Frederick's in Berlin

TLDR: the place is trying very hard to look expensive, and the packaging is working, but the drinks, the food menu and the attitude of the waiters is just embarassing and not worth it. Berlin has much more to offer. Not suitable for vegans or vegetarians. Whole review: The food was okay. But that's it. Unfortunately, I've been in enough places in Berlin with similar price range to be completely dissappointed about the service and the atmosphere. The one page menu with so little desciption of the food (e.g. no information on allergens and portion sizes) reminds on much more affordable cafés and seemed too cheap for the whole interior. There was only one vegan option. The fact the the waitress didn't even ask whether any of us have allergens might be explained as a lack of experience as that's the first question I'm asked at other places. Cocktail and wine menu is very poor. The bar zone was supposed to close at 1:30, but as there were not enough guests they decided to close one hour earlier without warning their last guests or suggesting the last round. And changed their attitude at some point completely. The waiter was walking and talking with nothing else than bitchy face, as we were leaving he almost ran to the front door and forgot to ask whether we have coats or jackets given at the receiption, though they hanged in the open and were hard to miss. We were hugely dissappointed and I highly recommend to go literally to any other place, as Berlin offers places with better and more affordable drinks and food. Frederick's might have worked with "experience" at being there, but loses to its competitors, you can find better options.

I have to say, it's a really gorgeous shop! The atmosphere is fantastic, and the service was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, the prices are so high that I'm not the kind of clientele with a tight budget that they welcome there. But all in all, the shop is perfect for company parties or people who value that.

This is a high end dining and cocktail place with a nice seating area inside with a large bar . The food is tasty and can recommend the lamb chops. The cocktails are nice but it claims to be an award winning bar which I did not taste as I went with high expectations and also the prices are on the higher side. But food was really tasty and if you are a truffle fan you have to try their mash potatoes. I would not recommend the gold cocktail

Fredericks has a fantastic interior, very retro and interesting to be in. We had there the arancini, the lamb with vegetables and grilled asparagus, and the monkfish with vegetables and a basket of fries. The arancini was amazing, definitely one of the best I had, it was filled with real risotto, and the lamb and fish were tasty, the sauces were a bit salty but overall a nice experience. Prices are on the high side, and the cocktails we got were a little strong but tasty, if you are a fan of stronger cocktails this place is for you.

Great atmosphere inside the Sony Center dome. Incredibly friendly service and surprisingly high quality in both drinks and food. We only planned to have pre-dinner drinks, but ended up staying for fries and bread — and we’re glad we did! The fries were the best we had in Berlin, and the bread with butter was outstanding. The menu isn’t for picky eaters, but perfect for those who enjoy exploring new flavors. A memorable experience.

This chic retro restaurant captivates with its stylish ambiance and 1920s flair. The menu combines traditional German cuisine with Mediterranean influences – excellent in taste and variety. The service was pleasant, but at times lacked attentiveness. The food, especially the lamb and monkfish, was very expertly prepared. The portions are smaller, so side dishes and appetizers are recommended. A real highlight are the signature cocktails, masterfully created by Bar Manager Joe Scheidemann. His drinks clearly bear the signature of his predecessor, Arnd Henning Heißen (former Head Bar Manager at the Ritz-Carlton Berlin) – sophisticated and absolutely unique.

Dress up and have a drink before the opera! That's what we did, and it was worth it. Great service and great drinks. Prices are on the high side.

A true highlight in Berlin! From the ambiance to the food to the atmosphere – everything at Frederick's was just perfect. I would especially like to highlight the first-class service: attentive, warm, and professional, without being intrusive. You can feel the passion that goes into their work here. I felt completely at home and will definitely be back. I highly recommend it!

Elegant with a touch of "Downton Abbey," only without the strict butlers. The food was delicious, well-seasoned, and served with a smile – the chef knows his craft. We were particularly impressed by the friendliness of the staff. It felt like a mini-vacation in an elegant salon. We'll be back next time, because our dog has already declared the place his new haunt! 🐾

Unfortunately, the food was disastrous; some of it was served cold and lacked any flavor. The service was equally disinterested. A complete disaster. The cocktails were great, and the receptionist was really nice.

First of all, I'd like to say that the restaurant really offers a great ambiance. Unfortunately, I can't help but mention that this positive impression didn't continue at the table. The server's infrequent visits were usually accompanied by snarky comments and inattentiveness. What I initially interpreted as the robust Berlin attitude of a prominent character was, in fact, simply utter rudeness. First, they subtly expressed their less-than-impressed enthusiasm for not choosing an appetizer. It should be mentioned here that I was accompanied by my partner and three friends. The bottle of white wine we ordered was accompanied by the comment, "Who wants to drink this?" after three people ordered another drink. Our wine glasses were then cleared away without comment. When my companion pointed out that he would like to keep his glass to taste, it was grudgingly handed back to us. The food arrived quickly, and I must say: a truly excellent presentation. We were served tacos, goat cheese tiramisu, a Caesar salad, truffle fries, and steak tartare. Unfortunately, my fries were only lukewarm, and the truffle flavor I'd hoped for was missing. We weren't asked if it was okay, nor did anyone want anything else to drink. It wasn't until it became apparent that everyone had finished their meal that the next unsolicited interaction occurred. Upon request, I confirmed that I wasn't satisfied with the steak tartare and the fries. At this point, I would have expected someone to ask what was wrong, not "well, you should have said something beforehand." It's not as if I had handed over an empty plate. Finishing your meal and then criticizing it afterward is inappropriate. I fully understand that, even as a guest, you have a duty to communicate appropriately. The final part of the meal was supposed to be a cocktail. They wanted to send us to the bar for this. The only explanation we could give for the request was that they wanted us out. There were still plenty of free tables that could have been occupied. The requested cocktail menu never reached the table, so they finally asked for the bill. As I was leaving, I tried to speak to one of the staff members to discuss the evening. The conversation ended with a "Sorry." Two people in our group work in fine dining themselves. We were simply speechless. It was probably an unfortunate isolated incident, but it will remain one for me.

Still water also costs €4.50, which, even as a native German, I find simply ridiculous in Germany, paying for still water. The sausage platter isn't that special. However, the fish was very tasty and well-seasoned, and the plant-based steak was also very tasty.

I was here to firstly have a drink, but yet fell in love with the service. Lina guided me to the best drinks ever. Definitely would recommend it.

We had a wonderful Mother's Day brunch at FREDERICKS. Starting with a warm & friendly welcome, we entered this historic building from 1907. Really very attentive, friendly & professional service. Since we arrived with a large, beautiful bouquet of flowers, we were offered a vase and the bouquet was brought/placed on our table. We started brunch with two glasses of Mimosa! An excellent start! Our service lady (Lina) provided excellent service that I haven't had in a long time. Of course, big compliments to the kitchen crew here too! Great, delicious food that is also visually very well presented. A big fat thank you! To the bar manager Leo who conjured up two great espresso martinis - in my opinion, the best espresso martinis in the city! We will definitely come back! Keep it up!

We went for dinner and had an amazing time! The place wasn’t crowded, which made it even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious! The flavors were incredible, and the presentation was just as impressive. We tried the special white asparagus menu, and it was a true treat. For dessert, we had Pavlova, and it was absolutely divine. Definitely recommend. Love the ambiance and the history.

Wir waren mit Freunden bei einem Berlinbesuch in der Bar vom Frederick‘s. Die Hintergrundmusik war angenehm und es gab ausreichend Plätze. Das Preisniveau ist etwas höher, dafür sitzt man gemütlich bei gut gemixten Coctails. Auch Sonderwünsche werden berücksichtigt. Das Personal ist freundlich und zuvorkommend.

We have now visited number 2 as part of Taste 12. Unfortunately it wasn't cheap at first, but once you got in, the service continued throughout the evening... Simply perfect! The food was super tasty, not overly seasoned, all the cooking levels were just right! The cremant was also very good, the wine selection could be better...but all in all a great place, nice music in the background and everyone there was courteous and very polite! The Fredericks is worth an evening!

The evening at Frederick's started promisingly: we were warmly welcomed and the staff was attentive and courteous throughout our stay. The atmosphere of the restaurant is stylish, the furnishings are tasteful and with a clear aesthetic concept - you immediately feel at home here. Unfortunately, the culinary experience that evening couldn't quite keep up with the ambience. The beef tartare seemed quite weak and seasoned with little creativity, so it didn't really impress us in terms of taste. The main courses – truffle pasta and beef fillet – also fell short of our expectations. Despite high quality products, the dishes overall lacked sophistication and depth. However, the complaint management should be highlighted positively: our criticism was received in a friendly and professional manner, which speaks for a good understanding of service. Conclusion: Frederick's scores with a great location, attentive service staff and a stylish atmosphere. If you want to spend a relaxing evening at the bar with a glass of wine and the house fries or snacks, this is the right place for you. However, we still see room for improvement for a consistently convincing dinner experience.

The service was very friendly, very tasty bread, good cocktails, although I was still a bit hungry after eating bread, a starter, a main course and dessert. Everything was clear.

The food was filling and reasonably priced for something akin to fine dining. I loved their cheesecake though

Our visit to this restaurant was a complete disappointment. The beginning didn't bode well: we waited 15 minutes before anyone came to give us the menu cards. The starter didn't come and the wrong drinks were served instead. The main course was not what we ordered. After dinner we sat with our empty plates for 20 minutes, finally gave up dessert, got up, paid and left. An evening that we definitely won't repeat.

Frederick's is located almost under the dome of the Sony Center. Incredibly stylish place, cool bar and cute restaurant. It's very beautiful inside, the bar counter and the whole design are something amazing! The service was excellent, the service was nice, the music was super (chill). We didn't order food. The only thing that upset us a little was the very peculiar choice of cocktails and the prices are too high. But I definitely recommend visiting, there are very few places like this in Berlin🍸🌟🪄✨️

We went to on the 15th Feb and it seems that all they didn’t know how to manage after a party the day before. We ordered the salmon and Veal chicks, no taste at all in the food. I got my veal chicks cold served and very fett inside. We ordered then the lava cake and the crème brûlée. Lava cake seemed like a sponge inside. Crème brûlée, had to return in twice, first time cold and no sugar caramelized on top, second it was liquid and the caramel was like not cracking and sinking to the bottom when you try crack it. Only the place was good.

Fredericks is truly a beautiful and special location. Unfortunately, the service, the bar, the restaurant manager, and unfortunately, the food are all flawed. At a table of ten people, we were handed a single drinks menu. Our request for more menus was skillfully ignored, and it took 20 minutes for us to order drinks – and all the non-alcoholic cocktails were unavailable. The last cocktail at our table didn't arrive until 45 minutes after ordering. Unbelievable! We had pre-ordered the food, so it was served promptly. Unfortunately, the salmon was completely oversalted, and the truffle pasta was cold and far too hard. Fredericks could be such a beautiful location, but unfortunately, neither the value for money nor the service are up to scratch.

I had made my dinner reservation about 3 weeks ago. When I came to the restaurant and talked to the waiter, he showed me the reserved table on the screen but a senior guy showed up and changed the table to the worst one, just at the entrance of the restaurant while there were available ones. I protested and made the change to the original table. I felt humiliated and did not enjoy the dinner.

We've been there several times and were impressed again: the ambiance is fantastic, the food is excellent, and the service is first-class (starting with the cloakroom at the entrance). If you're looking to try something new, you should definitely check out this location on Potsdamer Platz! We'll be back!

Fuimos a Frederick's para tener nuestra última noche en Berlín, y la experiencia gastronómica que realmente fue. Wow! We enjoyed it so much we came back two nights in a row. Particularly for the bar. Food was great but if you want traditional German then go to one of the many other great choices in the area for that. I had the Salmon main and the cheesecake and both were fantastich. Don't worry if you're not a German speaker as all the staff we spoke to were bi or more lingual. Leo on the bar gets a special shout out, very attentive, great conversation and he rustled up a couple things for me and my girlfriend that weren't on the bar menu. Just got back from my annual Xmas goose feast. This time at Frederick’s. The meat was tasty, would rate it as one of the best I’ve had in a while. Loved the balanced spices. Service was top notch. Good hidden option in an otherwise boring part of town.

High expectations due to the reception and the interior. The food was very disappointing. It arrived less than 5 minutes after ordering, we didn't have time to eat our Sharif dish. We went at 6:30 PM and no one was there, which felt very strange. After we reported that the food was really not tasty, they did nothing about it. I certainly wouldn't recommend it.

Truffle pasta tastes like mac and cheese (also made with macaroni) that accidentally dropped some truffle on it. Completely overpriced and no better than a ready meal. Non-alcoholic cocktails are also just simple sodas, but the prices are exorbitant (and yes, we expected it to be expensive, but you also expect some quality for that). There were 4 of us during the week around 6:30 p.m., the restaurant was and remained completely empty! We were given a table right next to a couple in the huge, empty hall. Due to the lack of guests, the ambience didn't come across as well, but the restaurant would have been very nice based on the location. The waiter seemed disappointed that we didn't take a bottle of alcohol. Overall a disappointment, wouldn't go there again.

This was booked for my Birthday Treat.! Went to the bar for drinks & looked at drinks menu which was ok & not too expensive. Upon going into the restaurant we were told it was a different wine menu & not the type of wines we would order.! Like Malbec & Sauvignon Blanc. Tried the wines and for the mark up was extremely higher. We had a bottle of sparkling wine in the end at €58.! Well over priced. My boyfriend did complain about two price lists & the Bar attendant said they did do better wines which we were offered in the end. We were told in the restaurant that they didn’t offer the wines we wanted. As they had over ordered. So being offered only German wines was not acceptable. The manger was not forthcoming with why.! Food was very nice & bar staff were very friendly.

We stopped by spontaneously for dinner on a Saturday night, not knowing anything about the restaurant and its history. We tried a few cocktails in the bar before dinner and they were average at best. Only standard cocktails were offered and the bar tenders were struggling when we asked if they had any specials. Strangely enough, the bar was more or less empty, in spite of being very nicely decorated. We would have expected a bar like this to be quite full. The restaurant was the same - almost empty from 7pm, and wasn’t even half full at 9:30pm. The restaurant is very big, with enormous ceiling height, so it’s an odd feeling eating in an almost empty restaurant. The interior design is odd, the bar is much better. The staff is friendly and correct, but completely uninterested when you give feedback on the food. The food is good, and the wine list short but pretty good. We enjoyed our evening at Frederick’s and might give it another chance.

We were in the bar, not the restaurant, after a concert. The staff was particularly positive, without exception. Very accommodating and friendly, you felt like you were a very welcome guest. Several of the non-alcoholic cocktail menu were not available (deleted from the menu) and the one I had chosen wasn't there either. On the recommendation, I took another one, but I didn't like it at all (it tasted like diluted lemon juice). I then got another one, Freestyle according to my specifications without alcohol, not sour, no herbs and it tasted amazing. Frederick's is a very good address for a special occasion.

Service was really bad. Stared at us the whole time and didn't understand what we were saying. Couldn't tell us what the wine by the glass was (it wasn't on the menu). Generally poor wine selection. Food overpriced for what it is. Only the atmosphere is very good. Nicely furnished and acoustics good too!

We were there with a larger group and wanted to enjoy a nice evening. Unfortunately, the service was uncoordinated and, despite the desire to consume the beef tartare as a main course, the dish was served as a starter. The Caesar salad with beef fillet tips that my friend ordered was also served too early. A bottle of water was also only brought after repeated requests and a couple of friends were seriously asked if they needed any more plates for their dish, which was obvious since the dish was served in a casserole dish. The presentation of the food was generally bland and the taste was second rate. Be careful here, half a raw eggshell is pressed into the beef tartare, although salmonella could be on it. Personally, I'm glad I stuck to one aisle and didn't leave more money in the store. My guess is that Frederick's won't exist in this form for much longer. Only the ambience could make up for it, although the concept doesn't seem entirely coherent. In my opinion, the tables could be set at these prices and the menus look cheap. Everyone can judge for themselves the Berlin peculiarity that only English is spoken to you (reception). And the fact that scantily clad women posed on the marble stairs in the foyer for their Instagram channel also seemed disturbing to me. Everyone in the group was disappointed with the evening and will probably be their last time at Frederick's.

Atmosphere was sooo bad, and this place was on the list for quite some time. Safe to say won’t be going there again. Went out on a Saturday evening and it was like we were stuck in a twilight zone, with a dress code 😅 More than half empty, music was almost nonexistent, weird in general (not good kind of weird). However, people who were working there were really polite.

We expected the place with a lot of anticipation, but were unfortunately bitterly disappointed. Despite the service making an effort, our main course was served just 10 minutes after we ordered. The food was below average for the price. The meat was lukewarm, the beans were undercooked and tasted burnt, the mushrooms seemed warmed up. But the worst thing was the Caesar salad, the chicken was warmed up a second time and unseasoned. The quality doesn't justify the price, despite a nice but cool atmosphere.

I recently visited Bar Fredericks in Berlin and absolutely loved it! The ambience is really cool and unusual - perfect for a special evening. The high-quality furnishings create a great atmosphere in which you immediately feel at home. The drinks are of excellent quality and very creatively designed. Every cocktail we tried was a little work of art and tasted amazing. The bar not only offers a great selection but also great service. I highly recommend Fredericks and look forward to my next visit! Five Stars from me!

We ended up at Fredericks by chance and were surprised to discover such a bar! The rooms were very impressive and impressive. We only had one cocktail at the bar, unfortunately there wasn't enough time for more. However, the price wasn't entirely fair...two small beers and a glass of Aperol Spritz were available for €23!

Visited self-service Fredericks's for the first time today - because of the good reviews. Had a piece of cherry crumble, a flat white, a latte (large), two large raspberry lemon iced teas and a large fresh cold mint tea. Cost: €30 Unfortunately the cake didn't meet my taste; Thought it was vegan (texture and taste). Anyone expecting buttery streusel will be disappointed. But I'm sure others will enjoy it. Except for the fresh mint tea, the drinks were really good. The mint tea (€4.80) is served like this: large cocktail glass, ice cubes, cold (tap?) water and a sprig of crushed mint - so that the aromas can develop. I will still come back, the coffee was really too good for that.

I came here as spontaneous decision. It’s good that it worked out well without an appointment beforehand. I just wanted to try out their cocktails so I took a sit on the bar. There’s also a restaurant part that is also nice. I ordered “Ein Hauch Ginlichkeit” first as I love Gins (It was served with an interesting glass- picture attached). And then I ordered Cherry Pop. Both cocktails tasted quite good and gave me a refreshing feeling as described in their introduction on the menu. The atmosphere and the ambiance is really nice for a bar. Everything is very clean and bears a certain quality. It’s located in Postdamer Platz in Berlin, very center of the city. Definitely recommend here.

Table reserved for 5. Birthday occasion. Was also specified, but has been made when making the reservation and later no one is interested in service. Oh, ok...somewhat disappointing. Location is large and interestingly decorated. The pictures speak for themselves. This can happen especially in the area of Bar works, the area where we ate the food was acoustic unpleasantly uncomfortable, like a train station hall. But overall the operator does it very well solved. I can't confirm anything about unpleasant smells in the entrance, quite the opposite - There was definitely a scent diffuser set up there that worked quite well and was pleasant atmosphere created. For dinner we had pasta + truffles, beef fillet...salad with shrimps...and Chicken. Water...2x dessert...2x cocktails. The portions are shocking (and that's mine I'm very serious) small. You don't expect that you won't be full with a card like this but you feel hungry, that hasn't happened to me either. I would have clear clues requested on the menu, but instead Mir said pasta+truffles. The pasta...that was it 6...7 large paccheroni (I think)...a sauce like it's from a can and really bad old tasteless truffle. I love truffles, I've eaten them a lot and often, but never like this so tasteless and odorless. The food was a break from the habit. Steak was on the point good. The salad...cough...sorry, but what's the point...you can get that from everyone decent Viet better. Just to understand: I don't have anything for my pasta for €14 said, just frowned, but anyone who asks for €29 for it creates expectations... and that's where it stays of the restaurant is really MILES behind. At least I enjoyed all the dishes horrified. The “crowning highlight”: the bread with butter...for €6. Honestly - this is highway robbery and absolutely levelless. The bread was run-of-the-mill black bread that was also lightly toasted became; so tricky turns every xxxx into something edible (if I make stale bread more bearable If you want to do it, just toast it briefly...it works). Who comes up with that? Then the cocktails... :-( I've read here and there that the bar is currently one of the tops in Berlin. If you... Looking at the bottles in the middle of the bar, then I can at least confirm that you are there above-average quality. But that doesn't make a drink fancy and fancy and crazy fancy, just because they give it the longest, most exotic and unpronounceable names possible. I had no idea what...it actually ended up being a whiskey sour on Markers Mark Basic and not even well done. The egg white was far too loose and airy, the glass was high and very narrow...and filled with a long ice cube stick. It takes up around 40% volume taken, leaving an estimated 110-120ml for my drink. Then 15€ for that (or was it more?!) is just a cheeky rip-off. I have a cocktail ordered...hellllllo, and not a lemon-flavored lollipop ice cream, that's not one either Highball....Christ...how dare you call something like that a highball, of course all non-protected terms...but where is the bartender honor?! I just want to clarify this: I have no problem with 20€ for a cocktail that is really well created and has some drinking volume and brings class. It's not about the money...if the return is right. But This was really NOTHING...too much of the wrong ice cream (please use scoops or real ice cream). branded, self-produced crystal clear cubes) too much of the bad protein (what That's actually supposed to be: vegan protein...so just an artificial substitute??)..too much of it Lemon juice...too expensive...and then with a glass tube as a drinking straw. OMG...now it's happening right Malle. Zero decoration (I don't expect any umbrellas..but level) zero imagination, that The tube really took my shoes off. Not recommendable!

Beautiful location, incredibly nice and attentive service, the food was also great - only one star deducted here because the truffle fries could have been crispier - but all in all a really great evening & we'll definitely be back

Very exciting and extraordinary gastronomy directly in the Sony Center. Big challenge for the operators of this very demanding location for very specific target groups with appropriate budgets. Definitely worth a visit. The bar could also have been used as a filming location for Babylon Berlin. 🥂🍾🍽🍺

The food was fantastic, cocktails innovative, ambiance fabulous. Service was fine … not sure if they were short staffed but waiter took a minute. We ate well and were happy to be leaving before the bar ramped up.

Had a great experience at this restaurant. Great atmosphere. A bit on the higher end. Definitely worth it. Food was fantastic, severs were fun. The truffle pasta and white asparagus are awesome.

It couldn't be more unprofessional! We wanted to celebrate a birthday at Fredericks Bar last night and had originally made reservations for 7 people at 10pm. On the way to the bar we reported 3 times that we would be delayed and wouldn't be there until 11 p.m. When we arrived we were greeted by a nice lady. And the manager came over and told us there was a technical problem with the card reader and whether we could pay in cash or via Paypal. We said no problem, both are possible! Then we were placed in the bar and wanted to wait for the other guests who were just looking for a parking space and drove over an hour from Brandenburg. Less than a minute after we sat down, the waiter came to us and said sry guys, there is a technical problem here and we can only do one round. As I said, it was 11 p.m. and the store was supposed to be open until 2 a.m. We then said what the whole thing was about and that we had been driving here for over an hour and wanted to celebrate a birthday. The waiter didn't care about the whole thing and just said you'll find another bar... Why didn't they tell us three times on the phone that there were problems when we called?! Or at the latest the manager could have told us that only one round is possible. The only problems that arose for us were 7 cars that all drove up for over an hour for nothing and a messed up birthday. And all of this on a Friday in Berlin. No compensation was offered either.

We found this hidden gem on our last night in Berlin & wished we’d known about it earlier! The food was so good and the staff next level. A special shout out to Martin - they were amazing and so kind! Loved the cocktails and the atmosphere. Highly recommend Frederick’s.

Unfortunately the store doesn't really get full. This comes at the expense of a pleasant atmosphere. The bar often remains half empty. At 10 p.m., as friends tell me, guests are often no longer allowed in the bar because the waiters have called in sick, and the remaining waiters are overwhelmed by the task of mixing the cocktails in a timely manner. The restaurant closes way too early. A nice location, nice waiters, but bad management!

Sorry, but that was the most expensive €32 today and unfortunately also the worst salmon I've eaten so far. Three slices of bread with butter 6€ 🙈 ...

Почему-то в ресторанной части стоял запах краски. Музыка играла слишком громко, приходилось буквально кричать, чтобы услышать собеседника. Плейлист совершенно не подходит для этого места. Коктейли пытались сделать с изюминкой, но получилось не очень и в плане оформления, и в плане вкуса. О еде. Севиче пустое, без пикантной ноты. Рыба из основного меню была пересолена.

The service was top notch and I felt very comfortable. It's quite expensive but quality has its price. The food was super tasty, I was really impressed. Just right for a birthday or an anniversary (like ours). I would like to come back!

Swish place, don’t go too early as it was quiet to start with. Nice to have a meal in Berlin without huge portions, but it’s expensive. €150 for main, dessert and two drinks.

Great historical place. We only visited the bar but were impressed by the design and friendliness there.

I had dinner there with friends and we were all very disappointed with the portions in the restaurant. After 5 minutes there were more plates and no one was full. Therefore, a visit to the restaurant there will not be repeated.

Unfortunately, our second visit fell completely short of the first. The ambience and service were really more than 🔝 after that Unfortunately, we didn't have a culinary main course for starters. Both the pulpo and the cauliflower were fried to stone. Also at the next table. Unfortunately we were not offered to prepare the meal again. Dessert is a nice offering, but it doesn't replace the meal you came for. This definitely has to get better again.

A really great and worthwhile event location! The Fredericks shows its class, spaciousness and exclusivity on various floors and levels. From the bar to the tables on the outside window facade or the niches with sofas and armchairs. The drinks served are of selected quality. The service deserves five stars.

It was our first visit there, but definitely not our last. We had a wonderful evening. From the food to the ambience to the friendly staff, everything was very harmonious and corresponded exactly to our expectations. Frederick's is definitely worth recommending!

We had a seven course dinner here. Ambience was great. The food was delicious but definitely too expensive compared to other restaurants.

Food looked really good but was quite tasteless. Atmosphere was great until they started to play music way too loud. We had to leave to another place because we couldn’t have any conversation. Service was friendly until we tried to pour wine ourselves after waiting with empty glasses for some while.

Superb interiors n upbeat music. The drinks were pretty uniquely named and tasted wonderful. The presentation is totally worth it.

Booked a table for brunch for my partners birthday. Everything was absolutely awful! We were just pointed to a table in the corner, where we waited 15minutes just for some one to bring over menus! We then asked for some water for the table, which we never received until our food arrived. We were seated for 30mins before anyone came over to take our order, received part of our food order another 30mins after ordering and still no drinks or water. Elements of the meal where missing, i had to request it 3 times, but still never received it. By this time the day was ruined so we just ate what poor food we had and then when we asked for the bill, we were just handed a card machine with an amount on it, no bill! And were told we would receive a bill once we paid. Absolutely appalling, ruined the whole day and my partners birthday! Would not recommend at all.

We came to our reservation, and the girl at the front desk was extremely nice. We were shown to our table promptly. However, the drink menu was somewhat confusing. We ordered our drinks that were not very good. The price was right, however, just didn’t have a good taste. The music was extremely loud and we were not able to hear each other speak. If you were a tourist, this is a good place to maybe come for a drink otherwise I would avoid as the atmosphere is not great and the drinks were not great. I think they were understaffed unfortunately. This place has great potential.

Went here with a group. The setting is relaxed, music isn't too loud which is ideal for conversation. High ceilings. Menu is varied and well-suited to a variety of tastes. Service was a bit spotty overall.

Extraordinary ambience - something special. Excellent - not cheap - food in every way. However, 5 slices of bread for €6 is a bad joke. One point deducted for the very inattentive service - and the limited stay time.

I can't review the food here because we never got to sample it. We booked Frederick's some weeks in advance for lunch when visiting our daughter in Berlin. I had an e-mail the day before confirming our forthcoming reservation . When we arrived at the restaurant it was closed ! I later found an e-mail sent at @ 4am that morning confirming our reservation had been cancelled, with no explanation. Very disappointing customer service.

Beautiful restaurant and very good bar with selected dishes and drinks in a special upscale atmosphere of the old Grand Hotel Esplanade.

It's a good place if you're in Berlin, the truth is that I went with my family, we had a good time, it's a nice, pretty good place, with a lot of space, the waiters are very attentive. The cocktails are well decorated in a simple way, but the only thing I don't like so much The flavor was my choice and my girl's is not what I expected but we had a good time, good atmosphere to relax and share

Suberb atmosphere inside, attantive hosts helpful concierce and tasty food! Shared menus wasnt available anymore so we had to hit alacarte. Not sure if i like the size of the portions relatively not fulfilling to its prices still a fun night with friends!

The food was good. But there are much better restaurants in Berlin that offer more delicious food. What bothered us was the loud music. We could barely talk and ended up leaving. More pleasant music in the background that doesn't interfere with conversations would be optimal. The service in Restaurant was great and friendlier than the one at the bar.

It was my first Berlinale and my visit to Berlin and I must say......Berlin was good...... and Fredericks was spectacular. I went again 2 days later and it was absolutely a 1940s big band venue with a DJ instead of a Band. Just Excellent. Can't wait to visit again during this years' Berlinale.....at least once.
