Felix Austria in Berlin

I came here as I had read some good reviews online and love Austrian food. Unfortunately I was really disappointed. I reserved a table online, which I always do as a solo traveller as I find it less awkward to ask a busy restaurant to seat 1 person. The restaurant is in 2 parts - a cosy main restaurant and another restaurant next to the kitchen. I was shown to a table at the back of the second room literally immediately next to the kitchen. The room was smelly and there was loud music playing - the ambiance in the main restaurant appeared much nicer. Service was sub par and very inattentive. It didn’t seem to be a good option for a solo traveller. I had goulash as I had eaten schnitzel the day before. The taste was fine at best - though the meat was exceptionally tough and difficult to cut with the cutlery provided. Usually goulash melts in the mouth. I trekked across town to specifically come here and wouldn’t do so again.

Ordered from Wolt. 12/10. Delivered super safely, everything fresh and hot. And even the request for extra mustard was taken into account. Hammer. Side salad could have been delivered separately, but otherwise perfect

Great restaurant with a “home” feeling. Every dish tastes like homemade food. The schnitzels are delicious and huge, the potato salad is light and tasty. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing. Good service too.

Wonderful spot for a schnitzel! And you beat arrive hungry as their large schnitzel does not disappoint. The breading is beautifully crispy and well seasoned. I highly recommend you sit in their second (back) room. It is cozy and music from the kitchen is fantastic!

The service was great and quick. The food came after 10 minutes. Unfortunately the schnitzel tasted like old fat. The cheese spaetzle didn't convince us either and the Kaiserschmarren was very dry. Price is not justified. Overall the visit was a disappointment.

Vienna is far away from Berlin. The schnitzels are very large, but they don't taste like they come from a pan. The breading falls off and has a greasy aftertaste (burger king), the potato salad is straight out of a bucket and with mayo. So on the next train to Vienna.

The food looks stunning, but the taste is unfortunately bland and the steak was paper thin - we expected better. The service was nice, but the dessert arrived after 20 minutes. We waited longer for it than for the main course. The price is higher than it should be for such a meal.

Cosy place with decent portions and tasty food, I give it the 'Cleefy Two Thumbs Up' seal of approval.

Wow… This is the perfect place if you want to find a schnitzel that’s thinner than paper and is wrapped in a batter twice as thick without any recognisable taste. They proclaim to serve “Wiener Art”, but the only art in what was served what’s how thin they could batter the meat into non-existence. About the käsespätzle, if you want cheap sour cheese, a chewy bite and a profound absence of fried onions, you hit the goldmine. Be sure to experience unpleasant bowel movements in the evening. Not a fan. For a bill that amounts to three schnitzels and a käsespätzle, 130 euros would be better spent at a grocery store, charity and your favourite bar, cause it would be cheaper and better.

very good schnitzel restaurant in berlin, the only thing is we sat at a small room which has a seperate entrance. but there is a better room at the other part of the restaurant. the portion is huge!

I ended up reviewing the wrong restaurant the first time around. The Austria is also just a stone's throw away. Maybe I'll go there soon. In any case, apart from the Almdudler Spritz aperitif, Felix Austria doesn't have anything that would make me go there again. And I prefer to mix it at home. The service staff was unprofessional at best, the food was ok but nothing more. I personally found the atmosphere unpleasant. Too narrow and ramshackle. The prices are peppered and salted. Overall, a pretty unclear store that I didn't feel comfortable in.

Porzioni abbondanti Purtroppo il servizio è stato molto deludente/ la ragazza non era per niente gentile e alla fine quando abbiamo chiesto il Dolce ci ha detto che la cucina era chiusa. Da notare che nessuno ci ha avvisato e che ci ha fatto aspettare 20 prima di sparecchiare. Peccato

Pasé una noche en solitario en Berlín y parecía pintoresco y acogedor. Preguntó al camarero si había una mesa para uno - el restaurante parecía lleno, así que no era esperanzador. El camarero me dijo que no, sonrió, señaló un asiento en el bar y dijo 'siéntate en el bar', cosa que hice. Pedí cerveza austriaca oscura que era fuerte y bajó nadando. Pedí schnitzel Wiener que venía con la mejor ensalada de patatas que he probado - sin mayonesa y era ligeramente mostaza y afilada, y una ensalada de pepino que estaba encurtido y tenía un montón de eneldo mezclado a través de ella. We ate there for the first time yesterday. Unfortunately there was only space left in the "bistro" (3 tables), everything was very rustic, but the friendly service explained a few questions to us. Our schnitzel of veal and pork were very, very tasty and the potato salad was foreign to us, but very tasty. The spaetzle was also appetizing. Cucumber salad like grandma's. a pleasure!! the Kaiserschmarm was divine. Plum compote was very sweet. Price/performance ok. Kreuzberg has good prices, but fresh dishes are worth it. We'll be back next year and will try the apricot dumplings 😂

I've been here several times before but today, sorry, that didn't work at all. Table reserved for the long term and placed in the entrance area next to the door. Open-close etc, cold and uncomfortable. Next to a group who were talking and laughing so loudly that communication was not possible. Food OK, large portion but there was a lack of salt on the schnitzel. I was here last time!

Teknik müzede yarım gün geçirdikten sonra U7 ile çok hızlı gidebileceğimiz bir restoran aradık. Çevredekiler arasında en çok dikkatimi çeken restoran bu oldu. İyi ki öyle olmuş. Harika bir öğle yemeği yemeği yedik. Ben mekanı da çok beğendim. Sessiz ve sakin bir mekan, rahatça oturup dinlenebilirsiniz. Umarım tekrar gelebilirim.

This pearl in Berlin is always wonderful! Saturday afternoon on a late summer day with Wiener Schnitzel and Grüner Veltliner. The service is just lovely and attentive. You don't need anything more!

Habitación pequeña, antigua, con mesas al aire libre. Tenía un buen schnitzel (quizás no tan bueno como el lamentó Café Einstein Stammhaus, pero ¿qué es? ) y un riesling decente. No estoy seguro de qué hacer de la reciente revisión de 1 estrella, de un usuario que solo tiene una contribución. Their online reservation will put you to an outside table when it is 5C and 40km/h wind and not tell you. Staff was rude and condescending. The restaurant manger as soon as he realised what they did to us, turned around and left and didn’t take responsibility. The restaurant is small, stuffy, and the food is not great. Go to eat at Jolesch, it is a much better restaurant!

Hearty food. The food is good. Especially schnitzel and potato salad. The goulash meat is tender, the sauce dark and generous. Danger! Caraway is sometimes used in dark sauces. Not mine at all. The decor and atmosphere is rustic/vintage. Everything is very harmonious with the building structure (wooden floorboards).

Ritornata in questo locale dopo un quinquennio lo ritrovo sempre all'altezza dei ricordi e delle aspettative. La cotoletta servita è la migliore mai consumata. Il prezzo è onesto. Il servizio simpatico. La location, caratteristica, è semplice sia all'interno che all'esterno. Abbiamo consumato 5 piatti di cotolette (piccole che piccole non sono, semplicemente non sono doppie) con contorno di insalata di patate e cetrioli, birra ed acqua al prezzo di 116 euro totali. Una garanzia.

Die Atmosphäre (draussen) ist laut, Stühle unbequem, Personal schnell und sehr freundlich. Preise sind echt unverschämt. Bei €28,90 für Wiener Schnitzel noch €1,00 extra für Preiselbeeren zu berechnen ist schon sehr dreist und irgendwie unangenehm. Der Kaiserschmarrn für €12,90 war sehr trocken, der Zwetschgenröster dazu ein Witz. Die Getränkepreise sind auch ziemlich frech, und es gibt nicht einmal Bier vom Fass. Auf der Website heisst es, alle gängigen Kreditkarten werden akzeptiert. Amex wird nicht genommen, ein Grund mehr für uns, dieses Restaurant nicht mehr zu besuchen. Es gibt bessere Alternativen. Schade.

We came across Felix Austria by happy accident. We were looking for schnitzel in amongst all the Asian food restaurants in the area. They had one last table available outside. Right by the bike lane! Fun to watch people whizzing by. We had the small plate which was huge! Small plate = 1 huge schnitzel; main meal (normal size) = 2 schnitzels! So be hungry if you’re going for the main meal option. Either way, it was delicious. We shared strudel for desert which was really good. Service was great and price reasonable.

Foods were excellent, we ordered veal and goulash, they were great but they forgot to dessert after making us wait for 40 min and when we asked the waitress with the glasses , she sounded very condescending. Well , food were great but service was rather mediocre.

This is a legendary restaurant. I have never in my life had more hospitality in a restaurant while eating the best schnitzel in the world! I even went and met the chefs (who where super nice by the way).I genuinely cannot verbally explain how much I love this restaurant.

The food was delicious and the service was very good. Only the portion sizes were very different. We once had the cheese spaetzle and the beef goulash, neither of which left us full. Our companion had the Wiener Schnitzel, which was a lot in comparison.

We had the wiener schnitzel. Portions were large as previously reported. Even the small was a lt of veal. I had it with asparagus and there was a lot of asparagus. Unfortunately the breading came off my veal -- it was puffy as opposed to sticking to the meat. The cheese spaetzel were very good.

Der „Zwetschgenröster“ beim Kaiserschmarren entpuppt sich als mini-mini Portion. Insgesamt 2 Pflaumen, halbiert und in Kompottsauce. Viel zu wenig, um den Kaiserschnarren saftig und lecker zu ergänzen. Hier wird zuviel gespart.

Foods were alright. Schnitzel was good but the beef in goulash was too hard and too dry to eat. We sat outside for almost 15 minutes without service and had to come inside and ask to be served. Price was expensive but justified by the large portion.

Absolutely not recommended for a date. The food was great. The small Wiener Schnitzel was completely enough for us. The staff was average, not rude, but not very personal/welcoming either. Acoustics are catastrophic. At the next table there was a group who, in order to understand themselves, were getting louder and louder. Over time, the two of us were no longer able to talk. This happens when the host saves on the simplest sound absorbers and has high, smooth walls.

Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, schnitzel and asparagus came out a bit cold. Priced a bit high. 32 euros for the plate in picture.

*edit* Went from 5 to 3. I've been eating at Felix for many years . It used to be such a delicious place but its standard is decreasing. As it is not a cheap place, I would expect it to continue with the former high quality.

The Spätzle, Schnitzel and Apfelstrudel are delicious - although, to be honest, I find the prices considerably high. The atmosphere is pleasant and familiar, although the restaurant looks quite neglected (it would be much prettier if they painted the walls again, for example). However, I had a not at all pleasant experience, which left me with the feeling of not wanting to return: the waiter who served me tried to approach me in unprofessional terms - to put it in an extremely "polite" way -. This man had the nerve to ask me if I was single and what streets I lived on (without me showing any interest in him). But that's not all: he approached me and asked me those intimate questions literally when my boyfriend (who I had gone to dinner with!) went to the bathroom. I really hope this man doesn't continue working there. Maybe they should employ female waitresses, rather than men, or make sure the men behave in a minimally decent manner.

Simple done right. Traditional Austrian fare. Ordered the large schnitzel... wasn't disappointed.

Were there at around 3:30 p.m. and no greeting, no interest in giving us a card or any other recognizable service. I then asked if the kitchen was already open, which was answered in the affirmative, but nothing else happened. We then waited a moment, but since the service was still non-existent, we decided to eat somewhere else. It's a shame, but we won't go here again.

Schnitzel and Kaiserschmarrn… absolutely world class! Great recommendation for anyone who wants to feel like they are in Austria within the beautiful Bergmannkiez.

A somewhat winding but cozy restaurant with young, ambitious service staff. The food - Wiener Schnitzel - was exactly as it should be, as good as in Vienna, and the potato salad was also great. The (Asian-looking) waiter who served us was courteous, friendly, service-oriented, professional and good-looking. We will be back! Felix Austria can only be recommended.

An absolutely lovely meal! We enjoyed all of our food and basically licked our plates clean. The Spätzle was outstanding. We also really enjoyed the Gurkensalat and schnitzel. Don’t miss dessert!! Can’t wait to come back

Recht kleines österreichisches Restaurant. Immer Reservieren und wenn Sie mehr als 4 Personen sind sowieso. Der Service ist sehr aufmerksam. Sehr gutes Essen. Das Schnitzel reicht auch für zwei Personen.

Delicious schnitzel and wurst, huge portions, lovely intimate atmosphere! We went for late lunch around 15 and the restaurant was still very full, so keep that in mind and book a table when possible.

We were very disappointed that the store was so highly praised. No atmosphere, despite Christmas. A 2 hour time window isn't exactly generous either. The food was so-so. Here too we expected more. Price - performance underground. Addressed to the operators: You might also want to think about a thorough renovation. Should probably be included in mass processing. We had our table in the bistro. It was so cold there because the front door was constantly open due to the delivery services. We ourselves smelled like a chip shop after such a short stay 😆. Food as good as always. Been going here for years and I always found the service very friendly and efficient. But...Went here recently and ordered a 1L bottle of red wine from the menu...the wine came and it was 0,75L. When we asked the server, he just said, "oh yeah, we changed that". Sorry, but you have to tell people that the menu is incorrect before. Was a bit shady. The 0,75L bottle was the price of the 1L.

Das Goulash war sehr lecker, das Personal ist auch freundlich und die Atmosphäre ist auch toll. Aber... Die 'Marillenknödel' haben wenig mit Marillenknödel zu tun. Wenn's ein Topfenteig sein soll, dann muss der auch mit Topfen gemacht werden, die Füllung muss eine ganze Marille sein und kein unidentifizierbares Fruchtkompott, und dann sollten noch Butterbrösel dran und nicht einfach zerlassene Butter darüber gegossen und ein paar viel zu feine Brösel darüber gestreut werden. Sorry, aber die Marillenknödel sind ein epic fail. Liebe Grüße, der Marillenknödelsnob ;)

Wir hatten für eine Familienfeier reserviert, als wir pünktlich da waren, war kein Tisch frei, wir haben mehr als eine Viertelstunde am Bürgersteig gewartet, kein Wort der Entschuldigung, keine Kompensaton in Form eines Getränkes. Der Service ist völlig überfordert, man wartet auf jede Bestellung unglaublich lang. Wir haben für Hauptspeise und Dessert 2,5 Stunden gebraucht und das nur, weil wir mehrmals urgiert haben. Das Essen selber war gut, nicht über drüber, aber auch nicht schlecht. Österreichische Gastlichkeit geht anders!

schnitzel (kleine option) war top - erdäpfelsalat war mega - service super nett und entspannt - kaiserschmarren hätte für meinen geschmack etwas mehr butter vertragen können :) - alles in allem sehr zu empfehlen

Nach 3 anstrengenden Tagen auf der Messe war es im April (23.04.23) genau das Richtige! Das Lokal ist klein, man hat quasi direkt "Familienanschluss", aber ich habe die Atmosphäre geliebt und nette Berliner mit kleinen Kindern kennengelernt. Ach so, das Essen - einfach phantastisch! Nächstes Jahr auf jeden Fall wieder!

War hier schon öfter und find jedes Mal die Fahrt aus Klagenfurt eine Reise wert! Solch authentische Küche haben die bei mir zu Hause einfach nicht und wenn ich so darüber nachdenke, scheint mir auch dass ich doch einfach in Berlin bleiben sollte anstatt immer 14h mitm Auto her zu tuckern. Werd ich nochmal übergrübeln.

This is how an Austrian restaurant should be like. I ordered sausages and beer. It was just like how I expected it. Served with mustard and horseradish.

Leider gab es trotz Reservierung am Katzentisch im Nebeneingang keine Bedienung. Kein Wunder, dass sich bei den fettigen Küchendünsten niemand dahin traut. Wir sind nach 45min des Wartens gegangen. 100m weiter gibt es eine sehr gemütliche, freundliche und aufmerksame Alternative.

Im Gegensatz zu anderen Rezenzenten fand ich das Personal sehr nett, der Kaiserschmarrn, den ich gegessen habe, erinnerte mich aber an nichts von dem, was ich in österreichischen Restaurants genossen habe. Er war sehr schwer, und ich merke jetzt noch, wo genau er sich in meinem Darm befindet. Bemerkenswert ist, dass sehr viele Gäste da waren, auch aus dem Kiez. Vielleicht jabeich auch einfach nur das Falsche bestellt. Aber nix für Österreicher.

Abbiamo optato per la schnitzel “piccola” che poi cosi piccola non è! L’ho trovata molto gustosa, ben cotta. Viene servita con un’insalata di patate condite con una salsa molto buona. A parte, in un piattino, un’insalata di cetrioli. Il servizio è molto veloce e l’ambiente piccolo. Consiglio la prenotazione.

Es gibt sehr viel Schnitzel für's Geld

Ich dachte wir probieren es hier mal aus. Aber leider war das Personal mega unfreundlich und die Wartezeit war einfach nicht angemessen, da dafür zu wenig los war. Von den Preisen mal ganz ganz abgesehen war das Essen, alles andere wie schmackhaft. Vielleicht war unser Schnitzel nur von einem sehr sehr alten Kalb, man weiß es nicht, aber auch der Gurkensalat war völlig übersäuert. Als Vorspeise hatte ich mir das marinierte Hendel in Honig gegönnt, was auch leider ziemlich zäh war. Also kein Vergleich zu anderen Chicken Anbietern im Umkreis. Da ich nicht vorschnell urteilen wollte, hatte ich es jetzt drei mal in den letzten drei Monaten ausprobiert und war immer enttäuscht.

Sympathische aufmerksame Bedienung. Leckeres Essen. Gerne wieder.
