Very adapted to German cuisine. I missed the wonderful flavors that make Indian dishes so delicious.🫚🌶️🥥 Card payment was not possible. Apparently the card reader wasn't working. Only cash payment!!? But without an invoice. And not just for us. Illegal work sends its regards. Definitely not acceptable 😣😡

Nice employees. Requests are addressed without any problems. Food is prepared quickly and tastes very good. However, I think the portion is relatively small and I would be happy on my next visit if I left the table full. But in itself recommended.

It's best to reserve a table in advance as it is often very busy. There is a lot of choice of dishes, including for vegetarians. The food comes quickly and is very tasty and authentic. Definitely recommended!

I've tried so many Indian restaurants abroad but this has been the best so far. The food is authentic, high-quality, and generously portioned. I recommend their chicken saag, paneer butter masala, and chicken tikka masala. The complimentary rice and fresh, soft naan, along with excellent service makes it even better. Also, they never ask customers to give them reviews unlike other restaurants. I highly recommend this place for an authentic North Indian cuisine experience!

Because of the many positive reviews, we reserved a table for New Year's Eve and were unfortunately a little disappointed. The restaurant is a bit shabby, the food is good and the service is only geared towards speed. Unfortunately, going out for a nice meal looks different - it's a shame.

Best Indian food ever, Best hospitality 👌👌

I have been here 5times, the experience is getting worse everytime. Recently during my last visit: I called them to reserve a table for 6.30PM but they suggest me to book early or later, 1st shock. Then, in the restaurant they served all the food items together, including soup/ starter and main course. They have good rush but that doesn't mean their service can be disregarded. And the menu have pictures with std. Tandoori chicken but they serve Tandoori chicken Tikka. Silly. I hated this even more when I took my friends. Anyway I am done with this restaurant. Never going back.

Unfortunately, there was no room for us in the actual main room despite reservations. Every few minutes we sat at the table right next to the entrance in the icy draft of the open entrance door while people waiting were so close to the table that one lady almost knocked over our drink. The hustle and bustle behind the bar, the running back and forth and jostling of the waiters and discussions about any tables that might become available rounded off the ambience. Unfortunately it wasn't a successful evening. The food was okay and came promptly, the service was mostly nice, so everything was OK so far.

Food was horrible, I struggle to understand why this restaurant has such high rating! In the end, they also insisted on cash payments and we had to go out to withdraw cash for the payments. Not recommended.

Das indische Restaurant Ganesha in der Dresdner Südvorstadt ist im Untergeschoss eines Wohnhauses untergebracht. Ich hatte 4 Wochen vorher per Online Formular reserviert incl. Mailbestätigung. Vor Ort hatte man im händisch geschriebenen Reservierungsbuch keinen Eintrag. Die Räumlichkeiten waren extrem einfach gestaltet, mit "typischen" ?? indischen Ausstattungsmerkmalen. Scheinbar sollte eine Art Höhle dargestellt werden mit Pappdekoration an der Wand/ Decke. Für mich wirkte das verstörend. Nachdem wir kurz Platz genommen hatten, wurde ich mehr oder weniger vom Servicemitarbeiter getrieben mir eine Speise zu suchen, da die anderen beiden Freunde am Tisch bereits gewählt hatten bzw. sich schnell entschieden hatten. Ein ruhiges Studium der Karte musste also wegfallen. Absolutes No-Go für mich. Der Service war über den Abend verteilt, teils freundlich, teils wirklich unfreundlich, teils verwirrt und vergesslich. Wir bestellten 2x Naan Brot mit 3 Dips. Das Naanbrot war teils verbrannt, ziemlich fettig. Die Dips schmeckten total wässrig ohne wirkliche Würze. Weiterhin hatten wir 2x Chicken Curry und 1x Lamm-Curry, jeweils mit Reis. Die Hauptgerichte haben ganz gut geschmeckt. Bei der Bezahlung wurden wir wieder etwas grob an die Bar gebeten. Eine Kartenzahlung wurde nicht akzeptiert bzw. herrschte beim Personal Verwirrung. Für mich war es der erste und letzte Besuch im Ganesha.

Chosen and went spontaneously and it was a very good decision. The service was great, we didn't have to wait long and the employees were friendly. The food was incredibly tasty, with a good amount to fill you up. A clear recommendation with the temptation to go back!

During our stay in Dresden we became aware of the restaurant “Ganesha” via Google. The very good reviews convinced us, so we walked here early on a Sunday evening after our visit to the Dresden Zoo. We were sure that we wouldn't have to book a table for a Sunday evening (it was 5 p.m. - we arrived at the restaurant right when it opened). The extremely friendly waiter more or less complimented us into the heated outdoor area. That was a bit strange at first. After all, it was already mid-September and not exactly warm - but he pointed out the numerous radiant heaters available. In fact, it was precisely these heaters that kept us nice and warm all evening, so much so that we were even able to take off our jackets. The fact that we should please sit outside was also explained within minutes. The restaurant became increasingly full and full and an hour later everything was full both inside and outside. In short: we strongly recommend reserving a table in advance!!! It quickly became clear why the restaurant was so incredibly well attended - since we ourselves have never had such good Indian food anywhere. It was incredible. But one thing after the other: the drinks we ordered came quickly, the beer tasted like everywhere else, and the wine was extremely tasty. Our main courses were Chicken Saag (chicken breast fillet in spinach), Fish Krahi and Tandoori Chicken Tikka (chicken breast fillet marinated according to a North Indian recipe). Papadams and sauces were served in advance. The wait for food was completely reasonable. Rice was served with the meal. The rice was so wonderfully harmoniously seasoned - with whole star anise, carma pods, etc., that we have never eaten anywhere else before... and we have actually visited a few Indians... The chicken and spinach dish and the fish are dishes that every Indian restaurant offers, but the taste is not always convincing. The dishes at “Ganesha” were extremely tasty. But besides the rice, the Tandoori Chicken Tikka was the most impressive. From the description you couldn't imagine anything other than chicken breast fillet from the tandoor - here too we noticed serious differences. But at "Ganesha" this dish was a dream... the chicken was fantastically seasoned and perfectly fried/grilled and, above all, it was served on a kind of vegetable bed with a variety of vegetables (from cucumbers, tomatoes and carrots to broccoli, cauliflower and peas ) served. The vegetables were extremely diverse. The whole thing was topped off with, among other things: fresh herbs and ginger sticks. The whole dish was amazing - just perfect... In short: if we didn't live so far away, we would be regular guests here. The restaurant impressed us across the board. P.S. the prices were reasonable and everything was clean.

It was known to be a good restaurant, but it is also using the cheap tactics like other restaurants. I was served the rice which was atleast 24 hours old. It was almost getting spoilt.

I live in Berlin, where it's hard to find authentic Indian food. I've heard a lot about the Ganesha Indian Restaurant in Dresden from friends, and I was finally able to try it out. Even though we hadn't reserved a table, the staff was very friendly and quickly reserved one for us. The food was absolutely fantastic! We had Kadai Paneer, Shahi Paneer, Paneer Kofta, Garlic Naan and Onion Naan. Everything was so delicious and had the real taste of Indian cuisine. The service was excellent. They checked on us several times to see if everything was okay and if we needed anything. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Indian food. It's worth a visit!

We tried Ganesha Restaurant as our favorite Indian restaurant was fully booked and the reviews looked promising. Unfortunately we were very disappointed: - It's cramped and crowded, and the service is rushing and pushing. You get the feeling that they want to get the guests out as quickly as possible because the table will be needed for the next guests in two hours. So you can't sit in peace and enjoy the evening comfortably. - The food was bad. The mixed vegetarian pakora was more batter than vegetables. Some dishes - chicken korma, butter chicken - were so full of sugar that they were barely edible. We ordered different types of naan, all of which were drowned in oil and tasted no different from each other. The malai kofta was particularly bad - supposedly fried paneer, but the balls that were in the gravy were some disgusting dough. No trace of cheese. The rice didn't taste like much, even though there were a lot of spices in it. Finally, the mango lassi was too sweet. Overall, the offering is very much tailored to the German palate and has little in common with authentic Indian food. And way too much sugar! Unfortunately, only old EC cards are accepted. No current debit cards now issued by most banks. So it's better to have enough cash with you... Conclusion: So far the worst "Indian" restaurant in Dresden - and I've been to every... I've been to India several times and know what I'm talking about... This means that Ganesha is not recommended! We won't go there again!

The food was very good, but you should leave your jacket on because the request to leave came pretty quickly after eating, despite the glasses being full. You get rid of the table faster than you would like.

The Paneer Kadhai was perfectly seasoned with a rich, spicy gravy that was bursting with authentic Indian flavor. The onion naan was soft, fresh and went perfectly with the dish. The combination was simply heavenly. The service was excellent and the ambience added to the delightful dining experience. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is in the mood for authentic and delicious Indian cuisine.

A must-visit restaurant for anyone who loves Indian food! The restaurant is hidden in a quiet corner of Dresden, but believe me, it's worth looking for. The food is creative, delicious and perfectly prepared. Be sure to try the karai paneer, onion naan and mango lassi for dessert!

The best experience ever, I mean, I have explored a bunch of Indian restaurants here in Germany but no one was the kind owner and employees like these guys. Very nice food as well. For sure visit nice time. Must try "kahari paneer and butter naan".

We went here for dinner with work colleagues. When we arrived the restaurant was already surprisingly full, but we still managed to get a table. The service was very friendly and the food came to the table almost at the speed of light. Everything tasted delicious and there was so much that we all had a portion for lunch the next day. The price was also completely reasonable! We'd love to come back

Every month my friends and I visit some foreign cuisine in Dresden, this time we chose India. Ganesha exceeded our expectations. Staff at a great level, atmosphere authentic, huge selection of food, everything tasted very good. The prices match the quality. I was very pleasantly surprised by the Indian draft beer. We would love to come back, it was a real experience for me.

I visited this Indian restaurant. It’s a busy place, so it’s best to have a reservation beforehand. The food was enjoyable—I especially liked the samosa and the special thali, though a few more curry options in the thali would have been nice. Overall, it was a good experience with very friendly staff.

We came because of the good reviews and had also heard that Indians like to visit the restaurant, which would indicate authentic cuisine. The rooms make a cozy but somewhat cramped impression. The three of us chose 3 main courses (Tandoori Chicken, Lamb Madras and Aloo Gobi) and extra garlic naan. The tandoori chicken was ok. The two curry dishes were very creamy and had neither heat nor spice (which is what Indian cuisine in particular should be). Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing evening for us overall.

This restaurant is definitely worth a visit. As expected, Friday evening it was quite full, but the nice, friendly staff still found space for us. It was clean, comfortable and the service was quick. I didn't know the Indian restaurant yet, but I would like to try it again.

We were guests here last night quite spontaneously and of course we didn't have a reservation. Although the restaurant was very busy, we were very kindly asked to wait a moment and were then shown to our table. The entire staff is very, very friendly and helpful. Recommendations are made if you have problems with the choice of food or drink. And the food is just incredibly good. Fresh ingredients, lots of spices, tender meat, different naan breads... I can really only recommend this restaurant, thank you very much for the lovely evening with you!

Because of the many positive reviews, we decided to visit the restaurant. We had already reserved by email in advance and stated that we would have a toddler and a baby with us. Our reservation was then confirmed and we were assured that there would be a high chair at the table and space for the stroller. Apparently there was a lack of coordination internally. Nothing was prepared and it was clear that the staff were annoyed and reluctant to get a high chair and make room for the car. The mood was noticeably bad and we didn't feel welcome with children. After a short time we decided to leave the restaurant with the child while the rest of the family stayed to celebrate their birthday. They described the food to us as very good. At the table opposite we heard the owner telling the guests that they should hurry up and still have an hour to eat. We definitely cannot recommend the restaurant with children and will go somewhere else at the next celebration, despite the good food, in order to experience a pleasant atmosphere and friendliness when visiting the restaurant.

We actually enjoyed going there. The food is good. The last three times we ate there, we paid €10 more each time than it actually cost (without a bill, of course). During the last few pickups we always received the food differently than what we ordered and were not satisfied. That's really disappointing!

Update 2024: In terms of taste, it's simply the best Indian in Dresden and once you've eaten here a few times, you won't want to go anywhere else. The paneer in particular is extremely good, fresh, juicy and has the perfect consistency. There are also plenty of vegetables with the dishes. The rice is also mixed with spices and is simply heavenly. Another recommendation is the naan bread, which is airy, delicious and mixed with herbs. On nice days you can sit outside comfortably and comfortably. There are also some seats inside, but they don't offer as much light because the restaurant is in the basement.

The best place in dresden to have a biriyani. Most of the dishes are very close to the actual Indian food.

There was a crazy wait time of 40-45 mins to bring 2 regular menu items on to the table while the visitors number was average. Food and presentation brought some joy at the end.

Sucha a poor service here. They are taking upto 1hr to serve the food. Because of that we missed our train. If you have enough time then it's good to go there.

Initially, everything was going well. Our waiter was great, and the food was good too. However, when it was time for payment, a different person brought the check and informed us that they do not accept credit cards, insisting that we pay in cash. We had to withdraw cash from an ATM to make the payment. Despite politely requesting a receipt multiple times, he refused to provide one. We had to leave without a receipt, which was frustrating.

It's decent food, but it's not worth going. Fast and good service. I tried 4 different dishes, and I couldn't eat more than a few scoops. If you are a fan of Indian food you may like it, but I didn't like it.

Friendly service and wonderful food. The basmati rice with cardamom, cinnamon, star anise and cloves is something special, the main courses showcase the diversity of Indian spices, the dessert Phirni is delicious and the mango lassi is creamy and fruity. We will go here again on our next visit to Dresden.

The restaurant is on a quiet street and parking is on the side of the road. It is very pleasant to sit outside under the umbrellas and enjoy the very good Indian food.
