Food was really good. Service could be a bit more on the ball. Had to get the waiter to come to us every time we wanted to order new drinks. Atmosphere is good, but a little more privacy for booths would be nice. But again, food is really good and on point, and can’t argue with the prices either.

We ate grilled salmon and sea bream. The salmon was well fried but completely tasteless. Probably poor quality fish?! Unfortunately, the side dish in the form of rosemary potatoes wasn't any better. The potatoes were too dark and limp. It was the same with the side dish of my sea bream. The vegetables ate out of the bag as if they had thawed. Limp. The sea bream was grilled too dark. The waitresses were very friendly, but we were never asked for more drinks. The tiramisu was ok. Unfortunately the cream was from the spray can. We probably won't come back. The food was basically too bad in all respects.

This was my fifth visit to this restaurant. I am even more shocked by the poor quality of service on my last visit. A male waiter only noticed that a dish was missing when the other main courses were almost completely consumed. The wine service was also disappointing: it took half an hour to bring the second bottle, and then it was the wrong kind. Without asking, the waiter opened the bottle and poured us the wrong wine. Added to this was his aggressive nature, constantly placing glasses and bottles on the table with a loud bang, as if he wanted to take out his anger on the guests. In contrast, a female server was very patient and served us with care, handing us the plates and glasses in a calm and professional tone. This goes far beyond the cliché that you shouldn't have high expectations of service in German restaurants - basic tasks simply weren't fulfilled here.

The food, the service is friendly/attentive and the ambience is quite good and cozy. What wasn't so successful was the waiting time for the food (seafood rice pre-ordered with a reservation for 6:30 p.m. arrived at around 7:40 p.m., there were probably a total of 7 orders that evening). We were there around 6:15 p.m. and ordered a fish plate. While other guests who came after us had already had their starters and main courses, we were still waiting for our ordered dishes. We were kindly given more bread with cheese/ham as a gesture of goodwill for the waiting time. Unfortunately, the prices on our own website and Google are both out of date. The seafood rice costs 54.90 instead of 49.90 and the fish plate also costs 26.90 euros instead of 25.90 euros, so we got a bill for 103 euros instead of the expected 88.80 euros. In addition to the price increases that we were not aware of, there were probably EUR 6.90 charged for aioli bread with olives and possibly EUR 2-3 for takeaway). To be honest, I didn't expect anything to be charged for the aioli bread. When we were asked in advance whether we wanted bread, I assumed that it was purely polite and would only be brought if you really wanted it before the food you ordered. At least it's not uncommon at other restaurants for you to get this before the food you order. The fact that we couldn't finish our main course, the seafood rice, and had to do the takeaway was because we ate so much bread. With the first aioli bread, I warned my two companions not to eat too much so that we wouldn't be able to finish the dishes we ordered. But after a good 1.5 hour wait since our arrival, everyone was so hungry that we ate a lot of the second bread. At that moment it was also very tasty with the ham and cheese 😉. The prices should probably be updated soon. I hope that feedback is received constructively here. Otherwise we had a pleasant stay.

Due to the behavior of the waiters and the fact that you didn't really feel welcome, I decided not to return my food. Unfortunately, it's basically neither nicely presented nor tastes so good that you could say it's worth visiting again. Unfortunately, thoroughly disappointing and far from worth the asking price! The only positive thing to mention is the waiter who collected our money. He was friendly and accommodating.

The food is incredibly tasty and you get large portions for the very moderate prices. Anyone who doesn't get full is a "never-satisfied person" 😊. The menu is filled with many delicacies, so you have to visit often so as not to miss anything. The staff is super friendly and very keen to fulfill all your wishes. It's really great that on birthdays the staff sings and congratulates with a small kitchen and the ringing of a cowbell. Overall, this restaurant is highly recommended because the ambience, service, food and prices are right. We will come back and are looking forward to the delicious food.

In the commercial area on Erkrather Straße, almost opposite Kiefernstraße. Shrimp starter was very good. The bread with the olives beforehand was also good. However, I had sole, prawns and squid on a skewer. Unfortunately that was quite a disappointment. The shrimp alone in direct comparison with the starter, no chance! The spit was killed again. Completely... No freshness, extremely dry and the shrimp could bend. Main course 1 star.

I reserved a table for myself and my parents based on a recommendation, but unfortunately I can't understand the positive reviews. We sat inside and the ambience is really pleasant. Our drinks were quickly taken and arrived quickly. My mother noticed that the appetizer plates were greasy and greasy. I wasn't planning on eating meat/fish, but unfortunately it's rather difficult here. I asked about the “vegetarian plate” and the waiter said it had “spinach, rice, salad and potatoes”…..somehow not very creative. I then ordered the goat cheese with bacon and honey (€7.90) and a vegetarian dumpling (€2.50), my mother ordered the small starter plate (€19.90) and my father ordered the Iberian ribs (€17.90). .My father's meat was ok, rock-hard fries and a bit of salad (+ ketchup and mayo from the bag). The starter plate consisted mainly of sliced ​​sausage, tasteless cheese, croquettes and dry tuna salad with chickpeas. Wilted lettuce in the middle and 2 cold prawns for €19.90!!! My dumpling was lying on wilted lettuce and even after we mentioned the wilted lettuce, the waiter just looked embarrassed but didn't offer anything as compensation. My father ate up, but more out of hunger than pleasure. The only tasty things were the olives, the bread and the aioli (€6.90), which is somewhat excessive for the price. I had hardly eaten anything, but I quickly lost my appetite. In total we paid €73 which is absolutely too much for the quality. Unfortunately I cannot make a recommendation. Our first and last visit to Frango.

Service: Waited 15-20 minutes for the drinks, the service seemed rather listless, whatever was going on. Food: You probably won't be allowed to order meat dishes. The meat was ok, but the quality was too poor for the price. The "chips" are only frozen, not freshly carved from potatoes, which is really no effort. Very disappointing for a dish that costs almost €27. Price-performance doesn't fit here at all. The shop is probably only worth it for seafood. I probably won't find out, it's not a restaurant I'll go to a second time.
