Everything is just perfect at the Friedenseiche Greek restaurant in Nordhausen: top-notch service, attentive, thoughtful, and very friendly staff. You can create your own salad starter from the buffet – a great idea! The food was delicious, the portions generous, and the prices reasonable. We even finished with a glass of ouzo on the house – a classic, friendly gesture that perfectly rounded off the visit. 🇬🇷🍷 We felt very comfortable and would love to come back!

We've been to this restaurant several times and have always been satisfied, but this time I was more than disappointed with the service. My boyfriend and I were there with a group of 11 people. Unfortunately, we arrived a little late, after everyone had already ordered their food and drinks. The good and attentive staff notice when two guests arrive late and come back to the table to order their drinks and food. However, this didn't happen with us. The menu was brought to us, but then, unfortunately, no one else came. When no one came after half an hour (we also made ourselves known), I had enough and went to the counter to at least order our food so we could eat together with the other people at our table. I also asked the server to come back to our table to order our drinks. But unfortunately, no one came. Eventually, we were able to order our drinks from a colleague. Our food arrived when everyone else at our table had already finished eating. In my opinion, this wouldn't have been necessary if we had been served immediately upon arrival. The food itself was delicious and plentiful as always, but I was unfortunately extremely disappointed with the service.

We went to the Friedenseiche with our wives for lunch again today. Everything was perfect again; we are very satisfied and would love to come back. Günter and Renate from Salza and Manfred and Ute from Göttingen!

Always worth a visit. This is due in no small part to the friendly staff and the unique chef, who makes everyone feel like part of the family.

Friendly and delicious, great atmosphere. We sat outside, and even the dog was provided with fresh water.

We were here for the first time today. Definitely recommend it :) It's great here. Dogs are allowed outside in the summer, too. We'd love to come back :)

A very nice Greek restaurant with a beer garden in a house steeped in regional tradition. The food and service were excellent, and there weren't long waits.

We were there on July 6, 2025, at the peak of dinner time. Yes, the food takes a while to arrive, but every minute of waiting is worth it. Great space, huge beer garden, large and delicious portions. If the restaurant weren't a good 400 km away, we'd be there at least once a month.

Visiting a Greek restaurant is usually like déjà vu: the menu is probably 99% identical. This restaurant, located on the outskirts of the city, is no exception. The difference here, however, is that it tastes just as the menu suggests. The grilled sheep's cheese as a starter left us wanting more. The Athens platter as the main course was actually a small highlight. The liver is excellently seasoned and fried, the gyro meat is juicy and of good quality. Even simple things can be fun if someone knows their craft. Side dish of fries or rice, both tasty. Our stay was rounded off by the attentive and friendly staff. A pleasant evening. I can only comment on the food visually. It was really appealing, and the meat was cooked to perfection. Unfortunately, I had a cold and only had a taste for salt, sour, etc. Service was fantastic. The chef noticed I wasn't feeling well and immediately offered to help me. Thank you so much for that 🥰 It was a wonderful experience for that reason alone. My companions had a fantastic evening. I'll be back if I enjoy it again. I absolutely recommend this restaurant. I give the chef, in particular, 10 stars. Best wishes from Limburg 😉

I went to the Greek restaurant for the first time on Thursday and I have to say I haven't eaten better anywhere in Nordhausen. The owner is very friendly and attentive 🤝🏻🙌🏼❤️ (Friendly greetings, unknown to my daughter, who doesn't have to spend so long on her cell phone, kiss kiss)

The restaurant has a very inviting atmosphere. Everything is bright, friendly and lovingly furnished. The staff is very friendly and always tries to make the guest feel comfortable. The order is brought to the table very quickly. The sanitary facilities are also very clean.

We reserved a table for lunch, which was good because the restaurant was full for Sunday lunch. Even though we arrived a few minutes early, that wasn't a problem and we received a very friendly welcome. 😊 After a quick look at the menu, someone from the service staff came and took the drink order. Things got a little more difficult when it came to eating. Since we prefer to try a lot of different dishes instead of masses of one dish, we were a little disappointed that there were still no mixed starter platters on the menu. 🫤 That's why we asked about the possibility of putting together a mixed appetizer platter. The younger gentleman asked for patience as he first had to ask whether this was possible. After a short while the boss, who is a very likeable gentleman, came to our table himself. He explained to us that he does not offer mixed starter plates as all starters are freshly prepared. However, it is not a problem to put together several starters. We trusted his recommendation of starters and ordered a whole table full of starters, leaving the option open to order a main course later. The food was very tasty and plentiful. 😋 It would still be desirable to find a mixed starter plate directly on the menu for our next visit, as the staff usually can't do anything with it (but it always works with the boss 😜). The dessert was also delicious and I had to take a photo of it because it was beautifully presented. 😊 The restaurant is visually appealing and clean. Sufficient staff was available. 👍🏼 All in all, the restaurant is highly recommended if you are willing to pay a little more for good Greek food. The price-performance ratio is good. We'd love to come back! 👍🏼

We spontaneously decided to eat there on a Saturday. Called quickly and reserved a table, everything went smoothly. When we got there we were taken to our table and then browsed through the menu. It's a shame that we were literally "forgotten" at our table, while other tables arrived later (with more people) and received drinks and food before us. Neither room was overly crowded. The food tasted good, the portion was more than sufficient; Points deducted because unfortunately half of the food was cold and the staff seemed very uncoordinated to me. It seemed like they had rolled the dice to see which waiter would have to come to our table and they literally avoided serving us. We sat for a good 2.5 hours from arriving at the restaurant to paying, although we actually only ate for 30 minutes. If we hadn't gotten up and told the waiters that we would like to pay, we would certainly have spent another 1-2 hours there because they hardly paid any attention to us. We had a lot of hope because we had only heard and read good things about the restaurant, but I wouldn't need to have dinner here again.

There is more than one Greek in Nordhausen, and since we had already visited another one, I was actually very impressed. Nevertheless, you would be extremely disappointed here. The dishes are much more expensive than the competition, which is also much more centrally located. The prices there are a disgrace. And first the food. There were hardly any people there, but the waiting time was far too long and the food was inedible, and not just for me. The gyro was way too fatty and was already floating on the plate, and the chicken was way too salty. Furthermore, there were far too few baby potatoes on the plate. 2 pieces in total, and the whole table found the fried vegetables simply inedible. When you asked the question, did the food taste good and you answered no, the boss even came and wanted to discuss it with you. That was really the highlight of the evening. So we'll never go there again, and the owner of the place should definitely work on his attitude.

I can only recommend the restaurant. As well as the very nice large beer garden where you can sit very nicely on the warm summer days. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The food is very tasty and you don't have to wait long to get your food.

Had an appetite for Greek food again and ended up here in the evening. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant and clean. However, the food was disappointing for me. I ordered the Zeus plate for just under €25 with three different steaks and, since I particularly like them, a portion of Metaxa sauce. The portion of Metaxa sauce (for €3.90 extra) was thickened and didn't taste anything like Metaxa like I've come across from every Greek, and for me it wasn't edible. The steaks had a strange taste to me, as if they had been pre-marinated to soften the meat, I missed the otherwise delicious fresh meat taste and grilled pleasure. Tzatziki was ok, as were the fries. I liked the salad best, which you can put together yourself at the counter. As I said, the ambience and service were ok, but since I value tasty food for the reasons described above, it's not a recommendation for me and I won't eat there again.

We went to this restaurant relatively spontaneously for the first time on Sunday lunchtime and overall we were very satisfied. Very happy again. 😊👍🏻 The wait for the freshly grilled food wasn't long. The service was very friendly. The restaurant is beautiful, cozy and modernly furnished. 👍🏻 For the main courses we were able to put together our own salad plates from the well-chilled salad buffet. 👍🏻 Our grill plates were plentiful and very tasty. 😋 The liver and pork loin steak were grilled to perfection. The gyro was crispy and yet not dry. 👍🏻 A spice (herb) tasted a bit pungent in the tomato rice (but that's ultimately a matter of taste). After the meal there was the obligatory ouzo or a red non-alcoholic version.

Highly recommended, nice and tastes great. I would love to come back.👍

The quick service means you don't have to wait long for your food, which is especially appreciated after a long day. The price-performance ratio is excellent and the menu delivers what it promises. I chose the Sofoklis platter which included a delicious selection of suflaki, pork loin steak, gyros, fries or rice and of course tzatziki. The French fries were an absolute highlight - far from run-of-the-mill products, but prepared fresh and crispy. The restaurant itself is clean and modern in design, with subtle, pretty table decorations that contribute to the pleasant atmosphere. The owner is very friendly and always available for a chat, which reinforces the feeling of warmth and belonging. The starter, the grilled sheep's cheese, was also a delight and left us wanting more. Overall, the Friedenseiche is a place where you can not only eat well, but also enjoy Greek hospitality to the fullest. Definitely worth a visit!

This included 1 suflaki, 1 pork loin steak, gyros, fries or rice and of course tsatsili The selected French fries were absolutely amazing. We went there spontaneously because our favorite Greek restaurant was closed. The food was great, the salad was just as delicious as you would expect from other Greek restaurants in NDH and the staff was very, very attentive. Will probably be our second favorite Greek restaurant in Nordhausen. I actually think the staff is much better. You really feel welcome. Definitely worth a visit. I also think the drinks menu is very good when it comes to long drinks. So it doesn't always have to be just wine. Last but not least: It is also cheaper when compared to other Greeks.

Super nettes Personal. Aber das Essen war grenzwertig. Das Essen meiner Freundin war versalzen. Meine Pommes haben vor Salz geglänzt. Dafür war meine Metaxasoße geschmacklos. Die 2 Sterne beim Essen gibt es für das Salatbuffet. Preis Leistung zu teuer.
