Excellent service, delicious goose, and a pleasant evening. Highly recommended.

The inn is cozy and the beer garden is inviting. The kitchen works quickly. I recommend the specials, for example, schnitzel on Wednesdays. Otherwise, the prices are quite high. The service yesterday was very efficient, starting off briskly but becoming impersonal and uninspired at the end. Unfortunately, the waiter seemed to lose sight of the dining area. The food is simple and straightforward, but the presentation on the plate is somewhat basic and lacks visual appeal.

I'm very sad; it's such a lovely place that's closing its doors at the end of the year. I hope the service staff will follow suit, as they are a big part of a good restaurant.

The ambiance is lovely, like an old forester's lodge. One waitress was nice, the other unfortunately not at all. She led us to our table without a word; we didn't know whether to follow her or not. We had a reservation and checked in at the entrance. The woman turned around without a word and walked off. Even when serving and clearing the table, not a word, not a smile, nothing. We wanted a bottle of water, but they didn't have any. Sparkling mineral water was only available in a carafe. Is that from a SodaStream? The food arrived very quickly on extremely hot plates. I had calf's liver. Is that just reheated in the microwave? It didn't taste particularly good either. I really expected more and won't be going there again.

Very nice atmosphere, friendly and funny staff. The food was beautifully presented and very tasty. I had pork knuckle with a crispy crackling. I can highly recommend it. We'll gladly come back again.

The Forsthaus has a lovely beer garden, which in the summer would be the only reason for me to visit this establishment at all. Yesterday, due to the time of year, we had to eat indoors. A waiter (who some might consider extremely friendly) greeted us, but he had a rather pedantic, supposedly friendly, and loud manner. From this initial contact, you don't feel like a welcome guest, but rather like someone who is now receiving instructions and wants to know exactly where you're sitting, not ask a few unnecessary questions. You can see the bar directly from the entrance. Since we weren't sure whether we should wait at the door or could go into the dining room, we asked the woman behind the bar. She had been wearing an incredibly grim expression all evening and at that moment only gave curt answers. The bar is visible right from the entrance. My gut feeling told me right then and there that we should just turn around and find another restaurant. Why spend money in that kind of atmosphere? Unfortunately, we decided to stay. The more crowded the dining room became, the more often we couldn't get any peace from this annoying waiter. He addressed every guest (regardless of age) informally and spoke in a way that made it seem like he was in charge and the guest simply had to submit. It was certainly good that he was constantly making his rounds, but not that you could hear him everywhere, in such a nasty manner and at such a high volume, because it made a relaxing restaurant experience completely impossible. As soon as the food arrived at the table, he came up a short time later and checked with the stupid words, "So? Delicious?!" to see if everything was alright. In my case, I had supposedly fresh pasta with strips of chicken breast and some vegetables, which included broccoli. The broccoli was overcooked to mush, the florets completely gone, and the meat was over-seasoned, with a strange consistency I'd only ever experienced with ready-made meals that you just throw in a pan. Unfortunately, when the waiter asked me, "So? Delicious?!", I just nodded. I simply didn't want to engage with him any further. In fact, his constant questioning of the guests, his loud taking of orders, and his constant, sometimes patronizing, remarks were so disruptive that I just wanted to get it over with and leave. When my plate was finally cleared, I left the broccoli on it and simply pointed out that it was completely mushy and unrecognizable. This only elicited a curt reply: "I'll tell the kitchen." No apology whatsoever. All in all, I have to say that certain dishes (like some of the schnitzel dishes at the time) are definitely more palatable, but unfortunately, my meal was absolute garbage. On average, you pay around €20 for a meal, and for some, almost €25, which I definitely don't think is justified given the quality. In short, NEVER again!

Even when I reserved a table, I experienced the humorous welcome I received at the Forsthaus. The first impression was only topped by the fantastic food we received. I can't agree with the previous reviewers' criticism at all! Well-seasoned, nicely presented, and fresh. My only criticism is the hall-like feel of the room, which lacks privacy, but hey, everything else—service, decor, quality of food, and drinks—is highly recommended!

A great beer garden with a playground, fire pit, and plenty of shade. Tables have numbers, so you reserve your spot and clear your table. Wednesday is schnitzel day. 🤗

It was nice there, and I had a delicious Forsti. It would have earned a fifth star if the restrooms had been functioning.

The Forsthaus Raschwitz is truly worth a visit. For dinner, we had the Leber Berliner-style (liver Berlin style) and, for me, the Schnitzel Au Four. Both were truly excellent, very well seasoned, with good side dishes, and simply delicious. We also had a Zwickl Kellerbier (cellar beer), highly recommended. After that, an espresso, and lunch was perfect. The service was very attentive and friendly, just what you want as a guest, so that's a huge compliment ;) The restrooms are wheelchair accessible, which I immediately noticed, fantastic. All in all, I really can't recommend it highly enough.

On a scale of 0 to 10, a zero is too high. Be careful! The schnitzel is frozen, the chanterelles are completely over-softened and over-seasoned with pepper, and the chanterelles aren't fresh either. The spaetzle is a ready-made product from Metro and is weak. The fillet tips were briefly soaked in water and dried out. The only positive thing I can say is the friendly staff. The rice pudding from the children's menu wasn't homemade either.

The weather was quite chilly, so we were practically alone in the beer garden. Unfortunately, the beer tasted like manure; it must have gone bad. But you have to try it before it's served! The food was unfortunately very overcooked, a shame about the pig that had to die for it. The tarte flambée was also already cold. In the end, they even charged me for the expensive beer; that saved me the tip. A real shame for such a great place!

We've enjoyed going to the Forsthaus for years. The service is excellent, the food is high-quality and delicious. One of our favorite restaurants in Leipzig. In the summer, there's a lovely beer garden that's not too crowded.

The food was very delicious. Unfortunately, the service was a bit overambitious and counted down each guest's time to make their decision faster. It was meant to be funny, but not everyone liked it and it felt uncomfortable. Nevertheless, overall, it's always a recommendation!

Die Begrüßung fiel kühl aus, getreu dem Motto Hilfe Kundschaft. Was traut sich ein Gast ohne Reservierung um 18 Uhr überhaupt nach einem Tisch zu fragen. Wir hatten 2 Kindergerichte und 2 normale Gerichte. Die Kinderfischstäbchen hätte ich mit meiner Ninja besser hinbekommen. Die Erbsen waren in einer undefinierbaren weißen Soße . Die Petersilienkartoffeln haben nach nichts geschmeckt und auch keine Petersilie gesehen. Das Schnitzel war auch nicht gut. Überbacken mit billigem Käse. Preis für das Essen ok, aber keine gute Qualität. Getränke sehr teuer. 8,50 Euro für eine Flasche Wasser bei dem Niveau, nicht zu empfehlen.

A visit to the Forsthaus Raschwitz beer garden is highly recommended. You can sit comfortably in the green surroundings and enjoy delicious food. You can save money every Wednesday, as the special Schnitzwoch menu is available. Drinks are available directly at the bar in the beer garden, and food is served at your table. Thanks to the proximity to the S-Bahn station, even intoxicated visitors can get home safely.

The ambiance was nice, but the food was mediocre. The vegetable curry and the chicken steak on pasta were good, but the Wiener schnitzel wasn't a highlight, and the Caesar salad was so-so. We didn't receive a bill; they just handed us a tablet with the total bill.

We've been to both the outdoor seating area and the restaurant. Here, you get really good, freshly prepared food. This does mean a wait, but it's worth it. We were in the outdoor seating area in the beer garden on a Sunday, and they have a small selection of beers. The prices are normal, as they are in all beer gardens in Leipzig and the surrounding area. In summary, a nice beer garden under large trees. A more upscale restaurant with great food. It's worth a visit.

We chose the restaurant's terrace rather than the beer garden. The "interested" waiter addressed us informally, but at times his manner was a bit pushy, making private conversation difficult. The food was beautifully presented and delicious—but the regular portions were more like those for a senior citizen. So you definitely have to order an appetizer or dessert.

Auch wir haben eine schlechte Erfahrung gemacht und konnten einen Groupon Gutschein nicht einlösen ,da der Preis nicht sichtbar war. Der Kellner wahrscheinlich Herr Straub,war recht aggresiv, unfreundlich einfach zu duzen, eine unverschãmtheit, roch auch stark nach Alkohol und wirkte sehr ungepflegt. Das Essen war eine große Katastrohe, in der Mikrowelle gewärmtes Essen ( Kalbsschnitzel) , lieblos auf Pommes geklatscht und ein Salat der mit Sicherheit schon Stunden in einer Marinade geschwommen ist ,einfach nur widerlich. Wir waren froh als wir dann gehen konnten, schade der Garten ist sehr schön und es gab auch eine sehr nette junge Kellnerin ,konnte natürlich bei diesen Supermacho nichts ausrichten. Jetzt versuche ich über Groupon mein Geld erstattet zu bekommen,da wir nicht aus Leipzig sind. Man kann sehr gut in Leipzig Essen gehen ,aber dieses Lokal ist nur grauengaft

Unfortunately, I have to change my review. The stars are for the beer garden AND the restaurant. The restaurant interior is still recommended; the ambiance is super nice. The food (interestingly) depends on the day. So we go there every now and then, and sometimes we're very satisfied, sometimes not. A few times, the food arrived lukewarm, almost cold, or the meat didn't taste fresh. Other days, however, it was so delicious that we were extremely satisfied. The beer garden is okay, but unfortunately, the value for money isn't there. When you pay over €4 for a Bionade or €3.50 for a small glass of water, then you have to fetch everything yourself, clear the tables, and make sure that the glasses aren't placed on the dish trolley, but rather in the little hut so the owner doesn't have to run in and out so often... Hmm... You can do that, but then you have to expect that customers won't come back. We are happy to remain customers of the restaurant, but our visit to the beer garden did not convince us.

Wir waren zu viert im Forsthaus am 08.06.2025 eingekehrt. Die Freundlichkeit der Bedienung, das Essen und das Ambiente waren insgesamt sehr gut. Schade war, das unter "Spargelwochen" wir das Gericht "Spargel- Grün-Weiß in Basilikum-Rahmsauce mit Pasta ...." auswählten. Meine Frau und ich erhielten dann jeweils 4 Stücke Spargel je 1,5 cm lang - in Summe nicht mal eine Spargelstange. Das wäre ja in Ordnung, wenn da nicht der Spargel im Vordergrund stände oder eine Gramm-Zahl für den Spargel (ca. 30-40 g) ausgewiesen wäre. In Zukunft werden wir nach der Menge an Spargel auf einer "Spargelkarte" fragen :)

A spontaneously free table was available starting on Whitsun Sunday. Attentive service, a clear menu. The curry was a bit bland, but the dessert was all the better.

Unfortunately, the food wasn't my thing. The vegetables had a bad aftertaste. The meat was good. The espresso was a bit weak. The dessert was okay. The service was attentive. The ambiance was great. Nice decor. The price was reasonable.

Generally speaking, a good restaurant. The friendly service (who immediately addresses you informally) unfortunately doesn't inform customers about various additional costs. If you order potatoes or fries instead of dumplings, it costs €1.50 more per side order. On the plate with the grilled knuckle, you'll find a dollop of mustard... (never enough)... which costs extra! This is how the additional costs add up! The waiter should definitely point out such additional costs. Honestly, it's worth the effort! For this reason, we unfortunately won't be returning here again!

Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed today. Otherwise, it's open from 5:00 PM and from 12:00 PM on weekends!

Actually 4 stars, main course excellent, food very good. Dessert was a disaster. We once ordered Belgian waffles and they came very quickly, almost too quickly. This was noticeable in the Belgian waffle. Dry, hard and well-baked. In our opinion it couldn't be eaten like that. After complaining to the "waiter" he replied with a malicious grin that he had just eaten a Belgian waffle and it was good and walked away. That was the entire reaction. I don't know why they reacted that way; we would have expected an explanation or apology. Perhaps that's the norm there. We're not used to it in Baden-Württemberg.

My visit to Forsthaus Raschwitz was quite satisfactory, although there were a few issues that marred my overall impression. The wait staff who served us our food could definitely have been friendlier. Their demeanor was less than welcoming and didn't contribute to the atmosphere. On the positive side, the food was not only extremely delicious but also served very quickly. However, I found the prices to be exorbitant. What really bothered me, however, were the additional charges imposed on me. I actually had to pay €10 for the tablecloth and €2.50 for the hollandaise sauce I ordered, which is completely unusual in my experience. We won't be returning.

The ambience and food had previously been very positive in our memories. The address if you really want to go out for a fancy meal and experience a special moment. The food was OK. My acquaintance, an 80-year-old lady, and I, 65 years old, so clearly not very young anymore, were called by the waiter right at the beginning, which I found impossible. When I pointed this out to him, he got a little weird and said it would be impersonal. When he greeted us, he greeted us with a strange saying to point out that we were 5 minutes late... We didn't find it very strange. There was a cobweb hanging in the corner of the room opposite me. The next meal together will probably take us somewhere else.

Mahlzeit, Zum Mittagessen Tisch reserviert. Lange Wartezeit, Prosecco nicht mehr vorrätig. Gerichte von der Stange. Der beworbene Skrei im Bierteig eine Unverschämtheit. Labbrig, in keiner Weise knusprig, von der Textur kein Dorsch. Fange jedes Jahr selbst Dorsch in Norwegen. Wir kommen nicht wieder. Es lohnt sich nicht. Danke

We were there twice. In the afternoon to drink an Aperol. Very friendly service, great reception, great ambience. In the evening we have dinner with a larger group. We had a walleye dish. Excellently prepared, very tasty. Great. Unfortunately, the service was completely overwhelmed, which led to some hecticness and dissatisfaction. A simple question was answered with “that’s cheeky”, and the question after 1.5 hours about how long it would take until the food was served was answered with “it will take the cook to finish”. Instructions on how to behave correctly when serving drinks were given in an almost military tone, but our own instructions were not implemented. If you can do that, many guests perceived it as not very service-oriented. It's a shame because that didn't suit the house and the other staff at all.

Heute, am Donnerstag wollten wir unseren Croupon Geschenkgutschein in dem Haus einlösen, was auch bis zur Reservierung gut geklappt hat. Der Kellner wollte gleich zu Anfang am Tisch den Gutschein sehen, und da auf diesen kein Croupon wert drauf stand, wollte er diesen nicht annehmen. Die Kommunikation mit dem Kellner Herrn Straub war mehr als unzufrieden, nicht das er uns dann gleich mit du angesprochen hat, war er gar nicht daran Interessiert das Problem zu lösen und meinte das ist unser Problem. Auf Nachfragen nach dem Geschäftsleiter würde uns mitgeteilt das dieser nicht im Haus ist, aber er gab sich als Stellvertreter von diesen aus, was sich im Nachgang als falsch heraus stellte. Das Ende ist, wir haben das Lokal völlig unzufrieden verlassen ohne das wir den Gutschein einlösen konnte, und werden dieses auch auf keinen Fall weiter empfehlen.

ir wollten heute mit einem bestätigten Groupon dort Essen gehen, schon am Empfang wurden wir durch Herr Straub unglaublich unfreundlich empfangen. Nach dem Gang zum Tisch wollte er als erstes den Groupon haben und sofort hieß es, dass der Gutschein nicht reicht (er muss sich ein Foto machen wo der Preis drauf steht)....dieser stand aber nicht drauf, da es ein Geschenk war.....unglaublich unfreundlich hat dieser schreckliche Mann (Herr Straub) angefangen zu diskutieren und zu Duzen ( das geht garnicht) und nach verlangen des Geschäftsführers hieß es, dass er nicht da ist und er (Herr Straub) sei der stellvertretende Geschäftsführer nach einer weiteren Diskusion mit einer netten Mitarbeiterin haben wir erfahren, dass Herr Straub garnicht der stellvertretene Geschäftsführer ist !!!! DIESER unglaublich unfreundliche Mensch (Herr Straub) hat uns eiskalt ins Gesicht gelogen ohne mit der Wimper zu zucken !!!!! Diesen Menschen (Herr Straub) würde ich ohne Worte entlassen !!!! Mit dieser Aktion hat er sein Chef und das ganze Restaurante in Frage gestellt. Zum Schluss hieß es, solange der Preis nicht auf dem Groupon steht, dürfen wir hier auch nicht essen (obwohl wir alles richtig gemacht haben, haben die ihr Problem zu unserem gemacht) -> NIE wieder geht's in das Restaurant und ich bete bei Gott, dass dieser gottlose Mensch (Herr Straub) schnellstmöglich das Restaurant verlassen kann, sonnst kommt wahrscheinlich bald keiner mehr in das Restaurant !!!!!!

We went to the Forsthaus Raschwitz for lunch today and had a really nice time with the food. The beetroot carpaccio was delicious, the ox cheeks were wonderful, and the dessert was a successful ending. What made our visit particularly pleasant was the excellent service provided by a blonde service lady. She looked after all of us with a lot of warmth and attention, was always friendly, approachable, kept an eye on allergies and had a special feeling for the needs of her guests. Their professionalism and warmth made us feel comfortable despite a somewhat rocky start. However, the handling of the last-minute cancellation of some guests was less pleasing. In times of a rampant flu epidemic, it should actually be understandable that plans change at short notice, especially if you give notice even a day in advance. Unfortunately, we had to prove the cancellation again on the day itself, which rather spoiled the start of our visit. Thanks to the excellent service and good cuisine, we have positive memories of the visit overall.

Wir hatten uns auf einen kulinarischen Abend gefreut. Mit einem Croupon-Geschenkgutschein wollten wir gestern , am Montag, einen schönen Abend genießen, der uns dann schon bei der Anmeldung beim Kellner vermiest wurde. Wir hatten ein Crouponschein, auf dem kein Wert in Zahlen stand, dafür QR-code + Strichcode+ coupon-Nr..... Der Kellner (anfangs noch freundlich) erklärte uns gleich zu Anfang, das die Wildkarte für Croupon nicht zutrifft, da " die Kalkulation nicht passt". Als wir ihn dann den Gutschein geben wollten, wurden wir darauf hingewiesen, das er diesen so nicht nehmen kann, da kein Crouponwert drauf steht... Auch der Chef ist leider seit Montag im Urlaub.. Es führte kein Weg rein, den Gutschein einzulösen und er ließ uns dann einfach sitzen....wahrscheinlich in der Hoffnung, das wir ohne Gutschein speisen werden... Wir denken, das es ein Masche ist, um Gäste ins Lokal zu locken und die dann ohne Croupon den Normalpreis zahlen.... Alleine schon 5,90euro für ein 0,5l Fassbier ist nicht mehr normal. Wenn man dann Rezessionen liest, kann man froh sein, dort nichts gegessen zu haben... Also keine Empfehlung für dieses traditionelle Gasthaus

Reservation: you have to pay 10 euros for an “empty place setting”. This means that if someone cannot come with you at short notice, you pay 10 euros for the missing person. Cancellations are possible up to 10 p.m. one day in advance free of charge. Unfortunately, something can always come up spontaneously. Illness etc. Therefore, I find it very unattractive to pay 10 euros for this case. I now prefer to reserve the regular Friday rounds "From Markkleeberger for Markkleeberger" of 15 people at another restaurant.

We were there on January 2nd. with 4 people in the restaurant. The Forsthaus Raschwitz is a traditional restaurant that already existed when I was a child and yet this was my first visit. You will be welcomed and seated in the entrance area. The ambience is wonderfully rustic and reminiscent of “old times”. It fits perfectly with the traditional building! The staff is friendly and quick. The map is well sorted but not overloaded. There remains a firm belief that everything is freshly prepared. We had meat three times and fish once and only the latter was a disappointment as it was poorly boned. Everything tasted good and the price-performance ratio was also good. I would like to mention that the sanitary facilities can be found in the basement and there is also a stair lift for guests with physical limitations. That struck me as positive! Conclusion: I really enjoyed my first visit! We really enjoyed it and we would like to come back again. We wish the team continued success and nice guests!

Kleines Neujahresessen im Forsthaus Raschwitz, sehr netter Empfang , klasse Essen und auch die Nachspeise war ein Genuss. Absolut empfehlenswert, auch das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist in Ordnung.

The forester's house is a long-established house and the quality varies quite a lot depending on the respective hole. The food is definitely good and nicely presented. However, you get the impression that not everything is prepared by hand using fresh ingredients. For the desired quality and the price - salmon = €24.90 - a little more should be offered. The ambience is solidly rustic, a large wood-panelled room, very nice but quite loud. Surprisingly, an order for 7 people would be prepared with a table of 6 and, upon request, it would be possible to move it, but oh wonder even a table of 6, there is only one big ?. Opinions differ when it comes to service. Anyone who likes "dozens" and "What do we want to drink" or "The aunt made a mistake" will be welcomed very well, everyone else who wants a little more professionalism has to tolerate it. The order was quick, the delivery was OK, sometimes a little reminder helped but with 2 service staff it was definitely OK. It was a successful evening at a good level with decent food in a nice atmosphere - there is definitely room for improvement. Thank you.

There were five of us and we had reserved well in advance. The note that a “penalty fee” will be charged if you come with fewer people than reserved or if you cancel a day in advance, well. Had a few tables canceled. The shop wasn't full, but our table wasn't ready. Then we ordered and the spiced meat came straight away, even though it was supposed to come with the main courses. At other tables, the seasoned meat came before the drinks. Then came Lent. Over an hour wait for the main courses. When asked, reference was made to the full store. Then it was quick and it was mediocre. Dry chicken on the salad. It was hard to taste the difference between bread and chicken. Veal schnitzel, also dry. The rest wasn't a great experience either. Conclusion Overload in the kitchen and service. Unfortunately, it's far too expensive for that.

Very good and tasty food and also a delicious beer, not the one available everywhere in Leipzig and the surrounding area. Finally a tasty change. The staff is very friendly and has fun at work. The Forsthaus Raschwitz is highly recommended!

A restaurant to eat out. Everything was good, but the service took some getting used to. Forced funny sarcasm... even with sharp counterattacks from us, no end. Personally, I had veal liver. Not everyone can cook. It was perfect including side dishes.

I've been to the forester's house several times for private celebrations. I can only rate the buffet menu and that was always great. I can't say anything bad about the service either. Parking is also available

We wanted to test the restaurant today for our big family celebration. The restaurant is very stylishly decorated and the food was okay, but the gentleman with glasses who served us didn't work at all. In a place like this I don't expect to be called by the staff, even though I asked him about it, he continued to call us and the comments he made were also very inappropriate and intrusive. Conclusion of the evening, thanks to the gentleman, our family celebration will not take place there.

Top service, great ambience, very tasty food. They have really thought of everything, when you go to the toilet there is a small lift at the stairs. This means that even people with limited mobility can reach the location without any complications. Thank you very much for the great hospitality. Keep it up. We recommend you wholeheartedly. The service staff were friendly and helpful. Everyone made a very nice impression and served us quickly. Unfortunately, the food wasn't that convincing. The pork knuckle was so dry that you could hardly eat it and the country beer sauce that came with it didn't taste like anything. The schnitzel was also quite dry and didn't look freshly prepared. The Twister fries were very hard. All in all, unfortunately disappointing, although the location and service were very good.

We ate our St. Martin's goose here this year. Thank you for your work.
