Fish & Sea in the E-Center in Bremen

I don't know who posts the opening hours online, but they should be kept up to date. I once walked halfway across Bremen to get a fish sandwich, only to find out that the fish shop was closed for two weeks.

For a chain, the sandwich I ate wasn't bad, a fast food type place but with fish.

At Nordsee in the Weserpark Bremen you can expect a wide selection of fresh, natural fish dishes and crisp salads. If you're feeling peckish every now and then, you can choose from a wide range of cold and warm snacks. The restaurant offers plenty of seating, but unfortunately the tables and chairs were quite dirty. The prices are quite high, and unfortunately there is no pudding with the dishes - this has to be ordered separately. In addition, the portions are rather small in relation to the prices.

First, the positive: the food was tasty and offered reasonable value for money. The opening hours are until 7 p.m., which sounds good, but doesn't match the reality on site. By 6 p.m., food is only prepared reluctantly. If you want a hot meal, you're immediately stopped with the comment "that's going to take a while...". If you're still hungry/craving a hot meal, the next hurdle arises: "The grill's already off, we only have one fryer left...". If you stand your ground and order, the next problem arises: Nordsee has distributed a coupon flyer, but the employees don't know how to persuade the cashier to accept the coupons. Thankfully, there was a second employee who was at least able to put her colleague on the right track. Then the next surprise: the advertised prices are displayed, but the cashier adds VAT. The employee's comment was, "...that's normal for us, the cashier does it like that, we can't do that..." In my opinion, this is a more than unusual practice, to avoid using any more blunt language. As early as 6:20 p.m., the dining room is closed with a roller shutter as a precautionary measure, allowing guests to leave the store past the counter (a clear hint: it's almost over now...). When returning dishes, mops and buckets are often in the way, and you get a dirty look if you don't use a tray...
