Fürstenberg Bräustüble in Donaueschingen

The boiled beef was excellent, the trout fillet had a lot of seasoning but very little or not at all. The vegetables and fried potatoes were also rather bland and cooked too soft. For that money we would rather eat somewhere else.

We went to the Bräustüble for lunch on Friday. The food was good and the portions were quite large, which makes the price/performance ratio reasonable. It is a very nice restaurant and the service was very nice. The concept is designed to benefit the host. While in most other restaurants you have to pay extra for the salad and then maybe forego the salad, here the salad is included and the side dishes have to be ordered separately. Very clever! Unfortunately there were problems with the heating and we were cold to the bone.

The service was very on the ball and very friendly, the place was very full and it was extremely loud. Regarding the food, I can say that the portions are very generous and tasty. But we didn't like the menu in that you choose your main course and then also have to choose the side dishes and sauce. Everything is charged extra, which makes the whole thing explode in price. It's a shame, because that's why we won't be seen there again.

Oh well. For the price, the food could be a little better. Strangely smooth spaetzle, shouldn't they be more porous? The seasonal beer was tasty but not for the Swabian housewife.

Salad, veal schnitzel with spaetzle and mushroom cream sauce were great this time! The service - well, you were "very happy" that the ducks were all gone the day before. Interesting, we would have been even happier if the ducks promised over the phone had been available. Previous 2-star review 2022: The salad: creative with various vegetables, mushrooms and potatoes. However, that's a matter of taste, too much liquid for me and some of it felt like it was canned. The steak: quite tough and quite raw for medium. All of this for a hefty price.

Very friendly staff, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was ideal. They also gave my dog ​​a water bowl three times (despite moving it). Very satisfied with this restaurant, definitely recommended!

Eating properly, too much sweetener in the salad, portions too large. Personally, I would prefer quality and smaller portions. Preferably more transparency and farm-raised meat or organic. But unfortunately everything comes from large fattening farms.

Everything is just right here. The service is fantastic, everyone is very child friendly and accommodating. We ate very well. For me there was a vegan alternative that was also really tasty. The portions are all very generous, but another plus point is that you can get reusable bowls to take the leftovers with you. We'll definitely come again.

... a Bräustüble, as one commonly imagines it.. in Bavaria they tend to call it "Schwemme", but here in Swabia it's a Bräustüble, with one of the best beers in the world at that.. but as we all know, that's not in the eye of the viewer, but rather in his palate.. First of all, the service, who was very friendly and attentive and really on the ball. The food we ordered came in a reasonable time, the shop was packed and so it took a while. But then the disappointment...okay, the schnitzels were really delicious and tasty, but what was presented as cheese spaetzle deserves to be called "pasta with a layer of cheese in close connection"... and then there were also onions far dry, probably from the deep fryer or just sulphured... an absolute no-go in this form of Swabian home cooking. Greetings to the kitchen: I think you can do better... and today was a lot going on and not "your day" anyway. The noise in the restaurant is enormous and is guaranteed to prevent dialogue with the person sitting next to you. All in all, an “experience” that you don’t need very often.

In the romantic niches you have something for yourself. Which we really enjoyed. The food was very good and the portion was very large. We took the leftovers with us in a doggy bag for 1 euro. The serving staff is mostly very friendly. We'd love to come back.

I had a black beer roast with salad and fries. The roast was delicious and tender and tasty. The salad was a bit vinegary and the fries were crispy and tasty. My group's food was also good. We would like to highlight the service. They were super friendly. A young man and a very nice, funny woman. We found it nice, warm and cozy in the restaurant and would love to come back.

The restaurant is comfortably furnished. The service was very friendly and quick. The menu offers typical delicacies, but also regional dishes. The goose breast was tender. The venison goulash was also tender. Both dishes tasted very good. The cheese spaetzle had a strong taste. The trout fillets are juicy, the vegetables are not soggy but firm to the bite. Conclusion: We were positively surprised. You get more than you initially expect. Significantly better than some of the cuisine in other typical pubs.

Special German food I have tasted and loved

An absolute horror experience for regular guests and others. Beware of new staff without etiquette and customer focus. We were regulars at the Bräustüble. Excellent food, great service team, great ambience. We had booked a table for 5 p.m. Beautiful romantic corner spot for two. And then our horror experience today. A boorish, arrogant young waiter takes the drinks and condescendingly points out that food is only available from 5:30 p.m. and that he cannot take an order before then. He brings the drinks but no menu and then ignores us. When asked by a young colleague, she replied just as condescendingly and without any instinct for the situation: food would only be available from 5.30 p.m. and we should be patient. That was just too much for us and we said that we would leave now and that we had enough. Instead of dealing with our complaint professionally, the young lady just says that we should pay before we leave. It was an absolute disgrace how we were treated as regulars. Bottom drawer. No level. Schwarzwald Hüsle GmbH will certainly be able to cope with it economically, but we will avoid the Fürstenberg-Bräustüble for a very long time, like the devil avoids holy water, and we will spread the word.

Close too early...but that's common for German country side

Anyone who thinks the restaurants on Lake Constance are expensive have never been to Donaueschingen. If I had to pay extra for side dishes and sauces, the food was way too expensive. Donaueschingen is also not particularly noteworthy in terms of tourism. Don't have to come back.

First of all, the waitresses were very nice! Unfortunately, the food was half the size, the schnitzel tasted like a swollen sponge, even a frozen schnitzel is better! The Kässpätzle are far too expensive at €20 for something that tastes like everything else except Käsespätzle. An extra €1 is charged for a box to take away, something I've never experienced before. Was our first and last visit. For that price I'll go to a nicer restaurant!

Yes, we can agree with that. Food is good average. We had the meal of the day for €10.90. Additional ketchup for the fries, served in a mini glass (comparable to a shot glass) is an additional €0.90. It was just enough for 10 fries 😉 But in the Ländle people save money 😀 Service was very friendly, but there won't be a second visit.

We were there for lunch in a smaller group of 5 people. All of us had the daily menu for €10.90 including salad or soup. There's nothing wrong with the food. The salad was nicely prepared and fresh. The soup was also very tasty. The main course, consisting of fries with pork steak and herb butter, was garnished with a dried tomato and rosemary. The drink cost extra, but that's usually how it is. All in all, highly recommended. There are only 2 points we didn't like. A small portion of ketchup for 90 cents and extra sauce for €2. It would also be desirable if the daily lunch menu could also be accessed online. Currently, someone always has to walk by there and see what’s there. But all in all remarkable and recommended.

It's nice to sit in the middle of Donaueschingen. Food is OK, but nothing more, but prices are quite high, especially since the side dishes and even some sauce are charged separately. Price/performance is rather poor.

Nice ambience Food: had a 300gr. When I ordered roast onion medium, I got 2 pieces, one medium, one through. I complained and got a small beef steak about 100 grams when I was finished eating the meat was very fibrous. Service: Beer order was wrong. Service worker was uncoordinated. Said it was nice that mistakes happen in the kitchen. The salads came after the meal. The service staff couldn't say goodbye. It's a shame, the ambience looked great, the kitchen was ok when everything was right and the waiter probably didn't have a good day today. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant again and I won't go there again.

The place is beautiful. We went there on a Friday afternoon just before 5pm and were told that the kitchen was closed and that the cook was coming back at 5:30pm and that we couldn't order food. Inside, after a while, people sat down at reserved tables and the waitress asked them what salad they would get. Pure disappointment they did not want to serve us. They don't want many tourists, what can I say.

I was just there and waited ages to order. Then I changed the table because of the sun and wanted ask someone if I may order something. Then the waiter was kinda laughing and mentioned it was my fault if I change tables and said I had to wait for the other responsible waiter. I decided to save the effort for him and left to eat at another place.

A very beautiful restaurant, dishes that you can compose to your liking, generous portions, local dishes. The servers are in traditional clothes and very efficient. A historic brewery very close to one of the sources of the Danube. Possibility of eating outside in good weather.

Came around 8pm, asked for a table. I was ignored for 30 minutes. Then got the menu, waited again. Then: Kitchen is closed. 40 minutes later I'm still waiting for the beer I ordered. Hopefully an isolated case...

We went there for dinner today and chose the Bräustüble based on the good reviews. Now we can't understand how this restaurant gets these recessions? The greeting and the request for a free table was so unfriendly that we actually wanted to leave straight away. But since we were passing through we didn't have much choice. All employees felt overwhelmed and so unfriendly with a manageable terrace despite 5 colleagues. And unfortunately the ordering continued, very stroppy and gave you the feeling that you weren't welcome. Unfortunately, the food continued, I had a veal schnitzel, which had nothing to do with a schnitzel but was almost similar to a steak, and the quality of the meat was not good. When the plates were cleared, no one even asked if the food was good! The prices are way too high and not at all reasonable. We wouldn't recommend the Bräustüble and think that's a shame. But apparently people no longer have to rely on being friendly these days.

Dogs aren't really welcome, although a hunting dog statue at the main entrance suggests otherwise. We had already sat down in the beer garden with our small dog coming from the Sighthound Festival. The waiter warmly welcomed the four-legged friend and took the order. The beer garden is equipped with typical rustic wooden tables and folding chairs, without upholstery or other seating cushions. As usual, our dog got his seat pad and lay motionless on the chair next to his owner. When the drinks were served, the inn manager suddenly came over and immediately reprimanded him harshly, saying the dog had to get off the chair. "The sound makes the music" - I can see that with a larger, shaggy, drooling other animal but not in this case. Although we have been to completely different restaurants where there were no complaints. Discussion with this gentleman was pointless - hospitality is different! We canceled lunch and looked for another location - it was Italian, where Iggy was also welcome.

Afterwards something sweet, the variation of everything was very good. The country beer from the Steinkrug is a recommendation. Staff is very nice and attentive. Good, clean, fast despite the store being full. The outside area is pleasant. Unfortunately it's just a bit hard to sit. All in all, still highly recommended.

Visited the Bräustüble last night, got a nice seat outside..very good food..black beer roast with fried potatoes, salad and a fitness salad with fried chanterelles..very tasty..the service was very friendly..we liked it and will definitely be back definitely again!

The atmosphere at Fürstenberg Bräustüble is relaxed and inviting. There is space to sit, both inside and outside, and the decor is tasteful and cozy. Especially on sunny days, the outdoor area is a wonderful place to relax after a bike ride and enjoy the surroundings.

It was our first time in this city and we visited this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend. My assessment: The atmosphere of the place, the optics, the cleanliness of the washroom perfectly meet all expectations. I would like to highlight the automatic doorknob hand sanitizer in the washroom, as well as the cozy bird whistle in the washroom. The tables and chairs, as well as the environment, are pleasant, not ostentatious, and clean. The staff is polite, dressed according to tradition, kind, attentive and helpful. I would like to point out here that since only one of us ate soup, the server asked if he could bring out the order at the same time. He also informed me about the expected preparation time of the food. The food: The food was extremely tasty, the portions were generous, but not overwhelming. The flavors are fantastic, the flavoring and seasoning are just right, the side dishes are fresh, and the meat is perfectly prepared. The coffee was also delicious. A traditional restaurant in a great location in Donaueschingen. We ate there as a group of about 25 people. The waitresses were very nice and got along well with the large group. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the food, the portions were relatively small and therefore very expensive and, above all, very different in size from plate to plate, the cheese spaetzle and apparently also the dumplings were pretty tasteless. I find it inappropriate to have to pay extra for a small helping of sauce.

The owner of the brewery made fun of our choice of drinks and insulted us several times as “softies”. We were also made to look stupid by a service staff because we had a jacket with us for the evening in warm temperatures. I have never experienced such disrespectful behavior from an owner and a service person towards customers (35 year old men). The Braustüble is not recommended for guests from big cities - the attitude of the staff is unfortunately still too biased and too narrow-minded.

Dry roast pork slices with a small salad (heaped in a kind of tea cup) for around €18. All side dishes are extra. It wasn't worth the money but no reason to write a review. When the weather was beautiful, the only guests who didn't want to sit in the blazing sun were seated indoors at a table in the walkway to the kitchen and toilet by the apparently overwhelmed and arrogant operator. No reason yet either. However, a radio station was playing relatively loudly with completely horrible music. We asked the waiter to turn it down a bit or, better yet, turn it off (we were the only guests inside). After the third request and after the food was on the table, the waiter informed us that the boss wouldn't do anything about it, Basta. Accompanied by the latest war reports from Ukraine, loud shouts of “Lidl is worth it”, interrupted by annoying, simply bad music, we washed down our borderline food with lots of beer. Luckily my wife had ear plugs with her and we hurried to leave this unfriendly and annoying place. That's what it's like when you let yourself be lured by a 4-star review (however it came about) to a restaurant in a good walking location, where an apparently over-saturated and blasé operator no longer needs it.

Hospitality has a name: “Bräustüble” We were able to eat very well there in a beautiful room. The staff were very courteous and attentive. A special feature was that the innkeeper rushed out of the door onto the street to help a driver who had lost his way in his tractor-trailer and had to reverse on the main road. Simply a wonderful human gesture with rarity value. Respect.

I would like to briefly describe our reservation for May 30, 2024, as it is not my style at all to give a one star review, as I am well aware of my position as a 7 star reviewer. We made a reservation for 10 people and called for 7:30 p.m., we were not told that the kitchen closes at 8:00 p.m. We got there at 7:45 p.m. We were then told that we wouldn't get anything to eat because the last order had to be placed at 7:45 p.m. In my opinion, this is a “no go”. Especially since it was very embarrassing for the managing directors and business partners present. In this day and age, it's not possible on a public holiday to be praised in a “friendly” way. Therefore, I cannot expressly recommend the service. I can't say anything about the quality of the food, and it shouldn't be the subject of this review.
