We spent a wonderful evening at the Frankfurter Hof in Wiesbaden! The food is authentically Hessian, incredibly tasty and served fresh and hot. We were particularly impressed by the traditional dishes - they cook here with a lot of love and quality. The service was also excellent: friendly, attentive and quick. The drink selection is good, and everything was at the perfect temperature. Added to this is the cozy atmosphere, which makes the visit even more pleasant. A small downer: There is no option to pay by card. Unfortunately, we had to make a special trip to the ATM, which involved additional fees - which somewhat spoiled the otherwise perfect impression. Nevertheless: If you want to enjoy real Hessian cuisine in a rustic atmosphere, this is the right place for you! We'd love to come back.

Ein sehr typisches hessisches Lokal mit herzlichem Personal und schmackhaftem Essen! Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen und wir werden auf jeden Fall auch mal im Sommer vorbeikommen. Toller Handkäse in den verschiedenen Varianten, ein Traum für jeden, der Handkäse mag. Wir haben uns quer durch die Karte gegessen und alles für sehr gut befunden. Preis-Leistung passt, Menge passt, Qualität passt. Für uns volle fünf Punkte!

A lovely, rustic restaurant serving Hessian cuisine. The many different varieties of Handkäse (cheese) are a must. The schnitzel selection is also extensive, so there should be something for every taste. The restaurant is large and quite busy, so make a reservation in advance. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait a bit because our table was accidentally given to someone else, hence the one-star deduction for service. Otherwise, everything was great, and we'd be happy to come back.

A large salad plate for €11.50 and it was really small! Mini! Large pack and not nearly full. Not even homemade coleslaw, but ready-made pickled and sweetened coleslaw. Disappointing! The first and unfortunately last time. Too bad.

Wir sind Neubürger in Nordenstadt und wollten im Frankfurter Hof mal Handkäs essen. Gleich zur Öffnung um 17 Uhr da gewesen, ungemütlich kalt. Ungeheizt und das bei Minusgrade, der Handkäs war gut, aber wenn man im Mantel noch friert kann man kein Essen genießen. Im Winter werden wir das Lokal nicht mehr besuchen.

The hand cheese is a dream! Whether classic or a little more extravagant, e.g. as “creamy”, everything is absolutely amazing! The apple wine is also some of the best you can find in the region. Both are also absolutely suitable for take away with nice service at the counter. Very nice service in the restaurant. The beer garden is particularly recommended in summer. Pictures follow.

We were there for a friend's birthday dinner and even though I don't really like Handkäs, I tried it here, along with the tartare, and I liked both very much! Thanks for that 🙃 But the truffle linguine with parmesan was also super tasty 😋 The staff is very friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back.

A true paradise for Meenzer Handkäs fans! The Mainzer hand cheese is homemade here and is truly a taste revelation. The cider was also excellent and was homemade. You can buy Meenzer Handkäs to take away at the counter.

A menu according to Hessian taste: Handkäs with music, green sauce, etc. Prices seem low at first glance, but as soon as you see the size of the main meals, this is put into perspective. But we were all satisfied with the taste. Service was nice and friendly, but very slow due to the large crowds. It took an hour for the food to arrive. The atmosphere is nice and rustic, but sometimes very cramped. Payment was only possible in cash, even though it was advertised differently. But the service found a good solution by subsequently sending the invoice by email and you could transfer it.

Nobody has ever come close to the food and ambience of the Frankfurter Hof. Hand cheese schnitzel in Äbbelwoi cream sauce - a poem. Almost like Goethe.

A delightful cosy restaurant with warm hospitality. The schnitzel is perfectly crispy and tender, and the steak with chanterelles sauce was a standout dish. Just note, it’s cash-only, so come prepared!

Outrageously high prices; cannot be topped in terms of unfriendliness; If you collect your order yourself, you will be outrageously ripped off and more will be deducted than the price shown on the card. I will never buy or eat anything in this den of thieves again. This smells like a scam!!

Were here 3 times, parking is very bad. The food and service are great. Reservations are mandatory, the house is always full, which reflects the service and the good food.

Small portion - big prices. The taste was quite good, although I definitely hoped for more from the green sauce. It was rather tasteless. I went there with high expectations on the recommendation of friends. Unfortunately, it was a bit of a shame. Service was okay, it was extremely busy that evening.

As two Aussie tourists in a small German town, the owners of this beautiful, family run traditional restaurant made our experience not only easy (by providing an English menu and providing us with an English speaking waitress) but so incredibly enjoyable. The food was honestly amazing. If you are looking for an authentic, German experience and food, look no further than this beautiful little restaurant.

Sadly a really bad experience. 30 minutes until we got the drinks, it took 50 minutes the food to come and they did not bring the order correctly and instead apologising they said if we want they can bring the correct order but would need 30 minutes more… staff really unfriendly as well and the food quality really poor. That salad was swimming in dressing, the schnitzel was black and the Kaiserschmarren have a lot of room of improvement. Will not repeat.

Very tasty food. The service staff are very attentive and committed. Unfortunately, only cash payment is possible, but actually also by invoice, which is sent by email. 😊 If we're in the area again, we'll definitely come again! I recommend everyone to have a cabbage puree as a side dish. I was skeptical, but then I wanted to go for it. Next time I'll order cabbage puree twice and eat it with a salad as a main course! 😆

Quaint village restaurant with all the traditional local fare. I had the handkäs mit Musik and Himmel & Erde. Both we're excellent. I washed all that down with a few sour applwoi and an old plum brandy. They have outside/courtyard seating and only take cash. I highly recommend the Frankfurter Hof if you want to try some well prepared local dishes.

The homemade hand cheese, which is available in different variations, is more than just a legend. The consistency is perfect. The onions are chopped very finely. In my opinion, the classic sauce always has too little vinegar and too much oil. The version with creme fraiche is very tasty. The apple wine/Äppelwoi is great.

Love this place! Food is really tasty and portions are decent. Overall a German restaurant worth trying with traditional local dishes. BUT there is one thing I absolutely disliked: You cannot pay by card. Not even with a national debit card. I do not understand such things in 2024! That's why only 4 stars.

From a tip to the Frankfurter Hof in Nordenstadt We don't live far from Nordenstadt but the parking situation has always put me off. For food: we had ribs with sauerkraut and a schnitzel with hand cheese gratin. Last but not least, a Hankäs with music (world class), the best Handkäs I have eaten. Important reservations.

It was my first time here and I'll definitely be back. Great Hessian cuisine, the Handkäs variations are a poem. Everything was perfect, food, service, ambience. Since the restaurant is very busy, you should definitely make a reservation.

Nowadays people really appreciate it when the meat has been cut from a piece of animal. And not adulterated like in many other restaurants. That won't happen to you here at the Frankfurter Hof. Above all, the schnitzel with hand cheese and apple cider sauce with a delicious sour sauce is sensational. I even always order it without breading. You can't get it anywhere else. The service is funny and on the ball. If there were 100 points to be awarded, we would give them.

Waren zum zweiten Mal auf gut Glück da (unter der Woche), hat wieder geklappt, war wieder gut besucht, kein Wunder, dass man besser vorher reserviert, wie es auf der Seite ja steht. Parken ist nicht einfach, ist ein Wohngebiet, muss man halt etwas laufen... Urige Wirtschaft mit "gut bürgerlicher" Küche, Preis -Leistungsverhältnis passt, netter und aufmerksamer Service, waren wieder gerne da.

I can only recommend Äppler with hand cheese. The whiskey tastings in Kabeusje, when they take place again, are also a must.

I was here once a few years ago for a company Christmas party. The food was exceptionally good, the service was friendly and the atmosphere was very cozy. But the best thing was that you can also buy the hand cheese that is served or processed in the restaurant to take away. In this way I still got something out of the visit the following weekend. We came across the Frankfurter Hof by chance and have been coming regularly ever since. Here you can find the best hand cheese far and wide! The Handkäs schnitzel with Ebbelwoi sauce is a dream and the selection of “sauces” for the Handkäse is also terrific. A real taste experience! It looks inconspicuous from the outside, but the restaurant is nicely decorated and in summer you can sit in the courtyard. However, we strongly recommend that you make a reservation!

We are pensioners, have time, Every Friday it's that time, then, in our opinion, the hand cheese withdrawal symptoms hit us. I've been coming here to eat cheese by hand for 70 years or more. My friend, like me, experienced in hand cheese, he ordered a table here 30 years ago, because you could and that applies until the end of your life. The restaurant is perfect because we really like the hand cheese. We really enjoy sitting here with Äppelwein and wheat beer. We then eat happily with our wives, the hand cheese menu up and down. The staff is first choice, the boss here is an original, anyone who has been a customer here for more than 30 years will still be kissed at the counter. (If there is no Corona at the moment). I'll put it this way, I'm Hesse, I can always eat hand cheese. When we were on holiday in SPO 3-4 years ago, as an old Hesse, I had to eat dead fish every day. The best thing was What I like, we ordered "Handkäs" here, it was brought to SPO overnight with UPS in a flash. I can't give you more tips here, you have to experience it all yourself.

Der Raum war nicht wirklich geheizt. Alle ein wenig am frösteln. Die Bratkartoffeln haben weder Salz noch Pfeffer gesehen. Manche waren angebrannt, manche Gefühlt roh. Das Rumpsteak war wie bestellt medium. Bezweifle aber das es vom Jungbullen war. Eher von einer alten Kuh. Die Kräuterbutter allerdings war lecker. Persönlich würde ich aber nicht wiederkommen. Service war bemüht, hat mir aber anstatt zuckerfreier Cola die normale serviert. Naja macht ja einem Diabetiker nichts aus. Insulin wird's schon richten.
