At frittenwerk, one thing is always certain: they cut corners on the curry, regardless of whether you ask them to add more than just a touch. Please make at least 5-10 times as much curry, people. My goodness, we're not in a curry crisis.

The Asian salesperson in this store is probably the most brazen and disrespectful person I've ever encountered. He orders customers to the cashier with head gestures, and if you point out this behavior, you're insulted. I would fire an employee like that immediately; it's absolutely detrimental to the business.

The highlight: the homemade fries – crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, perfectly seasoned, and served in a truly delicious portion. 🍟💥 There's a huge selection of toppings and sauces to go with it – I had the "BBQ Pulled Pork" with cheddar and fried onions, simply delicious! 🐷🧀 If you like grilled food, you'll definitely get your money's worth here. The grill plate with juicy spare ribs, fresh sausage, and a spicy chicken breast was grilled to perfection 🔥👌 – everything was super tender, slightly smoky in flavor, and served with homemade dips. Despite its location in the main train station, it's a good place to stop before or after a train ride. The vegetarian currywurst was delicious, and the fries were just right. There are simple seats, but they're perfectly adequate for a quick meal.

Fries with the fuss and sky-high prices. Taste good, but not for purists. Quality? Top-notch. Staff? Friendly and fast. But the sheriff has to say: The menu isn't for classic eaters like me. Everything here is made into "loaded" fries. Fries with whatever's lying around: meat, sauce, cheese, herbs, and then half a lawn on top. And they throw the greens all over everything, whether you like it or not. At the ordering terminal? No way to turn it off. No button for "No Greens"; they serve what's on the menu. The taste is solid, but for my taste, too much show for too little substance. And the price... well. Unfortunately, the whole thing also has deluxe cinema prices. You pay almost as much for a portion of fries as you used to pay for an entire snack plate. Conclusion: If you like trendy loaded things with all the trimmings, you'll be happy here. The Sheriff, on the other hand, prefers classic, clear, and full. And wishes for a "no meadow" button on the terminal next time.

According to my boyfriend, the food was good as always. Unfortunately, I couldn't eat any of it today because my special request (no parsley) was ignored, and I have an allergy. His portion was supposed to be XL, but he got a regular portion (although he paid for a large one). So both portions were delivered incorrectly. Hopefully, things will work out better next time.

Not recommended at lunchtime. Today's currywurst and fries were quite cold, with all the sauce at the bottom of the box. The same thing happened with the Istanbul fries last time.

Fantastic food! The curry wurst and fries were flavorful and satisfying, the fries were crispy perfection. Chilli cheese fries, my absolute favorite! And to top it off, the churros with hazelnut sauce - sweet and delightful. Great combination of savory and sweet, highly recommend!

Bang in the central railway station, the location is convenient but not "nice". Thus, 2 stars for that. Portions are medium- large sized and taste good- great place for a quick snack.

Shortly before we left, we were there about 30 minutes after the store opened (10:30 a.m.) and wanted to try Frittenwerk before we went home. The food was really great, I can also really recommend the vegan currywurst here. The deduction is only because of the service. They wanted to order via the order terminal, had never done that before and seemed a bit helpless. Somehow we managed it after no one came. When I picked up the food I somehow had the thought that we were there at the wrong time... but would still consider visiting again next time :)

Super tasty and a huge selection of different fries with different sauces and toppings. The self-service displays are also helpful if, like me, you don't know exactly what you want, but the super charming and competent employees are also happy to advise you on the choice of fries. In addition to fries, there are also small snacks such as crispy chicken sticks or churros, which sets the shop apart from a conventional chip shop. There are also plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, which should appeal to everyone. Despite the fact that it is only a small shop in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Essen central station, the ambience is really sweet and designed with an eye for detail and definitely has its charm. The background music doesn't always suit my taste, but otherwise this store is a real 12/10 and my new "go to" when I have some time and hunger between trains.

It used to be better. Very few fries compared to before, not really crispy, just soft and mushy. The staff didn't understand me well and they didn't understand me well either. Didn't seem to feel like it either. Hmm. I used to enjoy eating at Frittenwerk.

The terminal restarted and I was charged twice for everything. The employee said that it couldn't be paid back to me. Impossible! I was only shown 2 fries at the terminal and was billed for 4! Disgrace!!!

Germany knows fries. No idea what the idea behind fancy pancy fries is, but when I go to Aunt Erna's for fries with hunter's sauce, I get twice as much fries, mushrooms and flavor for 1/3 of the money. It would be a shame to create classic chip shops because everyone wants to hype this half-baked fancy pancy.

Ordered the Montreal Style Poutine. There's nothing special about the fries for someone who almost exclusively sells only that. There was barely any mushroom in the box. Overpriced tbh. A joke of a place.

Since I'm at the train station every day, I get fries there every now and then. Unfortunately, it always depends on who is on shift. Two weeks ago there were two girls there who were really super friendly and quick. Last week there were two gentlemen who unfortunately valued their conversations more and didn't want too many fries to end up in the bowls. I think it's a shame because the garlic fries are really tasty.

Frittenwerk is a chain that you can visit from time to time when you're hungry for fries. You can definitely choose toppings. I had the carne chili, unfortunately. It was a bit bland. Spices were missing, some of the fries weren't quite cooked through A bit hectic as it was very full But everyone was very friendly

I've always said that the best Frittenwerk is in Essen Hbf. The blonde girl who works there is always nice and serves the right portion according to the prices. However, the male employee is the complete opposite. He serves very rudely and the plates are not even a quarter full. He is very stingy. It's the same every time I order from him. He doesn't want to take care of the customers and is always joking around. Unfortunately, this gives the business a bad reputation.

Wanted to order something before the train left. Unfortunately, the ordering process took longer than 5 minutes because the terminal is designed so that the customer buys everything and leaves as much money as possible. Every special curl is queried. Therefore no reasonable order is possible. I'm not ordering a quarter of an hour!?

The rooms are very nicely and stylishly furnished, you feel very comfortable, the staff are friendly and attentive. I had the vegan currywurst with the garlic fries, the fries are really tasty, less greasy than expected, the vegan currywurst (it's my first) tastes pleasant, I have no comparison but I personally think it's tasty considering it's not meat. Overall, very nice here and can only be recommended. ☺️

Frittenwerk Essen Hauptbahnhof offers a solid experience. The wait was acceptable, however there was a small incident with the receipt which had to be reprinted. The Lieferando driver without a uniform and the lack of a tablet for ordering were notable. In terms of taste, the food received a good rating of 8 out of 10, although the meat was a little too salty. The look scored 6 out of 10. One criticism was the liberal use of ketchup and mayo, resulting in a low score of 2 out of 10. The service, however, was very nice and deserved 8 out of 10 points. The cleanliness in the chip factory was convincing and received a high rating of 9 out of 10 points. Overall a positive experience that could be helpful to others.

I had the Istanbul fries...I think that's what they're called xD Plus an upgrade to garlic fries. I had little expectations, but I was so full and it tasted really good. Attached is a photo of the dish!

Wir wollten eine Currywurst Pommes essen, mussten 15 min warten, da die Würstchen so lang dauerten. In der Zeit konnten wir einem älteren Herrn übersetzen, da vom Personal niemand Englisch sprach (an einem HbF einer Großstadt!) Nach den 15 Minuten war die Wurst noch genauso ungebraten wie vorher, die Mayo war absolut nicht lecker. Sorry, hat uns überhaupt nicht überzeugt.
