We were invited to a wedding as guests. The Forsthaus Neuhaus has earned all 5 stars and even more. The food was very good and filling. The staff was always extremely nice and accommodating. We were extremely lucky with the weather this summer and the celebration was largely able to take place outside 😀

The ambience and service were great, but unfortunately the food disappointed me. I had the lunch menu with salad, roast beef and cheesecake. The salad was still completely full of sand and crunched with every bite. The beef was extremely tough and dried out black in places - apparently it had been in the kitchen for a while. And the cheesecake was probably previously frozen or stored way too cold; I had some half-frozen pieces in my mouth when I ate it. Although I was full overall, I continued to eat out of hunger rather than pleasure. The price for 3 courses was okay, but I should have ordered a normal main course for the money.

Excellent collaboration with Lena and her team at a fantastic wedding location. As a DJ, I had the great pleasure of working with Lena and her team at several weddings. Their professionalism and organizational skills made each of these events a smooth and impressive event. The barn, situated in a picturesque setting, is simply breathtaking. Not only does it offer a wonderful backdrop, but it is also excellently equipped. With its authentic charm, exposed wooden beams and large barn doors, it creates a warm and inviting atmosphere that is ideal for unforgettable celebrations. In addition, the restaurant and the beautiful outdoor area offer a flawless blend of elegance, exquisite cuisine and first-class service. I can highly recommend Lena and her team to anyone who wants to have an unforgettable wedding!

Great food, nice service, beautiful surroundings

Without question, one of the most beautiful locations in the Saarbrücken area. The ambience alone is worth a visit. However, I don't think the food is outstanding, rather average to ok, but the prices are way too high, if not exaggerated.

We celebrated our absolute dream wedding here! The location is great for a larger wedding party (approx. 100 people), the service was great, the advice and support from Lena was absolutely great and we were also very impressed by the food. All guests enjoyed it very much. Many thanks again to the entire team! You're doing really great!

Was able to delight the guests at a wedding here as a DJ - and contribute to the wonderful ambience. This is really impressive in this barn, which has a small side room with a counter and a gallery. See for yourself: the pictures! I can't say anything about the food because I didn't eat anything here - but the pictures from other reviews speak for themselves - certainly DELICIOUS!

We were allowed to visit the forester's house barn as guests of a large wedding. The barn is very beautiful and romantic. The loving decoration and the fairy lights attached to the ceiling give the spacious room a very romantic atmosphere. The food was great. There was pork fillet, salmon, roast beef and veg. Lassagna with numerous side dishes. Everything was fresh, very tasty and served attractively as a buffet. The service was mega! We never lacked for anything for a minute. Special requests were fulfilled without reservation (gluten and lactose, no problem) We can absolutely recommend the barn as guests. Of course, we cannot make any statements about the prices.

The ambience is very nice and well maintained. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating, but only at the beginning and at the end do you have to go to the counter and interrupt the ladies' conversation. The food is not bad, but very simple and unfortunately the portions are very different.

We are absolutely thrilled and will definitely come back! 🤤The waitresses are super nice, courteous and fun!🤩 The food was fantastic, for me the best schnitzel (veal schnitzel with asparagus) that I have ever eaten in a restaurant☺️. mein Sohn hat ein Cordon bleu gegessen. Er hatte weder vorher noch nachher was gegessen. Danach eine Nacht durchgekotzt und zwei Tage krank geschrieben. Meine diesbezügliche Nachricht an das Forsthaus wurde mit der lapidaren Antwort, es sei immer alles frisch, "beantwortet". Das Essen steht im krassen Gegensatz zum schönen Ambiente.

Great location to get married! We celebrated our wedding reception including a free wedding there on May 18th, 2024. It was really beautiful. We celebrated in the barn. Everything really went great! The entire daily routine was extremely well organized! Many thanks again to dear Lena & the whole team who contributed to this. Location TOP, organization TOP, food TOP!!!

The restaurant is beautifully located, very nicely furnished and decorated. Great for children to run around and play/discover outside (of course only possible in summer). The food was delicious. However, there is a point deducted because there were very few sauces (cream, hollandaise) on the plate. Re-ordering wasn't a problem but the extra charge was steep and what came was again very little for the extra charge. I found the children's meal too expensive. A children's schnitzel for €12.90 is great. The service was very accommodating. All in all a great visit, very nice atmosphere and delicious food 😊.

Very nice restaurant with a welcoming, cozy atmosphere. The service was first class, super friendly and always attentive. We were there with a larger group, but the food still came without a long wait or delay. That's the way it has to be. The quality of the food was impeccable across the board. Everyone was happy. While hiking we came across this forester's lodge, it is really very beautiful. However, we were greeted relatively unfriendly by a gentleman at the service and it was immediately made clear that you had to order food and drink if you wanted to sit at the beer tables (1/2 of the tables were free and there was no mention of reservations anywhere). For drinks only you have to sit at beer kegs and high chairs. We waited a very long time for our food. People who ordered after us had their food earlier. Cream schnitzel for 20€ (changing the side dish from fries to “Forsthaus potatoes” costs extra, we weren’t told either). The potatoes were barely seasoned and were basically just small jacket potatoes. The salad €16 without toppings, which cost almost €24 with 1 portion of fries & mayo, was also extremely overpriced. We paid almost €55 for 2 people + 1 non-alcoholic drink each & a side dish change from 1x fries to potatoes and vice versa. In my opinion it was too expensive considering the food was mediocre.

Disappointing experience Unfortunately, after visiting the barn, I cannot give a positive review. The Cordon Bleu was dry and had nothing to do with Mediterranean. The fries were average, nothing special, and they didn't even come with a salad. The Wiener Schnitzel was also dry and poorly seasoned, meaning the taste was barely there. Additionally, the service was disappointing. Children's food was not brought on time and we had to wait almost two hours for all dishes to be served. This unprofessionalism was also reflected in the price-performance ratio, which in my opinion was very poor. Overall, it was my first and definitely last visit to this restaurant.

I took the summer salad 15.90 green lettuce, tomatoes, grated carrots, additional shrimps 9.90, the salad had no taste, I was then given salt, pepper and SALAD SAUCE, then it was delicious, a proud amount for SUMMER SALAD, green salad and?? ?? I would have expected variations on the term, 25.90 euros green salad, 3 small tomatoes, some seeds and shrimps

Delicious food in a cozy atmosphere

The rooms and the ambience are very nice, but that's about it... Was eating at Forsthaus for the second time, this time a company party, the first time privately with 4 people. Extremely long waiting times for food, unfortunately a lot of people at our company party got the wrong food. The taste didn't blow me away the second time. Unfortunately I can't recommend it.

We celebrated our wedding at Forsthaus Neuhaus and it was simply perfect. The whole process from the first conversation to the detailed planning and execution of the wedding was ideal. We were supported with a lot of heart and experience. The food, service and ambience couldn't have been better. Here again: Thank you, dear Forsthaus team!

Great ambience, unfortunately the food was disappointing Update.... I received an unfriendly call the day after my review where they were supposedly trying to be friendly, but basically the call was intended to intimidate. The restaurant can be great, it certainly wants to be, but unfortunately it seems to be getting in its own way. No further visit after this call!!! That's why 3 stars for the service became 1 star and for the gentleman's cheekiness an overall rating of 1 star because you don't talk to people like that! Ambience or not The ambience is second to none, which is why expectations were high. The service was quick and very friendly. Papers and crayons were brought to the children without being asked, which I find very welcoming. Unfortunately, most of the pencils were completely painted off or broken off, which is just stupid for children. My husband had saddle of lamb, which he thought was good but not outstanding, I had a rump steak... At least it should be. Desired doneness was medium-rare.... The meat was cut far too flat to reach this cooking point and so I cut into a well-done piece of meat... I let it go back, which was warmly received... A few moments later a new piece arrived with a similar cooking point. As previously mentioned, the thickness of the meat was completely unsuitable for anything other than through. Maybe a little bit medium. But then I ate it anyway. Unfortunately it wasn't beef. It didn't taste good at all. It simply smelled and tasted like pork. I just couldn't eat it. Not even my husband, who is really not squeamish and eats all the family's leftovers, wanted to eat it. I also passed this on to the service, who stammered a little but nothing more happened... She probably passed it on, you could see a conversation in the kitchen, but no one came out of the kitchen to clarify it. In such a case it would have been nice. We order dessert. The service tried to remain friendly and we were too. However, I thought it was a shame that the incident just remained there. We will probably go there again because the atmosphere is great and we don't want to give up on a great restaurant on our doorstep so quickly, but I wouldn't recommend it to friends at first. Air upward....

The atmosphere is very nice in the Forsthaus Neuhaus. Modernly decorated, clean and cozy. The service staff is also very friendly and attentive. However, the kitchen currently leaves something to be desired. (Hot) dishes are often cold, meat is tough and (vegetable) side dishes are often not seasoned. The burger was advertised as having French soft cheese, but in the end there was dry sliced ​​cheese. Maybe the French soft cheese was just out that day, I don't know. In any case, it's a shame for the nice service staff and the great location.

Unfortunately, the food wasn't as expected, which can happen. But then very weak handling of criticism. Since the experience wasn't so convincing for the second time, I probably won't go there again.

Price-performance ratio is totally excessive, at least for what we were offered. Portions not uniform, especially for the same food on the next table. In one meal (pork) the meat was undercooked. Although it was replaced, you should first cut it open to see if it is OK. They specifically asked if there were vegetables included. This was affirmed! Of course it wasn't like that when it was brought. For us, there will be no further visit to the restaurant, where the noise level was so loud that you almost had to shout at each other to entertain yourself.

This forester's house is highly recommended, but it is very loud inside.

Wir waren zu Viert wg. einer Weihnachtsfeier dort. Die drei Karnivoren hatten Rinderroulade mit Rotkraut, was anscheinend sehr schmackhaft war, aber meine vegetarische Speise war dermaßen fad und ungewürzt, Da half auch nachsalzen nicht. Bei der Nachfrage der Servicekraft "hat's geschmeckt?, musste ich meinem Unmut Luft machen. Die Servicekraft versprach, djes der Küche mitzuteilen. Man kann das glauben oder auch nicht! So schnell werden wir dort nicht mehr auftauchen. Der Innenraum war auch dermaßen voll und entsprechend laut, (was ja gut für die Besitzer dieses Etablissements ist), dass eine Unterhaltung am eigenen Tisch kaum möglich war. Für eine Feier ungeeignet würde ich behaupten! Die mitgebrachten Hunde taten mir leid. Einfach zu viele, laute Menschen, das grenzt an Tierquälerei!

In winterlichem Ambiente haben wir einen äußerst leckeren Lunch eingenommen. Räucherlachs Tatar und Kalbsfilet mit leckerer Jus mundeten ausgezeichnet. Sehr guter weiblicher Service!

We were here for a wedding at Christmas time. A great location! Well decorated, beautiful lighting ambience and above all: very tasty food and extremely attentive and quick service. The team is also super child-friendly: before the wedding party received their food, the specially ordered children's meal arrived, individually prepared for each child! Excellent! So the children were full before the adults really started. They disappeared into the (specially rented?) children's room and the parents had a very relaxed meal and celebration! Thanks to the entire team!

We had our free wedding in August 2023 in the great Forsthaus Neuhaus and then celebrated in the restaurant and in the barn. The planning and process worked really well. The food and especially the service were also great. Thanks to Lena's daily support, we didn't have to worry about anything on site and everything worked wonderfully :-) Many thanks again to the entire team, who took very attentive care of everyone at all times!

Wir waren mit16 Personen zum Weihnachtsmenü im Forsthaus. Die Menüs waren liebevoll angerichtet. Das Essen war perfekt, ein Gaumenschmaus, super lecker. Die Auswahl war vielfältig, für jeden war was dabei, Rinderfilet, Kabeljau auch vegetarisch und vegan war mit Vorspeise, Zwischenspeise. Hauptgericht und Nachspeise dabei. Das Filet war auf den Punkt nach Wunsch gegart, einfach super lecker. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder. Ein wunderschöner 🍻garten mitten im 🌳🌲🌳. Die Bedienungen alle super aufmerksam, total freundlich. Ich habe mich sofort 'sau wohl ' gefühlt 😊 Kleine Speisekarte, auch Saisonale Gerichte werden angeboten. Hier ist für jeden etwas dabei, egal ob für den kleinen oder großen Hunger. Da fahren wir ganz bald wieder hin ❤

Das Winterfest 2023 am Forsthaus Neuhaus im Hof der Scheune war eine wohltuende Alternative zu dem sonst üblichen Weihnachtsmarkt-Terror. Tolles Ambiente, viele Verkaufsstände mit kunsthandwerklichen Kleinigkeiten und wirklich schöne Weihnachtsbäume zum Kaufen. Anschließend zu Kaffee u. Kuchen ins Restaurant mit sehr aufmerksamem Service! Sehr zu empfehlen - sicher auch außerhalb der Weihnachtszeit ...

Schöne Lage. Reservierung klappt. Kleine Kinder haben einen Kinderstuhl.

Der Eindruck insgesamt ist sehr gut! Die Speisekarte ist nicht überladen, es gibt sicher dennoch für jeden etwas, auf jeden Fall für Vegetarier genau so wie für den "Standard Fleischkonsumenten". Ob Veganer auch etwas finden können, kann ich nicht mit Bestimmtheit sagen. Die Speisen sind schmackhaft, hübsch dekoriert, die Portionen machen einen satt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, die Atmosphäre ist entspannt. Der Gastgarten ist urig und ungemütlich, leider aktuell nur eine Durchgangsstation. Das Lokal selber geschmackvoll, die derzeitige Dekoration ist ein wirklicher Blickfang. Die Tische sind ausreichend großzügig gestellt, es sind Hunde und Kinder willkommen, was man am frühen Abend auch gemerkt hat, kaum ein Tisch ohne Hund oder Kind. Die Offenheit des Raumes wirkt optisch in seiner Großzügigkeit, aber dämmt halt die Akustik nicht. Extrem laut ist es nicht.

Hatten dort Weihnachtsfeier von der Firma aus. Schön dekoriert, essen war super und die Leute super nett. Kann ich nur empfehlen.

In der Weihnachtszeit ist das Restaurant sehr schön geschmückt mit vielen Lichterketten. Die großen Fenster lassen viel Licht hinein. Dadurch dass es ein großer Raum ist, wird es Recht laut wenn viel los ist. Der Service ist hervorragend, super freundlich und sehr schnell auch bei vollem Haus. Man hat das Gefühl, eine Person macht 10 Sachen gleichzeitig und alle perfekt. Bewundernswert! Das Essen ist schön angerichtet und lecker. Man sollte auch immer die Spezialangebote beachten. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder!

Ein schönes, alteingesessen des Gasthaus am Rande des Urwaldes von Saarbrücken. Immer gut gefüllt. Eine kleine Auswahl leckerer Speisen. Service anstandslos

Wir waren zum Abendessen da und hatten die gefüllten Klöße bestellt. Es waren 2 Stück aus einem Fertigteig gemacht, die Hackfleischfüllung (wenn man das so nennen kann) war in der Größe einer kleinen Walnuss. Eine Fertigsosse über dem total zerkochten Sauerkraut rundete das Gericht ab. Preis dafür: 19,90 Euro. Ganz ehrlich, es war erbärmlich, so etwas für diesen Preis anzubieten. Die 2 Sterne gibt es nur wegen der schönen Location. Die beiden Bedienungen waren freundlich, aber auch sehr aufdringlich, weil sie permanent nachfragten, ob wir Getränke bestellen möchten.

Guter Service. Das bestellte Hirschrückensteak an Portweinjus, mit Apfelrotkraut und Maronengnocchi, war köstlich. Preislich etwas gehoben, aber man bekommt kulinarisch etwas geboten.

Tolle Location, sowohl drinnen wie auch im großen Biergarten. Qualität des Essens schwankt ein wenig, mal ganz toll, manchmal auch nur mittelmäßig. Service immer sehr freundlich.

Man findet kaum Worte. Wir hatten dort unsere unvergessliche Hochzeit. Es war unkompliziert und jeder unserer Wünsche ging in Erfüllung. Das Essen und die Getränke waren wunderbar. Und der Service ist so hervorragend persönlich und zuvorkommend.
