A table for three out-of-town guests was reserved by phone a week in advance based on the recommendation of another fully booked restaurant. Two days later, we received a confirmation by phone. Upon entering the restaurant, we weren't given a table; the original reservation was crossed out in the reservation book. There was no sign of any great willingness to help. Not a restaurant visit, actually 0 stars.

A menu suitable for men, generous portion sizes, and a pleasant atmosphere. The only issue was that the service was a bit overly busy. Definitely worth a visit.

A beautiful, upscale restaurant; so far, there hasn't been a dish that wasn't good. The menu changes, there's a good selection, and the service is friendly. When the restaurant is busy, you'll have to wait a bit longer, but it's manageable; what you get is worth it.

For me, this is currently THE restaurant in Magdeburg. Upscale crossover (?) cuisine of the highest quality. The prices are justified, but on the high side. I'd happily go back!

This was my second time here, about a year apart. The food was the same both times. The food is really good and tastes great. The service definitely needs improvement. The lady can only serve one table at a time (she even says so). So you wait until table 1 has received their order, then she goes to table 2 and takes your order there. Once they've received their food, it's table 3's turn... In other words... It takes time. So if you have time and aren't too hungry, you can eat well here. Just don't be in a hurry.

A spontaneous decision, no regrets. I went back the next day. Top-notch cuisine, excellent service! It was definitely worth the money.

A truly successful restaurant visit! Even the starter – "Vitello 2.0" – was a real highlight: creatively interpreted, perfectly flavorful, and beautifully presented. The main course was classic – Wiener Schnitzel with asparagus – and again: absolutely top-notch! Crispy, tender, perfectly seasoned, and the asparagus cooked to perfection. The service was consistently friendly, attentive, and professional – you feel truly welcome as a guest. All in all, an evening you'll gladly return to. A definite recommendation!

Absolutely consistent quality! I have been coming to the FRANX restaurant regularly for 3 years now and have always left very satisfied. At this point I would like to thank Mr. Schwarzer and his entire team. Far from my home in Bavaria, I can always feel good and enjoy the culinary delights.

Unfortunately, the ambience has been the same for over 10 years and no renovations have been made. The food was okay, but unfortunately lacked seasoning, even with salt or pepper it wasn't any better. Very mixed menu, many different cultures that were tried to be included. The food came quickly and the price was right.

Ich habe zum ersten Mal mit meinen Kollegen das Franx im Zuge der Weihnachtsfeier besucht. Das Restaurant ist klein und unscheinbar. Reservierung ist hier Pflicht. Sehr höfliches und aufmerksames Personal. Und wurden die Jacken abgenommen und später auch wieder gebracht. Das Restaurant ist gemütlich und hat einen leichten Moulin Rouge Touch. Es gibt eine kleine Karte. Die Preise sind im höheren Segment. Meine Kollegen haben fast ausschließlich Ente mit Klößen gegeben und waren erfreut. Meine Kollegin hatte Leber und ich fand ihren Teller für die Portionsgröße sehr sehr wenig -sie war danach immer noch hungrig. Meine andere Kollegin hatte die Bowl und war sehr begeistert. Ich an meiner Stelle hatte Lachs auf Pasta. Für mich war es ok. Kleine Portion, mittelmäßig Lachs, viel Gemüse. Meiner Ansicht nach hat das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht gestimmt. Viele von uns waren nach dem Hauptgang noch hungrig und haben zum Dessert (großer Teller Kaiserschmarrn) gegriffen.

People wanted to eat in this restaurant as part of a birthday party. The Franx has a nice ambience and has a large area for several guests. That evening the restaurant was well attended with numerous guests. We sat down at our reserved tables and received the drinks menu after a few minutes. We also asked the staff for another chair, which was immediately denied. We were told that "you would have to send a guest away to get a chair". About ten minutes later, another waitress took our drink order. Afterwards you could see the staff running back and forth and serving the other guests. As soon as we entered the restaurant we had the impression that the service staff were overwhelmed, which didn't change afterwards. The employees almost rolled over while walking and almost bumped into each other. After a quarter of an hour we noticed that we still hadn't received any drinks. We were patient and waited hoping that the drinks would be served in a timely manner. But when after more than 45 minutes there were still no drinks on the tables, we asked where the drinks we had ordered were and when we could order the food. The service employee asked his colleagues what was going on with the drinks. A few minutes later the drinks arrived - apparently they had forgotten about us! While serving, we asked an employee whether it would take that long to order and serve the food - no answer, just a confused face. A waiting time of over 45 minutes is not acceptable! We had decided to take our drinks, pay and leave the restaurant. We explained to the employee that we would leave after drinks. After a short while, another employee came to the table and apologized for how the evening had gone. He offered us two bottles of red wine and wanted a fresh start to the evening. We politely declined and left after paying. That evening the staff seemed stressed and disorganized. It's not okay to keep guests waiting for that long. Even if an employee Christmas party or something similar takes place at this time, the staff must be prepared accordingly! No recommendation for the restaurant. Maybe you can visit the Franx again in a year - provided the organization is right!

Super nice and competent employees. The food was very good and I thought the selection was great. You can say everyone will find something.

First of all: I rate restaurants that I would like to visit again and again, because something can always go wrong with a one-time stand... and impressions are always individual. I also think a maximum of 5 stars is too undifferentiated. I plant a maximum of 10. And in the pot are all of them, including visited stars. So don't worry if it's not a Google 5. I still think you're great. At Franx I'm at 6 out of 10. The menu is global. That's quite a claim. You can actually eat whatever you want, it's all good. But some things are just better. Others can do some things better. I like the German and Mediterranean tapas, but also pretty much all the main courses, dessert is also good if you can manage it. Which brings me to the price-performance ratio. Here the thumb clearly goes up, it fits. And that is rather the exception for MD, period. Not to forget the staff. You always feel in good hands. The two girls and the rest of the group always do it with a certain something. Even if it takes a little longer because the store is full. Oh well, I can drink something too. I tend to put myself in the grape corner. The wine selection is decent and I don't feel ripped off here either, but even without % there is something that tastes good. Not to forget the espresso with the small “praline”. When you go out you know that you will come back.

A wonderful evening that we will repeat! We love trying out restaurants and felt really comfortable at Franx. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy and elegant at the same time. The service is consistently ultra-friendly and humane. Tapas and main course were very, very good! Overall just great and definitely worth a visit! 👌👍👍

A lot of things fit here! Very appealing atmosphere. Very friendly people who do the Franx. Imaginative, beautifully interpreted international cuisine. We like to eat the colorful tappas, e.g. liver and caper apples - not often found 😉 Not cheap, but everything is adequate. A clear recommendation.

Food and ambience okay / But be careful: my expensive and partly exclusive, clean and well-kept clothing (Adidas, completely neutral, i.e. without club or national logo)) was offensive to a waitress ("please come dressed properly next time, we are an upscale restaurant") - by the way, a reference to a dress code (e.g. when making reservations by telephone, on the homepage, at the entrance door) - it has never happened to me that the globally recognized Adidas brand is not acceptable in everyday life, because I just wanted to go out for dinner with friends and not, for example, to the opera ball... = only 3 stars overall / P.S. (fashionable,) ripped jeans were not objected to...

Wir waren (viel zu) lange nicht mehr im Franx. Das war ein Fehler..... Freundliche Begrüßung, die Jacken werden abgenommen (super, damit hängen sie nicht wie in einer Kneipe über die Stuhllehne!), die Speisekarten überreicht. Nachdem man Zeit zum Stöbern hatte, wird die Getränkebestellung aufgenommen. Nachdem diese da sind, wird die Speisenbestellung aufgenommen. Die Speisen kommen in angemessener Zeit und sind richtig heiß. Qualitativ und auch quantitativ sind sie ganz oben angesiedelt. Die Preise dafür sind absolut angemessen. Dazu kommt ein sehr aufmerksamer Service, der immer im richtigen Moment zur Stelle ist, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Fazit: Alles richtig gemacht! Für das Franx gibt es nach wie vor eine ausdrückliche Empfehlung von uns.

The Franx's cuisine combines a good mix of different influences at a high level. The atmosphere is very stylish and pleasant. The menu reads very well. The selection of creative dishes, desserts etc. is excellent. The wine list contains select good wines. For beer lovers, there are New Castle, Hofbräu and Estrella on tap, among others. The service is very professional and very friendly. The table reservation using the contact form provided worked perfectly. Plus: For larger groups, family celebrations etc. The Franx has a separate salon. There is a terrace outside.

We ended up here again after 2 years. I reserved a table online. Two days beforehand I called again to confirm, although the reservation was not reserved. Nevertheless, we got the table as requested. There were a couple of starters to eat. These were very tasty. Especially the caper apples. For the main course we had the burger, the salad with turkey, although the meat was a bit dry, and the thick rib. This was also delicious. The staff was at the table a little too often. In my opinion, the performance was not optimal. Unfortunately it was also too cold in the back room where we sat. Overall it was ok.

The food tasted great, you can't complain much. However, I found the way I deal with customers a bit questionable; there is definitely still a lot of room for improvement. The well-intentioned advice was countered by one of the waitresses who was extremely annoyed. Unfortunately, that doesn't come across as charming and would damage the restaurant's reputation in the long term.

The staff is very polite and accommodating. You feel very comfortable. The food is very tasty and you're happy to pay for it. For a nice evening and good food, I would recommend it.

cozy restaurant with very tasty food We were in the restaurant on a Saturday evening and were warmly welcomed. We had a comfortable spot in a seating area. The map is clear, yet sufficient. Limoment and Scheurebe white wine were chosen as drinks. As a starter we had various tapas and were very surprised by the smaller quantity, but still very tasty aroma. As a main course we enjoyed the Gnocchi Matteo and Black Flank. The quantity of main courses was sufficient and also very tasty and aromatic. It was damn tasty. For dessert there was brownie, which is a chocolate brownie with honey ice cream. The evening was thus completely rounded off with a sweet taste experience. We ordered two double espressos to go with this brownie. We found out from the map that the beans come from Aschersleben. The espressos were damn aromatic and intensely full-bodied. (After the weekend we went straight to Aschersleben to visit the coffee men!) We were extremely satisfied with the evening at Franx and would love to come back. As a note: the price for this selection of drinks and food is around 110 euros for two people.

Sehr gutes Essen mit passender Weinkarte. Tolles Ambiente. Gut mit der Bahn zu erreichen. Parkplätze gebührenpflichtig. Weitere Parkmöglichkeit im Parkhaus am Schleinufer/Elbbahnhof.

Wieder einmal einen schönen Abend im Franx verbracht... Ich hatte online eine Reservierungsanfrage erstellt und wurde zeitnah mit der Bestätigung zurückgerufen. Der Service ist sehr freundlich (wo bekommt man schon noch die Jacke abgenommen?) und hat auch Ahnung bei Fragen zu Wein und Gerichten. Die Auswahl der Weine ist top, da fiel die Entscheidung schwer und so haben wir zwei verschiedene Weine in 0,25l Karaffen gewählt... Vorweg gab's für mich Vitello Tonnato (wird in großer oder kleiner Portion angeboten), was super war! Das Kalbfleisch wurde nicht als übliche dünne Scheibchen serviert, sondern gezupft und mit sämiger Tonnato-Creme darüber. Das Carpaccio meines Begleiters war auch sehr gut! Das gibt es "leider" nur als große Portion. Die anschließenden Hauptgerichte - Lebertürmchen und die "schwarze Flanke" - waren ebenfalls sehr gut zubereitet und jeweils rosa gebraten. Für ein Dessert war danach leider kein Platz mehr. ;-) Wir kommen gern wieder!

Das weisse Curry war leider zu weich geraten, die Portion meiner Frau war o. K. Sehr junges aber fleissiges Personal, Ambiente ist in Ordnung, wenn es voll wird, ist es sehr laut.

Dieses Restaurant gehört nicht hier her, Bedienung unverschämt. Online eine Reservierungsanfrage gestellt, beim Rückruf Bestätigung der Uhrzeit erhalten, am Abend an der Tür abgewiesen worden, man hätte auf die Mailbox gesprochen (gar keine vorhanden). Nochmals, dieses Restaurant kennt keinen Service.

Gastronomie nach unserem Geschmack! Wir waren zu viert vor Ort. Zunächst wurden wir sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend empfangen. Uns wurde der Tisch gezeigt, Jacken abgenommen und kurze Zeit später die Empfehlung des Tages vorgetragen. Unsere ausgewählten Speisen waren hervorragend und die Größe sehr treffend. Selbst die zuvor sehr vorlauten Männer wurden satt. ;-) Natürlich muss ich mich meinen Vorrednern anschließen, dass die Karte nur ein „geringes“ Angebot aufweist. Dies spricht aber für eine hohe Qualität der Speisen. Da die Küche ihre ganze Liebe zum kochen, in die Gerichte stecken kann…UND der Gast kommt nicht in die Bredouille, von 100en Gerichten „erschlagen“ zu werden. Dennoch eine kleine Anregung: 1-2 Speisen könnten vielleicht wieder einmal durch andere ersetzten werden. 😊 Nun denn…das Personal, das uns durch diesen Abend führte, bekommt ein Bienchen. Sie waren durchweg freundlich, unserer heiteren Stimmung angepasst aber dennoch respektvoll und zuvorkommend. Wir kommen jederzeit gerne wieder und empfehlen das Franx fleißig weiter. PS: Der Kaiserschmarren ist ein Gedicht. 🤌🏼

Wir waren eine Gruppe von 10 Leuten. Das Essen war sehr gut, der Service ebenfalls.

Wir sind ohne Reservierung, trotz vollem Haus, sehr gut bewirtet worden. Zanderfilet und Gnocchi waren sehr schmackhaft. Preis-Leistung passt. Ambiente urig ,ähnelt einem Wiener Kaffeehaus

Ein guter Freund und Kollege hatte mich hierher eingeladen und ich war überwältigt! Die Speisekarte ist zugegeben nicht sehr lang aber dafür extrem spannend! Das Ambiente finde ich außergewöhnlich, der Service war überragend und natürlich freundlich, nicht aufgesetzt. Das kam von Herzen. Und dann das Essen und die Weinkarte! Ich freue mich schon extrem auf das nächste Mal und weiß auch schon, was ich ausprobieren muss: Boef Stroganov! Mal gucken ob Ihr an mein Boef ran kommt 😉

Bin zwar nicht so oft dort, aber wenn es so ist, genieße ich die Zeit und das leckere Essen dort. 🥰

Netter Empfang ( am Telefon schnell abgewürgt denke mal aber weil etwas los war )es gab Speisekarte und Weinkarte Bei der Speisekarte fand ich die Auswahl nicht gross also muss schon speziell sein wenn man was essen möchte .preislich gehen fand ich es etwas zu teuer alles im ganzen 2 Wiener schnitzel , Cola und Bier an die 60 Euro , der Kartoffelgurkensalat den es dazu gab war aber lecker gewesen Wartezeit war ca 14 min also vollkommen ok. Parkplätze suchen war etwas umständlich weil alles voll war Ambiente würde ich ehr drin empfehlen wegen anderer Atmosphäre als draußen. Wurde auch öfters gefragt ob man möchte sobald man sah es ist was leer ob trinken oder essen . Und die frage am Ende ob es so stimmt oder was zurück gibt an Geld , denke wenn es stimmt sagt man was dazu ,aber preislich gesehen fand ich war das schon exklusive.

Das etwas andere Restaurant! Keine 08/15 Speisen und alles in top Qualität! Dazu die freundliche und aufmerksame Bedienung. Ich bin wirklich so etwas von positiv überrascht! Die Preise sind angemessen und sind bei diese Qualität voll in Ordnung.

Sehr schönes Restaurant mit leckerem Essen ohne klare Linie, was aber das Konzept ist. Was jedoch ziemlich schlecht war, waren die wirklich sehr langen Wartezeiten. Mit knapp 50 Minuten von der Bestellung bis zum Essen ist schon fast unverschämt. Und das bei Steak und Burger. Ähnlich beim Dessert, was wir nicht mehr bestellt haben. Denn es wurde die Karte gebracht aber dann hat sich knapp 15 Minuten niemand mehr blicken lassen. Bei 4 Desserts ist die Auswahl nach 2 Minuten erledigt. Das kennen wir tatsächlich besser vom Franx.

Das Essen war überragend; die Bedienung sehr freundlich. Ich komme sehr gern wieder und werde das Lokal auch weiterempfehlen.

In JEDER Hinsicht eine Empfehlung

Sehr leckeres Essen in toller Atmosphäre und aufmerksamer Bedienung. Besonders die Dicke Rippe kann ich empfehlen, die Portion ist riesig, da nur wenig Knochen und viel Fleisch an den Stücke ist. Das Fleich ist super zart und toll gewürzt. Leckere Saucen, eine große Portion Krautsalat und knusprige "Kartoffelboote" runden das Gericht ab.

The food here was absolutely insane. The ribs were cooked to perfection and the side dishes were excellent, especially the coleslaw. The gnocchi were super tasty and not at all gluey as they'd been finished in the pan. (My one note, though, would be that there was a bit too much parsley on top which I didn't think was super necessary, and I would have preferred a bit more sage flavor.) They had local beers and the service was prompt and noise level was low despite them having a full house.

unübliche Speisekarte, Gerichte sind schmackhaft. Nach Corona gibt es die zahlreichen Tapas leider nicht mehr.

Ein besonderer Ort in Magdeburg, um einen schönen Abend zu verleben. Ein Highlight ist das Gericht Dicke Rippe, aber auch sonst ist alles sehr schmackhaft und liebevoll angerichtet. Die Einrichtung ist stilvoll und gemütlich. Die Bedienung nett und alle Wünsche erfüllend. Die Garderobe wird einem abgenommen, damit bleibt das gepflegte Ambiente erhalten.

Empfehlenswert !!! Sollte man bei einem Besuch in Magdeburg einplanen!!!

Absolute Topempfehlung! Wir gehen regelmäßig ins Franx und sind immer noch beeindruckt von der Qualität und Kreativität der Speisen. Selten esse ich auch Gemüse zum Steak mit so viel Genuss. Die Garpunkte beim Fleisch sind immer perfekt getroffen, das Ambiente sehr gemütlich und das Personal sehr aufmerksam. Und selbst das Hausbier ist qualitativ sehr gut und wohlschmeckend. Ich empfehle das Franx uneingeschränkt und rate zur Reservierung. Es ist abends immer sehr gut besucht.
