Ferkulum in Köln

So, I ordered food from Wolt yesterday and immediately got stomach cramps. I spent the rest of the night on the toilet. The meat tasted strange, and my partner felt the same way.

Once Cologne's best gyros, it has declined somewhat over the years. But it's still a top spot for all night owls.

Best pita in town. I've been going there for over 40 years whenever I'm in Cologne.

The service has gotten even worse. Since the first review, it's only been halfway decent three times (way too late, cold, wrong delivery). Now nothing arrives at all, and they're keeping the money. As a customer, I'm starting to think of Ferkulum as a scammer. They take your money and don't deliver. Plain and simple! So, no more gyros after 11 PM on weekends. What can you do? It's hard to plan ahead. At least they called. I'm curious to see if they'll refund my money.

Whenever I visit Köln, the visit doesn't count if I didn't get gyros with pommes from Ferkulum.

This website really helped me. With the help of the missing socks report, I found my lost socks within three days. Highly recommended!

A nice place for a quick bite, but nothing special in terms of food or atmosphere. I paid €12 for a large gyro plate and was a little disappointed. The rice noodles I chose instead of fries were very oily, and the gyro meat was bland and extremely fatty. It wasn't terrible, but there's still a lot of room for improvement.

I ordered on wolt and the food was exactly what I expected. Good taste, fair prices and big portions. Would definitely order here again :)

I don't think I need to write much about this. See photo, tastes exactly as it looks. Two stars because I got my money back super quickly.

The location is very large and the prices are also very reasonable! There are a few counter-style seats, which adds to the charm. The gyro itself is good, but could have been spicier for my taste.

I can't understand all the bad reviews. Really good gyros, juicy and delicious, and the staff is really friendly. You definitely have to come here if you get the chance.

It used to be the best gyro in town, but unfortunately, shortly after taking over in 2023, the new owners switched to new, seemingly cheaper ingredients, changing pretty much everything about the originality and flavor that once made the place famous. I used to eat there 4-6 times a week. I've since given up...

The worst gyro I've ever ordered. Not a single crispy piece. The seasoning isn't even exciting at all. The food isn't even ready, and I'm ordering from somewhere else. I thought I'd give you another chance after two years. Well, it's my own fault. The worst gyro in Cologne, even though it used to be number one. Never, ever, ever again! (Gyro with fries and a bit of tzatziki on top, without onions).

Ordered via delivery service. Delivery was quick, but the flavor was rather bland. Tzatziki? Yogurt sauce, yes. Tried it, but not again.

Definitely the most delicious gyros. Friendly staff. Fresh salads. Everything was great.

How can someone be so incompetent? For the third time in a year, I'm sitting there waiting for my food... and waiting... and waiting... until I realize they've forgotten me! That can happen, but three times? And the place wasn't even full. Maybe they should put their phones down! Then they wouldn't have to wait five minutes every time they walk in for someone to come out of the kitchen. That was definitely the last time I was there.

The selection is small, but very tasty. Prices below average. The quality is excellent.

Even that is too much! Inedible! Fat hits through! Overpriced! Had to throw it away! Very disappointing compared to before!

Went there with 4 boys after our regular meeting. The bread was briefly warmed up in a microwave that was so dirty, that alone spoiled my appetite. Then I quickly grabbed everything I could from the skewer for 7 pitas (because three WOLT drivers were also picking up online orders). The taste went. On site I said: “Well, it’s a 5/10”. As soon as you get home, your stomach registers. I get hot/cold. Next day body aches/chills and everything that goes with it. 3 out of 4 boys were absolutely not feeling well after this little snack. I rarely if ever write reviews, but I just had to say something here. Hope this changes something.

I ordered it online, dry meat, fries, no taste, everything in a box so that everything doesn't taste good at all and for the money there isn't even a small salad in it. Sorry, I won't order from there anymore... disgusting...

It used to be a must, especially when you had to have something delicious to eat after party nights on the rings. Yesterday I gave the tip to my colleagues and we all ordered something. Unfortunately it wasn't what I expected. Tzatziki was a bit too mild for my taste, the meat wasn't crispy at all and the fries, well... My personal highlight, my compatriot with the 🇬🇷 HELLAS jacket. Absolutely unique and really very nice!! But I don't know if I'll ever order anything else from you.

It's the last time we ordered there. Gyros meat way too thin cut, making it hard and burnt. Unfortunately heard from several people recently. Bigger profit guaranteed.

Danger! Stay away from this store. Placed our order on a Monday afternoon, but still had to wait over an hour and a half. The gentleman on the phone sounded quite unfriendly. The two Gyros Pitas arrived at some point, but of course they were cold. The oil was already dripping out of the foil, the bread was very sparsely filled with meat and sour tzatziki with too much garlic, but no onions. Overall it was actually too greasy, but then we ate it and now regret it. Will definitely never order here again.

There are definitely a lot of gyros in Cologne. There may even be individual aspects that are better with others, e.g. tzatziki or the seating options. If you're looking for the best gyros in Cologne, you won't come across this shop. Anyone who understands the dish gyros will notice it immediately. Ferculum is gyros!

Delicious food and a heavenly tzatziki

Pretty good Gyros... The meat is crispy, bread and salads are pretty basic. Good servings and the price is average. Nice for a late night meal, not more, not less!

Food just like it was years ago when I was last here. There are four stars for the ambience because it is still the same as it was back then. The gyros are really tasty, a good basis for an evening with lots of beer.

It used to be quite good for greasy gyros, meat sometimes half raw, fries limp, salad, 3 canned beans with a bunch of mayo, but somehow you got it down. Today, some of the food is so old that it comes right back up and is more of a case for the health department.

The store has been around for 100 years and not without reason. The meat was crispy and juicy, the salad was fresh and crunchy. A large portion for the equivalent of 10 euros. Just the thing after a long night 😅 don't let the outside put you off 👍👍

It used to be worth 5 stars, but unfortunately I have to deduct almost all of them either the owner has changed or something else, but it hasn't been good for a long time. Was there for the last time today. Despite asking three times, I got something completely different instead of what I ordered and then the schnitzel isn't even cooked through, it's still raw. I can put it in the bin for €9, never ever, never again.

I'm disappointed! The gyros, i.e. the gyros pita, used to be a real treat. Unfortunately there is nothing left of it today. The meat is dry and not juicy, the whole pita is poorly rolled... You can (unfortunately) save yourself!

I ordered a Gyros Pita. Like other reviewers, my problem was that there was no onion, just the one found in the coleslaw. The bag only consisted of gyros, coleslaw and tzatziki - that's very meager for eight euros. The meat tasted good, the salad and tzatziki were okay. The pita bread was a bit too soft for me, has the consistency of a pancake, I don't know that from other Greeks. Pita bread needs to have some bite.

I've been eating at Ferkulum for 30 years. Criticism can also help you work on yourself and doesn't have to be negative. It might help restore the old glory. But after the last change of ownership, things are no longer the same. The quality of the meat is no longer that good. Greasy and gristly. The fries have also become thicker. I used to drive 30km one way every week to eat there. Service was nice. Ambiance wasn't the nicest but the counter was clean in the dining area. Such a perfect gyro stand doesn't need UBER EATS or Lieferando. Perhaps the quality has deteriorated due to the taxes.

Always worth a visit, don't be put off by the shop, best gyros in Cologne.👌😋👍

Gyros Pita was outstanding, huge and delicious

The worst gyros in the whole city and the unfriendly people from all over Cologne who work there. The sauces are a horror and the people who work there belong on the spit themselves. Go somewhere else if you want it to taste good.

Mein Lieblings Gyros Laden seit Jahrzehnten. Lebe nicht mehr in der Stadt, aber wenn ich mal vorbeikomme .. hatte fetten Kultstatus zuzeiten. Ambiente ist ähnlich wie Frittenbude aber eben .. siehe oben, Personal desgleichen und des Gyros war und ist für mich immer noch das Beste, was ich kenne (!) ..

Ich musste nochmal meine Bestellung checken, aber nein ich hatte kein Essen für meinen Hund bestellt. Es ist eine Katastrophe wie man so einen Frass, Menschen servieren kann. Selbst mein Hund weigerte sich zu fressen.

Das Schnitzel inkl. Panade war trocken, die Pommes total labbrig und dafür haben wir fast 2 Stunden gewartet. Als ich das Restaurant mehrfach kontaktieren wollte, um nach meiner Bestellung zu fragen, ist niemand ans Telefon gegangen. Absolute Frechheit.

Pita Gyros war kalt und in meinen Augen absolut nichts besonderes! Verstehe absolut nicht die extrem guten Bewertungen! Glaube all diese Leute haben, noch nie in Ihrem Leben einen wirklich richtig guten Gyros gegessen! Für mich der schlechter Gyros den ich seit langem gegessen habe!!! Einfach nur GRAUSAM Vor Jahren TOP heute absoluter FLOP Der jetzige Besitzer sollte sich ich echt einmal Gedanken machen ob er nicht den falschen Job hat! Den von guter Gastronomie (Imbiss) hat er absolut keine Ahnung! Einmal reicht. Muss man nicht unbedingt ein 2. Mal haben!

Vier Euro für eine "große" Portion Pommes, die offensichtlich in altem Fett frittiert wurde und dazu völlig versalzen. Dann lieber Falafel von gegenüber.

Gyros mit pommes für 10€?? Pommes sind gut, aber das Fleisch schwamm einfach nur in Öl. Für den Preis überhaupt nicht gerechtfertigt

Ganz ok, noch einmal würde ich nicht extra für das Gyros hinfahren. Das Brot wird in der Mikrowelle warm gemacht und hat daher das Aussehen und die Konsistenz von einem dieser dicken weichen amerikanischen Pfannkuchen. Das Fleisch ist, wie ein anderer Rezensent schon treffend formulierte, eher nichtssagend. Bei anderen Pita Gyros die ich kenne hat das Fleisch eine wirklich geschmackvolle Marinade. Hier leider nicht. Man wird satt, es erfüllt seinen Zweck, aber ein wirklich leckeres Pita Gyros muss man woanders suchen.

Richtig lecker das beste Gyros in Köln und Umgebung seit jahren

Einfach erstklassig! Spitzen Qualität - Gyros super knusprig, saftig und lecker gewürzt, hervorragender Krautsalat, Pommes perfekt, sehr gutes Zaziki, extrem schneller und freundlicher Service und dann noch ein riesen Portion! Ich habe mich kurz mit dem sehr netten Mann am Drehspieß unterhalten, er hat ungefähr dieselben Qualitätsvorstellungen wie ich. :-) Das Ganze hat dann auch bis 5 Uhr morgens geöffnet, ich weiß nicht woher da schlechte Bewertungen bekommen! Okay, das Ambiente ist nicht besonders, muss es aber auch nicht, ist schließlich ein Imbiss! Ganz klare Empfehlung! PS: Für alle Experten hier: Gyros MUSS fettig sein, wenn ihr nichts fettiges haben wollt, esst eine vegane Bowl!

Meine Bestellung wurde nicht richtig gemacht. Mach dem ich es gesagt haben, wurde der Mitarbeiter lauter . Ich habe meinen Auto Schlüssel kurz abgelegt um Geld raus zu holen und er hat ihn einfach genommen .! Ich kann diesen Laden nicht weiter empfehlen !!

Gestern eine Portion Gyros mit Tzatziki über wolt bestellt und sehr zufrieden gewesen. Vielleicht habe ich in einem Restaurant schon Mal etwas saftigeres Fleisch gegessen, aber für geliefert war es mehr als in Ordnung. Bestellt hatte ich gegen 18 Uhr, hatte vermutlich noch gutes Fleisch und nicht irgendwie den Rest am Spieß. Die Portion war auch riesig und so wie ich es erwartet hätte für 9,50. Es kam auch warm genug an. Tzatziki fand ich auch sehr lecker. Zwiebeln hatte ich extra ins Kommentarfeld geschrieben, ka ob es auch sonst so dabei gewesen wäre. Werde bestimmt noch Mal da bestellen!

Sehr schlechter Gyros erstens hatte ich keine Zwiebeln auf mein Gyros obwohl ich Zwiebeln bestellt hatte dazu hatte ich noch eine Lebensmittelvergiftung und dass schlimmste ich hatte eine Kakerlake im Mund gehabt ich verabscheure euren Laden und werde dafür sorgen dass ihr bald schließt Anzeige läuft !!

Das Ferkulum hat nach wie vor einen guten Ruf, also haben wir uns heute auf gutes Gyros festgelegt. Also aus Ossendorf zur Zülpicher und endlich mal das Ferkulum probieren. Nun, ich hätte es wohl besser vor Jahren tun sollen, das war heute vergeudetes Geld und Zeit. Gyros war nicht zäh oder besonders Fetig, eher "nichtssagend", war halt da. Tzaziki machte Geschmacklich ein wenig den Eindruck, seit dem Morgen ungekühlt in der Küche gestanden zu haben. Nicht sehr lecker, Konsistenz auch eher, Naja. Es ist wohl auch nicht bekannt, dass auf Gyros und Tzaziki unbedingt Zwiebeln gehören. Diese gibt's nur auf eindringlichen Sonderwunsch. Es ist ähnlich wie beim Guten (!) Italiener eine Pizza Hawaii zu bestellen... Der gemischte Salat bestand nur aus Gemüse in Sahne. Bohnen, Gurken, that's it. Und Krautsalat! Die 2 Sterne gibt es für das Weißkraut und die Pommes. Beides vollkommen in Ordnung.

Genau das was ich gebraucht habe. Alles top. Vom Bohnen- und Gurkensalat zur Pommes und zum Fleisch! Gerne wieder 🤌🏽

Sehr leckerer Gyros auch wenn ich den Raum in dem man stehend essen kann nicht so schön finde ;-) ein schneller, dafür aber sehr guter Gyros!!!

Das in Köln bekannteste Gyros gibt es im Ferkulum. Der bei Studenten und Nachtschwärmern beliebte Imbiss ist immer einen Besuch wert. Gyros war sehr gut gegrillt und die Portion mit den Fritten auch sehr groß. Diese Portion schafft nicht jeder. Hier muss ein Gyros-Liebhaber unbedingt mal hin.

Gyros, Pommes und Zaziki überragend. Gemischter Salat ist Geschmackssache, ich mag die Gerichte ausschließlich mit Krautsalat. Sowohl beim Verzehr vor Ort als auch beim liefern schmeckt alles super. Ambiente vor Ort ist eher eine 4/10 aber wir reden hier ja von einem Imbiss. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Leute 20 Euro mindestbestellwert?????, welcher singel kann denn bei euch für 20 Euro essen ?? Niemand mit normalem essverhalten . Und dann kommt noch der 1 Euro liefern dabei. Bin seid 25 Jahren Kunde bei euch gewesen, jetzt nicht mehr . Das ist abzocke

Bester Grieche in ganz Köln. Super leckeres und hochwertiges Gyros Fleisch. Und große Portion.

Tzaziki war sauer, konnte das komplette Gericht wegwerfen. Viel zu schade.
