Feines19 in Dortmund

My wife and I wanted to try a new restaurant from our discount booklet on Remembrance Sunday. We spontaneously chose "Feines 19," but we didn't find it "fine" at all. We arrived around 4:30 p.m. as the waitstaff took a cigarette break outside. As we approached the door, a waiter opened it for us, followed us inside, and showed us to a table in the restaurant, which was about 30% full. After spending five minutes in front of an empty table, we were finally given the menus. When the waitress returned ten minutes later to take our order and saw my discount booklet on the table, she immediately said it wasn't valid because it was a public holiday. When I objected, she said that's what her tax advisor had told her. That statement alone was a ridiculously blatant lie, and we should have left. But since we were hungry, we decided to stay and ordered a dorado skewer with pepper sauce, salad, and fried potatoes. I would have preferred the skewer to have been placed on top of the sauce instead of being completely covered in it, but otherwise, it was okay. My wife opted for a Thai curry bowl. However, what was served was neither a Thai curry nor a bowl. It was overcooked rice in coconut milk with curry and shrimp. The dish lacked salt and any spiciness whatsoever. We definitely won't be returning.

Friendly, fast, and attentive service. The food was also served quickly, delicious, and plentiful. Prices are reasonable. They also offer a small lunch menu at affordable prices. We highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return.

My family and I are frequent visitors to Feines 19 and are very satisfied. They offer a wide selection of dishes (burgers, pasta, salads, tarte flambée, and desserts), and after trying everything, I noticed that fresh, high-quality ingredients are used in all of them, which is a big plus. I hope they continue to do so. I can definitely recommend this restaurant.

This has been one of my favorite restaurants for years. My favorite dish is the tagliatelle with truffles, paired with a good wine – what more could you want! The staff is warm and friendly, and the prices are reasonable. I always enjoy coming back!

The café looks inviting at first glance: friendly service and functional furnishings create a generally comfortable atmosphere. Unfortunately, I can't recommend the coffee. While it was hot and had a crema, it lacked aroma and tasted rather watery. For the quality, I found the price far too high. It's a shame, because the atmosphere and the staff had the potential to make a much better overall impression.

Came here on a Thursday night with mt girlfriend for the xxl schnitzel. I would recommend booking a table beforehand because it was quite full when we arrived. The service was very kind and welcoming and we didn't wait too long for the food and drinks, despite it being quite busy. I got the xxl schnitzel and my girlfriend got the xxl burger. I'll tell you now, for those prices you can't really go wrong but the food was great. We had a great experience and would definitely come again.

Our gourmet block was rejected because we didn't show it right at the beginning. We haven't had a problem anywhere so far. Too bad… we definitely won't be coming back.

The food was excellent and really good value for lunch. Schnitzel with chanterelles, mushrooms, and cream sauce, plus fries, for just €10.50, definitely didn't skimp on the quality or portion size. The lemon was very large, so it wouldn't give the wrong impression.

The lunch menu changes regularly and is always worth a little trip – fresh, delicious, and prepared with love. The prices are fair and absolutely reasonable. The friendliness and warm hospitality of the staff (especially N. 😉) deserves special mention – it makes every visit even more enjoyable. Another highlight is the outdoor seating: slightly elevated under shady trees, with a wonderful view of Hombruch's market square. Perfect for watching and enjoying the hustle and bustle in good weather. The bottom line: Whether morning, lunch, or evening – everything is just perfect here. We'll definitely be back.

We were at feines19 last night to celebrate a birthday in a lovely atmosphere and with excellent food, and it was a complete success. Our table was beautifully set, and the warm welcome was truly wonderful. The location, the food, and all the drinks were perfect for all ten people. We highly recommend feines19; everything was perfect. Please keep up the good work.

Yes, there are different prices, and lunch menus range from 10 to 15 euros, and dinner menus range from 19 to 30 euros. Keep that in mind.

I rarely criticize. You can spend a pleasant evening at Feines, and the service is friendly – ​​if you don't expect anything more. I had coffee and cake there. The cake was delicious and fresh, but the cappuccino was a bit expensive for its size. It was delicious and tasty. I was there at lunchtime, so it was a bit noisy, but that's not a negative. It was just the wrong time for me.

We ate at this restaurant for the first time today and opted for the burgers – specifically, the mildly spicy chicken burger, including fries and salad for €18.50. We started with two baguette slices with a dip that tasted strongly like simple tartar sauce – unfortunately, nothing special. Our expectations were accordingly high, but the entire menu fell short. On the positive side, we didn't have to wait long for our food – the service was prompt and friendly, even if they didn't really respond to eye contact or gestures. The salad was completely drenched in vinegar, making it barely edible. The fries were reminiscent of classic beach fries – which isn't bad in itself, but for that price, we would have expected more refinement. Furthermore, the mayo was served in pre-packaged portion bags instead of lovingly arranged next to the fries – that would have significantly improved the overall experience. The burger itself was unfortunately disappointing: Instead of a proper patty, the meat consisted of 3-4 long pieces of chicken that didn't even cover the entire burger. The meat tasted dry and lacked seasoning. Overall, the burger was more reminiscent of a convenience store. It was topped with just some lettuce, cucumber, tomato, and sauce – it lacked that certain something. Our seat was right next to stored crates of drinks, which also dampened the atmosphere. You get the impression that the restaurant's focus is probably not on burgers – which is absolutely fine. But if you offer a dish and charge a hefty price for it, it should be prepared with the same care and quality as the rest of the menu. Conclusion: For €18.50, we expected significantly more – both in terms of taste and presentation. It's a shame, because the concept has potential, but it currently lacks attention to detail and genuine quality.

When we got there they said they had made a mistake and it wasn't valid. After a little discussion, an exception was made - very nice. The waitresses were all nice and polite. I haven't been this disgusted in a long time. First I get a spoiled tuna cream on the mixed starter plate, then the plate is taken back, everything is put on a new plate, the cream was just replaced and the biscuit with the coffee was obviously already with another coffee. But I was allowed to pay for everything and was given a ridiculous excuse. Let's see if I've ruined my margin too. Absolute disaster.

Nice restaurant, found it via the entry in the Schlemmer Block. And although we called twice beforehand to see if there were any problems with the voucher, as there were some negative things written about it in Google reviews, we were assured that we were welcome to use the block. Well, we were taught better when it came to paying. Apparently this is no longer valid, we should have pointed this out beforehand, etc. Ultimately, the cellar accepted the voucher, but beforehand there had to be a wild discussion about it (probably in Italian) with another service person. Of course we felt like supplicants. The Schlemmer Block is a nice idea to try out new restaurants and of course not to want to eat cheaply at the expense of the restaurant. It's a shame, the restaurant will never attract new guests.

We were there in a group and had breakfast. Vegans were announced when making the reservation. The vegan breakfast was disappointing, with raw vegetables, guacamole and jam. The honey and the scrambled eggs offered were of course rejected. So there is definitely still room for improvement.

Yesterday the four of us reserved a table there. The restaurant is offered in the Schlemmerblock, and we planned to use this voucher there too. The waitress came to take the order and saw that the book was on the table. After that she just threw "Oh Schlemmerblock, we're in trouble with that" and left. Afterwards she came back - on the phone - and threw us "WITHOUT WORDS" 2 pieces of paper on the table and left. The note said that the restaurant had terminated the contract with the Schlemmerblock voucher book on December 24th. Since it didn't seem like she would ever come back, we got dressed, just told her politely that it was impossible to treat guests like that, and left. We have NEVER experienced anything like this!!! That was a clear eviction. Simply impossible and inhumane. She could have explained it to us normally and not treated us like dirt, then we would certainly have eaten there without a book. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!! THE VERY LAST THING!!!!!!

Came today with four people with our voucher book (Schlemmerblock) When ordering drinks, the waitress saw our voucher book. He then immediately ran away from our table and came back after about 3 minutes and threw a note on the table without comment. It said that the contract with the provider had been canceled three weeks ago. We had reserved 3 days in advance, no communication from the restaurant. We have never experienced such treatment in a restaurant (with or without a voucher book). We felt like third class people. That's not how you treat people. Can't recommend

I asked by email whether it was possible to eat with Schlemmerblock on Friday evening. I then received a call back on January 11th, 2025, where an employee confirmed this and said literally, "no problem, you are welcome to come today When we arrive at the restaurant, we get the answer that Feines 19 no longer accepts guests with a gourmet block. Why do I ask about this in advance by email? Thanks for nothing. Very bad service. Not worth a star

Were there on January 4th, 2025 with a total of 4 people, we had 2 voucher books and were served very nicely and courteously, both by the manager and the employees! Had breakfast and got a great cake stand with scrambled eggs, cereal, sausage and cheese, honey and jam, all very tastefully prepared! There were also 4 rolls for 2 people and a hot drink that you could choose! We were definitely not there for the last time and can only warmly recommend Feines19!

We meet friends here for breakfast at irregular intervals and are thrilled every time. Super nice waitresses with their hearts in the right place and always a good saying on their lips. Our premium breakfast is served for two people on a cake stand with three plates. From ham, salami, sausage and cheese to jam, honey, muesli, scrambled eggs and even a glass of sparkling wine 🥂 or orange juice, everything is there to really fill you up. Outside in the summer, inside in the cold season - always an experience. Thanks everyone and see you next time. 😘

We organized a birthday breakfast there for about 15 people last Saturday (August 31st). The unanimous verdict from all guests: Top! Everything was prepared according to our wishes. The staff was very attentive and always friendly! The food is fresh and very tasty. Overall successful and highly recommended! There is also barrier-free access. A big compliment and thank you!

The champion sauce, however, is terribly bad. 🤮 It is recommended to order the sauces separately. The toilets are clean, but in the basement. Credit card payment possible.

There were three of us and we wanted to start a nice Saturday lunch and decided to eat in this restaurant. All 3 dishes were of lower quality. It's a shame because it wasn't cheap and no one liked it. Unfortunately we will no longer be visiting this restaurant.
