Ganesha Indisches Restaurant in Dresden

I’ve been here many times. Always great, food is also excellent. In nice weather their patio is also quite nice.

We tried Ganesha Restaurant as our favorite Indian restaurant was fully booked and the reviews looked promising. Unfortunately we were very disappointed: - It's cramped and crowded, and the service is rushing and pushing. You get the feeling that they want to get the guests out as quickly as possible because the table will be needed for the next guests in two hours. So you can't sit in peace and enjoy the evening comfortably. - The food was bad. The mixed vegetarian pakora was more batter than vegetables. Some dishes - chicken korma, butter chicken - were so full of sugar that they were barely edible. We ordered different types of naan, all of which were drowned in oil and tasted no different from each other. The malai kofta was particularly bad - supposedly fried paneer, but the balls that were in the gravy were some kind of disgusting dough. No trace of cheese. The rice didn't taste like much, even though there were a lot of spices in it. Finally, the mango lassi was too sweet. Overall, the offering is very much tailored to the German palate and has little in common with authentic Indian food. And way too much sugar! Unfortunately, only old EC cards are accepted. No current debit cards now issued by most banks. So it's better to have enough cash with you... Conclusion: So far the worst "Indian" restaurant in Dresden - and I've been to every... I've been to India several times and know what I'm talking about... This means that Ganesha is not recommended! We won't go there again!

The food was very good, but you should leave your jacket on because the request to leave came pretty quickly after eating, despite the glasses being full. You get rid of the table faster than you would like.

The best experience ever, I mean, I have explored a bunch of Indian restaurants here in Germany but no one was the kind owner and employees like these guys. Very nice food as well. For sure visit nice time. Must try "kahari paneer and butter naan".

A must-visit restaurant for anyone who loves Indian food! The restaurant is hidden in a quiet corner of Dresden, but believe me, it's worth looking for. The food is creative, delicious and perfectly prepared. Be sure to try the karai paneer, onion naan and mango lassi for dessert!

“I had the pleasure of dining at this amazing Indian restaurant and tried their Paneer Kadhai with Onion Naan. The flavors were absolutely incredible! The Paneer Kadhai was perfectly seasoned with a rich, spicy gravy that was bursting with authentic Indian flavor. The onion naan was soft, fresh and went perfectly with the dish. The combination was simply heavenly. The service was excellent and the ambience added to the delightful dining experience. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is in the mood for authentic and delicious Indian cuisine.

I live in Berlin, where it's hard to find authentic Indian food. I've heard a lot about the Ganesha Indian Restaurant in Dresden from friends, and I was finally able to try it out. Even though we hadn't reserved a table, the staff was very friendly and quickly reserved one for us. The food was absolutely fantastic! We had Kadai Paneer, Shahi Paneer, Paneer Kofta, Garlic Naan and Onion Naan. Everything was so delicious and had the real taste of Indian cuisine. The service was excellent. They checked on us several times to see if everything was okay and if we needed anything. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Indian food. It's worth a visit!

We went here for dinner with work colleagues. When we arrived the restaurant was already surprisingly full, but we still managed to get a table. The service was very friendly and the food came to the table almost at the speed of light. Everything tasted delicious and there was so much that we all had a portion for lunch the next day. The price was also completely reasonable! We'd love to come back

Super tasty and always worth a visit.

Every month my friends and I visit some foreign cuisine in Dresden, this time we chose India. Ganesha exceeded our expectations. Staff at a great level, atmosphere authentic, huge selection of food, everything tasted very good. The prices match the quality. I was very pleasantly surprised by the Indian draft beer. We would love to come back, it was a real experience for me.

I visited this Indian restaurant. It’s a busy place, so it’s best to have a reservation beforehand. The food was enjoyable—I especially liked the samosa and the special thali, though a few more curry options in the thali would have been nice. Overall, it was a good experience with very friendly staff.

We came because of the good reviews and had also heard that Indians like to visit the restaurant, which would indicate authentic cuisine. The rooms make a cozy but somewhat cramped impression. The three of us chose 3 main courses (Tandoori Chicken, Lamb Madras and Aloo Gobi) and extra garlic naan. The tandoori chicken was ok. The two curry dishes were very creamy and had neither heat nor spice (which is what Indian cuisine in particular should be). Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing evening for us overall.

It was our first time eating Indian food. It was really very finely tuned. The service was great, friendly and very attentive. The food was very good. We'd love to come back.

Very nice food, and amazing staff. I took the order for takeaway, but later decided to dine-in. The staff gave me fresh naan, and not the packed one, without charging extra.

Having to maintain this steady quality in food is great and always refreshing to visit. Perfect for the university crowd to get a healthy meal over lunch 👌🏼🙂

I have been here 5times, the experience is getting worse everytime. Recently during my last visit: I called them reserve a table for 6.30PM but they suggest me to boom early or later, 1st shock. Then, in the restaurant they served all the food items together, including soup/ starter and main course. They have good rush but that doesn't mean their service can be degraded. And the menu have pictures with std. Tandoori chicken and serve Tandoori chicken Tikka. Silly. I hated this even more when I took my friends. Anyway I am done with this restaurant. Never going back.

This restaurant is definitely worth a visit. As expected, Friday evening it was quite full, but the nice, friendly staff still found space for us. It was clean, comfortable and the service was quick. I didn't know the Indian restaurant yet, but I would like to try it again.

Very tasty food, lots of choice and beautifully presented. When the weather is good, there is a cozy beer garden.

We were guests here last night quite spontaneously and of course we didn't have a reservation. Although the restaurant was very busy, we were very kindly asked to wait a moment and were then shown to our table. The entire staff is very, very friendly and helpful. Recommendations are made if you have problems with the choice of food or drink. And the food is just incredibly good. Fresh ingredients, lots of spices, tender meat, different naan breads... I can really only recommend this restaurant, thank you very much for the lovely evening with you!

Some dishes (shrimp stir-fry) are cooked with more care than others (the 2 with paneer we had looked like canteen dishes). In the end everything was just ok.

... if you want excellent Indian food, this is the right place! Very courteous, friendly and attentive service. The menu is varied, which unfortunately we were not able to test sufficiently; After the dishes my wife and I chose, we were well full. Try it out yourself.

Because of the many positive reviews, we decided to visit the restaurant. We had already reserved by email in advance and stated that we would have a toddler and a baby with us. Our reservation was then confirmed and we were assured that there would be a high chair at the table and space for the stroller. Apparently there was a lack of coordination internally. Nothing was prepared and it was clear that the staff were annoyed and reluctant to get a high chair and make room for the car. The mood was noticeably bad and we didn't feel welcome with children. After a short time we decided to leave the restaurant with the child while the rest of the family stayed to celebrate their birthday. They described the food to us as very good. At the table opposite we heard the owner telling the guests that they should hurry up and still have an hour to eat. We definitely cannot recommend the restaurant with children and will go somewhere else at the next celebration, despite the good food, in order to experience a pleasant atmosphere and friendliness when visiting the restaurant.

We actually enjoyed going there. The food is good. The last three times we ate there, we paid €10 more each time than it actually cost (without a bill, of course). During the last few pickups we always received the food differently than what we ordered and were not satisfied. That's really disappointing!

Update 2024: In terms of taste, it's simply the best Indian in Dresden and once you've eaten here a few times, you won't want to go anywhere else. The paneer in particular is extremely good, fresh, juicy and has the perfect consistency. There are also plenty of vegetables with the dishes. The rice is also mixed with spices and is simply heavenly. Another recommendation is the naan bread, which is airy, delicious and mixed with herbs. On nice days you can sit outside comfortably and comfortably. There are also some seats inside, but they don't offer as much light because the restaurant is in the basement.

The best place in dresden to have a biriyani. Most of the dishes are very close to the actual Indian food.

There was a crazy wait time of 40-45 mins to bring 2 regular menu items on to the table while the visitors number was average. Food and presentation brought some joy at the end.

Initially, everything was going well. Our waiter was great, and the food was good too. However, when it was time for payment, a different person brought the check and informed us that they do not accept credit cards, insisting that we pay in cash. We had to withdraw cash from an ATM to make the payment. Despite politely requesting a receipt multiple times, he refused to provide one. We had to leave without a receipt, which was frustrating.

Sucha a poor service here. They are taking upto 1hr to serve the food. Because of that we missed our train. If you have enough time then it's good to go there.

The food is average, the cost of a chicken dish is about 15 euros. I wouldn't go back again.

It's decent food, but it's not worth going. Fast and good service. I tried 4 different dishes, and I couldn't eat more than a few scoops. If you are a fan of Indian food you may like it, but I didn't like it.

Everything was great, it tasted great, I only give it 4 stars because there was a little too much sauce and less chicken in it, but it was still tasty

Friendly service and wonderful food. The basmati rice with cardamom, cinnamon, star anise and cloves is something special, the main courses showcase the diversity of Indian spices, the dessert Phirni is delicious and the mango lassi is creamy and fruity. We will go here again on our next visit to Dresden.

The restaurant is on a quiet street and parking is on the side of the road. It is very pleasant to sit outside under the umbrellas and enjoy the very good Indian food.

Mega delicious food, good prices, great service! Parking is possible free of charge directly in front of the restaurant. Arriving by public transport is no problem either. We'd love to come back!

Incredibly delicious food, nice (and also very funny) staff. We were in a large group, the food came all at once and the prices were absolutely reasonable and justified. Rarely have I eaten such tender chicken and only the bread 😍 There are still a few things on the menu that need to be tried, so we'll definitely come by more often☺️

Very good and flavorful food! Also it is nice atmosphere to sit in the terrace. Only downside is that there is no option to pay with Visa Card, only cash or EC.

The food is quite good if you get what you ordered. One of the dishes used a lot of vegetables that were not shown on the menu, which makes allergy sufferers happy. So far so bad, but if you complain about this you will unfortunately not be taken very seriously as a customer. Here it is assumed that you are very familiar with Indian cuisine and its peculiarities or that you simply eat what you get without thinking about it or questioning it. Unfortunately, a big minus and probably the last visit to this restaurant for us.

You can sit very nicely outside as well as inside. Nice and courteous service. Really great and incredibly tasty food (I haven't had such delicious crispy duck with sauce before). Great value for money!

We had a Chicken karahi with Mutton biryani and Mallai boti from grill. All are had a great Taste.

It was the tastiest Indian food I have ever eaten. We had different dishes that we shared and it was all fantastic. There is a flower shop right next door and since everything is currently in bloom, the whole visit was accompanied by a really nice summer scent. When we are back in Dresden we will definitely come back.

In my opinion this is the best Indian restaurant in Dresden. We were here several times and every time all the dishes were absolutely delicious! :)) The service is always very friendly and the atmosphere is cozy. We got the butter chicken, nan, vindaloo chicken and samosas, and they all tasted good but the butter and vindaloo chicken were 80% sauce and 20% chicken.

Wir wurden sofort draußen plaziert, obwohl für uns auch drinnen in Frage kam, ja es schien die Sonne, aber nach dem Essen mussten wir uns erst mal in der Sonne aufwärmen, unter dem Schatten des Schirmes war es ziemlich frisch. Essen kam schnell, einmal Lamm, einmal Blumenkohl, von jedem hätten ein wenig mehr Stücke sein können, naja, satt geworden! Jetzt am abend habe ich noch mit der Verdauung zu kämpfen, Essen stößt auf, es war wahrscheinlich die Soße nicht frisch gekocht, denn meine Verdauung ist gut. Am Eingang stehen auf der Speisekarte niedrigere Preise, als sie im Restaurant waren! Sollte mal aktualisiert werden!

Food is awesome. Bunty!! Hurray!! To you, what a man with humanity.. They offered me free food when I said I have no cash only card payment. Later, as there are few steps to walk to the ATM and no hassle I could be able to pay I remember for a long time, cheers!!
