The best Indian restaurant out of all the many I've tried! I've been coming here for a long time and have often brought friends. So far, every guest has been impressed by the delicious food and the friendly waiters! Highly recommended! Especially for the chili paneer :)

I’ve been living in Dresden for six months and hadn’t found a place that truly reminded me of home until I visited Ganesha. The food was authentic, comforting, and absolutely delicious. I really appreciate the effort they put into serving genuine home style dishes.

I had a delicious Indian meal here with my family for lunch today. The service was excellent. I highly recommend eating there.

Yesterday I was there with my wife and daughter, and the food tasted very good and the staff were all very friendly.

Unfortunately, my visit was not pleasant. I was seated at a table right next to the staff, even though the spacious interior was almost empty. Other guests, mostly European, were allowed to sit inside. This gave me the impression that I was being treated differently as a foreign guest. Furthermore, my plate was cleared without my request – I wasn't asked if I wanted more food or if I needed anything else. Then, without asking, I was told directly, "Your bill is €21," even though I hadn't asked for the bill. Nevertheless, I paid €23 to demonstrate that a guest's worth shouldn't be judged by their appearance, skin color, or hair color. Overall, the restaurant seemed rather unwelcoming to non-European guests.

I am from berlin and first time visiting this Restaurant, Really its so delicious and quantity is too much. Customer service is extraordinary. I recommend. Chicken kadai is the best which i have tried

I have visited many restaurants during my stay in different cities of Germany but when i visited the historical city of germany named as Dresden I went to the Indian restaurant *Ganesha Indisches Restaurant* and order different dishes but the taste was mind blowing with their presentation and service and authenticity🤤. They care about the hygiene. I strongly recommend everyone to visit this restaurant whenever you go to Dresden✌🏼

Found this on Google maps and decided to visit, after reading wonderful reviews and good prices. The welcome was warm and the restaurant was pretty busy for lunchtime (special afternoon lunch offers). The food was served fast and it was super tasty! Everything was flavored to the max with authentic Indian spices and herbs. The interior is cute and colorful, decorated with statues and paintings. The toilets were also clean and fresh. Great staff, lovely location, and yummy food! Only point of negativity: card payments are difficult! Be ready to pay by cash.

Always a busy restaurant, the food is good, the service sometimes seems a bit stressed, but is still friendly. Food arrives quickly.

We absolutely love going here. We really like the restaurant. If we don't eat in, we often take the food home with us. Everyone is very friendly and efficient, and the food is delicious. There's something for everyone who enjoys authentic cuisine. We've never been disappointed and wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Good but nothing special and can not pay with Mastercard

On the positive side, the food was absolutely delicious and definitely makes you want to come back. We really enjoyed it. We were there on a Saturday, and it was very busy, with many table reservations. This caused stress for the staff, which unfortunately affected the guests. Our reservation was shortened by 30 minutes right at the beginning. The staff also seemed quite agitated. This detracted significantly from the ambiance and made it less than pleasant. What was completely unacceptable was the smell in the restroom. That was a definite no-go and can't be blamed on any of the guests. Nevertheless, the food pleasantly surprised us, and we want to give the restaurant another chance, just not on the weekend.

Sharoz and chef sukhjinder both are good the place is quite and service is perfect 👌 the background music is very good

Food is nice, service is a bit disturbing. The tomato soup was great. For the Fisch dish there were two problems: the parsley was simply old. The worst was that a waiter told me it was Lachs (salmon), and in fact it was Seelachs! A completely different fish. They didn't compensate that anyhow and I was really tired and had little time to wait for another dish or even to choose that. In the end they told me they accept Essenkarte; I don't know what it is (my German is not so great), and I can't find it even in my dictionary. I proposed cash, then I found out that they accept debit cards. They read me a lecture that I should have said not credit card, but that debit card. In the end they didn't even say goodbye to me, but said Thank you. They also said that I can't buy salmon for 17 euro, but I know that fish well and I regularly buy it in a vegetarian restaurant in Aachen, I don't think they deceive me. I went out more stressed than I came! This is terrible. They also serve very quick; there was little free place and I felt they wanted me to leave as soon as possible (though I may be wrong). There were many waiters around me; I can't say that it is always bad though. From the good side, they give you some bread and sauces as Vorspeise (appetisers). I came to them because of a good rating, but it is definitely overpriced for that quality. I put 3 stars, because I think it can be worse in theory. The food was rather good.

We visited Ganesha Restaurant for the first time yesterday, and we were completely impressed by its flavor. The food was well-seasoned without being too spicy, and the portions were generous, so we even took some home with us. The service was friendly and courteous. For us, everything about this restaurant was just perfect, and we'd be happy to return.

We went with large group without reservation but owner and staff was nice they arranged the seats for us and food was also nice and also staff behaviour was awesome, overall good place to have Indian food👍.

The service was attentive, friendly, and competent—questions about spiciness or food recommendations were readily answered. The staff took time for special requests and seemed to be well-coordinated with the kitchen. Food & Drinks: The menu offers a good selection of classic Indian dishes—from curries and tandoori to vegetarian and vegan alternatives. I ordered Krahi Paneer, Paneer Chili, and Jalfrezi with naan bread. The Krahi Paneer was moist and well-seasoned without being overly spicy—just the right balance. The Paneer Chili was aromatic, delicately spiced, and beautifully presented. Prices are moderate for Dresden – according to information, between approximately €15 and €20 for main courses. Highlights Flavor: The dishes demonstrated authentic Indian spices and preparation – not just "Westernized." Good selection of vegetarian/vegan options, which isn't always the case with Indian restaurants. If one is in Dresden, then this is one place to try to have exact Indian ambience...filled with nostalgia. Staff is amazing, super customer friendly and have an eye for minor details on taking order, serving. Food is served with minimum waiting time. Punjabi Lassi, Kadai Paneer, Jalfrezi all have good quantity.

Biryani is not equal to rice with some half cooked chicken. Very disappointed. I heard a lot about this restaurant that, this is the best in Dresden. But my experience was horrible in terms of food, but service and overall environment was one of the best I have experienced in Europe. Please bring the originality in the food as you have good service and environment.

If someone finds it unwelcoming or cold, it wouldn't be an exaggeration. That inconsistency in customer interaction is something that could be improved. However, the most surprising and frankly frustrating part of the experience is their payment policy. They do not accept standard debit or credit cards, including Visa or Mastercard. They only accept German EC (Giro) cards or cash. For a restaurant in such a central, tourist-friendly location, this is a major inconvenience, especially for international visitors who are unlikely to carry a German bank card. If you're visiting from abroad, you’ll have to be prepared to pay with cash, which isn’t always practical or expected in a place like this. In summary, while Ganesha has a good location and an enjoyable ambiance, the overall experience could be much better. The restaurant should really reconsider its payment options and ensure that the service is consistently professional. Until then, it might work for a quick vegetarian meal, but not without a few compromises.

After moving to Saxon Switzerland, we were looking for a good Indian restaurant because we love the cuisine. Based on the reviews, we made the trip to try Ganesha. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The staff is friendly—aloof, but that's perfectly fine. The beer garden is also nice and cozy. But unfortunately, the food wasn't our style at all. It was quite lightly spiced by Indian standards. I ordered duck vindaloo because I love spicy food. As usual, vindaloo was also marked as very spicy. But unfortunately, we were miles away from "very" spicy. Besides, a proper chicken (or in my case, duck) vindaloo should have potatoes. One had found its way into my portion... The appetizers were unfortunately bland, as were the dips. My husband had a grilled dish, and he also found the seasoning to be virtually nonexistent. The sauce tasted bland and thin. Only the naan bread was great. So we're continuing our search. Very sad 🥺

I have visited this restaurant countless times with friends, colleagues and my parents and every time the food has been simply TOP! It's quite different from other Indian restaurants as it doesn't taste all that uniformly the same. The lunch specials are particularly appreciated and welcomed. And when the weather is warm there is an option to sit outside. With plenty of seating available, you can really dine outdoors at lunchtime and in the evening when the sun is shining. The food is also served fairly quickly after ordering, which makes the visit all the more enjoyable. Please keep it up, because me and my companions will definitely come back!

A truly poor experience. More staff than customers, and then we were put in the restaurant's storage room. The information on the menu is incorrect, and when we finally got our "vegan" dishes, we felt a bit uneasy about whether it was all true. The lentil soup and the Ganesha dhal were mediocre. I asked for spicy sauce and then again for salt, and I couldn't shake the feeling that the waiter didn't really want any customers. Not even the few that were there. So, all in all, there really are better Indian restaurants. You can definitely give this one a wide berth. I don't understand why it has a 4.8 rating here.
