Great beer garden, always a pleasure

The following rating reflects my opinion: Food average and I think that various convenience products are used. Too expensive for that. Especially the starters. In my opinion, three kinds of goat cheese were way too expensive for the portion size.

We celebrated our daughter's birthday there. It was our first time there, and when the reservation confirmation arrived with a note about the desired dress code and the prices, we expected a bit more. It's a large room that's very loud, and at the tables in the middle, you sit right in the middle. The food was delicious, but we would have expected a bit more finesse. ...and if you claim to be dressed casually... the waitress shouldn't be walking around in tracksuits... The parking situation is also a disaster... there was no space in front of the restaurant (and it wasn't busy), and there were no lights a few hundred meters from the parking lot to the restaurant... but thank goodness everyone has a cell phone with a flashlight these days. But the staff was very friendly, the food was delicious, and we'd be happy to come back.

Food was totally dry. There were five of us. Nobody was thrilled. The next meeting will take place in another restaurant.

We celebrated our birthday there with eight people and had a lovely evening. The food was delicious, the atmosphere stylish and inviting. The service was friendly, but could have been more attentive. Overall, it was a successful experience that we would like to repeat.

For me personally, a salad plate (as a main course) is missing from the menu. The cream schnitzel was with canned mushrooms in the sauce. Fries were great and so was the side salad. The service staff were very friendly.

We emailed and asked if we could have our wedding there and wrote down a few suggestions as requested. Within a few days we received a quick response from the contact person about the wedding location. But we were surprised by the cold and rude response. Perhaps the response should have been more appropriate and polite, especially to people who are celebrating their wedding and want to celebrate their most beautiful moment in your restaurant. Please double check your customer response method. Thank you. I don't want to badmouth the place or the restaurant as I have been there more than once and was very happy with the food and the place. But this time I couldn't accept it.

It was just great. Great food of high quality, great service and nice ambience. Of course it's a little louder when it's full. But it also creates a really nice atmosphere. Anyone who has something to complain about here probably does so everywhere...

The food was great and the waiters, except for the head waiter, were all very friendly. However, no waiter (head waiter in this case) has managed to unsettle my mom. Yes, you don't always have time to immediately take care of someone who has a question for the waiter But I also found it very cheeky to say that with a raised finger as if it were impertinent to ask a question (we wanted to ask for a table outside). Shortly afterwards, we snapped at the other waitress in front of us because we then asked her if she perhaps still had a place outside... Also not exactly nice My review probably doesn't help anyone since it's probably about the management... But maybe the owner will read it

The food was very good. The waiters were friendly and real professionals. Although almost all the tables in the restaurant were occupied that evening, we were served very quickly. The room is particularly beautiful with the open window fronts, also with a view of the forest. A big negative point, however, was the unbearable volume. It was difficult to hold a conversation, so we left the restaurant immediately after eating. Unfortunately we won't be coming back any time soon.

Unfortunately only 1 star. Staff very nice. Nice guest room. Unfortunately a bit too crowded and therefore very loud. Food from my husband and son was also good. Unfortunately I was unlucky. Unfortunately my food was cold and spoiled and the vegetables were missing. Sick the next day because of it. As compensation, we got dessert on the house (🥴). The forestry house still doesn't get a second chance from me. Price level €€€

Very good food for which you pay accordingly and fast, friendly, relaxed service in a pleasant atmosphere. Nice chat with the waiter with the Porsche about Porsches and other vehicles. Greetings go out; would love to come back.

The food, our table, the drinks were perfect. Despite the restaurant being fully booked, we were served excellently. The service team gave us a wonderful evening. The cloverleaf thanks you very much. Especially Helga and Mom Kliebenstein. We'll be back.

Very nice atmosphere. Food is delicious. Service was friendly...a little inattentive... But not every service person is the same and not every day is the same

I've seen better times there. Unfortunately, the service was very intrusive and laughed at our request not to drink alcohol, which I found inappropriate and the service was poorly coordinated: I had a takeaway dish and had to wait 20 minutes to pay. The food was average, not bad, but didn't give me any positive memories. Unfortunately, the lighting in the parking lot was broken and it was very difficult to even reach the restaurant.

Went there spontaneously today as a group of four (2 adults, 2 children) with a dog. Despite being busy, we were warmly welcomed and served. The drinks and food were delivered quickly. The portions were sufficiently large. The food tasted good. We'd love to come back, next time we'll make a reservation.

It was perfect! The food was very good, the service was very friendly. All Tippi Toppi. I thought it was very good that there was a lot of communication. Approximately how long it will take, what is possible and what is not. This is really awesome!

Snippy behavior of the waitresses. After more than an hour of waiting and a complaint, our food was brought to the table. One person's sauerkraut. Dish was cold. Another complaint, after 15 minutes the plate was brought back. No apology, after we pointed this out, the waiter left us sitting down and said that he didn't care. We paid without drink money and left. Impossible!

Very satisfied. Serving food and drinking lovingly, not clapping. You should allow time as there is a break between courses. These breaks allow you to enjoy the food.

Apart from the fact that the food was really tasty and the rooms were very homely, the service was sensationally good. The boys and girls are very on the ball, incredibly quick-witted and you can't refuse them anything. Thanks for that!

Went to the forester's house for Christmas 2023 with family. Food was totally overpriced, the highly praised Wiener Schnitzel was 26 EURO without salad. OUTRAGEOUS!!! Otherwise the quality of the food was below average. Price/performance poor. Any good hobby chef can do that better. However, very friendly service. I think it is questionable whether the station hall can be described as a beautiful ambience.

I found it negative that open drinks were served in glasses, e.g. Coke is stale and a large bottle of soda in the open carafe, I assume from a soda machine.

Wir sind mit Freunden bei einer Wanderung im Forsthaus Neuhaus eingekehrt. Tolles Ambiente. Aber der Kakao war mit Wasser angerührt. Für 3,50 € hätte ich was anderes erwartet, leider nicht gut:-(

We often went to the forester's house to eat. It's always an experience. The food is tasty and plentiful. The service and service were excellent, always friendly and accommodating.

Unfortunately I didn't visit and I give the stars despite because I took part in the jungle run... Nicely organized and there were also people from the inn in the organization... That's what I was told!👍👍

Delicious food in a very attractive atmosphere. I absolutely loved the roulade because I usually only know it that well from my parents. It was very busy, but we were served quite quickly. The meal took about an hour, but that didn't bother us at all. What was more disturbing was the very high noise level in this large, open room. As a result, we left immediately after eating because we felt numb afterwards. We then ate our dessert somewhere else in a quieter environment. Personally, it bothered me a bit that when you were there for the first time you didn't really know (based on the signs, for example) whether you could drive up to the restaurant by car (you can!). Unfortunately, we assumed we would have to park in the lower parking lot, which resulted in us walking back to the car in complete darkness. The street lights down the path were broken. This is not only annoying but also dangerous. Clear signage indicating that parking is possible directly at the restaurant would have helped. Plus, as a first-time guest, it's not really clear where exactly the entrance is. The beer garden, which we saw as we walked past, certainly invites you to linger in the summer. But whether we will come back to the restaurant here is very questionable due to the noise and the fact that you are sitting quite close to strangers and inevitably have to listen to their conversations loudly whether you want to or not. The food would always draw me back, but I personally think the last reasons mentioned are a no go. When you go out to eat you want to have peace and quiet and switch off from everyday life and I couldn't do that here. It was too stressful for me.

Super nice location - it was a great event!

We visited the Forsthaus Neuhaus in Riegelsberg because of the great ambience and the beautiful location, but were unfortunately a bit disappointed. The restaurant is beautifully situated in the countryside and invites you to linger with its cozy atmosphere and a very nice beer garden - unfortunately the quality of the food does not match the high prices. The veal fillet was particularly unfortunate, as it was priced at a hefty €37 and was neither convincing in terms of taste nor the way it looked on the plate. The meat was not of the top quality we had hoped for and was simply not appropriate for the price. The service was friendly, but overall seemed a bit slow and inattentive. It took a while for orders to be taken and we had to ask for small things several times. We also found it a shame that the dish of the day wasn't told to us proactively, but only upon our own request. In addition, we were not asked for dessert after the main course, which should be standard for a restaurant in this price range. Overall, we expected more from our visit. For the higher prices, we expect a more harmonious overall package of high-quality cuisine and attentive service, which unfortunately wasn't entirely the case here. However, the beautiful ambience and the great location invite you to visit again.

Both the service and the fabulous food were convincing. The location is a clear heartfelt recommendation for everyone who wants a perfect wedding ;-). We were invited to a wedding as guests. The Forsthaus Neuhaus has earned all 5 stars and even more. The food was very good and filling. The staff was always extremely nice and accommodating. We were extremely lucky with the weather this summer and the celebration was largely able to take place outside 😀

The ambience and service were great, but unfortunately the food disappointed me. I had the lunch menu with salad, roast beef and cheesecake. The salad was still completely full of sand and crunched with every bite. The beef was extremely tough and dried out black in places - apparently it had been in the kitchen for a while. And the cheesecake was probably previously frozen or stored way too cold; I had some half-frozen pieces in my mouth when I ate it. Although I was full overall, I continued to eat out of hunger rather than pleasure. The price for 3 courses was okay, but I should have ordered a normal main course for the money.

Excellent collaboration with Lena and her team at a fantastic wedding location. As a DJ, I had the great pleasure of working with Lena and her team at several weddings. Their professionalism and organizational skills made each of these events a smooth and impressive event. The barn, situated in a picturesque setting, is simply breathtaking. Not only does it offer a wonderful backdrop, but it is also excellently equipped. With its authentic charm, exposed wooden beams and large barn doors, it creates a warm and inviting atmosphere that is ideal for unforgettable celebrations. In addition, the restaurant and the beautiful outdoor area offer a flawless blend of elegance, exquisite cuisine and first-class service. I can highly recommend Lena and her team to anyone who wants to have an unforgettable wedding!

Great food, nice service, beautiful surroundings

Without question, one of the most beautiful locations in the Saarbrücken area. The ambience alone is worth a visit. However, I don't think the food is outstanding, rather average to ok, but the prices are way too high, if not exaggerated.

We celebrated our absolute dream wedding here! The location is great for a larger wedding party (approx. 100 people), the service was great, the advice and support from Lena was absolutely great and we were also very impressed by the food. All guests enjoyed it very much. Many thanks again to the entire team! You're doing really great!

Was able to delight the guests at a wedding here as a DJ - and contribute to the wonderful ambience. This is really impressive in this barn, which has a small side room with a counter and a gallery. See for yourself: the pictures! I can't say anything about the food because I didn't eat anything here - but the pictures from other reviews speak for themselves - certainly DELICIOUS!

We were allowed to visit the forester's house barn as guests of a large wedding. The barn is very beautiful and romantic. The loving decoration and the fairy lights attached to the ceiling give the spacious room a very romantic atmosphere. The food was great. There was pork fillet, salmon, roast beef and veg. Lassagna with numerous side dishes. Everything was fresh, very tasty and served attractively as a buffet. The service was mega! We never lacked for anything for a minute. Special requests were fulfilled without reservation (gluten and lactose, no problem) We can absolutely recommend the barn as guests. Of course, we cannot make any statements about the prices.

The ambience is very nice and well maintained. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating, but only at the beginning and at the end do you have to go to the counter and interrupt the ladies' conversation. The food is not bad, but very simple and unfortunately the portions are very different.

mein Sohn hat ein Cordon bleu gegessen. Er hatte weder vorher noch nachher was gegessen. Danach eine Nacht durchgekotzt und zwei Tage krank geschrieben. Meine diesbezügliche Nachricht an das Forsthaus wurde mit der lapidaren Antwort, es sei immer alles frisch, "beantwortet". Das Essen steht im krassen Gegensatz zum schönen Ambiente.

Great location to get married! We celebrated our wedding reception including a free wedding there on May 18th, 2024. It was really beautiful. We celebrated in the barn. Everything really went great! The entire daily routine was extremely well organized! Many thanks again to dear Lena & the whole team who contributed to this. Location TOP, organization TOP, food TOP!!!

The restaurant is beautifully located, very nicely furnished and decorated. Great for children to run around and play/discover outside (of course only possible in summer). The food was delicious. However, there is a point deducted because there were very few sauces (cream, hollandaise) on the plate. Re-ordering wasn't a problem but the extra charge was steep and what came was again very little for the extra charge. I found the children's meal too expensive. A children's schnitzel for €12.90 is great. The service was very accommodating. All in all a great visit, very nice atmosphere and delicious food 😊.

Very nice restaurant with a welcoming, cozy atmosphere. The service was first class, super friendly and always attentive. We were there with a larger group, but the food still came without a long wait or delay. That's the way it has to be. The quality of the food was impeccable across the board. Everyone was happy. Very friendly and attentive staff, delicious modern food.

While hiking we came across this forester's lodge, it is really very beautiful. However, we were greeted relatively unfriendly by a gentleman at the service and it was immediately made clear that you had to order food and drink if you wanted to sit at the beer tables (1/2 of the tables were free and there was no mention of reservations anywhere). For drinks only you have to sit at beer kegs and high chairs. We waited a very long time for our food. People who ordered after us had their food earlier. Cream schnitzel for 20€ (changing the side dish from fries to “Forsthaus potatoes” costs extra, we weren’t told either). The potatoes were barely seasoned and were basically just small jacket potatoes. The salad €16 without toppings, which cost almost €24 with 1 portion of fries & mayo, was also extremely overpriced. We paid almost €55 for 2 people + 1 non-alcoholic drink each & a side dish change from 1x fries to potatoes and vice versa. In my opinion it was too expensive considering the food was mediocre.

Great place for rest, indoors and outdoors.

Disappointing experience Unfortunately, after visiting the barn, I cannot give a positive review. The Cordon Bleu was dry and had nothing to do with Mediterranean. The fries were average, nothing special, and they didn't even come with a salad. The Wiener Schnitzel was also dry and poorly seasoned, meaning the taste was barely there. Additionally, the service was disappointing. Children's food was not brought on time and we had to wait almost two hours for all dishes to be served. This unprofessionalism was also reflected in the price-performance ratio, which in my opinion was very poor. Overall, it was my first and definitely last visit to this restaurant.

I took the summer salad 15.90 green lettuce, tomatoes, grated carrots, additional shrimps 9.90, the salad had no taste, I was then given salt, pepper and SALAD SAUCE, then it was delicious, a proud amount for SUMMER SALAD, green salad and?? ?? I would have expected variations on the term, 25.90 euros green salad, 3 small tomatoes, some seeds and shrimps

We were there two weeks ago with 6 people and a small child. Were very happy with everything. Would recommend it.

Delicious food in a cozy atmosphere

The rooms and the ambience are very nice, but that's about it... Was eating at Forsthaus for the second time, this time a company party, the first time privately with 4 people. Extremely long waiting times for food, unfortunately a lot of people at our company party got the wrong food. The taste didn't blow me away the second time. Unfortunately I can't recommend it.

We celebrated our wedding at Forsthaus Neuhaus and it was simply perfect. The whole process from the first conversation to the detailed planning and execution of the wedding was ideal. We were supported with a lot of heart and experience. The food, service and ambience couldn't have been better. Here again: Thank you, dear Forsthaus team!
