Frankfurter Wirtshaus in Frankfurt am Main

We were there with 6 people. We got a table on a Saturday without any problems. The staff was very friendly. The food tasted very good. The portion size was also completely sufficient. Unfortunately, the side dishes with the meal were only lukewarm at most. The fries were also soggy. We let them go back and got fresh, hot and crispy fries in return. The prices are a bit higher.

Delicious food, superb service, nice atmosphere, in a pleasant location with a a nice view. Enjoyed a wonderful late lunch, reasonable prices for the quality and location. Highly recommend.

A German restaurant. There's a lot of everything. Ordered beer and sausage. I didn't finish the pickled cabbage and left it behind. The cost was just under €30.

I cannot recommend the restaurant. The drinks are listed on the menu as 0.5 liters and come in a much smaller glass. The service took a long time and the food was definitely not justified for the price. In the end, an attempt was made to make more money by paying the wrong amount. You definitely shouldn't do that. We don't go there anymore! Unfortunately, the first post was embarrassingly removed by a lawyer because people can't seem to fully accept the truth here.

Great location on the river! Food was good but nothing to write home about (I thought much of it lacked flavor). Overall, pretty good spot for some German fare.

I had lunch here. The schnitzel was really very good. The meat was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The staff was very attentive and my food came quickly. The atmosphere was quiet and pleasant

Great venue We had a lovely afternoon drink with our friends in this venue with views of the River Main, but the experience was marred when the waiter charged me a 10% tip which made me feel awkward because I felt that I couldn't refuse!

We received a very friendly welcome, even though we were there before our reserved date. We were given, for our taste, the nicest table in the corner. We enjoyed the food very much, the portions are sizeable. The waitress Enisa Sulejmani looked after us the whole evening. She is very attentive and so friendly. Unfortunately, this doesn't happen as often in the hospitality industry anymore. She was the reason that we visited the Frankfurter Wirtshaus a second time before we left.

With the rule that you are not allowed to sit by the window. Not even if all seats are unoccupied and not a single window seat was reserved. Unfortunately only 2 stars otherwise 3 food ok but expensive - tarte flambée standard €17.50

Impossible “personnel management”👎 The food was great and the service was very nice. Unfortunately, she also seemed stressed and driven by the management present.🫣 Unfortunately, we were sitting in the restaurant right next to the “office area” (normal seating area) where there were two gentlemen, one of whom was “talking” in an impossible, incompetent and hurtful manner to the staff, who were summoned as “sweetheart”. We were able to understand the situation described word for word. Something like this is usually not clarified publicly and not in such a “matscho way”. We could see the kitchen area directly. Everything seemed well organized and clean here. Because of the unpleasant atmosphere, we will only have been guests here once 😔.

The Spätzle they served us were closer to Rösti than Spätzle! The quality of the Schnitzel was ok, but the serving were generous!

We were in Frankfurt as a stopover on our return trip and had a few hours until our flight, so instead of spending them at the airport, we decided to fly into the city, which is very easily accessible from the airport. After a bit of searching we ended up at this particular restaurant...and luckily we did!! I think it was the best choice we could have made! First off all the guys working there were great! Especially the guy who served us (unfortunately I didn't keep his name) helped us a lot in everything, he even took my cell phone to charge it which I needed! And now the most important...the food! We got a tarte flambée, a children's menu with pork schnitzel, a schnitzel humbertus and a sausage. Along with these we got a beer, a glass of cider, a coffee, a hot chocolate and finally an apple strudel with ice cream and white chocolate cream... And it was all great! Really, one better than the other!! If we find ourselves in Frankfurt again, it will definitely be our first choice! Thank you very much for everything!

Disappointing We ordered onion schnitzel and mushroom schnitzel, the food came very quickly but couldn't meet our expectations. Generally edible, but more comparable to a canteen. Frozen schnitzel, frozen fries, bagged sauces and the prices are simply cheeky in relation to the service. The waitresses are very nice and accommodating, hence one more star. Just a shame.

I don't think the food is really delicious. Like most German foods, it's a bit salty overall, but it's right in front of the Eiselner Bridge, so if the weather is nice, it would be nice to eat while looking out the window. And when we entered the restaurant, the young female servers didn't immediately show us our seats and were busy talking, but after we were seated, the middle-aged male server in charge of our table was very friendly! The restroom is located inside the restaurant, so I was surprised to see a security guard in front of it, but they explained that it was for the purpose of charging a fee when outsiders use it. They said that if you use the restaurant, you can just use it at your convenience.

We had a beer and flammkuchen, both were great. It was busy but the service was still very good. The restaurant has a nice view of the river. Highly recommended!

Very good restaurant with good dishes, well-filled plates, the staff are very kind and helpful, the only downside is a little expensive, normal Frankfurt is a very touristy city but I also recommend this place

Excellent restaurant with traditional German food cooked to perfection. We arrived quite late and as the kitchen was about to close but we were accommodated. The waiting staff were beyond friendly, food was very tasty and portion sizes were good too. We spent just over €60 including the tip, we had two mains and two soft drinks. Weve been on a Wednesday night and it was quite lovely and full but the atmosphere was cozy and relaxed. Will definitely come back!

I came to Frankfurt's Römerplatz and happened to find it close by. I came here and the service was good and the amount of food (especially the school fees) was huge!! I ate the beef sausage, and my friend ordered the beef sausage. It was delicious, but he couldn't eat it all. The food is delicious. This is Germany! I feel like doing it. By the way, do you get a separate tip later? I didn’t know that because it’s been a long time since I was in Germany. Belgium has a tipping culture. There wasn't.

Surprisingly, everything we ordered was delicious! Grilled chicken, Spätzle, children's menu and dessert - I recommend trying everything 🤩 beautiful view of the Main.

We went twice and both times they kicked us out, the first time we understandably arrived late and the kitchen was closed, the second time we went much earlier and they kicked us out again, the waiter with glasses and a beard gave us no explanation.

This place iz a BIG disappointment. Apart the fact that the place is situated on good place, near the river, there is really nothing else why would someone go there. The food is average, but overpriced. Really overpriced! Zwiebelschnitzel vom Schwein for 22.50€ is way too much for an average schnitzel in an average restaurant. But the worst part is paying. When you ask for the bill, they just come and tell you the price, without bringing the check. I asked once more, and waitress said that she will bring the bill, right after I pay. I really got the bill after that, but it turns out that they added 10% to the bill without asking me! Long story short, go somewhere else. This place is not worth visiting.

Ordered lachsfilet, pretty average unfortunately, more kartoffelsalat than the fish. Binding not the most favored beer of mine, and for 6.50€ (0.5l) pretty expensive. We wanted to celebrate a friend's birthday, and brought a small cake, wanted to order tea and coffee after eating/drinking, we were not allowed and were told "the manager does not allow", we asked to talk to the manager to explain the situtation - surprise, surprise, the manager sleeps at home :D Locationwise - top, nothing else top unfortunately. Hope to see improvements in the menu and especially the customer service. Cheers!

Good food and very friendly staff. We entered for the Hokaido soup, but the dessert was also delicious.

I had a business dinner at the place. Food is about average and what is to expect in a place like this. Service was acceptable but when I was about to pay and didn't pay attention they added a tip of EUR 30 on the bill without my consent.

If only I had not eaten all day, for the past three days, I would’ve finished the Schweinshaxe. For those looking for a culinary, grastronomic experience, the Frankfurter Wirsthaus is the destination. Though we did not have a reservation, we were pleasantly seated and served. Nevertheless, plan on a reservation, the place was packed. The meal arrived within minutes.

I picked grill chicken and half chicken was serviced😄 It was surprising. I wish to order it with a friend to share. I was on bar and I was difficult to cut the chicken on high bar table. There were many families with kids around and too loudly. But traditional menu was satisfied me.

Because of our Central European origin, we were not allowed inside. It is said that they will be closing, but at the same time the "business" was full of customers. Shame

The receptionist denied our entry at 9 pm and said to us they wre closing. The restaurant was supposed to be open until midnight. If you do not want to take my money no problem but do not be rude. The very same receptionist took people that came to the restaurant after us. Avoid this place if you are not born in Frankfurt

We were 3 guys, we ordered 3 main dishes, only two came, and then we ate 2 times, one for the first two dishes and then me alone. Not good service at all, any decent waiter can realize that 2 main dishes for 3 guys..hm maybe there is something wrong. But she didn’t care

The prices do not correspond to the quality of the food or the service. We were told that a table was reserved and no one ever sat down. I do not recommend it nor will I go to this restaurant again.

Far too loud, unpleasant lighting, the glasses remain empty, you should probably leave immediately after eating and make room. The nozzle from the Bembel was completely broken off and there were 0.5 glasses. It doesn't work at all. Prices are steep for the food on offer and as a treat you have to pay for the toilet

Very disappointing. We went for the first time yesterday evening. evening. Even though it was late we were given the possibility to have dinner. Once the food was served, it was literally raw. The chicken looked like it was going to run away. Our surprise came when we decided to open the tupper to eat and it turned out that there was NOTHING in it! They only gave us potatoes and lettuce. 25& thrown away. Pitiful. Obviously we will never come back and we will not recommend it.

Update : August 28. Update October 1. Do not go there under any circumstances! They delete reviews along with Google!!!(5 times already) Freedom of speech? They didn't hear! This establishment was 3.7* now 4.6) So you can pay Google and remove bad reviews? Obviously yes. Despite my appeal to Google, they still deleted the bad reviews... I am contacting the director of the establishment! - Improve the quality of service, the quality of food, and don’t bother removing bad reviews!

Very good restaurant in the middle of Frankfurt. Directly opposite the Eiserner Steg bridge and a 1-minute walk from Römer-Platz. German cuisine. Everything tastes very good. Good beer selection. The only drawback: Unfortunately, prices are above average. But we'll be happy to come back as soon as we're back in Frankfurt :-)

Pleasant place with good local cuisine and good draft beer. Our choice: a veggieflamekuche and another classic. Both very good. The Brale beer is excellent. The servers are friendly.

Food was good, big portion, great location, clean toilets, and Vivien the waitress was super helpful.

Bon repas : une flammekuche veggie et l’autre classique qui étaient délicieuses. La bière pression Brale est très bien. Service sympa. En terrasse, au soleil, on est bien. Certes il y a des voitures qui passent mais en ne s’asseyant pas trop près du bord de la route, on n’est pas dérangé.

I was there with a larger group. Very promising from the outside. The ambience and food were sobering. Everything is simple, the seating is unfortunately so narrow that many guests can fit in it. Getting up and going to the buffet or the toilet only works if the entire row of seats joins in. The solution is one fewer row of tables and two fewer chairs per row. In addition, when the restaurant is full, communication is almost impossible. Even the person sitting next to you cannot be understood unless someone is shouting. The food on offer, especially the warm food, was just average. No proper labeling, sometimes it's not clear what it is... e.g. fries are simply not suitable for keeping warm and become inedible after a very short time. Maybe it was just a bad evening and everything else is different? The first impression doesn't invite you to come back. I'm sorry that I really can't advertise there.

One of the best place to eat and drink some authentic beer. The place was full when we arrived but we were lucky to get a table in about 10 minutes of waiting. Many thanks goes for Vivien Bardi, with a profesional aproach, she managed to serve us the food very fast, always took a look at our beer glasses and made this experience great.

The orange juice we ordered was not freshly squeezed but a bottled version. The food also wasn’t great, it was really bland - we ordered the Bratwurst, Grilled Chicken and Tomato Soup and the Green Sauce. We weren’t able to finish any of the dishes as we didn’t like it. Only the location is good being one of the few riverfront restaurant in the Romer area, but I wouldnt go there to eat again. We went when it was not really full

I was traveling with my colleague in Frankfurt for work and was looking for a restaurant at the end of the day on July 24th, 2024. A very pretty and friendly waitress greeted us on our exploration tour. So I decided to eat there. With such a welcome and such a pretty waitress ;-)Venecia was her name. Hopefully spelled correctly. Very friendly. Top service. We felt very comfortable. Highly recommended. Nice view of the Main.

Pretty good German food covering dishes from all over the country. Enjoyed the pork schnitzel with grüner Soße (a Frankfurt speciality). Prices are a bit higher than some other places , but you do get super-friendly service plus a river view from the outdoor seating. Conveniently located right next to the historic Römer area, there's also options for indoor dining. Staff are very helpful, and menu is both in English and German. This is a great spot for group dining, as the venue is spacious and there's plenty of variety in the menu.
