FOOD MANTRA Nepali-Tibetan Cuisine Restaurant in Würzburg

A great place if you want to spend a cozy evening with friends, family or with your child away from the city center near nature and forest🌲. Friendly staff, delicious fresh food, the opportunity to spend time in the open air (the roof of the restaurant, if desired, folds out and in like in cabrio😄👍) and enjoy the weather and the ☀️ . Portions are more than adequate size for the price offered. You won't regret! 🤚🕉️💫

There's nothing to complain about there.

The food is really recommended! We had a starter of breaded vegetables and chicken in chickpea batter and a traditional spicy dip. For main courses we had the traditional dumplings (momos) steamed with sesame dip and traditional dip. Both a dream! The vegetables in the curry were fresh and crunchy and the homemade paneer was world class. The waiters were very friendly! It was a bit loud in the restaurant, but that's not a bad thing unless you are very sensitive to noise.

Lovers of oriental cuisine and vegetarians should definitely visit because the offer is wide and varied. Each dish is served in its own way. The appetizer for two, which included a hot dish with chicken, was exceptionally very tasty.

If you like Indian food, you will also like this restaurant. There were three of us and we enjoyed all the dishes. There is also a very large selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. The location in the Steinbachtal is very nice and it has been completely renovated and is no longer recognizable compared to the former Steinbachtalbäck...

The starter platter is vegan (I'm a meat eater 😉) to kneel down on! Main course (chicken with vegetables and baked noodles) delicious 😋. There was one disadvantage - unfortunately there was no room in my stomach for dessert 😉🤣. The waitresses are super friendly 👍. We were here for the first time, but definitely not the last. Absolute recommendation! 🤩

Beautiful, beautiful place! The food has always been fantastic, the team is friendly and accommodating (especially with questions about allergens and other intolerances), the location is beautiful and quiet. We always like to sit in the winter garden and enjoy the view of the greenery. In terms of price-performance, the family-run restaurant is a lot ahead of many restaurants in Würzburg. Don't let the connection put you off. The Food Mantra is also very easy to reach by public transport (tram and then bus). We prefer a bike trip and enjoy finding proper parking spaces. I always enjoy coming here ♥️

Went there with the family for the first time today and we couldn't really imagine the type of food. Everyone was thrilled, the food was delicious, the service was cheerful and friendly and the prices were completely reasonable. Gladly again.

Delicious food served with false facts We went to Food Mantra for the first time today because of the good reviews and the cuisine, which is not often found. When we ordered, we said that at least one of the two orders must not contain coriander, as that is an absolute no-go. We were also assured that the main course we ordered was definitely without coriander. The starter (chicken and vegetables in chickpea batter) with a sweet chili sauce was very tasty and made us look forward to the main courses. Unfortunately we were quite disappointed here. The dish, which upon request was supposed to be without coriander, was inedible for at least some of us; unfortunately it seemed as if coriander was the main ingredient here (also or precisely because this ingredient tastes so pungent, especially if you don't like it). After we swapped the food with each other it was better, but unfortunately the second dish also contained a lot of coriander, which is why it was over after a few bites. Unfortunately, anyone who doesn't like coriander knows exactly when a meal contains it. Surely some of you know this feeling🤢 After we had mentioned this, we were told that - although it was denied when we first asked when ordering - it did contain coriander or at least parts of it, although no fresh product was used. Of course that was doubly annoying for us! As an alternative we ordered the naan bread with cheese which was delicious. Unfortunately, the two of us were charged the price for all three dishes... At least we would have liked an apology, certainly a small compensation or a discount for one of the main courses, at least the cheaper naan bread, would have been appropriate! Conclusion: In addition to the delicious food (if you like coriander), false facts are probably also served. Therefore, instead of 5, unfortunately only 2 stars. A pity …

Best authentic Nepali-Tibetan foods and atmosphere.

I ate there twice within a week... I only found out about this restaurant from friends less than 14 days ago and I'm thrilled! So far I've only eaten two types of "momos" (steamed and fried dumplings with delicious fillings and very good dips), but I'll dig through the menu this summer. Very nice, open and uncomplicated hosts and servive employees. I also took a look at the interior - LOVELY! In the future I will often avoid the hustle and bustle up at the "Höfe" and, after a hike over the Annaschlucht, Frankenwarte and the Käppele, I will go straight back down and eat Nepalese food in peace...

Idyllically located in the Steinbachtal, the Nepalese restaurant offers a diverse menu. The mixed starter plate is recommended. We can also only recommend the curry dishes. Warning: very corriander-heavy. The restaurant is obviously no longer an insider tip; it is strongly advisable to reserve in advance. The price-performance ratio is completely fine. The service staff is very friendly and quick. We're going there again!

Today we enjoyed an excellent lunch at Food Mantra - in the middle of the beautiful Steinbachtal, protected under a fully shaded pergola. The culinary delight began with Lassi Mango and Cocos (yoghurt drink). We were particularly impressed with the choyela (fried chicken with coriander) from the starter platter and the yellow lentil curry afterwards was also excellent! The Tibetan momos were lovingly prepared by hand and were a work of art in terms of appearance and taste. Everyone was happy with their food, the seasoning was piquantly delicious. Vegetarians, vegans and meat eaters will get their money's worth here. Since it is prepared by hand, perhaps also allergy sufferers. We were treated very kindly by everyone and our dog was even offered water and treats. Really very nice and familiar. We would love to come back!

This restaurant is really recommended. Very pleasant, good selection for vegans. The ambience has a slightly Tibetan-Nepali touch. Dogs allowed. Parking spaces in front of the door. Lots of greenery around. Very very friendly people. Thanks for the good food!

Ideally located for a lunch break on the nearby hiking routes. Ate chicken choyela for the first time - incredibly tasty! You have to try it! Plus the best garlic bread! And a really nice and attentive operating family.

Nepali food can mean so much and here at Food Mantra we experienced the best of it along with Tibetan influences. The family and team that run it are very friendly and helpful. Feelt as if we stepped into a mini nepal, from the food smells to ambiance. The restaurant is amazing, with a large outdoor sitting area and a modern inside section, carefully decorated to not be the tacky overdecorated nepali restaurants we often see. A new standard for Nepali restaurants and only positive! Had Momos (dumplings) 🥟🥟🥟🥟🥟 which were among the best ive ever had (and dumplings my favorite dish). The dipping sauces enhance the experience alot, while the moms themselves were not to thick or thin and just the right amount of filling without too much spices, just the way it should be. Tried some of other items too but was in a positive food coma so forgot to take pictures! The dry fried lamb was 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 the lentil (dal) and Thali set took us to Nirvana and back! Well done team and without a doubt one of the best nepali food experiences in the world!

Overall everything was good, the service sometimes seemed a bit overwhelmed by the well-filled restaurant. The food was good. It was a bit chilly. If you like Indian food you will also find something to eat here.

Food very tasty. Everything fresh and prepared with a lot of love. Portion size and price are completely consistent. Unfortunately, the small room (~30 guests) is very loud and it is difficult to have a reasonable conversation. Food was great, candlelight dinner was non-existent! Condition fixed, attentive and nice.

The food mantra is located in the beautiful Steinbachtal in Würzburg with a beer garden and indoor restaurant. We always combine our visit here with a walk in the forest. The food tastes wonderful and the service is super nice. The beer garden and the interior are decorated in Tibetan style and the whole thing looks very exotic in Würzburg, Lower Franconia. Definitely an insider tip in Würzburg.

Were there for the first time and certainly not the last time. As a starter we had the mixed vegetarian starter plate. For the main course we chose Tibetan specialties. Alu Kauli and steamed momos with traditional and sesame dip. The sesame dip is so divinely refreshing 😍 The only small drawback: it gets pretty loud in the room when everyone is chatting 😅

Tried the restaurant for the first time today. The food is really, really good. Totally delicious and fresh. The service staff were also friendly and accommodating. They always asked regularly if we wanted anything else. But absolutely not intrusive. We would like to come again. The only point of criticism is that when the restaurant is full, it is really loud.

The food was very tasty and beautifully presented. If you want a “different” meal, you should eat here. The service was very nice and happy to help. The parking options directly in front of the restaurant are also an advantage.

The restaurant is a bit out of the way in Steinbachtal 64, but the journey is worth it. An overall fantastic meal with fresh produce. The taste is simply on point. A very friendly staff supports the full enjoyment of the meal. A small downer is the noise in the dining room, which is a bit reminiscent of a train station hall. There was no interruption to the meal.

Sehr gutes, schön inszeniertes Essen, das sowohl dem Auge als auch dem Gaumen echt Freude bereitet. Als besonders lecker empfanden wir die gedämpften Momos, das Entencurry sowie die Vorspeisenplatte. Sowohl Veganer als auch Vegetarier müssen sich keinesfalls nur mit Beilagen begnügen, sondern können aus einem recht großen Angebot auswählen. Auch der Service und das Team war super, sodass wir gerne wiederkommen.

Haben das Restaurant zufällig entdeckt und bereits zwei mal dort lecker gegessen und können es nur weiterempfehlen. Vegetarier und Veganer kommen hier nicht zu kurz. Das ist ein familiengeführtes Restaurant und das merkt man an der Qualität des Essens, hier wird noch alles selbst gekocht und der Gast wird herzlich empfangen. Werden auf jedenfall noch öfters dort schlemmen.

Thema Service👎🏼! Es geht hier ausschließlich um eine weibliche Bedienung. Wir wollten mit dem Schlemmerblock 2023 dort essen gehen. Wir wurden von einer Dame bedient, die meinte, dass der Schlemmerblock heute (Sonntag 19.11.23) nicht akzeptiert wird, da heute ein gesetzlicher Feiertag wäre. Wir erwiderten, dass der heutige Volkstrauertag kein gesetzlicher Feiertag sei. Daraufhin sagte sie sofort und absolut unhöflich, dass sie mit uns nicht diskutieren würde und das wir ja wo anders essen gehen können. Mal davon abgesehen, dass diese Aussage schlicht und einfach den AGBs des Schlemmerblocks widerspricht, ist so ein Ton und so ein Verhalten absolut unprofessionell und unangebracht. So kommen neue Kunden einfach nicht nochmal!

Ich hatte kürzlich das Vergnügen, das nepalesische Restaurant zu besuchen, und ich bin einfach begeistert! Mit vollem Herzen gebe ich 5 von 5 Sternen, denn dieses Restaurant hat meine Erwartungen in jeder Hinsicht übertroffen. Das Ambiente war einfach zauberhaft. Die traditionelle nepalesische Dekoration schafft eine warme und einladende Atmosphäre. Das Personal war nicht nur freundlich und aufmerksam, sondern auch kenntnisreich über die Speisekarte. Die Empfehlungen waren exzellent und haben meinen Gaumen auf eine kulinarische Reise durch Nepal mitgenommen. Nun zum Höhepunkt - das Essen! Die Speisen sind wahrlich ein Fest für die Sinne. Jeder Bissen war eine Explosion von Geschmack und Aromen. Die Gewürze waren perfekt ausgewogen, und die Frische der Zutaten war deutlich spürbar. Besonders beeindruckt hat mich die Vielfalt der Gerichte auf der Speisekarte. Die Präsentation der Gerichte war ebenfalls erstklassig. Jeder Teller war wie ein Kunstwerk, ansprechend und liebevoll zubereitet. Zusammengefasst kann ich das Food Mantra uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Food Mantra ist für mich eine absolute Empfehlung, und ich wollte noch einmal sagen, wieso ich so begeistert bin: 1. Die Bedienung ist immer extrem freundlich und sehr herzlich, allgemein herrscht einfach immer eine nette Atmosphäre 2. Jede Kritik zum Essen untersagt sich mir. Wirklich alle Gerichte, welche ich bisher gekostet habe, haben ausnahmslos super geschmeckt und waren sehr aromatisch. 3. Ich liebe wie authentisch alles ist. Vom Ambiente bis hin zum traditionellen nepalesischen Essen, es macht einfach Freude! 4. Die Speisekarte ist übrigens sehr vielfältig, ein weiteres Plus! Es ist wirklich für jeden etwas dabei. Zu guter Letzt kann ich nur jedem einen Besuch wärmstens nahelegen! Wirklich die dicksten 5 von 5 Sterne, die ich bisher vergeben habe! Das Restaurant ist sehr unauffällig von der Straße aus. Sobald man rein geht, wird man vom Ambiente total begeistert. Der Herr im Service ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen ist sehr, sehr lecker und die Portionen sehr groß! Es wird alles frisch & selbst gemacht und ohne Geschmacksverstärker gekocht, das schmeckt und sieht man. Wir waren schon das zweite mal da und werden viele weitere male kommen.

Was soll ich sagen. Es hat geschmeckt wie bei jedem Inder. Nichts besonderes. Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Ambiente sehr schön. Weiß nicht ob ich nochmal hingehen würde.

Super Essen und Personal echt nett! Wir hatten einen gemischten Vorspeisen Teller der meiner Meinung nach auch das Highlight war. Als Hauptspeise hatte ich ein Lamm Curry mit Reis, das war auch lecker aber nicht Weltklasse. Mal etwas anderes in Würzburg. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Hier kann man in super freundlicher Atmosphäre Essen! Preise sind ganz OK. Essen schmeckt super Lecker. Und die Inhaber sind Freundlich wie es ja auch sein soll. Kommen gerne wieder!

Essen war sehr lecker, die Portionsgröße am Preis bemessen ist zu klein....

Ich bin jetzt schon länger in Würzburg und hab schon viele Restaurants probiert, aber das ist komplett was anderes, dass man so noch nie gegessen hat und ich bin echt erstaunt was die dort anbieten👌🏼 Also wer richtiges asiatisches essen probieren will, ist hier absolut richtig. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Wir kommen seit langer Zeit regelmäßig als Familie und schätzen die herzliche Gastfreundschaft und das köstliche Essen jedes mal aufs Neue

Sehr gut für Veganer geeignet, alle Gerichte sind gekennzeichnet! Wir hatten die Nomos, Blumenkohl im Kichererbsenmantel und pikante Gemüsesuppe mit Udonnudeln. Alles sehr lecker! 😊 Die Suppe war allerdings für unseren Geschmack etwas zu wenig pikant, sonst TOP! Super netter Service 👍 Zu empfehlen!
