Franco's Holzofenpizza in Prien a.Chiemsee

We go there at least once a month, and the food is always delicious, whether it's pizza, fish, or one of the delicious desserts. The staff is always very polite, too.

They'd rather see you leave than come. Children aren't welcome and, according to them, they get in the way. The stroller has to be left on the street because walking around it is too much to ask. We downed our drinks and never returned. The steakhouse next door is a better choice.

We waited a long time to be served, and the waiter responded rudely to our questions. We didn't get the value for money. The pizza was thin, sloppy, and soggy. The topping on the verdura was almost raw and unseasoned. The positive aspect was the beautiful view of the lake.

Es hat länger gedauert bis 4 verschiedene Kellner an uns vorbeigingen und wir dann nach gefühlt 15 Minuten doch noch gefragt wurden ob wir schon bestellt haben. Wir entschieden uns für Affogato und Apfelstrudel. Eine Servicekraft wollte uns zuerst Cappuccino servieren eine andere brachte dann die bestellten Affogato. Dann wollte man uns Eiscafé servieren während wir auf den Apfelstrudel warteten und warteten und warteten. Natürlich war war die Vanillesoße kalt die auch keine originale Vanillesoße war. Preislich völlig überzogen. Wie gesagt ja es ist direkt am Chiemsee. Man hat es hier wohl nur mit Tagesgästen zu tun. Vor ein paar Jahren hat man gesehen wie schnell es geht und keine Tagesgäste mehr kommen. Die Wartezeit ist ärgerlich manche italienische Kellner sind sehr reserviert.

€14.40 for a good-quality pizza in Prien am Chiemsee, right on the shore, is 100% okay. Four stars because the schnitzel tastes like old frying oil. The manager here should change more often.

Not exactly cheap, but friendly service and good quality. We had the two sausage salads (Bavarian, Swiss) and the affogato to finish. We'll be back next time we're at Chiemsee 😁

"We're in Germany" - racist waiter, lousy service: never again! We had spent the day at the lake and just wanted a quick pizza. After sitting down, we waited for our friend, who was in the bathroom. The waiter came over to us several times and asked what we'd like to drink – each time we politely explained, "Sorry, we haven't decided yet." But he seemed increasingly annoyed and made a face as if we were bothering him. Nevertheless, we ordered – a pizza that could only be described as average, neither particularly tasty nor fresh, more like a frozen pizza. At least: the portion was large. But that was it. We had to wait over 30 minutes for our food, which was completely unjustified given the quality. The service was disrespectful and arrogant. The waiter had an unpleasant, condescending manner. We didn't feel welcome, but more like annoying guests. Then came the worst moment: When we paid, we deliberately didn't want to leave a tip because the service was simply poor. We made that clear. But the waiter insisted that the machine didn't allow tips below 5% – which is a lie. Our friend had actually been able to leave a tip without any problems. When we protested, he became even more rude and said, "We're in Germany, not any other country." A racist, completely unacceptable remark. When we replied that waiters in Germany are usually polite, he was visibly annoyed. Mediocre food, a long wait, a condescending and dishonest waiter, and the feeling of being unwanted. It was almost a form of discrimination. I absolutely cannot recommend this place.

The service is really good, friendly, and fast. It's a huge restaurant, after all, and things have to move quickly due to the masses of day-trippers. The food, however, is of good quality.

For me: Very, very, very bad food. The tablecloth is swept with a shabby hand broom, the menu features dishes that, upon request, have been out for weeks, and instead of scampi, you get shrimp. A complete disaster.

The coffee was okay. But nothing more. At over €5, it was overpriced, but you're paying for the beautiful location. The service—meh—by the time the cake arrived, the coffee was only lukewarm. But that wasn't the real problem. The cake (apple cake with crumble, also over €5) tasted strange. Even though I didn't eat it all, I still feel nauseous hours later. I should have complained, but that was too much for me today.

The food was amazing, and the price was great too. I definitely recommend it. I'm looking forward to the next date. 😉

The waiters were very friendly, but you do need to be patient when paying. Beautiful panorama and a pleasant atmosphere. Excellent food. It's worth a visit. I'd go back anytime.

On the bike tour around Lake Chiemsee you can easily pass it if you head towards the lake in Prien. The prices are rather high at first glance. But if you then look at the portion size and consider that you are at Lake Chiemsee, then they are again understandable/justifiable. The service was very friendly and helpful, even though we received the wrong side dishes and drinks. But the waiter immediately apologized because it was only his second day. Food was very good and really a lot. We had the suckling pig, a Kaiserschmarrn and salad.

The price and quality don't match. The pizza was burnt, the Coke was still sparkling. A waste of money. The restaurant is beautifully situated by the lake, and the service was decent. I wouldn't sit there again. 🙂

Friendly staff. The quality of the food we ordered was good. The price was also reasonable. The location directly on Lake Chiemsee is ideal. The boat rental is in the immediate vicinity. Passenger shipping is also nearby. Overall, the restaurant can be recommended.

Our bike tour took us past this restaurant for the second time, and we treated ourselves to a coffee and cake break. It wasn't very busy for Chiemsee standards, so we were able to enjoy our stop with a direct view of the lake. The waiter was friendly and quick, with no rush or long wait times. The coffee and cake were very good, and the value for money was absolutely acceptable for Chiemsee.

The service: Attentive, we were never left stranded and we didn't starve either. Price: not exactly cheap, but reasonable. Price-performance is right. Update March 2025 The food comes much quicker, tastes better and the staff is more polite. A significant upgrade of the restaurant Summer 2024 Unfortunately, each visit becomes more disappointing!! Bad service, annoyed staff. Food takes a long time, you wait half an hour to order. Unfortunately now only 1 star! There is no Quattro Formaggi pizza! A good Italian would offer this and used to do so. Not anymore. Very unfortunate

Mein Besuch beim Schiller Chiemsee Café war rundum perfekt. Das Ambiente ist einladend, die Speisen von höchster Qualität, und der Service sucht seinesgleichen. Ein besonderer Dank geht an Marco, unseren Kellner, der uns mit außergewöhnlicher Freundlichkeit und Professionalität betreut hat. Seine aufmerksame, aber unaufdringliche Art machte den Abend besonders angenehm. Die Gerichte waren nicht nur geschmacklich herausragend, sondern auch wunderschön angerichtet. Ein Genuss, und die Empfehlungen des Hauses haben uns begeistert. Ein Restaurant, das ich ohne Einschränkung weiterempfehlen kann – hier stimmt einfach alles! Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Breakfast with eight people, daughter's birthday. Table was reserved the day before in the family name. On Saturday morning, none of the service staff knew about it. Breakfast was plentiful and good, only the orange juice tasted of nothing and was watery. The gentleman who served us was super friendly. The view of Lake Chiemsee was, of course, fantastic. We live nearby and will come again, hopefully the orange juice will be of good quality...👍

The baked pumpkin with a wonderfully spicy sauce was a real treat – flavorful, well-seasoned, and perfectly prepared. Plus, the quick and friendly service creates a pleasant atmosphere. Whether it's breakfast or dinner, you won't be disappointed here. If you're traveling on Lake Chiemsee, you shouldn't miss a stop at Franko's. A definite recommendation!

The food is no better than average. Portions are too small. Prices are unrealistic for the service provided. Service is too cool and a bit pretentious. The ambiance is nice, but it seems to be the only thing you're paying for.

Tonight we had 2 delicious pizzas here. Huge, super tasty base and crust and richly topped. Enjoyed!

Im Gegensatz zu anderen die vor uns Erfahrungen gesammelt haben können wir nur positiv berichten. Marko als Kellner war in seiner Art höchst freundlich und witzig. Das Lokal war innen und aussen bei 10 Grad Sonne nicht gerade leer. Trotzdem war der Umgang mit seinen Gästen sehr professionell. Die Speisen waren gut angerichtet und zubereitet. Wer in dieser Lage direkt am See mit tollem Blick in die Berge billige Preise erhoft wird sicher entäuscht. Die Preise sind für die Lage und den Blick angemessen. Aperol 7,90 ist für die Gegend und Lage völlig ok. Unsereseits alles gut und wir waren überrascht zufrieden👍👍

Es ist mir ein dringendes Anliegen, vor diesem Restaurant zu warnen, da mein Besuch dort in jeder Hinsicht eine Zumutung war. Als erfahrener Gast und Genießer, der sich stets gerne durch eine Karte probiert, habe ich hohe Ansprüche an Service, Atmosphäre und Qualität – und dieses Lokal hat in sämtlichen Belangen kläglich versagt. Bereits beim Betreten des Restaurants war die Stimmung frostig. Es gab keinerlei Begrüßung, geschweige denn das Gefühl, willkommen zu sein. Stattdessen wurde ich mit offensichtlicher Gleichgültigkeit wie ein unbedeutendes Etwas an meinen Tisch „zugewiesen“. Eine solche Behandlung ist nicht nur unangemessen, sondern beleidigend. Das Besteck, das mir gereicht wurde, war von solch minderer Qualität, dass ich mich unweigerlich an eine einfache Kioskbude erinnert fühlte – ein erschütternder Kontrast zu den horrenden Preisen, die für die Speisen verlangt werden. Es zeugt von einer grundlegenden Respektlosigkeit, den Gästen solch billige Utensilien zuzumuten, während man gleichzeitig hohe Ansprüche suggeriert. Den Tiefpunkt meines Besuchs bildete jedoch ein Kellner mit dem Schriftzug „Jonny“ auf der Brust. Sein Verhalten war von einer Arroganz und Unhöflichkeit, die ihresgleichen sucht. Jegliche Interaktion mit ihm war geprägt von Desinteresse und einer unerträglichen Überheblichkeit. Anstatt uns mit der gebotenen Höflichkeit zu bedienen, warf er uns Rückgeld auf den Tisch, als seien wir lästige Störenfriede. Den Kassenzettel knüllte er zusammen und warf ihn wortlos vor uns – eine Geste, die nichts anderes als Verachtung ausdrückte. Sein Verhalten erinnerte weniger an einen professionellen Servicekraft als an ein trotziges Kind, das sich weigert, seine Arbeit ernst zu nehmen. Es fällt mir schwer, in Worte zu fassen, wie enttäuschend und demütigend dieser Besuch war. Von mangelnder Hygiene über die miserable Ausstattung bis hin zu einem Service, der jegliches Maß an Professionalität vermissen ließ, war dieses Restaurant eine einzige Katastrophe. Für einen Betrieb, der sich offensichtlich überhöhte Preise anmaßt, ist dieses Niveau nicht nur inakzeptabel, sondern eine Frechheit. Ich rate mit Nachdruck davon ab, dieses Lokal zu besuchen, wenn Sie nicht Gefahr laufen möchten, derart respektlos behandelt zu werden. Music was very loud, frozen cakes, a breeze in the back corner and we were completely left behind while we were cashing in. A lot of money for 0% service. Unfortunately there are no 0 stars...

Sehr unfreundlich! Endlose Wartezeit, Gäste werden als Störenfriede empfunden und behandelt. Zunächst mussten wir mehrmals verschiedene Bedienungen ansprechen, bevor sich jemand herabließ, die Bestellung aufzunehmen. Davon sensibilisiert fragten wir, wie lange die Gerichte brauchen würden, und ernteten nur genervt verdrehte Augen. Das war zu Beginn der Mittagszeit und es waren nur wenige Tische belegt. Die Pizza kam dann schnell und schmeckte ordentlich, nur deshalb 2 Sterne statt einem... Auf das außerdem Bestellung Spanferkel mussten wir über 1h Stunde warten. Es wurde erst geliefert, als ich es nach mehreren kommentarlosen Nachfragen bei zwei Bedienungen abbestellt, stattdessen den inzwischen erkalteten Pizzarest meiner Begleitung gegessen hatte. Als ich zum 3. Mal erklärte, dass ich es bereits abbestellt hatte, wurde ich erneut pampig angeredet....

Nice atmosphere right on Lake Chiemsee. Unfortunately, the food was nothing more than mediocre. The pizza was served quite quickly, but the other dishes unfortunately arrived much later, making it impossible to eat together, which we found unpleasant. The other dishes were only lukewarm. The pizza, for €18 (!!), was also only mediocre. The staff tried hard. The prices were far too high for what you get. It's a shame, as it should have been a nice end to the day.

Very nice ambiance right on the lake, nice location, quiet atmosphere, very friendly and attentive service, the pizzas are huge...but let's be honest: a glass of Primitivo costs 11 euros. Hey guys, a really good bottle of Primitivo costs 7.50 to 10 euros, so you can't charge 11 euros for a 0.50 glass.

A pizza and something else was ordered. The pizza came about 15 minutes before the other one came. So unfortunately my partner had to watch me eat or I had to eat a cold pizza. I found the price far too high and not justified for the quality of the food. The only thing that was really good was the view of the lake and the park. Nothing else. That's definitely better.

An absolute disgrace! We waited over an hour for our order. After we finally received the food, my fish was completely burnt and as dry as the sole of a shoe. The people I was in the restaurant with were just as unenthusiastic as I was. For just under €40 for 2 colas and the fish described, the price-performance ratio was really lousy. Small plus point: The service tried hard and I received a hot chocolate as an apology. We still wouldn't come again.

Ich hatte (teure) Kaffeekapseln gekauft und musste nun feststellen, dass diese fehlerhaft und nicht brauchbar waren. Nach telefonischer Reklamation und der Zusage, sie würden sich kümmern, schickte ich eine E-Mail und Fotos. Nachdem ich eine Woche nichts gehört hatte, rief ich erneut an und bekam die Mitteilung, der Chef hätte viel zu tun, aber sie würden es weiterleiten. Wieder eine Woche vergangen, nichts gehört. Service sieht anders aus.

Nettes Lokal in sehr schöner Lage. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Unser gewähltes Essen hat uns gut geschmeckt.

Quite a nice restaurant that is a bit confusing due to 3 different appearances on Google Maps. Personally, the music was a bit too loud for us. You had a view of the lake from almost every seat. The staff seemed quite busy and were not very friendly, but not unfriendly either. One exception was the very nice employee who brought us the food. We all liked the food quite averagely and we would have given the food a grade of 3-4 (also considering the high price). Conclusion: If you really want to eat with a lake view you can go here, otherwise I personally find it too expensive for the service and quality. PS: What I don't find understandable at all is that the vegan cheese alternative on the pizza is €2-3 more expensive than the non-vegan version. Because you have the same effort and vegan cheese alternatives cost minimally more wholesale, it doesn't make sense. To me it seems (as so often) that people are trying to make extra money from vegans "because they pay for it".

I asked for penne pasta, but for that kind of money, I'll reduce the portion, but it was very delicious! Pizza is also good, nice and big.

Very nice restaurant with a large selection of dishes and drinks. Here you can dine wonderfully indoors and outdoors (large outdoor area = beer garden) directly on Lake Chiemsee. Definitely recommended

Nice restaurant right on the promenade. We took a nice place in the shade when it was 30 degrees. Radler plus a Mezzo Mix was recorded by the waitress. Afterwards we ordered a Kaiserschmarn. After 15 minutes the Kaiserschmarn came but the drinks still didn't come, the answer was that we had to put in a new barrel. After 30 minutes I got up and went to the counter and wanted to ask again where our drinks were. Since my tone was cheeky, my order was re-recorded. The waitress then came to the table and apologized because the device wasn't working. We sat centrally. The service wasn't attentive. Once and never again.

Have been here several times. It's just nice to stop off right on Lake Chiemsee and eat together with family or friends and enjoy the view. In my opinion the prices are really reasonable. The food is very good. The service is just that. Recently we received very good service, which is why we now have full stars for it. We'll definitely come back 😜

Schade, dass es keine Minussterne gibt. Heute morgen gab es auf dem Spielplatz ca. 10 Meter vor dem Café einen medizinischen Notfall. Eine junge Person, die wir kurz zuvor nich schaukeln gesehen haben, lag auf einmal bewusstlos am Boden. Nachdem zunächst ein anderes Paar beim spazieren darauf aufmerksam wurde und anschließend wir, lief der Mann zum Café und bat die Bedienung darum den Rettungsdienst anzurufen während ich bei der Person blieb um Atmung und Puls zu überprüfen. Die Antwort der Bedienung: „Für sowas habe ich keine Zeit.“ Ein Gast hat daraufhin sein Handy zur Verfügung gestellt. Eine weitere nette Dame, kam mit einem Sonnenschirm und hielt ihn als Regenschutz über die Bewusstlose. Die Betreiber des Cafés hat dies alles wenig gemacht interessiert. Nachdem der Rettungsdienst da war und die Situation Gott sei Dank gut ausging, setzten wir uns auf die Außenterasse der „Kaffeerösterei“ um eine heiße Schokolade und einen Kaffee zu trinken. Wir warteten gute 10 Minuten ohne jegliche Beachtung. Dann rief eine Bedienung aus dem Innenraum in der Tür stehend: „Wollt ihr frühstücken?“ (keine Begrüßung). Nachdem wir dies verneinten und ihr mitteilten, dass wir lediglich was trinken möchten, blickte sie uns verwundert an und verschwand wieder. Wir warteten noch ca. 5 Minuten. Da uns niemand bedienen wollte gingen wir wieder. Fazit: Unfreundlich, unmenschlich, absolut nicht zuvorkommend, aber Preise wie in einem Drei-Sterne-Restaurant.

I had pizza and a side salad, unfortunately the food didn't come to the table at the same time because it comes from different cuisines, oh well. Pizza had a stable taste, the dough was a bit too thin but there was little topping. The side salad is okay, a little little dressing. My wife had a plum cake, which was okay too. The cappuccino is a dream, very good taste and a nice foam

One of the worst pizzas I've ever eaten. Greasy, thin, the bottom isn't cooked through properly; burned at the edge for this. For 15 euros I would have expected something better.
