Frango Português in Düsseldorf

Ich habe lange mit mir gekämpft, ob ich eine Bewertung abgeben soll. Aber nach meinem letzten Portugalbesuch habe ich mich doch dazu entschlossen. Was meine Frau und ich bei unserem letzten Besuch serviert bekamen, war alles andere als landestypische Küche, Der iberische Schinkenteller wurde auf einem Dessertteller als "Restehaufen" serviert. Kleine und größere Schnipsel aufeinandergetürmt. Als Hauptspeise Babycalamaris in der Pfanne, Pommes Frites und Salat. Es waren weiße, in Öl heißgemachte kleine Tuben ohne Zentakel, Tiefkühlware. Von Röstaromen keine Spur. Das hatte mit den angebotenen Speisen nichts gemein. Es war ungenießbar. Als wir den Ober darauf hinwiesen, lächelte er. Das wars. Nie wieder werde ich dieses Lokal aufsuchen.

My impression from the restaurant, we booked a table on April 29th (6 p.m.) we (were there at 5:50 p.m.) decided on a table inside, the outside area was empty at the time, cards were placed on the table, so far everything was ok, another group (3 people) also found a place inside, the area outside filled up and was served with cards and drinks, the table for 3 There were already drinks on the table, we decided to go at 6:20 p.m., it's a shame I was looking forward to eating (birthday) but they didn't want our money. After conversations with friends, it became apparent that this was not an isolated case.

Always very busy, cheap lunch during the week

We were there yesterday for my wedding anniversary and I have to say it was one of the most beautiful restaurants we had the pleasure of getting to know! The food was so delicious and the service was so nice and caring! Everyone was very nice and warm! I am thrilled and will visit this great restaurant again and again!

We were very disappointed with the service. The waiter was unhelpful and anything but professional. We only asked for two small bowls to divide soup for four children. He then turned around in annoyance and made an annoyed gesture. Such rude behavior is completely unacceptable in a family friendly establishment

Very nice people and authentic food you feel like you are in Portugal. The Picanha (Tafelspitz) was almost better than my favorite restaurant in Nelas Portugal. Super Muito obrigado pela ótima comida

I decided against having my birthday party here and went to Club Portuguese instead because they charge €2.50 per person if you bring cake. What a disgrace. Let me bring my cake, bro. As if we were really going to get dessert then. Just scared away 9 people (so probably €300).

Everything is just right here, great atmosphere, delicious food and, above all, absolutely attentive and friendly staff. We would be happy to come back, we felt very comfortable and also had the impression that all the other guests were very satisfied. The price-performance ratio is also right.

We had a cozy couple's evening. The restaurant is a bit reminiscent of a museum, there are curiosities hanging around everywhere. The tables and chairs are rather rustic, matching the ambience. We were warmly welcomed and served nicely. The food was tasty and plentiful, good value for money. Special requests were easily possible when making the selection. There is also a good wine list, with something for every taste. We'd love to come back!

We ate very well. The service could be a little more attentive, but it was also very busy. Overall, the restaurant is decorated in a very rustic way - there are 1,000s of knick-knacks everywhere and if you didn't know any better, it could be in a 200-year-old house.

Seit vielen Jahren besuchen wir regelmäßig - fast monatlich - das Frango Portugues. Jedes mal erwarten uns sehr freundliche Kellner und ein tolles Ambiente in diesen portugiesisch dekorierten Räumlichkeiten. Wir essen sowohl Fisch als auch Fleisch und Vegetarisches, so dass wir inzwischen fast jedes Menü der Karte ausprobiert haben - einschließlich der Dessertkarte. Beim Dessert sind leider nur 2 Nachspeisen wirklich Hausgemacht, aber dennoch schmecken sie alle. Die Hauptspeisen wurden immer pünktlich serviert, waren heiß und sehr sehr lecker. Zum Glück auch nicht so übersalzen wie in anderen Restaurants. Ich bin ein großer Fan des Frango Portugues und kann dieses Restaurant nur empfehlen. (P.S. auch Hund darf mit und bekommt vom Kellner Wassernapf)

Great location, lots of little details to look at. Staff friendly and attentive. Eating varied. Audience very mixed. You can park in the adjacent parking garage. But you can only pay there by card.

Unfortunately, another restaurant that couldn't convince with vegetarian options. Completely tasteless, dry rice with no sauce and a bit of vegetables, absolutely poor price/performance ratio.

We had a birthday party and brought the cake as is always done in Portugal. They came to the table and said that I had not asked for permission and that they would have to charge me a 30 euro fee. Okay, the 30 euro was paid, but it was not included in the bill. The staff in general were super friendly, but the manager was a bit unpleasant.

I can recommend the restaurant, the food tasted excellent. I had tuna cooked with peppers, leaf spinach and rosemary potatoes. The tuna was perfectly cooked and still juicy and tender. The pannacotta with mountain cheese, raspberry sauce and cream sounds rustic but tasted very fine. The raspberry sauce wasn't just powdered sugar and strained raspberries. It was something special. The staff was as you would expect. The cozy, well-attended location is beautiful with high ceilings and large rooms. The only disadvantage is that the noise level was a bit high. That won't stop me from coming again.

Both of those involved enjoyed it very much, with a really nice atmosphere. The overall relatively loud noise level didn't bother us.

Unfortunately, the restaurant offers little choice for vegetarians. The meat dishes are very sumptuous. The baguette with aioli is highly recommended! The restaurant is very friendly and colorfully furnished and there is plenty of room for groups. Even when there are a lot of guests, orders come to the table quickly. You can park in the Schwanenhöfe car park.

The food was very good (starter, main course and dessert) and I think the prices were very fair (value for money). The service staff was very friendly, but could be a little better organized. A successful evening with fantastic food

Wir waren mit 10 Personen zur Weihnachtsfeier dort. Der Service war, obwohl der Laden komplett voll war, schnell und sehr freundlich. Das Essen war wie immer köstlich, wir hatten alles von Steak bis Fisch und jeder war zufrieden. Die Einrichtung ist sehr schön, Preis-Leistung passt absolut. ich bin gerne dort, ob mit Freunden oder geschäftlich, sehr zu empfehlen!

I like to go to Frango portuguese more often. The food is really good, I've never had anything on my plate that wasn't tasty, and it's clearly noticeable that the products are of very good quality. The prices are absolutely reasonable and the staff is always very nice, friendly and accommodating. The only drawback: when it's full, which is almost always, it's very loud.

We would have liked to give more stars 🌟! Starting with the very friendly table reservation by phone, the really nice reception at the door on New Year's Eve. We felt WELCOME. Here they know how to make the guest happy. Great service, which never seemed stressed, delicious food at really fair prices. The dessert was a culinary delight 😍 We felt very comfortable. At 12:00 a.m. we were surprised by a gigantic fireworks display. Each guest was treated to a glass of sparkling wine. The ambience is great both outside and inside, the music with a DJ and a dance floor rounded off the evening. Ergo: Great concept that was professionally implemented. Here the guest is not king, but emperor ❣️

Bad service. Lots of service staff who don't respond, don't see themselves as responsible for the table and take the orders half-heartedly. Food with high quality ingredients, not well executed. The cod was burnt and unseasoned. The starter, gratinated cheese, arranged unimaginatively on a plate and warmed in the microwave. Sorry, in my opinion performance and price don't match here.

My husband and I went to celebrate our wedding anniversary at this wonderful restaurant. The atmosphere is very welcoming and pleasant, the food is very good, but what really won my heart was the rice and beans. Can't wait to go back again.

Very lovingly decorated and great atmosphere - but also very loud. (Which drowned out Schalger?! as background music.) The selection of meat and fish dishes is large, everything looked very good, our friends were without exception satisfied or enthusiastic. Unfortunately, the vegetarian selection lags a bit behind - 3 main courses. We had the vegetarian plate consisting of potatoes, spinach, cabbage, rice and some salad. A little disappointing in terms of taste and appearance - at least in comparison with the conventional ones. Maybe the vegetable skewers or the vegetables in puff pastry would have been the better choice. The service was excellent - very quick and friendly despite obviously being full.

The environment and food were nice. I went upon an invitation so I don't know the prices. First came a mixed charcuterie plate and then a mixed grill plate. I've tasted most of them. It was all very beautiful. There wasn't anything I didn't like about the taste. Restaurant like an oasis in Düsseldorf :)

The food and ambience are really good, but the waiters don't have a plan. Empty glasses are ignored, and it never occurs to you to ask if you would like to drink something else if you don't make yourself known after a while. The tuna was too dry (although I have the feeling that it was frozen) and the pork fillet was both very tasty. The prawns, on the other hand, were incredibly tasty. The desserts were also delicious. However, since there were more than 10 of us, it could be that the fillet and the tuna were too dry, which is why everything came to the table on point and may therefore have taken longer

I was surprised with a lot of delicious food. This seafood rice was the most delicious dish we ate there, and the cod was really good! The other friends ordered picanha... All dishes very well served!!!!! When I return to Germany and am in the city, I will certainly go back there!

It was a very nice evening, the restaurant was quite full, but we still got a table at short notice, even though we had only requested by phone two hours in advance. The food was very rich and aesthetically prepared.
