Gangnam - Korean Chicken Restaurant in Berlin

I went there for the first time with my little sister and was more than thrilled. I can definitely recommend the bibimbap; it was delicious. The staff are also very friendly and always have a smile on their faces. Overall, a 10/10.

To be honest, I expected bibimbap in Europe to be nothing more than a mere imitation of Korean food. But Gangnam Chicken's bibimbap is anything but simple bibimbap. The essence of Korea, captured in a single bowl. The perfect arrangement of colors before mixing was a work of art. And the concentration and savory flavor of that gochujang... The very fact that it "doesn't remind me of home" is proof that it transcends home. It tasted like my mother's cooking had been transported straight to Germany. Honestly, isn't chicken native to Korea? So I thought, "Well, it'll probably be similar," but this truly rewrote the very essence of chicken. Crispy on the outside, crispy on the inside? That's too ordinary of an adjective! This chicken was "beyond crispy on the outside, crispy on the inside, and addictive, making you want to chew through the bones." Thinking of home? After a meal at Gangnam Chicken, I seriously began to contemplate whether I should continue living in Germany. If it's this good, I'll tear up my plane ticket to Korea right now and pitch a tent in front of this restaurant! Rating? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Infinite)!

I ordered the boneless chicken wings sweet-spicy sauce and the flavor just explodes in your mouth with an amazing service although the tables are a little crowded

As a Korean who had been missing Korean food, the garlic chicken was amazing. It wasn‘t overwhelmingly garlic-y tho, just the right amount of sweetness makes it perfect for everybody. The earl grey bingsu was amazing as well, better than any blacktea-based bingsu I’ve ever tried in Korea. They pick out and brew their tea, I guess that’s why it has a deep taste to it. They were super kind as well! Thanks for the experience

Really good chicken! The garlic one is VERY garlicky, so be careful (I loved it tho). Would prefer thicker fries and not these McDonald fries. If possible make the drum sticks bigger as well, and not these small ones. The ones I had in South Korea were much bigger than the ones here. I think the service was really kind, they have 2 very nice waiters. Their menu is small but SOOO good. Their food is super good. I would recommend it for a small group of 4 with your friends or family. After my second visit I can say, it’s the best Korean restaurant with the yummiest ice.

First of all, it's close to the station and the road to eat there is pretty, so I'm happy ㅎ The owner and staff are all kind and the taste is honey ㅜㅜ I'm so happy that I'm having refreshing snowflake shaved ice in Germany ;) You have to try it!! Highly recommended 🤗 The garlic chicken has the right amount of sweetness, and the French fries that come with it are homemade, so you can really taste the freshness of the potatoes 🍟 I think I know why there are so many customers :) The food is neat and clean. The atmosphere of the store is also very welcoming and comfortable, as if it were Korea ㅎ There were many foreign customers, and they all said it was delicious 👍 I even saw them being surprised by the shaved ice and saying it was delicious ㅋㅋ There's a reason why there are so many customers 🥰 I definitely want to visit again!!!!! 🥳💖 Even if there are people who have never been there, there probably aren't people who have been there only once! We love everything about the restaurant… Extremely friendly chef and great food and family.. our personal favorite is spicy sweet chicken and of course the ice cream just takes your heart:)

It was nice, but the bibimbap was very oily, and you had to do the service yourself; you didn't know if it was self-service or not. The staff were friendly, but the visit itself was strange.

I've been going here regularly since it opened in 2021 – for me, it's the best Korean fried chicken in Berlin. The chicken wings are crispy on the outside, even with lots of sauce, and they taste great! At first, my favorite was the spicy-sweet chicken, but later I really liked the soy-mood chicken. I get one to go almost every week. One portion is perfectly balanced: wings, fries, and pickled vegetables – inexpensive, delicious, and more than enough for one person. The chef is a very attentive Korean who truly cares about his customers. Once, I couldn't find the light in the dark bathroom; he saw it and simply turned it on for me as he walked by. He also remembers regular customers; even though I haven't been here much in the past two years, he recognized me immediately. You can just feel the warmth and commitment that goes into working here.

Sehr kleines und gut besuchtes restaurant in Wedding. Wir sind dorthin gegangen, weil wir ins "Korea Haus" wollten. Das gibt leider nicht mehr! :-( Das alte restaurant mochte ich lieber, weil es ein ganz anderes publikum hatte: Nicht so jung, durch und durch. Für mich nie ein zeichen guter essensqualität. Wir haben bibimbap bestellt und es war sehr lecker! Der mann, der uns bedient hat, war sehr zuvorkommend und interessiert an unsere "koreanische essenserfahrungen". Keine lange wartezeit, preis völlig angemessen, und satt waren wir am ende auch :-D Zu empfehlen! Nur 4 sterne, weil ich eigentlich das hähnchen probieren wollte und sah was auf den tellern der anderen gäste lag: Hähnchen und... pommes. Durch die pommes wirkte es total imbissmäßig. Aber vielleicht wissen junge menschen gar nicht wie "echte pommes frites" aussehen!

If you’re looking for authentic Korean Bingsu, this is the place to visit! The milky ice is super soft, and the strawberry flakes go perfectly well with the Matcha flavour. The owners are very warm and friendly, even serving Bingsu during a busy rush hour. Highly recommendable!

So after my 5th visit I can finally say that I love this place. Menu is small but food was really good every time. And owners are very welcoming and pleasant people! Thank you and keep doing what you’re doing 👌🏻 Will be coming back for sure

The best K-chicken in Berlin!!!!

Gangnam is a nice little restaurant in Wedding that offers a manageable selection of Korean specialties. The seats are very manageable, which is why reservations are recommended. The service staff is super friendly and accommodating. The food, I can only speak for the chicken, is excellent in terms of taste and quality. But why are fries served with it?! Somehow that doesn't really fit... rice or kimchi would be more appropriate here in my opinion. Still a great shop! Definitely worth a visit!

Overall their food is decent. I ordered pancakes and rice online through Wolt. The rice was good but the pancakes were horribly over salted. On complaining to Wolt, their shift manager Chris was unhelpful with a load of attitude, saying the restaurant refused to refund the pancakes! My frustration is that the food was wasted, had to buy extra because the rice was naturally not enough. In today’s economic situation, one hell of a way to discourage regular customers from using the app and restaurants!

Best Korean Chicken in the area

Everyone admits that the chicken is among the top 3 chickens in Berlin. Today I would like to specifically mention bibimbap. I think lotus root is a godsend. I usually like lotus root as a side dish, and lotus root is the highlight of this bibimbap. I was surprised to see that the lotus root and beef seasoning were used separately to create different flavors. It is rare even in Korea to see a place that puts this much effort into something. If the weather gets warm like it did last week, I'll go eat shaved ice for dessert. This house’s shaved ice is a special shaved ice. I had strawberry shaved ice in the winter, but I’ll try other shaved ice too! I can feel that the food is made with sincerity, and the owner seems to run the business with such pride. Well, food is an emotion. lol

Tried every type of chicken they've got with my mates. All very good, the garlic was our favourite. Nice fries, too! Also recommend giving the makgeolli (sparkling rice wine) a go for drinks. You don't often see it on restaurant menus around here.

I was looking for delicious chicken in Germany... Just come here. For me, this was better than the branded chicken I had in Korea!! ㅠ👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 The owner and his wife took pride in creating a clean taste without any seasoning, which is probably why the chicken didn't bite at all while eating it. I was impressed that even the last piece was still crispy even after so much time had passed. I heard from a friend who worked part-time here that they change the oil and wash the oil tank every day. So... the color of the chicken... is different.🫢 All types of chicken are delicious, but I personally recommend the ‘basic’ fried food🍗 with a thin and crispy skin that is not too greasy! Last time, we came as a group and tried all the other menu items, and all the ingredients were neat and clean. If possible, be sure to eat shaved ice at the end! They say they pick the red beans themselves and make the strawberry syrup themselvesㅜㅜㅜ I can feel from the taste that they put a lot of effort into all the ingredients and seasoningㅠ It's been a while since I enjoyed a warm and hearty meal.😋 I totally recommend Gangnam Chicken!!😀😄

I’ve been to Gangnam Chicken more than 20 times already!! It's the most delicious chicken restaurant in Berlin. This is the first Korean restaurant I recommend when I make foreign friends. Everyone✨💕 I feel so proud whenever everyone says the Korean chicken is really delicious after visiting. First of all, the owner and wife are so kind that I feel good even before I eat the food. I made new friends today too!! I brought Gangnam Chicken with me😍 Last summer, when I came with my friends, we always had one shaved ice a day… I'm not going to lie, I went there more than 10 times in the second half of last year alone. When you come here, you must order shaved ice..🍧🤤 If you don't know this, you're at a real loss... It's better than Sulbing (out of the 5 types, I recommend Earl Gray 🙂‍↕️) and especially, it tastes more like Korean chicken than seasoned Korean chicken.. Gochujang base? It felt like a seasoning, so it wasn't artificially sweet, so it was too delicious for my taste... When I first came to Germany in March last year, I ate bibimbap and it was delicious too💕💕 The things my French roommate enjoyed the most were bibimbap and soy sauce chicken!! I hope everyone comes and tries it... 🥹🥹 (Potato pancakes and kimchi pancakes too;; haha)

Perhaps because they only use clean oil, the chicken here is really crispy and seasoned just right!! It was one of the top chicken restaurants in Berlin! And the sauces weren't too spicy, so if you kept eating the chicken, you would get bitten, but that wasn't the case at all. Unlike other red beans, the red beans in the shaved ice were chewy and not too sweet, so it was really delicious!!! If you want a delicious chicken restaurant, I really recommend this place.

I only had the bibimbap - nice and fulfilling with a lot of savory veggies and sauce. Apparently their Korean fried chicken was their best food - will try next time! (12€ for 8 pieces, not so expensive) I wasn’t feeling like fried food and no veggies, so I had to skip that.

I really recommend the bibimbap here. The ingredients are varied and very fresh. If you are curious about the taste of Korea, please try it. I recommend adding a little bit of red pepper paste to enjoy the original taste of the ingredients.

I always visit Gangnam Chicken whenever I visit Berlin~ The food is not only food, but it is also a place where you can feel the warm love of the owner and his wife. The tofu bibimbap is really good! The best bit is the lotus root, which is delicious. If you did a whole portion of the lotus root I'd definitely order it!

As a Korean, I can tell you clearly that the best Korean chicken I have ever eaten in Germany. Price is also okay and really top service. The space can be a bit tight, but it is a small family restaurant. I can only recommend.

We ordered the chicken bibimbap and the fried chicken spicy-sweet. We enjoyed both very much!! The chicken was crispy and juicy, and the sauce from the spicy-sweet chicken went perfectly with the chicken. The staff were very nice and accommodating, you immediately felt welcome :)

I quite like their bibimbap and order regularly, however, I really hate the lettuce. This is not a usual ingredient for Bibimbap and it’s really does not work. Cold lettuce should not be included as an item you need to mix. Aside from that though it’s really lovely and what makes this even more special is the lotus root.

When I'm traveling and crave chicken, there's no place like this. It's really delicious and I can't even think of Korean chicken, and the shaved ice is so delicious~!! The two owners were friendly, the service was good, and the chicken tasted even better🩷

I can’t explain how good, tender, juicy and delicious the Korean Fried Chicken is in this place, we come every year and order boneless KFC with the three sauces to dip, with sweet potatos and every time, it taste exactly the same, never dessapoint and the owners are the sweetest people ever. It is a very neat and delicious meal. I ordered beef bibimbap and it came with bulgogi as a topping. The bulgogi itself was really delicious, but what I appreciated most was that it wasn't too sweet. The fried chicken is really delicious! It’s not inferior to the fried chicken I had in Korea before. But the steamed dumplings (?) taste just ordinary🤣I ordered the kimchi flavor I arrived on a Saturday night not long after it opened, and the last table was left! It is recommended that if you want to eat, you can make a reservation first, especially on weekends~ However, there is still room for improvement in terms of service ~ The outfield feels that it is understaffed and has been very busy. We originally said that we wanted to pack, but no one came to pack. It took a long time after the checkout was completed🤣

This is a place where you can feel the real taste of Korea! I ate beef bibimbap and garlic chicken, and wow... As soon as I ate it, I got goosebumps all over my body. Also, the fried lotus root was crazy. I almost asked the owner for the recipe. It's a taste that makes me happy. Seriously, I stopped by Berlin and it reminds me of Korean food. I'm craving it!
