Oh, what a failure! Could have been so easy 😅 I ordered a Radeberger, plaice, potatoes 🥔 and salad. Please do everything WITHOUT fresh parsley 🌿. I just don't like it... After half an hour the fish WITH parsley, the potatoes WITH parsley and a Jever arrived… You can't go wrong!!! I then politely said goodbye and preferred to eat a currywurst in my hotel opposite 😅😅😅

Yesterday we had dinner here with 4 people. The dishes were very good. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired, unfriendly, grumpy, even when reserving a table by telephone. There was a tip when paying, but there was no thank you. What was going on, you wouldn't know it otherwise - it's a shame

Nie wieder.Die junge Chefin ist unfreundlich,kein Lächeln ,die Tische alle voll gestellt,obwohl nichts los.Das Essen für meinen Enkel war ungenießbar.Er ist Vegetarier und hatte keine große Auswahl.Tagiatelle mit Sahnesosse.Eigentlich kann man da nichts falsch machen.Aber mit Dill?Ekelhaft.Als Chefin hätte ich mir was überlegt.Da kam nichts.Definitiv nicht zu empfehlen👎🏾

My wife and I went to the Fischhaus Smutje in Papenburg. We sat outside. Friendly staff, great service, top value for money. We had the spruce plate with various fish. The fish was well tempered and was very tasty. We can happily recommend this store. Thank you for this great evening and the best fresh fish.

Leckeres Fischlokal. Wir sind spontan mit 4 Erwachsenen und 2 Kindern hier gewesen. Man hat sich super um die Bedürfnisse der Kleinen gekümmert! Der Fisch war ebenfalls sehr lecker. Leider waren nicht alle Speisen auf der Karte vorrätig.

Total failure in this restaurant. We wanted to order fish sandwiches from the menu. When we ordered at the table, our selection of fish was immediately reduced to just one. We (3 people) were able to cope with that and we each ordered two rolls with the fish that was available. After a short while the waitress came and pointed out to us that they only had one roll left in the restaurant. Unfortunately, it was no longer possible for us to stay and we left the restaurant speechless. This is not professional....... I probably can't and don't need to report more on this. So I only gave it two stars because the atmosphere looked pretty decent. For the ambience I give it 3* Unfortunately only 2* This is the most negative application I have ever submitted. Work on organization so that there are always enough ingredients. I'm sorry. Hopefully just a blip

Wenn dieses Restaurant dass Beste in Papenburg sein soll, dann frage ich mich, wie „gut“ die anderen sind? Wir hatten das „Smutje Menü“, den gegrillten Lachs und die Heiße Pfanne für 2 Personen bestellt. Nach einiger Zeit kam die Bedienung zurück und teilte mit, dass der Lachs aus gegangen ist. Bei der „Heißen Pfanne“ und beim „ Smutje-Menü“ haben wir auf den Lachs verzichtet. Als Alternative zum gegrillten Lachs wurde ein Hähnchen-Schnitzel bestellt. Nach kurzer Zeit kam die Servicekraft erneut zurück und teilte wiederum mit, dass auch diese Speise ausgegangen ist. Nun wurden die Bandnudeln bestellt. Nach einer akzeptablen Wartezeit kamen dann die Speisen. Die Bandnudeln waren sehr geschmacksneutral. Bei der heißen Pfanne waren die Salzkartoffen an Geschmacklosigkeit nicht zu überbieten. Die Portionsgrösse der Bratkartoffeln zum Smutje-Menü glich eher einer Kinderportion. Bei der Rechnung konnte man nicht feststellen, dass bei 3 Gerichten kein Lachs dabei war, es wurde der normale Preis berechnet. Wir waren wohl das 1. - und das letzte mal in diesem Lokal.

We have visited the Fischhaus Smutje several times and have always been equally impressed. For us, a visit on the way to a holiday in East Frisia or on the way back home is a must to get us in the mood for the holiday or to take some holiday feeling home with us. The maritime atmosphere with many ship models and the very tasty food - preferably fish dishes - make you feel like you're on holiday on the coast, even though it's still a few kilometers to drive there 😉 The service is attentive and very friendly, the food is served quickly and attractively. No matter whether in the snack bar or in the restaurant, you feel very welcome everywhere. However, this review refers exclusively to the snack bar, as we have not yet visited the restaurant to eat, just inspected it 😉 It is located separately in the same building with a passage to the snack bar. There is a separate menu with a slightly larger selection of higher-priced dishes. However, the snack bar with its smaller, slightly cheaper menu has always been absolutely sufficient for us, which is why we can only rate it. We recommend the Kibbelinge made from different types of fish, but everything else has always been very tasty. The fish comes fresh every day from Greetsiel and you can taste the freshness. 🅿️ It's right around the corner in the yard ♿ The restaurant and snack bar are on the ground floor, as is the small terrace with seating in front of the building. The entrance could be a bit cramped with a wheelchair, but doable. The toilets are also cramped. ➡️ Conclusion: The snack is fully recommended if you like fish and seafood, but meat lovers will also find what they are looking for here. Five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Hier gibt es die Weltbeste Currysuppe,und Fischsuppe. Und alle anderen Gerichte sind super lecker. Die Bedienung ist freundlich und nett. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Menu was tasty. Then the lady wiped half of the table and turned the dirty tablecloth upside down. The waitress should look for a new job that she enjoys. I just couldn't enjoy my fish after that! Sad but true!

My husband and I recently ate at Smutje, It was wonderful there, The facility was really great, the service there was super nice and friendly. The food there was a dream, super tasty and excellently prepared. We feel really comfortable there. This is how you like to eat like a sailor. It's really recommended.

Actually a cozy place. Unfortunately the heating was not set correctly and was therefore uncomfortable. The food in the photos was great but the preparation was disappointing. We had the "Hot Pan" for 2 people... 54.50€.. Fish was fried for too long and therefore dry... Vegetables were completely overcooked.. No spices on the dish and therefore no taste.. Well and fried potatoes.. A quintessentially German dish... Without bacon 🥓 and onions drowned in oil... We ate almost everything but only because we were extremely hungry... Criticism was only moderately received. Conclusion: unfortunately this dish cannot be recommended..

Today we were in the bistro of the fish restaurant Smutje in Papenburg. We had a menu with a fish soup with crab and salmon, which tasted very good. Extremely anti-social behavior on New Year's Eve, only the heaviest firecrackers were shot right at/in front of the restaurant, clearly part of it. Probably even illegal fireworks, so loud and dangerous. When you eat here you are supporting this, you should know that.

In the fish platter for two people, the spit-fried scampi was well-done and chewy. The rest of the fish was covered with lots of vegetables. I wouldn't order this record again.

We stayed in Papenburg for 2 nights and had delicious fish at Smutje. We took the mixed platter for 2 people with fried potatoes and were super impressed. The pan was beautifully prepared, very rich and most importantly, it was extremely tasty. So we can only recommend it. And if we're in the area again, we'd love to come back. Our Dalmatian was also allowed into the restaurant without any problems. Thank you for the delicious food and the really nice service.

Today at lunchtime we ate a fried fish roll in the bistro for 6.90 euros. The fish was tasty, the breading was well seasoned and crispy and the roll was fresh too. My husband also enjoyed the chilled beer 😀

Ich war heute mittag im Bistro und war etwas enttäuscht..Ich wollte Backfisch mit Kartoffelsalat essen, aber den Salat gab es nicht mehr. Also nahm ich Bratkartoffeln, diese waren frittiert und nicht gebraten. Ich hatte hinterher noch den Fettgeschmack im Mund. Der Fisch dagegen war sehr lecker mit selbstgemachter Remoulade. Ambiete sehr gemütlich, der Bedienung hätte ein Lächeln gut gestanden..

Das Smutje ist echt nett eingerichtet, sehr ansprechend. Das Personal ist recht freundlich. Zwischendurch aber sehr oft mit sich selbst beschäftigt. An der Theke wurde (in einer ausländischen Sprache) der Black-Friday diskutiert. Aus der Küche meldete sich eine Geräuschkulisse (ebenfalls in der ausländischen Sprache) eines Hühnerhofes gleich 🙈 (🐔) Getränke und Essen wurden recht zeitnah serviert, da gibt's nix zu melden. Das Essen ist eher Mittelmaß. Wer zu Hause selbst kocht, wird wissen, was ich meine. Richtig gut war das Pfannengemüse, echt lecker. Den Bratkartoffeln fehlte noch etwas Farbe. Die Scholle war ok, die Garnelen leider "tot gebraten". Mein Fazit: das Lokal kann man besuchen, man verpasst aber auch nichts, wenn man es sein lässt 🤷‍♀️

Gepflegtes Ambiente, sehr gutes Essen und das Personal nett wie man es sich wünscht. Danke für die schöne Zeit.

Wir haben die Meeresfrüchteplatte bestellt. Optisch echt super, geschmacklich ging so. Lachs war durchgebraten und verbrannt. Viele frittierte Fisch unter den frischen Meeresfrüchten. Dann lieber etwas weniger, anstatt vollpacken und frittierte Meeresfrüchte zu nehmen. Und 29€ für eine Person ist somit nicht nachvollziehbar. Wir können die Platte nicht empfehlen. Der Service nett und zuvorkommend.

Ein schöner kleiner Laden der einiges zu bieten hat. Von der detailreichen Einrichtung bis zum Essen war alles Top. Dazu kommt noch, dass der Service super freundlich ist und einen nie lange warten lässt. Ich persönlich kann diesen Laden sehr empfehlen.

Super Restaurant/Imbiss! Extrem gute Qualität und super gutes und freundliches Personal…. Echt das beste Fischrestaurant, was es hier gibt. Auch die Internetseite ist sehr gut gestaltet und aktuell. Auch mal eben für den schnellen Imbiss zu empfehlen (Fischbrötchen, Kibbeling oder Fischsuppe) Wir wissen, dass alles sehr gut und sauber zubereitet wird und wir kommen immer gerne wieder.
