Great place. I've been coming here for years. Beautiful garden surrounded by greenery with delicious food. Unfortunately, this year they've set up many more tables than usual, and the staff can't keep up. It took us 29 minutes to order, and then we had to wait an hour and a half for our food!!! Please reduce the number of tables again. That doesn't make sense. It's far too crowded now. The whole atmosphere is lost...

One of Stuttgart's most beautiful beer gardens. It's not easy to get there, but it's worth the trip. Ordering is a bit awkward, as you have to order at the bar, where service can be slow. This means you might find yourself waiting in line for your second drink just as your food arrives. The food is solid; last time we visited, we felt it was a bit poorly presented.

A great place to meet up with friends and unwind. The prices are great, and we enjoy the food every time.

Wie soll man eine solche Institution denn bewerten ? Seit 1904 hier ein Bierkiosk für die Weingärtner und Obstbauern eröffnete ist die Friedrichsruh einfach nicht wegzudenken. Eine echte Kneipe mit absolutem Kultbiergarten mit ganz viel Geschichte auf der Wangener Höhe. Hier kommst Du hin, um die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Das Essen ist immer ordentlich, die Getränke sowieso.

Great restaurant! Everything is freshly cooked! Tip!! The sauerbraten with potato dumplings - unfortunately without red cabbage 😢. Still an absolute culinary highlight, which I've already tried three times. Here's the current menu ‼️ Attached is the special menu, which is available at Friedrichsruh from 6:00 PM in addition to the regular menu. The special menu is constantly being updated. Everything "Grandma's Kitchen" has to offer is homemade here, from Maultaschen (swabian pasta) to Gaisburger Marsch (a kind of fried sausage) and lentils with spaetzle and string sausages.... Definitely a must-try! Highly recommended 👍 Surrounded by nature on the Wangener Berg. Ideal starting point for hikes and excursions. Romantic atmosphere: Two beer gardens on site: 1 large beer garden on a meadow with small trees in the middle and beautiful lanterns, and 1 slightly smaller beer garden with a magnificent view over Wangen, Stuttgart, Stuttgart-Rotenberg, Fellbach, etc. I've been a happy and satisfied guest for over 20 years. I often meet up with friends here in the evenings. Sometimes live music. Cozy pub with two dedicated, attentive, and friendly owners, Hotte and Atze. Kid-friendly!! Sandpit and small slide available. Plenty of parking available. Highly recommended. Very popular and therefore often busy. But everyone will find a spot! Once here, always here!

Beautiful beer garden. Even when there are a lot of people, it's still nice to sit there. The only downside is that placing an order can take up to 40 minutes at the bar, and if you're unlucky, the food will arrive (served) about 45 minutes later. When you go to a place like this, you just have to bring your time, and then the day will still be a great one. The food was really good, by the way. Maultaschen (swabian ravioli) wrapped in ham with cheese and a mixed salad, absolutely delicious. Highly recommended🍻

Cult pub, you can sit outside in the beautiful garden or at the back with a view. Food and selection very good. Additionally daily specials. Self service at the bar, very friendly. The food is needed. Bring some time, but please be advised when there is a lot going on. We like to enjoy an evening there on the Wangener Höhe. The walk there is part of it. Things can get tight with a car.

It's very comfortable to sit outside and the prices are fair. A good, relaxed destination. Unfortunately we waited over an hour for a baked potato and a piece of cake.

One of the few, best locations in and around Stuttgart. Very nicely located with a great panoramic view over Stuttgart. The beer garden is highly recommended in summer. Cozy and nice atmosphere. The food was excellent - thanks to Apollo, who cooks really well 👍. The service from lots of nice people is varied - especially worth mentioning: KAI 🤗! And not to forget - Hotte, the chillest, friendliest boss I know ♥️. You just feel really comfortable there! Cool music! If I could, I would give away an entire starry sky 💫✨️...

The two of us ate here and walked in without a reservation. We were welcomed very politely and despite the full house we got a nice table. The only issue is that it is difficult to pay by card. So you should have enough cash with you.

Excellent beer garden, high above Stuttgart. Easily accessible, but steep hike, from Wangen MarkPlatz (easier coming down). Tight roads if you're in a car. Good choice of very nice food and drink, with friendly service. Order your food from the bar with delivery to your table and pickup drinks from the bar too. Be good and clear your table at the end of your stay!

Secluded, but in a beautiful spot, had a nice meal in the garden. It is based on ordering yourself at the bar, but the food is served at the table. Nice people and the food was great!

The food is really reasonable and price/performance is absolutely good. Sit comfortably together in the garden with the cyclists optimally cooled. The ordering process could be optimized a little more in terms of time, but I think the topic is no longer being addressed. It doesn't matter, because anyone who wants to stop by also brings the necessary waiting time with them. Conclusion, a very nice beer garden with a great selection of food and drinks.

Beautiful beer garden great food

If you come to Stuttgart and are looking for a secret place away from the international tourists, then come to Friedrichsruh. Come by car or bike. The food is excellent and, for a beer garden, the choice of food is splendid. If you're lucky, you'll get a table with a wonderful view over the Neckar Valley. The staff are very friendly and have a great sense of humour. The majority of the customers are locals, so this is a great place to meet the natives of Stuttgart. I moved to Stuttgart in 1987 and this is one of my favourite haunts in the city.

A beautiful beer garden that really deserves the word “garden”! Here you can sit relaxed under the trees on a large meadow. The food is very tasty and the selection is larger than usual. Everyone will find something here. The dishes are lovingly prepared, with e.g. B. fresh salads and nothing from a can. Okay, the service (at the counter) could be friendlier. I always got what I wanted and was never treated unkindly. When the beer garden is full in the summer and the weather is great, it takes a little longer to eat! If you are impatient and don't like the "style" of the staff, feel free to go somewhere else! That makes more space for us and the food comes quicker! I'll definitely come back. I'm friendly with the service and I take my time!

Probably by far the most beautiful beer garden in the city, small menu with daily specials, you can taste that everything is homemade.

Unfortunately, our visit on July 9, 2024 was very disappointing. We were told we would have to wait 1 hour for food. In the end it was a 2 hour wait!! For a fitness plate - so not a complicated dish! If the terrace is full, leave quickly!

Leider mussten wir am 9.7.24 geschlagene 2 Stunden aufs Essen warten! Gesagt worden war uns eine Stunde Wartezeit, was für einen Fitnessteller auch schon viel ist. Aber dann doppelt so lange - das war nicht in Ordnung. Leider hatten wir gleich beim Bestellen schon bezahlen müssen, sonst wären wir gegangen. Wenn die Terasse voll ist, lieber gleich wieder gehen - oder sehr viel Geduld mitbringen.

The Friedrichsruh has been a nice place to drink beer and eat with relaxed, cool service in an ambience that is exactly my thing, in short, cult. The people you meet there are relaxed, in a good mood and have fun in life, what more could you want!

Very tasty food, a great location with a beautiful view, also nice inside. In addition, everyone there is very friendly! We come by there more often!

I can't rate the food because after the host's unfriendly reaction I decided to spend my money elsewhere.

A rustic restaurant with a cozy garden but also a cool interior. Delicious Swabian / European dishes (think baked potatoes, cheese spaetzle, baked Maultaschen) with some vegetarian options. A good stop in sunny weather. You have to wait a bit for the food.

The location is great, I can't rate the food because we went on with a group of 15 people as well as about 20 other people after the innkeeper greeted us with absolute disinterest and an unfriendly "Oh God". Even on Father's Day we had no business interest, we just visited the friendly and nice competition. I would actually wish a host like that the absolute absence of customers (and that was difficult to write the whole thing in a moderate and nice way!)

Little insider tip in Stuttgart in the middle of nature. If you like it cozy and want to enjoy very good food for little money in a nice atmosphere with a wide variety of people, this is the right place for you.

A magical place with a unique atmosphere 🤗

The place is very picturesquely located between loud Gütles. The service was completely disinterested, but the food was delicious. If you want to sit in the garden and eat something at a decent price, it's worth a visit. You have to overlook the service.

My wife and I just wanted to eat something in this restaurant after we discovered that Uncle Otto, right next door, unfortunately doesn't accept card payments. So I went in and asked the landlord if this was possible. He replied in a cheeky and annoyed tone that this could be done in an emergency, it would take an extremely long time and be time-consuming. I couldn't quite believe it and asked again whether it wasn't possible or not. Totally annoyed and as if he was about to explode, the landlord only replied that it would only work in an emergency and that he had already said that. I feel very sorry for the man because he apparently doesn't want to work there and is no longer happy about life. Of course we left immediately. If you have to be afraid of a physical altercation with the waiter, then I'd rather go eat somewhere else. I advise everyone not to enter this restaurant. You are treated disrespectfully and unkindly. I hope the employee there will soon get the help he needs to get his aggression and depression under control. Again: just don't go. Bad bad bad

Geheimtipp - Ist das der gemütlichste und schönste Ort in ganz Stuttgart? Meiner Meinung nach: Ja! Super schöne Lage. Parke gerne weiter weg, weil man hier einfach wunderbar spazieren kann. Ehrliches Ambiente, ehrliche Küche. Hier bekommt man keine „Fertiggerichte“. Hab das Gefühl, hier wird alles mit Liebe gemacht. Selbstverständlich muss man mit etwas Zeit rechnen, bis das frisch gemachte Gericht serviert wird. Dafür darf man umso länger an diesem schönen Ort verweilen. Für die, die sich hier über 60 oder 90 Minuten Wartezeit beschweren, habe ich einen anderen Geheimtipp: Kommt aus den USA, hat ein Logo mit 2 goldenen Bögen und man kann sein Essen sogar bestellen, während man im Auto sitzt: McDoofian.

Ein wunderschöner Ort auf der Wangener Höhe. Mit Blick auf das Neckartal. Essen war sehr gut und reichlich. Kann man nur weiterempfehlen.

Schöne Lage, Personal super freundlich Preis/Leistung völlig ok. Essen wie immer lecker

Zunächst das Gute: Wunderschöner Biergarten und grundsätzlich nettes Personal. Nun zum Rest: Wir haben über 1,5 Stunden auf das Essen gewartet, was angekündigt wurde, daher hinnehmbar. Aber als es dann endlich kam, war mein Gericht nahezu verbrannt und ungenießbar (komplett vertrocknete Maultaschen mit Gasofen-Nuance). Meiner Begleitung wurde das falsche Gericht serviert. Unmöglich. Bei den Nachbartischen, spielten sich ähnliche Katastrophen ab. Grundsätzlich wurden Gruppen nicht komplett bedient, sodass einige schon fertig waren, bevor der Rest serviert wurde.. Fazit: Zum anstoßen ein sehr angenehmer Biergarten, aber die Küche grenzt an Betrug. Ich empfehle dort nicht mit Appetit aufzuwarten.

Sehr schöner uriger Biergarten. Ideal für Wanderer, Spaziergänger und Radler sowie Familien.

Wir waren zum Spiel beim VfB, danach hatten wir Durst und Hunger, also Tripadvisor bemüht mit der Suche nach einem Nahe gelegenen Biergarten. Ganz nah war es nicht - auch nur mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Aber wir waren begeistert. Bei der Fahrt durch die Gassen durch Wangen und anschließend engen Strasse hoch durch die Gärten hatten wir noch Sorge wohin uns unser Weg führt. Dort angekommen hat sich schon der Weg gelohnt. Tolle Aussicht in den Stuttgarter Kessel, ein grüner Biergarten mit alten Bäumen, Landidylle pur. Die Karte mit grosser Auswahl vieler einfacher Gerichte. Und die sind alle lecker, alles was der Appetit beansprucht : Vesper, Wurstsalat, tolle grosse Salate, Schnitzel Steaks, Flammkuchen u.v.m. Alles sehr schmackhaft und für den grossen Hunger mehr als ausreichend. Das Bier frisch die Preise günstig. Der Service nett trotz der vielen Gäste. Wir kommen gerne wieder - eine klar Empfehlung.

Nettes Lokal in einer schönen Gegend von Stuttgart. Die Getränke sind in Selbstbedienung und das Essen wir auch an der Theke bestellt aber dann serviert. Parkplatz ist vor dem Lokal, allerdings sind nicht so viele verfügbar. Vorallem wenn viel los ist. Hunde sind herzlich Willkommen. Der Service ist sehr nett und schnell.

Top Pub, leckeres Restaurant und wunderschöner Garten mit neu gemachtem kleinen Spielplatz mit Rutsche, Sandlsachen und einem Spielhaus. Der Sandkasten hat sogar ein Sonnensegel 👍🏻

gemütlicher Laden mit schöner Außenbewirtschaftung. Wenn man im Zweifelsfall keine schmalen Gassen rückwärts fahren will, am besten vorne an der breiteren Straße parken und 5 min gehen.

Biergarten auf Rasen, mit Selbstbedienung, allerdings wird das bestellte Essen an den Tisch gebracht. Lage ist sehr schön im Grünen, Parkplätze kaum vorhanden, aber ein kleiner Fußmarsch von ca. 500m schadet nach dem leckeren Essen auch niemandem. Netter Spielplatz für die Kids vorhanden. Aussicht vom Biergarten aus gibt es keine, dazu muss man sich nochmal etwas bewegen. Ruhige entspannte Atmosphäre, bis auf die Kartenzahlung, was nicht gerne gesehen wird.

Biergarten?? Jeder der einmal in München einen Biergarten besucht hat weiß wie ein solcher auszusehen hat. Eher Gaststätte mit Außenbewirtschaftung auf einer Wiese. Die Zufahrt mit dem Auto ist schwierig, da Straßen schmal. Aber das Personal ist freundlich und der Flammkuchen schmeckt prima.

Die Gartenwirtschaft ist sehr schön. Es herrscht Selbstbedienung bei der Bestellung wobei das Essen an den Tisch gebracht wird.

Super urige Kneipe mit leckerer bodenständiger Küche und ausgefeilten Köstlichkeiten, von Chilli con Carne bis Linsen und Spätzle über italienische Spezialitäten wie Pizza und Pasta ist alles dabei, zu jeder Jahreszeit eine nette Location, war mal wieder hier ist immer noch alles top, die Wochenkarten sind immer sehr gut, kann es nur jeden empfehlen, komme immer gerne wieder

Super netter schöner gemütlicher Biergarten. Für Stuttgart und allgemein günstige Preise für große Portionen. Lohnt sich auf jeden Fall, wir kommen wieder. Ist Selbstbedienung und es könnte etwas länger dauern aber das wird an der Kasse gesagt. Zur Hinfahrt am besten die Zufahrt von der Seite aus Stuttgart Ost kommend nehmen.

Super Biergarten im Grünen mit vielen Sitzmöglichkeiten und wirklich gutem Essen. Wir hatten Sauerbraten mit Knödel und Elsässer Flammenkuchen und waren begeistert. Das nächste Mal würde ich gerne das Schnitzel und den Wurstsalat probieren weil beides auch wirklich gut aussah.
