We had a great Köbes, a delicious meal and one or two Kölsch. Easily accessible via the subway directly in front of the house.

I live in Nippes, so I've been to Kappes many times. After my last 3 visits I have to open my mouth: Unfortunately the food has lost a lot of quality compared to visits in previous years! Now I don't think it's any better than the lower level of a chip shop: the fries are dry, as is the breaded meat. The dumplings for frying are limp and tasteless, the sauce tastes like brown soup, the meat is tough. For a house with this tradition, the kitchen has become very embarrassing! It's a shame about the otherwise rustic atmosphere and the friendly and quick service. They deserve to serve much better cuisine! There is an urgent need for action in the kitchen. For the time being, I will definitely not be eating at golde Kappes again. It doesn't taste like a gold cap!!!

Traditional Kölsches Brauhaus in Cologne Nippes, always worth a visit.

The bouncer has a latently violent way of treating people. He didn't do that with me, but with guests who were no longer sober but peaceful. His body language was characterized by arrogance and showed little eloquence or communication skills. His colleague appeared overwhelmed by the bouncer's actions. The discussions between the two showed how little experience the bouncer had.

For us the best place to celebrate. We love. The Kappes and the entire team. It's our second living room. Anyone who lives in Nippes cannot miss Kappes. It is a safe space 🏳️‍🌈 and all people are welcome. The team is simply great. 👍

I was eating there with a friend, unfortunately the sauerkraut wasn't as tasty as I had hoped, but if you have an idea of ​​what it should taste like, maybe that can happen. This is how I imagine a Cologne brewery! Food 1A. We ordered schnitzel and fried potatoes. The fried potatoes were amazing!!! The waiter is always friendly and in a great mood. Particularly nice in summer because of the terrace and location. The atmosphere inside is cozy.

We spent a very nice evening here. Since we started at 5 p.m. on a Saturday, it was quite quiet at the beginning. As the evening went on it got louder and louder. That may be normal for a brewery, but after 8 p.m. the volume was almost unbearable. Therefore, slight point deduction. Otherwise everything was fine. Great Köbes, great food, delicious Kölsch.

A real Cologne pub. Nicely tapped Kölsch, good menu. The food is top. Good portions, great seasoning...it couldn't be better. Rustic atmosphere with enough space at the tables. You can stand it for a few hours. Prices are realistic for the food and drink on offer. Highly recommended if you appreciate Cologne ambience.

According to service, the kitchen said: the fish was unfortunately cut too thick and it would have turned out too dark on the outside if it had been cooked longer. Food was good, the köbes were perfect, the only thing that wasn't good was that I had to pay extra for ketchup and mayonnaise. In many breweries it comes with food for free, but otherwise everything was good 👍

Nice brewery, but I've never had to wait so long for the Kölsch in a brewery. You have to order side dishes with your meal separately for an additional charge. Everything tastes just average.

Our friends and we were so looking forward to the goose dinner (like in previous years). Today's goose with kale was anything but tasty, some of the meat was tough, the crispy crust was missing and the sauce tasted like it came from a bag. A card from last week contained recipes including dumplings, chestnuts and baked apples. All of this could or would no longer be served. Despite repeated requests in the kitchen, no request was granted. It's a shame for such a traditional inn. At around 1:00 p.m. there were only a few guests to be served. All you can say here is that it's sad to employ such an inflexible chef.

When I visited, the Kölsch was very well chilled and always well tapped. Köbes, an Italian, was funny and very friendly. The only downside was the food. The sauerbraten was very firm and not, as it should actually be in Cologne cuisine, soft and crumbly. The sauce was nice and dark and delicious. It's also a shame that you have to order side dishes like applesauce and red cabbage separately. The red cabbage was tasty, but unfortunately cooked too soft.

We went to Kappes 3 weeks ago without a reservation. the ambience is great, a nice brewery. The service was... how should I put it... well we were served. I've experienced happier things. The expression on our faces when we complained about a beer was really great. (more on that in a moment) Food was ok... not bad, not great. not much but not too little either. None of our 10 beers were filled to the calibration mark. Always 1 to 1.5 cm was missing. I had one returned because it was easily missing 3cm. This is the second early brewery where the calibration mark is apparently just a recommendation. A rogue who thinks something bad. 😉

Already celebrated our second 60th birthday here this year. There are suitable common rooms on the first floor. The pub on the ground floor is packed full. Unfortunately, the delicious Mühlen Kölsch is no longer available here.

I go to the “Zum goldenen Kappes” brewery almost every Sunday for lunch and eat my way up and down the menu. The other day I wanted a schnitzel made without breadcrumbs and just coated in flour and egg. Instead of fries I ordered potatoes and please put some food on top of the potatoes. They did it exactly how I wanted it. I was thrilled. Delicious, just like I used to eat at home. And the changes were made at no extra charge! The service is top and the empty glass is quickly refilled with the delicious Früh Kölsch. And the waiters are always there for the guests in no time and are never at a loss for a cool saying. I just feel very comfortable in this beautiful brewery and I always enjoy coming back there.

I've never eaten so badly. Even if you cook fresh! Should the standing time of the food be taken into account? Broad beans with chicken meat. The beans were no longer green but brown in the sauce. Chicken meat is tasteless and overcooked from being warmed up so much. If the chef values ​​the food he prepares, this shouldn't happen at all. He should prepare the dishes in such a way that he himself enjoys the food. The waiter's sayings aren't always well received, especially when you complain. It's a shame ☹️

Great, rustic brewery where I used to go regularly with my parents as a little boy over 40 years ago. After almost 40 years it happened again and it was great. Everything feels like it used to, rustic and just beautiful. We drank delicious Kölsch and ate well! Since we live in Cologne again, we will now manage to come here regularly. As an old Cologne resident, you feel very comfortable here. It's just a shame that the Cologne language no longer exists here either. 😞

Friendly people and delicious food

When the guest is king... but only somewhere else! There are places where you feel welcome as a guest. This pub is not one of them. I was welcomed in the beer garden as if I were an unannounced guest at grandma's 80th birthday - and you know how much you like to see surprises like that... As soon as we sat down, we immediately said goodbye. It was as if I had asked for the most expensive dish on the menu, when all I wanted was a Kölsch. I didn't even see a drinks menu, let alone a sip of water. Apparently thirst in the beer garden is part of the Cologne flair. The waitress was as friendly as a construction site on a Monday morning, and the service was so invisible that I wondered if I was in the wrong movie after all. Was that a secret challenge where you had to fight for your beer? Spoiler: I lost. Conclusion: If you would like to be left without a drink and would prefer to admire the beer garden from a distance, this is the right place for you. For everyone else: There are also bars where you are not a nuisance as a guest. Unfortunately not here.

The portion size is a joke... The €8.90 children's schnitzel was hard to find because of all the plates. It was also brought with mayo even though we hadn't ordered it, so that we could then order ketchup and add both to the bill for €0.70 each. We ordered the “large” portion of fries so that one child would be full. €5.30 is more than excessive. It feels like the guest is being left out here, small portions even when eating for adults, and there is zero value for money here. We won't be coming back.

Traditional brewery in Cologne Nippes! Delicious, perfectly chilled Früh Kölsch! Tasty brewery cuisine, Mondays have potato pancakes, Wednesdays are ribs day. Everyone, really everyone, was very nice and friendly, always up for a joke. I come regularly, in the summer there is also nice seating outside.

Really several of the best traditional german meals we've ever tasted in Germany for very fair prices. Only slightly surly service but prompt and brought the correct items.

Really quaint pub/restaurant. Köbesse everything is super nice and super friendly :) Food is also great and very, very tasty. I can always recommend it :) For dinner we each had rump steak from the grill with homemade herb butter and French fries :)
