Das Essen war in Ordnung aber kein besonderes Geschmackserlebnis. Wegen des Angekündigten Regens sind wir rein gegangen, uns wurde der erste Tisch am Eingang zugewiesen bei dem die Atmosphäre wegen des hin und her rennenden Lieferservice auch nicht nett war. Service war OK aber auch nicht sehr aktiv, ich musste leider selbst nach dem 2. Getränk fragen. Die Bedienung kam leider nicht auf die Idee. Aus meiner Sicht ist eine 4,5 deutlich überbewertet.

Gutes indisches Restaurant mit richtig überzeugender Küche. Die Gerichte sind aromatisch, sauber gewürzt und wirken frisch zubereitet. Gerade die Vielfalt auf der Karte macht Spaß, man findet schnell etwas Passendes. Auch der Service ist freundlich und aufmerksam, sodass man sich direkt wohlfühlt. Für mich eine klare Empfehlung in Kelheim, wenn man Lust auf indisches Essen hat.

Essen war super und der Service zuvorkommend. Preis/Leistung Verhältnis war sehr gut. Kommen gerne wieder 😄

Zum ersten Mal in einem Indischen Restaurant... Wir waren begeistert ! Das Essen war hervorragend ! Der Service überaus freundlich ! Wir werden zu gegebener Zeit , gerne wieder hier einkehren !

Update April 2026: Immer noch einfach TOP!! Tipp: Das eigentliche Lokal ist die Treppe rauf. Unten wird nur besetzt, wenn es sehr voll wird. Also einfach Treppe hochgehen! 🫠 Hervorragendes Essen. Super verträglich. Immer sehr frisch. Bedienung super freundlich und geht auch auf Sonderwünsche ein. Das Lokal ist immer sehr sauber. Bestes Indisches Restaurant im Landkreis.

Wir waren heute zum Mittagessen in diesem Restaurant. Es war sehr lecker, optisch ansprechend zubereitet und die Portion auch mehr als ausreichend. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und auch zu einem kurzen Plausch bereit. Sehr gerne kommen wir wieder.

Wir waren eine Gruppe von 8 Personen und alle hatten unterschiedliche Gerichte. Alles war ausnahmslos sehr schmackhaft zubereitet. Das Essen wurde schnell serviert, das Personal super freundlich und der Preis in Ordnung. Wir kommen sicher wieder.

Mir geht's weniger um das Essen. Das ist ganz OK. Mir persönlich fehlt einfach ein bisschen der Geschmack dabei - hatte ich jetzt schon bei 2 Gerichten so, dass die Soße in Kombination mit Reis und dem Fleisch dann einfach zu "lasch" war und es eher neutral bzw nach 'nix' geschmeckt hat. Was aber unmöglich ist, ist die Bezahlerei 🙄 Wir suchen online aus, was wir essen möchten auf der Website (Möglichkeit 1 für einen Hinweis), bestellen telefonisch (Möglichkeit 2 für einen Hinweis) und holen es vor Ort ab (an der Tür wäre Möglichkeit 3 für einen Hinweis), dass man nur bar zahlen kann/soll?! Keinerlei vorheriger Hinweis - wir holen ab und möchten mit Karte bezahlen. Die Antwort? "Bar" 🤨 als wir dann gesagt haben, dass sie warten müssen und wir erst Bargeld bei der nächsten Bank abheben, hieß es nur "kommen sie mit" & führt und zu einem funktionierenden Kartenlesegerät und wir konnten doch mit Karte zahlen! Hä? Willkommen in 2025. Es geht nicht darum, dass wir nicht bar zahlen würden, aber was ist denn das für ne Art?

Wir müssen Getränke kaufen! 🫨 Das Essen war nur mittelmäßig (5/10). Wenn es Alternativen gibt, meiden Sie dieses Restaurant bitte. Ich war mit einem Gast beim Nachmittagsbuffet (All-you-can-eat). Ich musste eine unangenehme Situation erleben: Die Bedienung meinte, ich müsse zu meinem Essen ein Getränk kaufen. Was soll der Quatsch? Wer sind die denn, dass sie mir vorschreiben, was ich in einem Restaurant zu tun habe? In der Werbung für das Buffet sollte klar darauf hingewiesen werden, dass die Gäste Getränke bestellen MÜSSEN. Das hatten sie aber nicht getan und hatten dann auch noch die Frechheit, so etwas zu sagen.

Haben bei Lieferung jetzt schon öfter Essen vergessen. Natürlich hat der Laden jetzt, als ich mich beschweren wollte, auch zu. Essen ist sehr gut. Dort essen gehen ja, Bestellen werde ich nicht nochmal.

Das Essen war wirklich gut. Service typisch Indisch, emphatielos. Meine Frau meint das liegt daran, dass die nicht richtig deutsch sprechen, ok. Akzeptiert. Aber was ich nicht mag ist dieser neue Trend beim Bezahlen. Karte wird akzeptiert, steht an der Tür, aber Maschine ist kaputt, oder kein WLAN. Also Bargeld. Hab ich nicht. Nach längerem Diskutieren geht das Kartengerät doch, aber die Gebühren seien zu hoch. Das passiert mir jetzt zum fünften Mal in verschiedenen Lokalen.

Ich habe telefonisch beim Ganesha eine Bestellung zur Lieferung aufgegeben. Nach mehrmaligem Checkup der Bestellung wurde mir gesagt, dass es ca. 45min dauert. Nach ca. 1h war noch immer kein Essen in Sicht. Daraufhin habe ich mich nochmals telefonisch gemeldet und mir wurde gesagt, dass das Essen erst jetzt raus gegangen ist und in einer halben Stunde kommt (dafür gab es als Entschädigung ein Nan-Brot aufs Haus). Als das Essen nach 1,5h endlich da war, fehlte bei der Lieferung allerdings ein Teil der Bestellung. Auf erneute telefonische Nachfrage wurde mir gesagt, dass es vergessen wurde aufzunehmen und da jetzt nichts mehr zu machen sei. Ich gebe 2 Sterne - einen weil das Essen wirklich gut schmeckt, einen weiteren für den guten Willen der Entschädigung mit dem Brot, jedoch war die Lieferung ansonsten leider eine reine Katastrophe.

Ich habe mein Essen abgeholt. War nach 10 Minuten fertig! Leider hat meine Erdnusssauce gar nicht nach Erdnuss geschmeckt! Reis war üppig, Fleisch hätte etwas mehr sein dürfen.

War zum Mittagessen dort. Nettes Personal und ein gutes Buffet mit frischer Salatauswahl, Suppe und vier unterschiedlichen Hauptspeisen. Dazu Naan und gebackenes Gemüse. Hat gut geschmeckt zu einem fairen Preis.

Ich war heute Mittag für 10,90 . Das Menü hatte 4 Speisen, Suppe und Salat plus Nachspeise. Man kann schön draußen sitzen und es hat alles gut geschmeckt. Mit Getränk 15 Euro. Sicherlich nicht jeden Tag aber ab und zu 👍

Wir haben hier sehr gut gegessen! Die Bedienung freundlich und aufmerksam 😊 Gerne wieder!

From the menu to the food to the service, it's exceptionally good. A nice alternative to the Bavarian competition. Plenty of vegetarian and meat options, and even my girlfriend, who rarely eats Indian food because it's usually too spicy, easily found some delicious dishes!

A disaster. Dirty table - rice was swept off the table in front of us. No card payment, but then card payment was accepted. Service was moderately friendly. You don't feel welcome. The food tasted okay. No thanks.

We went to this restaurant for dinner and were absolutely thrilled. The food was excellent and the service very friendly. We'd love to come back.

There was a fly in my drink and a spider in my rice. And we had to pay the full price for that, even though we hadn't drunk anything or eaten anything. While we were having rice, we told him there was a spider in it. He simply took the spider out right in front of our eyes, using the same spoons that we ended up having to use. I also said, "Here we go, they can carry on eating."

The food was far too expensive for what we got...The mixed platter as a starter, for example, consisted of a few pieces of chicken and a listless salad slapped onto the plate! I can do this at home too... I had my main course packed (which still had salad, rice and sauce on it) and the only thing they packed for me were the chicken pieces, they didn't even let me have the sauce. Absolutely no recommendation!

Unfortunately the dips for the chicken pakora were forgotten when we picked it up yesterday, otherwise it would have been 5 stars. Food tastes great, nice service. We will order again next time.

I have to give this wonderful restaurant the highest stars. I had the Chicken Byriani, Chicken Sharba, Basmati Rice, and Nan ( their triangle bread). They were fabulous. I have to say, I am so happy that this wonderful Indian restaurant is here in Kelheim. It's truly a hidden gem in the area of the Altmühltal. The service is also great. The servers were very attentive to my family's needs. I will be returning again and again to my new favorite Indian restaurant.

We've eaten there a total of three times now. You always get a spot spontaneously. The food is really very good and ready quickly. There is a very large selection, which is good on the one hand, but on the other hand it usually takes a long time to decide. The service is very attentive and really nice. The ambience is what you would expect in an Indian restaurant.

Great restaurant in the middle of the old town of Kelheim. We've eaten here several times or had dishes delivered to us. It was just really delicious every time. The lunch buffet for 10.90 is highly recommended. There is salad, a soup, 2 vegetarian and 2 meat dishes. Plus the very tasty Nan bread. But the restaurant is also highly recommended in the evenings. We always enjoy coming back.

Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with the mixed grill plate (some of all tandoori delicacies No. 42). The taste was good, but 4 small pieces of meat and a mini chicken leg and no shrimp (the Ruprik Tandoori comes with shrimp) with rice, naan bread and a bit of salad (this made the plate look fuller) for 19.90 euros?? ?? I wouldn't have been full without the starter. Guys, that's being a disgrace to the guest. When I was told that everything meant everything, I was just told: Okay, I'll tell the boss. But I am very sure that nothing will change. Maybe change that "of all" in the map. You just expect something different from “everyone”. I'm happy to pay the money, otherwise I wouldn't have ordered it. But the price-performance ratio has to be right.

Eating bland food. Tasteless. I've been to hundreds of Indian restaurants but this place is by far the worst. It doesn't taste Indian at all, it tastes like ready-made Indian sauce from the supermarket. Naan was ok. Service was good.

It tasted very tasty. What bothered us a bit was that even though we were the first guests in the restaurant, we were supposed to be seated at the smallest table. We asked for a larger one - which worked. Otherwise the staff was friendly and we were served quickly. We will definitely come back there on our next vacation.

The food is outstanding! We are happy to have such a good Indian restaurant in Kelheim! The delivery doesn't take long and the food is still really hot. We will always order from Ganesha-Kelheim! Finally a relatively authentic meal. I think there is something for everyone here

Poor quality of food and service. We ordered two chicken dishes, one chicken in the curry wasn't cooked enough, tasted like a gum, and the sabzi curry didn't have much flavour, was rather dull, similar in taste to a pumkin soup. The other chicken tasted better but was covered in green and red artificial, intensive, unnatural colours. The rice was very big and didn't taste fresh. We left the whole bowl. Out of 3 souces served before the meal, only one was eatable, also made of artificial colours. It's so sad that with huge variety of colourful indian spices, artificial colours are being used.Papadam was ok.The stuff was unfriendly, not noticing us for a long time when we wanted to ask something or a bill, reluctant to answer questions. It was a very disappointing experience

The food was not upto the mark. Long time to serve. No flavour, same gravy base for all the dishes. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Please dont go by the reviews.

Very well balanced dishes. Not a creative menu and even the vindaloo was only mildly spicy for an American/uk palate, but friendly and spacious. Surprisingly good chicken soup!

The food was very flavourful although I would have liked it a little more spicier. The service was amazing and the owner was very welcoming. Being a Indian, I would definitely recommend this place.

Food was very tasty! The lamb was very tender. The Kulfi (the classic dessert) was also very tasty and homemade. Service was quick and friendly! There is also happy hour from 5 p.m. and the cocktails cost €4.90. All in all, a wonderful evening!

Cozy Indian restaurant with friendly service and good food. The ambience in the historic building, which I believe was built in the Wilhelminian era, also has its charm.

Very very friendly reception very good service Dog friendly The food is tasty but “Germanized”. You should therefore not expect 100% authentic food and you should perhaps avoid using cream in sweet dishes (spray cream). The portions are very good. All in all, we would be happy to come back and can recommend it to others.

Hello, it's me, Rudi! At the time, I wrote the following text about my assessment, with the advice not to visit the restaurant again. We decided to try it again on Sunday because when I walked past it several times, I had the impression that the staff had been replaced. We were very satisfied this time, especially with the food. The staff was attentive, spoke German and everything was quickly put away after the meal. We've probably learned from the whole thing, which means we're now stopping by more often in the hope that it stays that way! -------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- - Friends of the sun, I was with you for the third and last time on Saturday, the service was subpar and cannot be accepted. The strange person who ate the food and drink was already bad; he also barely spoke German. He then brought us the bottle of red wine without glasses only after I asked and after half an hour. It then took a long time until the glasses were only brought after I asked. If we consume the red wine from the bottle, anything is possible here! The starter with the watery 3 sauces came together with the main course, which was a real challenge even on the small table. Suddenly there were 3 figures standing around us, all fiddling around, I started to feel dizzy. One of them was just able to catch the red wine bottle, otherwise it would have tipped off the table. Starting with the cheapest dishes, everything was a disaster. The empty plates hadn't been cleared away when we left, even though one of the people wandering around there kept passing by the table. When I complained, I was rudely told that they didn't have time. We felt like idiots and had to pinch ourselves to make sure there wasn't a hidden camera set up here. This restaurant has been open since November and they haven't learned anything at all. The store is terrible, never again, we'd rather stay at home before we do that to ourselves again! BUT THE BIGGEST THING IS YET TO COME: THE SUSPICION IS THAT THE RULES HERE ARE EVALUating THEMSELVES TO PUSH THE RATINGS, THE ENTIRE CLAN WILL JOIN IN! Take a closer look at the reviews and their authors, it's worth it!

It was great to experience traditional Indian food in Germany. I ate curry and butter naan and felt grateful for the delicious food and the friendly owner and his wife. If I have a chance later, I would like to visit again.

Absolutely top Indian restaurant. Good value for money. Nice ambience. The boss Tejbir is very open-minded and sociable and has a hard time as a human being. He also occasionally celebrates with his regular guests... super nice! Highly Recommended!

A nice restaurant on two levels and lots of space. Nice and friendly staff. No waiting time in the courts. All very tasty!!! Dishes could be a bit salty or spicy, prices have become more expensive, but has cheap lunch menus, highly recommended.

Super fine, authentic Indian food! Since we really love Indian food, we visited this Indian restaurant shortly after it opened and were really impressed by the friendly service and the incredibly good food and drinks. Since then, we have been treating ourselves to a fine Indian meal almost every week, including the tasty chai = Indian spiced tea or a fresh mango lassi in Ganesha. We also chose the Ganesha in Kelheim for a family reunion and everyone was absolutely thrilled. Many thanks to the great team - keep it up!

My friend and I went to the restaurant, but the waiter in the restaurant was completely dirty. A very foul smell came from his clothes. He often scratched his body. Please give him rest and ask him to take medication as it can be very dangerous for others.

The food was very tasty and delicious. The naan bread was very good too. I have tried various Indian places across Germany this has to be one of the best had authentic Indian flavors. Will be back!

I ordered something from this Indian company for the first time today. Delivery was great. The food was also very hot 👌 What I have to complain about is I ordered 2× mixed grill tandori everything. The meat was good, as was the rice and the sauce, but there were no vegetables with it and for a whopping 19.90 per nose I actually expect vegetables with it too or the promised salad on the menu wasn't there, Otherwise everything was fine.

Ich war nun schon das dritte Mal dort essen und es hat jedesmal sehr gut geschmeckt! Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und wir mussten nicht lange auf das Essen warten. Vorher gab es einen Snack aufs Haus und hinterher einen Schnaps. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Das Esser und der Service waren echt hervorragend! Wirklich sehr gute indische Küche. Die Preise sind zudem absolut in Ordnung.

Wir waren heute zum Mittags Buffet essen in diesem Restaurant. Es war sehr lecker und eine gute Auswahl am Buffet. Alles was leer wurde wurde sofort wieder aufgefüllt. Der Service war excellent, sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, es wurde sofort bemerkt wenn das Getränk leer war. Das Essen war sehr schmackhaft und gut gewürzt - richtig gute indische Küche. Das Naan Brot war ebenfalls sehr köstlich 🤤

Sehr leckeres indisches Essen super Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis. Freundliches Personal, sehr empfehlenswert.

Gestern waren eine Freundin und ich das erste mal in diesem Restaurant. Wir waren leider etwas vor 17.00 Uhr da, das Restaurant war trotzdem nicht verschlossen, obwohl Sie offiziell noch nicht geöffnet gehabt hätten und wir wurden sofort freundlich empfangen. Uns wurde sofort ein Tisch zugewiesen und die Getränkebestellung aufgenommen. Nachdem wir die vielfältige Karte durchgelesen hatten, entschieden wir uns einmal für das Naan-Brot mit Raita und das Naan-Knoblauchbrot, sowie für eine Linsensuppe, Butter-Chicken und das Chicken Biryani. Ich wurde dann freundlich darauf hingewiesen, das meine extra Bestellung von der Raita nicht nötig wäre, da diese sowieso bei meinem Hauptgericht dabei wäre. Dies empfand ich als extrem zuvorkommend, man hätte es auch einfach bringen können und extra abkassieren. Ist für mich ein absoluter Pluspunkt, dass man das in diesem Restaurant nicht macht. :-) Die Gerichte waren alle sehr schnell bei uns und es hat alles sehr gut geschmeckt. In Summe waren wir auf eine Stunde mit dem Bestellen + Essen fertig. Zudem wurde uns als "Vorspeise" kostenfrei etwas Brotartiges (weiß leider nicht genau, was es war) mit drei Dips serviert und zum Schluss haben wir eine kleine Tasse Chai, ebenfalls gratis, bekommen. Das fand ich sehr aufmerksam und dies ist heutzutage sehr selten geworden. Das Personal empfand ich als sehr aufmerksam und auf Zack. Die anderen Gäste sind ebenfalls sehr schnell und höflich bedient worden und es wurde sich während dem Essen auch mehrmals versichert, ob alles passt und wir zufrieden sind. Wir waren hier definitiv nicht zum letzten Mal und kommen wieder. :-) Danke für den schönen Abend!

Leider kann ich mich den vielen sehr guten Bewertungen nicht anschließen. Bei uns war das salzige Lassi verdorben (wurde dann aber ersetzt) und das Essen verglichen mit anderen indischen Restaurants vom Geschmack eher langweilig. Zum Beispiel war der Reis einfach nur weiß und die Saucen ohne Raffinesse ( schmeckten nach Fertigsauce).

Haben heute Mittag für 7 Personen bestellt. Lieferung war super Pünktlich, Essen war heiß und super lecker! Werden wir mal wieder machen... :)

Mittags Buffet war in Ordnung; nicht allzu große Auswahl an Gerichten, steht aber auch am Eingang, dass es nur zwei vgetarische und zwei Fleischgerichte gibt; aber es hat geschmeckt, über den Musikgeschmack kann man sich natürlich streiten.

Wir haben telefonisch zwei Gerichte bestellt. Obwohl unsere Unterkunft schwer zu finden war, erfolgte die Lieferung pünktlich. Ausgezeichnetes Essen, schön hygienisch verpackt und warm.

Sehr gutes Essen, schnelle Lieferung, sogar 20 min eher als angegeben! Jeder Zeit wieder!

Haben uns Paneer Kulcha (Nan mit käse) Lachsan Kulcha (Nan mit Knoblauch) Beef Bhunna Mango Lamm zum liefern bestellt. Essen war pünktlich und noch sehr heiß. Und das Essen selber war Spitze, Fleisch schön zart, Soße hatte eine super Konsistenz und Würze. Der Reis hätte für 4 Gerichte gereicht. Werden auf jeden Fall nochmal bestellen bzw vor Ort essen gehen.

Me and my friends decided to dine in this restaurant at the last moment. Not the brag, but the service and customer hospitality was really great. Staff was amazing and so was the food. I would definitely suggest to try out mango lassi (an Indian sweet) at the end of your meal. It was amazing!
