with BBQ smoke that I briefly wondered if I'd ordered my food or a lung test. All in all: unhealthy, disappointing, and definitely not worth repeating.

The entire restaurant smelled strongly of BBQ. In my past experience here, and in other Korean restaurants, it was never like this. I ordered the same dish I had before, and honestly, it was a huge disappointment. I really regret paying €42 for a soup that wasn’t even worth €12. The meat was tough and clumped together, the taste was bad, and there were barely any vegetables—if any at all. My friends ordered Korean fried chicken, but they couldn’t finish it. Their impression was that it tasted like food that had been sitting aside for a while and then reheated. I make Korean chicken at home as an amateur, and mine is honestly ten times better. In summary, this place is not what it used to be. If you’re coming back hoping to enjoy good Korean chicken in Cologne, don’t come here. It feels like throwing your money away. Totally not acceptable

I was unfortunately disappointed with my visit to Gangnam Style Korean BBQ in Cologne. The restaurant was very crowded and noisy, which didn't exactly make for a pleasant dining experience. The prices are far too high for what you get. While there are a few standard side dishes to accompany the meat, you have to pay extra for rice, which I find really strange, as such things are usually included with Korean BBQ. Ordering via mobile phone isn't a new idea, but the implementation here is simply confusing. You're seated at a table without anyone explaining how the system works or how to use the grill properly. This is quite frustrating, especially for first-time Korean BBQ customers. Overall, it's not good value for money and unfortunately not a restaurant I would recommend.

The taste was okay, but unfortunately, it's hardly comparable to authentic BBQ. A set menu for two costs a hefty €64, and that doesn't even include rice, which you have to pay extra for. The meager side dishes are only replenished thanks to the friendly service (it should have cost extra). The pictures in the menu show sauces and vegetables that don't actually appear on the platter. When I asked where the king oyster mushrooms had gone, I was told that they weren't currently available, but they could have at least suggested an alternative 😅. Meanwhile, an advertisement is playing next door, showing platters piled high with food. Well, to sum it up, it's okay once.

A great new restaurant geared more towards young people. The food is very unique but delicious. We were surprised that chicken and fish go well together, and they also tried other experimental dishes. All in all, I enjoyed it and we will definitely go there again. The food was tasty, but the portions were relatively small and quite expensive considering we had to prepare it ourselves. Our torch for the bulgogi went out several times, and we had to get a waiter because we weren't given any instructions on how to prepare it or how to use the torch.

We ate for six people. The quality left much to be desired, and for the price, we felt it was too little. The service was unfriendly, and we had to repeatedly ask if we could order more drinks. Not recommended.

They were playing The Weeknd the entire time, nothing against The Weeknd of course, but if your restaurant is called Gangnamstyle and you choose to play only one artist on loop, that artist should obviously be Psy! Jokes aside, everything was fantastic :)

Once again, we relied on Google reviews. After a few disappointing experiences at German restaurants, we decided to try this Korean restaurant. We ordered a Korean barbecue for two at €58 and waited… for the rice. I've eaten a lot of Korean barbecue in my life: rice has always been included. Here, it's extra, which is surprising for a restaurant supposedly run by a Korean chef. In Paris, Sam Chic offers a barbecue for €26 with rice included, and that's standard in most authentic Korean restaurants. The meat is served seasoned with an excessive amount of salt and pepper, not ideal for those on a low-salt diet for high blood pressure. On top of the saltiness, they offer the option to add more salt and pepper in small bowls served with the meal. This very salty meat also turned out to be frozen, so not exactly fresh, and quite fatty. I think this restaurant has a high rating because many customers are easily satisfied and consider it normal to pay a lot for basic food. The atmosphere and service are pleasant, but I recommend carefully reading the negative reviews before relying solely on the ratings.

This is NOT Korean bbq. I don’t know who lied to yall. They have steak and that’s it. They don’t give you any rice on the side which is always free at Asian places. They have you with those few very thin slices of steak 1 slice of potatoe, one slice of pepper. That’s it. For 70€. SCAM. Don’t go.

My girlfriend was visiting Cologne, and we really wanted to try Korean food. We hadn't been to the restaurant before, but we found it on Google Maps and thought, why not give it a try? The atmosphere is really lovely and cozy. We really enjoyed the food – I hadn't tried many of the dishes before, but there's always a first time. And I have to say, it was absolutely delicious; there's nothing to complain about. I'd especially like to commend the service team. The waiter who served us was incredibly attentive and friendly. He kept checking in to see if everything was alright or if we needed anything else, without being intrusive. You just got the feeling that he genuinely wanted all the guests to feel comfortable. Overall, a really wonderful experience – I can definitely recommend it. 😊

Unfortunately, it wasn't what we had hoped for. We didn't have a BBQ, but rather a set menu. Some of the food was tasty, but the vegetables were completely over-seasoned and fried to a crisp. The restaurant is cozy, but there were thick cobwebs hanging above us, dirt and cutlery under the table, and despite having a reservation, the five of us were seated at a table for four with a fixed service call button at the head of the table, forcing the fifth person to eat around it. The staff, while sometimes friendly, also seemed rushed and unfriendly – ​​and we didn't even get a thank you for our tip. It's a shame; we expected more.

Hello everyone, I was there on Saturday around 4:30 pm with a companion, without a reservation. We spontaneously got a table for two, which was a plus. The downside was the table's location, squeezed into a corner between two other tables and in front of a door (which wasn't being used). Unfortunately, I had to get up every time the person sitting next to me needed to leave. I don't think this spot is conducive to a relaxing evening in a restaurant, although I understand that, given the location, the space needs to be used optimally. Service is arranged after scanning a QR code with your phone. After a short wait, the food arrived, and from then on, things got a bit tricky. We ordered a platter for self-grilling, which also included small "appetizers" and oil/sauces, etc. The small bowls that serve as plates, along with cutlery, were already on the table. The problem is, firstly, the lack of space – everything is very cramped, so you have to be very organized to avoid accidentally clearing your own table. The cutlery set included a small pair of grill tongs and scissors. Then there were the romaine lettuce leaves – the idea seemed to be to cut the meat (beef) into bite-sized pieces (which I personally found extremely odd), place them in the lettuce leaf, and "garnish" them to your liking. Well, because the (plastic) bowl and the leaves were tiny, it was an absolute mess. We went through a ton of napkins, and we felt kind of "dirty" the whole time we ate. Combined with the limited space and the smell of BBQ at the table, it just wasn't very relaxing or pleasant. Taste-wise, the food was... well, kind of bland. It wasn't bad, not particularly good, just a bit unremarkable. The kimchi tasted like nothing; I'm used to it being a bit spicy – ​​it was kind of representative of the entire meal. The iced tea we ordered was just sugary (my companion was brave enough to order ginger, which was better!). So, little by little, we grilled the meat and the few vegetables, but we weren't exactly thrilled. In the end, we went to the front to pay—I ALWAYS tip—but in this case, I counted out the money since I wasn't particularly satisfied with the experience and there wasn't really any service. Since we paid the manager directly, I would have appreciated him checking on us, as is customary—especially if the guest doesn't seem happy. The manager's interest in his guests, however, seems to be nonexistent. The man, who I don't think was Korean, apparently doesn't consider it necessary to learn even the most basic phrases in the local language, like "Good evening," "Thank you," "Please," etc. I find that rather poor for someone who runs a restaurant here. In short, this type of restaurant isn't for me personally; and that's certainly not the restaurant's fault. I still don't understand the relatively high price (€28 per person without drinks) for comparatively little food, hardly any service, a poor location, and no feeling of being a welcome guest. It seems like a place that, due to its location, doesn't care about customer retention but is solely focused on maximum profit—service and quality are clearly secondary concerns. Finally: after leaving the restaurant, you smell (of course, it's a table BBQ) like a chip shop—something to keep in mind depending on what else you plan to do with your evening. First impression of the menu: a bit pricey, but for what you get—the quality and taste of the food, as well as the incredibly friendly and attentive staff—it's definitely worth every penny. There were four of us, and we had a really lovely evening: it was fun, enjoyable, and the staff was very friendly. You absolutely have to try the soju. We probably drank eight bottles, and afterward, I don't even remember how I got home. 😅😅😅 I love watching Korean TV shows, so eating here was a real treat. 🫣

It's unbelievable that the service is unaware of the allergy list. They don't have any food options that are gluten-free, lactose-free, or for other allergies. Please inform yourself.

Update 2025: The business is now trying to get this review removed, supposedly because it is "defaming". Make of this what you will. This ain't it. I felt like the dishes were interpreted in a bizarre way? The fried chicken was a bit dry and incredibly sweet. The soggy fries were doused in the same sauce as the chicken and offered no crispy contrast. I'm almost certain that the corndog was vegan, which was not advertised. It felt like the sausage part was the same material as the corndog, but dyed pink. The kimchi was not bad, but had never seen a spice in its life. Fascinating how something speckled red could taste so white. Service was non existent, we ordered via an app. Overall, big miss.

Unfortunately, there was no way to try the food. It was far too cramped. We were assigned a table in the very back corner, and neither my companion nor I could sit comfortably. It was obvious our reservation had been forgotten. The staff were unfriendly and annoyed. The whole place felt dodgy. We left without even being able to order. It was like being treated like an assembly line. STAY AWAY! There are better and friendlier restaurants in Cologne.

The meat and food were good, however, the table was dirty and very greasy upon arrival. The service was quick, but unfortunately very taciturn. No "hello" or "do you know how it works?" - "Welcome!"

After a long day at the food fair in Cologne, we had dinner at Gangnam Style Korean BBQ. Even though it was already around 8:30 p.m., the restaurant was still full. You could see the strain on the employees' faces, but as we ourselves come from the restaurant industry, we can understand that. Before leaving, we took a photo with the owner – a very friendly and personable man. We wish the Gangnam Style team continued success and many satisfied guests! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Unfortunately, it's significantly overpriced for the quality. The marinated chicken is tasty, but the meat quality is average. The 400-gram rump steak for €56 is cut into thin slices that either come out raw and fatty or are very tough.

Please don't go to Gangnam-style BBQ in Koeln. We made a reservation, but there was a 40-minute wait. That's okay, but the food is bad. The rice was so hard (not properly cooked). No one cleared the empty dishes, while a person sat at the head of the aisle with a fixed waiter buzzer on the table, which no one responded to. Our orders and drinks were delayed, and the first dish arrived after an hour. The waiter said he would bring cutlery but never returned. When we went inside to get the cutlery ourselves, the waitress was visibly overwhelmed and began gathering cutlery and said he would bring it (instead of simply handing it to me). There weren't even a small fork or spoon for the child. So we waited another 10 minutes, and the dish was cold. When our friend had finished his meal, the next dishes arrived, also only lukewarm. The grill and meat (€51 dish, supposedly for 3 people) arrived after a total of 2 hours, along with ONE small bowl of rice. When we asked where the side dishes (salad, sauces, etc.) were, we were told there weren't any?! Apparently, the restaurant expects you to eat 600 grams of unseasoned meat without any side dishes and share a small bowl of rice between three people. However, there were no other plates or bowls. The absolute highlight was that there was a cockroach crawling on the meat! We wanted to return the meat immediately, but the waiter shrugged and said he'd let us know and left the meat. No one came then either. We paid for our finished dishes and drinks (simply placing the money on the counter because we didn't want to wait another 30 minutes for the bill) and left. While we were sitting outside, at least three other tables got up and left due to lack of service. Edit: Following the restaurant's comment, I'd like to add a photo showing proof that the cockroach was indeed there (it had already crawled off the meat at the time the photo was taken) and that the table with the green sticker, contrary to the owner's claim, belongs to the restaurant (screenshot from Google Street View).

The pork belly is absolutely amazing, definitely the best thing I’ve eaten in Germany so far!(Im korean😂) Perfectly grilled and super flavorful. The owner is also incredibly kind and friendly. Highly recommend!

If u check a reviews overall place looks fine. I guess it's just not my cup of coffee. Food was terribly overflavoured, sweet-spicy chicken was way too sweet and teriyaki also too much flavourful. Both dishes were soaked in a sauce. Tea we ordered was like drinking sugar syrup. Couldn't even finish it, I mean stuff was helpful and place looked cozy and clean, but food.. naah not recommended.

Hello, we were here today. Friendly? - no. Affordable? - no. €160 for 4 people without dessert and without drinks for each person. MARINATED MEAT WITHOUT MARINATING... Sad and a disgrace for Korean restaurants.

Really nice place, food and drinks were really fast, meat was really good, high quality, veggies as well The chicken were also good, we tried all three types, the best one in my opinion was the teriyaki, then the garlic, the one with the chili sauce could be a little stronger. Its a little pricy but worth it :)

The BBQ was unfortunately very expensive and there was very little. At least they shouldn't have skimped on the side dishes; instead, they served a bowl of salt and pepper. 🤣 Since that didn't fill us up, we had to order two extra rices (I think it should be included in the menu for that price). The menus could have been a bit more varied; they offered either just pork or just beef; I would have liked a mix. Highly recommended Korean BBQ in Cologne! If you want to enjoy authentic Korean food, Gangnam Style Korean BBQ is the place to be. The selection of five menu items offers something for everyone – from tender, high-quality meat to delicious side dishes, all fresh and perfectly prepared. The ambiance is reminiscent of Korea and makes for a truly memorable experience. Small note: A classic bibimbap would have rounded things off perfectly, but even without it, the meal was a highlight. A true must for all fans of Korean grilling, BBQ, and Asian cuisine in Cologne!

The staff was friendly but not everybody spoke English. That isn’t a problem if you know some German but be aware of that fact if you can’t speak German. The meat was good quality but in my experience pricey. You get 12 pieces of meat with some vegetables for 62 euro. According to the menu, this is for two people. But it wasn’t, by a long shot. The grill has a fan to suck some smoke away but you will still smell like bbq afterwards. There is no basket to put your jacket away or an apron to protect your clothes. Keep that in mind. They have a view of the river, which is very nice. Overall good experience.

The food is certainly good for someone who isn't familiar with it, but if you're familiar with it like I am, you'd only give it 2-3 stars. 1. Of the 6 shrimp, only 1 wasn't floury, and otherwise, the intestines weren't removed from all the shrimp. 2. There's very little dipping sauce than provided. 3. The manager doesn't speak German at all. 4. At reception, guests should be told that orders must be placed online. 5. Guests should be explained how the food is grilled. 6. It's common practice to change the grill plate for seafood and meat to ensure the flavor isn't distorted. The ambiance is great, and the location too. With a few adjustments to the points mentioned above, the quality would be raised to a whole new level!

The food tasted okay, but nothing special. The service was geared toward quick service, and unfortunately, two of the men seemed a bit grubby because their fingernails weren't clean. The ambiance was reasonably clean, but completely smoky. All in all, not recommended; I've had much better at a similar or even cheaper price.

We visited Gangnamstyle Korean BBQ in Cologne for the first time today and were absolutely thrilled. We've seen other Korean barbecues in Munich and Düsseldorf – but this one is even better: the extractor fan is integrated directly into the table, which is a huge advantage. The selection of five different menus for two people makes ordering very easy. We even had a small change request, which was implemented immediately. At the table, you simply scan a code, order digitally, and within a few minutes – even though the restaurant was half full – the drinks and food were on the table. The service is multilingual; we noticed how guests were served in a friendly and competent manner, even in English. The quality of the meat is excellent, everything was fresh and perfectly prepared. The value for money is also good: a large bottle of water (0.75 l Gerolsteiner) for under 7 euros, and a good bottle of Italian Chardonnay for well under 20 euros – really fair. The location directly on the Heumarkt is ideal, with parking available, and after dinner, a short stroll through the old town is tempting. The food is pleasantly seasoned, everything moderately spicy, and therefore perfectly suited to European palates. We've had less positive experiences at other Korean BBQs. Overall: a truly fantastic experience, completely satisfied, a clear 5 out of 5 stars – and if it were possible, we'd even give it 6!

Addendum: After my review was automatically removed by Google for the second time, due to the restaurant reporting it as "defamation." Now I understand why there are so few bad reviews here. The restaurant can easily deactivate any bad review on the grounds of "defamation." Only after the reviewer fills out a form and provides evidence and justification for the review does Google review the request and reactivate the review. Apparently, this can be done again after a while. This means the restaurant can report any bad review and thus deactivate it. If it has been reactivated, it can be reported again in a few months. If that's not reason enough not to visit this place, I don't know what is. _____________________________________ Conclusion: Absolutely overpriced and overrated place. Grill menu not recommended. A very unpleasant experience. Never again. The restaurant looked different in pictures than it did in real life. It's much smaller, and the tables are quite close together. There's a bit more space at the larger tables. The smaller tables are arranged one behind the other, so if the tables in front of and behind you are occupied, you're sitting chair to chair. Additionally, the grill takes up a lot of space under the table, making it impossible to sit there. Luckily, we were able to move around. It was consistently far too loud due to the many seats in such a small space. The ventilation wasn't good. It smelled very bad. There was alternating warm and very cold air. Our eyes were burning halfway through. The staff were unfriendly and uninterested. They simply referred us to a QR code for placing orders. Otherwise, they offered no advice. Whether in English or German, we couldn't even order salt. We ordered the large grill plate (with side dishes) for two for €97. The meat tasted of nothing, and apart from a few small pieces of vegetables and five lettuce leaves, there were no side dishes on this meal. Among other things, we reordered rice, which was cold, dry, and simply mushy. The value for money was absolutely not right!

It's nice, but the bottom line is that you're simply served ingredients at your table, and then you have to grill them yourself. That can certainly be nice if you're in a group, but the price is a bit high for this service. Service is also a thing. You have to scan the QR code and place an online order, while you sit at the table and the waiters serve you. So, it works, but it's not SERVICE for me. At the end of the day, I ordered drinks and food online, prepared the raw ingredients myself (grilled them), and spent quite a bit of money on it. It might be trendy, fancy, and hip, but that's not what eating out is for me.

This is our first time here and we are extremely satisfied. We will definitely be back!

Very tasty Korean fried chicken, but towards the end of the portion you notice how greasy it all is. Drinks and food still came very quickly even though it was Gamescom weekend.

Decided to have some Korean BBQ and try a new place. Myself and 2 other friends ordered loads of food. At first things were fine. But then went south from there. Our food was given to another table. When asked by the wait staff what was missing, we told them, food still didn't come out. At close to 2 hrs of waiting and a meeting to attend to, we tried speaking to the manager to get things resolved. Instead of doing the right thing and apologizing or trying to make the experience better, he tried blaming the staff and tried playing mental/verbal games with our dissatisfaction due to the lack of food, lack of professional behavior from the manager, and lack of a resolution to the restaurant's mistake. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Yesterday, five of us went to this restaurant (the bill was approximately €200). While clearing the table, the waiter spilled a small bowl of oily sauce on my son's pants. He apologized and said the stain would come out easily – unfortunately, that's not true. Despite immediate cleaning, the pants are ruined. I have since contacted the restaurant directly and am awaiting a response. Depending on how the matter is resolved, I will adjust my review accordingly.

The price of pretty fancy restaurant but with ok quality food and the worst service I have ever seen. Even McDonald’s has a better service. Maybe that my expectations would be lower if the bottle of water would’nt cost 6,9 €. A non-exhaustive list: - Missing items - The overall experience is not aligned with the price. - Understaffed - Furnitures and overall ambiance are ok for a low to mid range restaurant but I don’t feel like this is the target.

Abominable experience, too expensive for what it is, meat just cut and not marinated and dish not in conformity with the photo, decor that does not make you think of Korea, no sharing with the menu. Believe me, you go to Paris for 125 euros with 5 people and you have a quality feast! Here we have 250 euros it is a scandal that steals your wallet. I am also rarely disappointed by a restaurant!

It's not tasty, run away. Two people ordered this and still weren't full. The meat wasn't marinated at all, the sauce was minimal, and the rice was extra. Two stars for sure.

A reservation for seven people completely overwhelmed the receptionist. There were no available tables, and apparently, they hadn't even noticed this reservation. We were put off for a good 20 minutes until the kitchen announced that no one else was to be allowed in – even after that, our group was ignored. Communication and organization urgently need to be improved; it wasn't the place for us that evening. The fact that gamescom is this week and that more visitors could be expected didn't seem to have fully sunk in here. What a shame.

Absolutely awful and not worth the price at all. Waited 2h until we got our food and only after asking for it twice. Never got asked if we wanted another round and in general nothing seemed to work. The sides we ordered never arrived.

We made a hassle-free online reservation for two people on a Saturday evening. There was no long wait, and we could choose between inside or outside. Friendly service and order-taking were immediate. Drinks and food arrived within a few minutes. Our questions about what to look out for at the BBQ were answered comprehensively and friendly in German. Despite the busy place, servers kept coming out with their "all-around view" to ensure no one missed out. Orders could also be placed via QR code. We had Menu 3 Seoul, Korean plum iced tea, yuzu iced tea, and two makgeolli in a gold jug! Everything was truly an experience for us and absolutely delicious. To experiment, more salad leaves would have been advisable, which you can order separately. But not a point I would deduct for that. A truly successful first wedding anniversary.

Korean fried chicken was rather below average, but the service was good.

I went there expecting Korean-style chicken, but was disappointed. I ordered yangnyeom chicken and garlic chicken, but the yangnyeom chicken had too little seasoning and was tasteless. The garlic chicken was somewhat edible, but even that tasted terrible after it cooled. I ordered online using a QR code, so the server didn't offer any service other than bringing the food, but they asked for a tip at checkout, which was a bit disconcerting. I don't know for sure since I haven't tried the other dishes, but I don't think this is a famous chicken place.

The food was truly delicious! Unfortunately, the service wasn't great, and it was extremely stuffy. The over-burned fat stank so much throughout the restaurant that even our clothes smelled of it. It was a very hot day, so maybe that's why? Also disappointing was that the menu, which cost over €60, didn't include rice.

For our birthday, we went out for Korean food for the first time. The staff were friendly and kept asking if everything was okay. They showed us exactly how to grill the food at our table so nothing would burn. The food was incredibly delicious, the drinks were great, and we were full and happy at the end. A beautiful view of the Rhine. Highly recommended!😊

Not really an option for vegetarians, although Korean cuisine certainly has something to offer in that regard... too bad... Service outside was also barely available.

The value for money is good overall – the excellent meat, served in good quality and with a good selection, is particularly positive. The side dishes are solid, and the Korean BBQ concept is well implemented overall. Ordering via app directly at your table is modern and efficient, but feels a bit impersonal. Direct contact with the service staff is lacking, which makes the visit seem less hospitable. One somewhat odd detail: The so-called "bell button" at the table, which you're supposed to use to call staff – for example, to pay – instead, you're told to please pay at the entrance. This seems contradictory and poorly thought out. The biggest criticism, however, remains the inadequate ventilation. After eating, your entire clothes smell strongly of grilled food, and your skin and hair also absorb the odor – a shower and a load of laundry are mandatory. This significantly spoils the overall experience.

I'd love to give it 0 stars, but this is a complete disaster. Endless language barriers. Not even the manager understands German/English properly. After asking for cutlery for the fourth time, we got fed up and "dismantled" the food with the remaining cutlery that was brought to us. And all for that price... Well, once, never again.

We ate here for the first time. Since my usual bulgogi restaurant was on summer vacation, I went here for my birthday. It was my companion's first bulgogi meal, and unfortunately, she wasn't impressed. We ordered two set meals for three people, and everyone was full. Unfortunately, the king prawns hadn't been gutted beforehand, which we had requested before ordering. The food itself, however, was really delicious; everything was fresh and the meat was of excellent quality. We had a seat near the bar, and the music was extremely loud. The place also seems to cater more to younger customers; every order has to be placed via a QR code; my companions (60+) were a bit overwhelmed by this. All of the side dishes (except for the radish) were spicy and too few. If there had been four of us, one of us wouldn't have gotten anything. The lettuce leaves were too few and not really good to eat; a different variety would have been better. If you live nearby and don't mind a bit of noise, I highly recommend this place. The price/performance ratio is decent. We ended up paying around €50 per person, including small drinks. Finding a parking space here is a matter of pure luck, and very expensive, too.

1 star because 0 isn't possible. There were 10 of us with a reservation. But if we hadn't been seated differently than assigned, not everyone would have had a table with a grill. That was pretty poorly thought out, but then things really got going. After the wrong drinks were brought three times, even though it was clearly communicated repeatedly what we wanted, we were a bit annoyed. Then the food arrived, and we didn't even have all the cutlery or chopsticks, EVEN THOUGH WE ASKED AND REQUESTED FOR THEM SEVERAL TIMES. Apparently, the staff there don't speak German or English, which is why you probably can't even read this review. The grill plate was switched on after 30 minutes of eating, so shortly before the end. The menu, which was specially ordered for one person, of course still came in the same size and price as the regular menu for 2. Then it continued: we ordered 2 waters, got 1, but were asked to pay for 2. NON-EXISTING SERVICE. MULTIPLE INQUIRIES AND REQUESTS WERE NOT ANSWERED AT ALL, BUT SIMPLY IGNORED, LIKE CUTLERY. The meat was fine, but it only needed to be cut. Everything else, like side dishes, etc., was either too little (5 noodles for 2 people) or not good. Please don't go there. It's just a dump.

It was our first visit to this restaurant, and we were unfortunately disappointed. No one in the restaurant, not even the manager, spoke German, which is quite worrying and made communication incredibly difficult. After I ordered the 200-gram pork BBQ, the manager told me in English I couldn't understand that I couldn't order it that way. I didn't understand why. After a long wait, the meat was brought to us anyway, but the mood was naturally a bit dampened. The service was also very mediocre and not particularly friendly. They never asked if everything was OK or how we liked it. The pre-prepared dishes were tasty, but I found the pork BBQ to be far too small in quantity, and it didn't really fill me up. The taste was also only mediocre, but it was quite expensive. I won't be visiting the restaurant again. It wouldn't have been so bad, but I've never experienced a restaurant in Germany where there isn't a single employee who speaks German, which means you can't communicate with each other. No recommendation, which is a pity.

The fried chicken is delicious, the BBQ is so-so. The service is terrible. They don't explain how to order. We wanted to pack the leftovers to go, but we didn't get a chance because the waiter simply walked away after asking. We were told to "pay at the cash register," and the table was simply cleared. You can only pay with a card together, not separately, so one person is shelling out over €200 for seven people. Next time, I'd rather go back to Düsseldorf; that's where the good restaurants are. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The prices are quite high for what you get. For two people, it's hard to get under €80-100. The €13 grilled vegetables are quite expensive. However, prices are normal for the Old Town and the Rhine area. The service is hard to rate, as you order everything yourself.

Unacceptable confusing and convoluted payment methods, with no clear information or instructions, something I have never seen in any restaurant I went to. We ordered ourselves via the online page with a barcode, the food arrived quickly as well as the drinks. the food was good but when it came to pay the experience was among the worst restaurants I have ever been to. They have a call button on the table as well as on the app, which DOESN'T do anything? we waited for a good but before calling out to a waiter for wanting to pay, but nobody came with a bill or anything. After another 20 minutes we talked to another waiter (who barely spoke both German or English) who said payment was only possible at the counter. okay? but why have a call waiter, and bill button on the desks, IF YOU ARE NOT GONNA USE THEM. we go down to pay and then only there are informed we could only pay with a max of one card. Great... we wanted to pay seperate like all other restaurants but only here it wasn't possible. All in all - Seated fast - Food was great - WAITED 40 MINUTES for the bill before the 2nd waited informed us. - Borderline illegal payment practices (it's not directly illegal but a very bad look for the establishment) All in all would definitely not recommend, and look for a different place. Not beeing able to speak neither German or English for a majority of staff is not good for a center spot in cologne.

The biggest disappointment of my trip to Cologne was Gangnamstyle Korean BBQ. Despite being a two-floor restaurant with seating for around 30 guests, only two staff members were working—and both looked completely exhausted. The man at the counter was particularly rude and clearly didn’t care about the guests. We waited 15 minutes just to place our order. Tables were left dirty due to the understaffing. We ordered BBQ Set #4 for €80. It took 30–40 minutes to arrive, and when it did, the same man from the counter dropped it off without a word—no explanation, no help. Thankfully, the second waiter upstairs was more polite and at least explained how to use the grill. As for the food: it was the worst BBQ I’ve ever had. The vegetables were old and dry, the meat was tough and flavorless, and the shrimp were unpeeled. They didn’t even provide plates—just a leaf tray, which they told us to use instead. Other guests around us were also complaining about the food. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. Don’t waste your time or money here.

I was here a year or two ago and was positively impressed. The servers were really nice and friendly and the food was great, but that has changed drastically. I was there again recently and am disappointed with what this place has become. The menu has changed a lot, and many dishes have been removed, which I find very sad. I had the original Korean fried chicken + sweet chili Korean fried chicken. It was dry, and the chicken tasted 'cheap.' It felt like the quality of the ingredients had drastically declined, even though the prices had actually increased, and unfortunately, there are even more things to complain about. The servers were unfriendly and completely unmotivated, and when I wanted to pay, the cashier pressured me to give him a tip. I'm really disappointed with what this restaurant has become. The price-performance ratio isn't optimal.
