Simply delicious fries, especially the pulled pork fries

Whenever I'm in Essen, I visit Frittenwerk. The food is delicious and the service is friendly and engaging. One thing that could be improved is the cleaning of the tables, which are always a bit sticky and dirty. Another restroom would also be welcome. Nevertheless, I will be back the next time I'm in Essen.

Had dinner at Frittenwerk today – absolutely delicious! 😍 I had the classic currywurst with fries, super crispy and really well seasoned. My girlfriend had the Montreal style and absolutely loved it – the portions were really generous and delicious. Add to that the cozy atmosphere and the friendly staff. We'll definitely be back!

I bought churros for €3.50. I got four medium-sized, poorly prepared, greasy sticks that tasted of nothing but oil. I waited about 10 minutes and had to eat them at a dirty, sticky table.

Well, a nice place, although it does look a bit like an McD... Service was nice and friendly. On the fries: I've had better but the curry wurst was very nice.

Everything perfect couldn't be better

We were there last week and I have to say I was very disappointed. I have never eaten such old fries, even though the restaurant has "Friten" in its name... I expect really great, crispy fries. Unfortunately they were totally disappointing. The fries tasted like they had been reheated from the day before; they were soggy, smelled of old grease and weren't seasoned well. We also had a vegetarian "Currywurst"... sorry but it was already cut up into small pieces and it was never a whole one... There was really little, just 5 or 6 small slices and the sausage was more like rubber and tasted of nothing. The tables were dirty. I was glad when we left. Sorry but any normal burger or kebab shop can make better fries, maybe we were there on a bad day, but we'll never find out because I'm never eating there again.

We never thought potatoes could have such diverse flavors. While my wife and I were in Essen, wondering what to eat and looking at online reviews, we finally settled in. They've created a flavor called "Sweet Cheesy" 😋 – simply fantastic!!! 🤩 The friendly and attentive staff who took our order also deserves a big compliment.

Update: Still super delicious and good vegan options (I wish the gravy was still vegan <3). What I find a shame: there's still no reusable packaging here, at least it's not advertised and isn't standard. That would be the icing on the cake :) Everything's delicious as always! We're here regularly :)

The poutine selection is quite good, and the fries are also okay, although I actually prefer them a bit crispier. The seating inside and outside is also decent, but I find the metal chairs inside a bit uncomfortable. On the other hand, you can usually find a spot upstairs. There, in addition to the tables with metal chairs, there are also some with more comfortable wooden benches. It's quite convenient that you're called by a given name: then you don't have to make one up yourself 😉.

The food was good, as was the service. The prices were a bit high, but still acceptable.

The food here is really delicious, especially the potatoes, I love them, and my kids love them too. I come here every chance I get.

It's a real shame that reusable tableware isn't used when eating on-site. The resulting waste is outdated and avoidable.

I ate here with my husband today. I'm very disappointed; the only thing that tasted good was the coleslaw. The fries were undercooked and soggy, and the pulled pork was way too dry. This was probably our last visit, too bad.

Hey, here you can get deluxe fries. And I mean that literally. You can't complain about the taste; everything's pretty good. But if you just want classic fries with currywurst, you've come to the wrong place. They have everything in a "loaded" version. Fries with meat, cheese, sauce, parsley, arugula, and whatever else grows in the field. And it doesn't matter whether you want the greens or not, you'll get it. Opt out? No way. The self-service kiosk is missing the "leave the greens" button. Unfit for sheriffs! Service? Friendly and quick, no question. These people know what they're doing. But the price... boy, boy. I used to buy a whole round of snacks for that money. Now you get stylish fries with a sauce upgrade. The Sheriff's conclusion: Everything is nicely presented, solidly made – but for me personally, it's too much bling. If you're looking for trendy fries, you'll find what you're looking for here. Personally, I miss the simplicity. Next time, please try purist mode.

Very varied selection of potatoes and snacks, there is something for every taste. Fast and pleasant service. The establishment is clean, interesting interior, good atmosphere. It was very tasty. I recommend visiting.

Overall, all good, delicious. Many many original recipies. I gave 4 star to food because of the type of patatoes. It should be 'yellow' patatoes not ' white' . They use white patatoes.

Absolutely love the Tijuana Street Fries can definitely recommend them, its an all time fav of mine. The employees are also very respectful and nice.

You are greeted in a friendly manner at the checkout, everything runs quickly and is well organized. I also noticed the staff member at the till particularly positively with her polite and courteous manner. You simply feel that you are in good hands. I definitely like coming back to wieder☺️
