What can you say, ambience TOP, service TOP, kitchen TOP! Recommendation 100 percent.

We spontaneously went to eat here. The service was super friendly and the food was really good. The ambience is great and the location itself is something different. I can only recommend it

Very good service, exceptionally good food. Very good wine accompaniment. Perfect location for a good business dinner or special appointments.

I'm pleasantly surprised to find such a great location in the middle of the former Expo country pavilions and the commercial area that hasn't really been developed yet. The food was very tasty, visually very appealing and of high quality. The portion was adequate for a lunch, but the price was definitely high. I will verify the latter again outside of lunchtime. Then it definitely gets 5 stars, because the service and ambience are definitely worth the extra charge.

The staff was very professional, quickly attentive and polite. The food was exceptionally good and not too scarce either. High quality wines. Price and performance are definitely right! Great location!!

The shop was empty and we were turned away… very unfriendly service. It's a shame - we had heard good things - but we can't simply recommend it.

We've been coming to the Funky Kitchen on a regular basis for years - everything was always delicious. We were particularly impressed by the surprise menu. All dishes have a sophisticated touch and every palate should actually find something on the (changing) menu. The service is always nice, relaxed and professional. We were able to host our first big celebration there this year. Everything went great here too and all the guests were super happy. Thank you again for this! The location is also very appealing, especially on the terrace in summer. You can park very well there.

I would prefer not to recommend the restaurant!! Not because it doesn't taste good, the service isn't good, the staff is inattentive or there's no parking, but for purely selfish reasons... most of the time I don't get a table...😉

Wonderfully delicious food, attentive and friendly service, and an appealing ambience. The roof terrace with a view of the Kronsberg is a real pearl! Recommendation: The surprise menu.

Very nice and well-equipped restaurant. The roof terrace is wonderful. The service is always there when you need it, but otherwise it stays in the background. The 3-course surprise menu is highly recommended. It's a very nice restaurant where the price is absolutely justified.

The two of us were here on April 18, 2024. First of all, we would like to thank you for the great hospitality. The staff is very polite but not intrusive, which created a very pleasant atmosphere. We were satisfied with the food and will recommend it to others (we also came on a recommendation). I rarely give 5 stars, for me they belong in a very good star restaurant (if it was very good). The wine selection is not that large, but it is very well sorted. I like that. Pages of wine lists rarely help me. So thank you again for the good pre-selection. In summer it is definitely worth a visit on the large terrace with the beautiful, wide view. We'll test it out when the weather is nice. So dear readers, go and try it!

Update March 28, 2024. It was a dream again. Food, drinks, service and JP gave everything again. It doesn't get any better. Perfect. Back at JP for the first time after Corona. There were again thousands of taste explosions in the mouth. Kitchen and staff simply top.

Unusual location on the exhibition grounds that you have to go to specifically. Given its somewhat hidden location, there are probably no random guests there. The interior design is very stylish, modern and overall harmonious. This also applies to the chairs, which are my only criticism of our visit. Although they look very good, they were rather uncomfortable for me. Apart from that, the service was calm, friendly and attentive. The food was exceptionally good. I had the veal chop, which I expected to be a small portion when ordering, in keeping with the restaurant's more upscale concept. The opposite was the case, an unusually large, buttery tender cutlet came with a great, very intense jus and well-dressed side dishes. Next to Maxes in Langenhagen, this is the best meal in Hanover so far for me. We will be back :)

A good place for a good dinner!

Excellent cuisine, competent service, nice ambience - I would find the carpaccio better if it were traditional. Because we ordered the surprise menu once, we have now had it twice more. The hearty curry soup with shrimp is particularly recommended, as is the beef fillet.

The food and drinks were again excellent and the service was attentive and very friendly. I can recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience.

Incredibly nice service staff. The food was great. It sounds like supposedly simple dishes that are then very cleverly refined. There aren't many spaces, which makes for a wonderfully private and quiet atmosphere. Absolutely reasonable price for the quality. We'd love to come back.

We wanted to have lunch on the occasion of a concert in the ZAG Arena. Funky Kitchen was chosen because of the positive reviews. These are absolutely justified. The friendly and attentive service served the surprise lunch menu in a pleasant atmosphere. The potato soup with balsamic vinegar was a wonderful start. The flamed salmon had the desired roasted flavors on the outside and was cooked to perfection on the inside without losing its juiciness. The risotto bed and the caramelized vegetables were hardly inferior in taste. Perfect! The price was reasonable. We'd love to come back

Food... well... the meat was so hard and tough that it was almost impossible to cut with the knives available. The staff is beyond ignorant

Good food at a fine dining level. Excellently prepared dishes without extraordinary creativity, but with the products as the focus and also visually appealing. In addition, friendly, unobtrusive service that combines excellent politeness with contemporary relaxedness. An all-round pleasant evening, also with an excellent price-performance ratio.

Das Essen ist super lecker! Wir hatten als Vorspeise Süskartoffelsuppe und Salat mit Ziegenkäse. Persönlich esse ich kaum Ziegenkäse, aber dieser hat mir sehr gut geschmeckt. An den Hauptspeisen, Hirsch und Maispoulard (Huhn), gibt es nichts zu meckern. Der Apfelkuchen war auch einer der besten, die ich gegessen hatte. Es gibt die Möglichkeit für ein Überraschungsmenü (für Leute mit Entscheidungsschwierigkeiten :P), da wird Vorspeise, Hauptspeise und Nachspeise von der Küche ausgewählt. Ich hatte das ausgewählt und nicht bereut, wurde also positiv überrascht und würde es nochmal bestellen :). Service auch top. Alles in allem ein toller Abend, man muss sich aber bewusst sein, dass es teurer ist als ein normales Restaurant in Hannover.

Immer wieder toll! Wahnsinnig leckeres Essen mit unglaublich freundlichen Personal. Mit der Wahl für das Restaurant kann man nichts falsch machen!

War mit meinen Kollegen von der Arbeit dort bei einem Kochkurs. Hat sehr viel Spaß gemacht und das Essen war eine 10 von 10, sehr lecker.

Alles in allem ein runder Restaurantbesuch; ruhige Atmosphäre, bei sehr gutem Essen. Besonders erwähnenswert ist, dass ein Gespräch am Tisch (wir waren zu sechst) ohne „anschreien“ möglich war👍🏻, was bei vielen anderen Restaurants nicht selbstverständlich ist.

Wir hatten das Überraschungsmenü und waren über aller Maßen positiv überrascht. Vorspeise: Warmer karamellisierter Ziegenkäse auf Rucola - super lecker 😋 Hauptgang: Poularde auf Pfifferlingsrisotto - ganz tolle Geschichte 😋 Dessert: Kokospanacotta und Zitronensorbee - krönender Abschluss eines tollen Essen 😋 Und noch eine Cappuccino und doppelten Espresso von unserem Lieblingskaffeeröster Wir werden es bestimmt nun öfters mal besuchen und uns kulinarisch verwöhnen lassen. Seit Jahren komme ich in dieses wunderbare Restaurant Funky Kitchen. Wegen seines Ambiente, alleine der Aufgang nach oben zum Restaurant hat schon etwas. Wie in den 70 er ähnelt es wie eine Rock’n’Roll Halle 😀. Das Restaurant sehr schön eingerichtet mit sehr bequemen Sitzgelegenheiten. Die Terrasse überbietet alles ein freier Blick über das Expogelände. Das Essen ein Traum, Herr Fiene kann es einfach. Lecker 😋 Der Service Herr Große und sein Team sind sehr aufmerksam, immer zur Stelle, damit Ihnen kein Wunsch entgeht. Applaus 👏 Applaus. Bleiben Sie alle gesund , Herzlichst. Wiltrud Remstedt
