Unfortunately, the owner was very harsh when we were greeted. We had made a reservation for three people and were seated at a table where two of us had trouble finding space. It was a good thing the third person canceled. The food took a while to arrive, but that was fine. We had a fish plate with three fillets that were good but very small. The other dish was plaice with prawns. The plaice was really very good, but the prawns were as tough as a rubber ball and had no flavor. The color was very artificial. I mentioned this and was told that no one has ever complained. Well, once and never again!

Eating fish in Quedlinburg is highly recommended. My wife said it was better than in Rügen. We had herring salad and Maje's traditional fish.

We're on vacation here and ate there. It was so, so delicious. I tried the Harz trout. Our requests were taken into account, and the service was simply fantastic. We'll be back! 😊 It's worth it!

...actually, you shouldn't eat fish in a restaurant so far from the coast; fortunately, it's just a cliché. Great menu with something for every taste. We went there twice and were treated to the finest food each time. Friendly, relaxed service, a great chef in the small kitchen who knows how to prepare fish to perfection: crispy on the outside, translucent and juicy on the inside. Respect and praise be lavish. Even the fried potatoes are so delicious and skillfully prepared, you can tell the people in the kitchen know their craft. Highly recommended, but make sure you make a reservation; word has gotten around that they're professionals.

Very friendly service, Very good food

Simple and friendly service: the usual in the city. The fish dishes are not "overthought", the herring is a sea fish, the Harz trout is a freshwater fish, you can taste it. "Matjes" is used in a very varied way. I recommend it to those who like it. In the evening a small trio plays music, which is a special point for it.

The food was good, but the beer was much too warm. I had it iced. That's unacceptable in a good restaurant.

Wir hatten reserviert im Außenbereich und waren mit der Platzauswahl nicht zufrieden. Die freundliche Bedienung hat auf unsere Nachfrage alles erdenklich möglich gemacht und uns im Innenbereich für 5 Personen doch noch Plätze frei gemacht. Das Essen mit Meeresfisch war reichhaltig und lecker. Wir können das Lokal mit gutem Gewissen weiter empfehlen. Eine Reservierung zum Abendessen wäre von Vorteil.

Kleine Lokation direkt am Parkplatz. Wir hatten Nur Fischbrötchen, die aber vor unseren Augen Frisch zubereitet wurden. Wir haben in der Zeit auch andere Gerichte gesehen, die auch frisch Zubereitet wurden.

We stopped here again, as we do every year. The food was still absolutely top-notch, the staff and owner were super friendly. A great atmosphere with plenty of seating. We're already looking forward to next year. 🤗

The ambiance might normally be better, but during our visit, there was a construction waste container next to the tables. Apparently, the paving was being re-laid. Our chairs slid into the unconsolidated joints between the stones. Luckily, no one fell. The outdoor tables are close to the parking lot. Leaving cars sometimes blow their exhaust fumes toward the guests. Upon our arrival, there was no initial "welcome" from the staff. The food, however, was very tasty.

The tables are next to the dumpster! Is that even normal?!! The tiles under the chairs are falling through! The menu on Google has the old prices! The price of the trout has gone up by 5 euros!

The food arrived very quickly after each other. Ordering dessert or coffee was not possible, we were ignored. But walked inside to ask for the bill.

We had dinner at the Fischkate restaurant, were warmly welcomed by the staff, and were even allowed to bring our dog inside. The food was prepared and served quickly and with great care. The only minor criticism I have is the interior. The space is very lovingly decorated but very cramped. Cuddling with other guests is a must, but otherwise, we were very satisfied overall.

If you're looking for a good fish restaurant, this is the place to go. The service is fantastic, and the dishes are divine. The smoked trout is especially recommended. Every time we're in Quedlinburg, the Fischkate is a must!

We were greeted at the entrance by smoking staff. That's unprofessional and very unpleasant for non-smokers. There were 14 of us dining on the upper floor. Unfortunately, the tables were very awkwardly arranged at an angle, and we sat very close together. The chairs were very uncomfortable. The service was very friendly. The food was mixed. The trout was very tasty. The fried potatoes were OK but not cooked well. The "Quedlinburger Flotter Dreier" dish was unfortunately dry and probably reheated. For the price and the predominantly negative reviews, I would have expected more.

Tables too close together, fish sales in the restaurant, was very uncomfortable! The price/performance ratio was not right. A small pike-perch for 29 euros. A rip-off.

Luckily, we booked a table for Friday evening. The restaurant was packed, and new guests kept coming in. I ordered the 3-piece lei from Quedlinburg with three fish fillets. It was the perfect choice. The fresh fish was fried and seasoned to perfection, the fried potatoes and vegetables were freshly prepared and also incredibly delicious. We also tried the 3-piece matjes plate and found it to be excellent. Anyone in Quedlinburg who likes fish should definitely try it.

Anyone visiting Quedlinburg who loves fish shouldn't miss this lovely restaurant. The fish and side dishes were excellent, and the wine and schnapps were also fantastic. The service was exceptionally friendly. Conclusion: It couldn't be better!

We arrived at this small restaurant on a Friday evening without a reservation. After a short wait, we were spontaneously offered a table outside, which immediately became available. The service, food, and wine left nothing to be desired. We would happily recommend this restaurant!

Went for a feast today. We had the aspic with fried potatoes and three kinds of smoked fish fillets, and it was truly delicious. A pleasant chat with the owner before and after. I must say...highly recommended. I wish the restaurant many more satisfied customers. It's definitely worth a visit. Top

We wanted to have dinner on Good Friday and had asked by phone. Unfortunately, absolutely nothing is available anymore. We then went by in person and wanted to order for Easter Saturday. That worked... I left the restaurant and we continued on our way... then someone called after us, it was the owner, and said there was still a table available immediately... of course we accepted the offer and the rest of the evening was simply amazing. The food was super fresh and tasty and we had a lot of fun. We'll be back 💯 percent. Thank you for the lovely evening.

At first it looked completely inconspicuous from the outside, but we noticed that it was still very busy. That seemed like a good sign to us and appearances were not deceptive. They were very friendly and tried to accommodate special requests. The food was delicious and we were completely satisfied.

Unfortunately, there was not enough time, so it was not possible to order a full lunch, because I was traveling with a group. Fortunately, you can order to go: a crispy bun with a delicious shrimp filling. The only inconvenience is payment exclusively in cash. I wish the institution prosperity.

Very disappointed tonight. We reserved a table because we had such a delicious meal there on Wednesday. When we came the table wasn't free. Even though they don't open until 5:30 p.m., our table was already occupied. We had reserved for 6:30 p.m. For a double cast, one could have said in advance that a reservation is only possible from 5:30 p.m. or then only at 7:00 p.m. or 7:15 p.m. It's a shame, organization is different. We were very disappointed on our last evening in Quedlinburg. The food was very tasty the first time. We weren't able to do it a second time.😒

We were in Quedlinburg last weekend and spontaneously reserved a table in the Fischkate for Friday evening... and did everything right 😉! The food was great and the fish soup was really tasty 😋. The boss and her team are great, we immediately felt very comfortable in the cozy restaurant. We were passing through and were lucky to get the last two of the 20 places. It was a winter day and a bit drafty in this little cottage. The service, the service and the food were great. I recommend everyone to visit the Fischkate and if you are there, it would definitely be wise to make a reservation. We would like to come back.

Highly recommended, an insider tip for good food. Not noticeable from the outside and not big from the inside. But the food is delicious, freshly prepared and of good quality. The service was super friendly, even for those who were undecided. Here the customer is still king.

Fischkate is a restaurant I have no hesitation in recommending. The quality of the food and the service from the staff are excellent. With a small improvement in the insulation at the entrance the experience would be even more perfect. Definitely try it!

A small, cozy, maritime restaurant. Reservations are required. Great staff and the food is delicious. There aren't many dishes to choose from, but this is an absolute must for fish lovers. Meat is also available. There are children's dishes, and you can also order a senior citizen's menu, which is cheaper. A real insider tip for a feel-good experience.

We were thrilled! Our first time... Yesterday at lunchtime we were able to spontaneously spend wonderful hours here with perfect fish, wine and tea. The fish box filled up very quickly, you got to have a really nice conversation with the table next door because everyone immediately had the “tasty plate comparison” and then immediately realized that their stomachs were too small 😂! We had the wonderful zander and potato pancakes with shrimp and salmon - simply fantastic! Everything is very lovingly prepared, if you want to be spoiled for choice, this is the place for you. The “Fischkate” is small and yet elegant! A really good mix: authentic, large selection, also to go, fresh and definitely prepared with love. The boss and the staff were super friendly and very open-minded, we had a feeling of “coming home”! Of course, from our observation, there were also the hurried grumpy heads who ignored the fact that it could take longer than 2 minutes to place an order when the “shack” is full, including the outside area and queue at the fish counter! That's always a bit embarrassing for us... Finally, you can buy some delicious herring fillets for the journey home and then think about the fish cake when you get home! We enjoyed it tonight, that's why we're still so excited! Thanks to the team, hang in there, December is going to be stressful, we love you since yesterday! PS: Smokers also have fun outside, I had very nice conversations

The fish croft is always an experience for Quedlinburgers too. The food is very tasty and the visual aspect is not neglected either, because the eye eats with it. The prices are absolutely reasonable and the service is quick and impeccable.

We had reserved a table for Friday evening at 5:30 (not easy at all), but it worked for about two hours. We were the first guests in the restaurant and were greeted by the manager, who wasn't exactly polite. When we asked where we could leave our coats (mid-November), she said, "Scabs, hang them over the chair," "You can see there's no room here," "Boom, you can't welcome guests any better." Luckily, an extremely friendly and courteous waitress came along and made us forget everything. Now for the food, (Freshly caught fish 🤔) We had ordered the catch of the day and asked beforehand what it was, to which she replied, "I have no idea, I won't know until it's on the plate 🙈." Well, in short, we were presented with a frozen zander fillet as a fresh hake fillet (dry) on a truly delicious vegetable bed with fried potatoes. The (fresh)😉fish wasn't worth mentioning........! The menu is overpriced for many dishes. There are also restaurateurs who come to them 🙋 Not recommended for (fresh fish.)🤔🙈

I had a shrimp baguette to take away. It was fresh and tasted good. Gladly again - the ambience was also really cool and rustic. Next time we'll definitely sit down and look at the other dishes on the menu. Recommendation goes out.
