Fegefeuer in Münster

Man hatte uns zunächst vergessen - als wir uns schließlich bemerkbar machten, die beiden super sympathischen Bedienungen sich vielmals entschuldigten, konnten wir das ungewöhnliche Restaurant - Außen total unscheinbar, innen urgemütlich - absolut genießen. Als Verganer waren wir überrascht über das wirklich tolle Essen, super lecker und sehr schön angerichtet. Für die anfängliche Verzögerung wurde uns noch ein Schnaps kostenlos ausgeschenkt! Vielen Dank an das Fegefeuer-Team für den gelungenen Abend.

Rustikales Restaurant mit ein bißchen Mittelalterflair. Innen sehr gemütlich, es gibt auch einen kleinen netten Innenhof . Speisekarte von " ich will Fleisch " bis zu absolut empfehlenswerten vegetarisch/ veganen Gerichten. Sehr kreative, leckere Gerichte. Ebenfalls leckeres Bier vom Fass, auch hier immer was Besonderes. ( Erdbeerbier) Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir haben köstlich gegessen und den hervorragenden Service sehr genossen. Wir können dieses Restaurant wärmstens empfehlen. Die Gerichte sind überraschend, originell und sehr schmackhaft. Die empfohlenen Weine und Biere passen hervorragend dazu.

Das Fegefeuer kann ich absolut empfehlen! Cooles Ambiente, leckeres Bier und sehr gutes Essen. Dazu ein Service, den man heutzutage suchen muss. Trotz geschlossener Küche noch ein ausgesprochen leckeres Topfbrot bekommen (danke an die Küche!!!). Wir sind leider nur eine Woche in Münster, aber hier kommen wir garantiert gern wieder!

Ich kann mich den positiven Rezensionen nur anschließen. Da ich nur wenig Hunger hatte wurde mir angeboten, dass es von den Gerichten auch problemlos halbe Portionen gibt. Absolut nicht selbstverständlich.

Ein cooles und etwas ausgefallenes (mittelalterliches) Restaurant. Ausgefallen wegen des mittelalterlichen Stils...man trinkt u.a. aus Tonkrügen. Die Speisen haben Namen wie Rüdiger, Scheiterhaufen, Flötotto, Hühneraugen, Schabubga, Zugast, Portobello, schwabenländle u.v.m. Es gibt auch ausgefallene Getränke. Besucht die Onlinekarte. Wir waren mit 10 Radlern dort. Am besten reservieren und die Speisen vorbestellen. Das Personal ist lustig und Nachbar, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Von aussen ist es unscheinbar und sieht wie eine Kneipe aus, innen ist es liebe- und phantasievoll gestaltet.

Ich liebs einfach jedesmal dort. Das Essen ist jedesmal sehr gut und außergewöhnlich! Kombinationen die man so selten (nirgends?) findet. Preislich intensiv aber mir jeden Cent wert, weil es eben nicht Mal eben daheim gekocht ist. Außerdem mag ich den Umgang des Teams miteinander und auch mit den Gästen.

Wir können wirklich (unübertrieben) nicht anders, als 5/5 Sterne zu geben. Service hat für uns einen mindestens genauso hohen Stellenwert wie das Essen selbst und das war über dem Maße gut! Wir haben uns so wohl gefühlt, haben viel gelacht und einen kurzen kleinen Deep Talk mit dem Kellner geführt. Absolut authentisch und nah und persönlich. Wir werden wiederkommen!

Das Essen war sehr lecker. Kreative Gerichte und auf Anfrage konnte ein Gericht angepasst werden. Insgesamt ein schöner Restaurant Besuch den man gerne weiterempfiehlt.

Waren über Pfingsten dort. Die lockere und urige Atmosphäre hat uns gut gefallen. Weil wir mit Rollstuhl unterwegs sind, haben wir vorher reserviert. Unser Tisch war klein, bot aber genug Platz für den Rolli. Die Bedienung war stets freundlich und schnell im Service. Zum Essen: Die Vorspeise war schon überraschend, da wir ein frisch gebackenenes kleines Brot im Tontopf serviert bekamen. Die Größe war für unseren Appetit jedoch zu üppig. Da sollte man nur mit mehreren Personen zugreifen. Bei den Hauptspeisen haben wir aus dem vegetarischen Angebot zwei Gerichte ausgewählt. Optisch und geschmacklich sehr ansprechend. Danach waren wir pappsatt. Ein Dessert ist nur für Heißhungrige noch machbar. Fazit: Für Menschen mit viel Appetit, Fleisch gerne essen, aber auch vegetarisch lecker essen möchten, ist das Fegefeuer eine Empfehlung!

Gibt nichts zu bemängeln. Mir hat die etwas unkonventionelle Art zu Kellnern sehr gut gefallen, da es super authentisch war. Das Essen war auch sehr lecker und mit viel Liebe zubereitet.

Das Personal ist Kellner und Entertainment in einer Person. Und das Essen, das Essen war wirklich spitzen Klasse. Das Fegefeuer ist eine 10 von 10. Wir kommen garantiert wieder.

Immer gerne. Abwechslungsreiche Küche - lecker. Ist zwar etwas dunkel im Laden - das bringt aber erst die richtige Atmosphäre. Als Bier ist Schwarzer Abt zu empfehlen.

Ein wunderbares Restaurant mit ausgefallenen Gerichten, rustikaler Deko und gemütlicher Atmosphäre. Der Service war sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und humorvoll. Es gibt sowohl etwas für den omnivoren, vegetarischen und veganen Geschmack. Die Gerichte sind eher höherpreisig, aber ein Besuch lohnt sich aufgrund der Qualität des Essens und der Gastfreundschaft allemal. Meine wärmste Empfehlung!

Wer in Münster mal was anderes als 08/15 sucht, sollte unbedingt ins Fegefeuer. Das Restaurant ist einfach rundum gelungen: super Ambiente mit unzähligen Details – in jeder Ecke gibt’s was zu entdecken (teilweise herrlich gruselig 😄). Man merkt sofort, wie viel Liebe hier drin steckt. Der Service? Einfach top! Die Kellner sind extrem gastorientiert, kennen ihre Produkte in- und auswendig und bringen das Ganze mit einer guten Portion Humor rüber. Die lockeren Sprüche sind legendär – und ja, Diskussionen gewinnt man gegen die Jungs sowieso nicht. Aber genau das macht den Charme aus! Dazu kommt leckeres Bier und richtig gutes Essen – von Snacks bis zu vollwertigen Gerichten alles dabei und absolut empfehlenswert. Fazit: Ein Erlebnis, nicht nur ein Restaurantbesuch. Wir waren an einem Samstagabend dort. Das Lokal war gut besucht. Bereits bei der Begrüßung erkennt man das Konzept des Restaurants. Das Personal hat immer einen flotten, lustigen Spruch auf den Lippen und hat bei uns für sehr viele Lacher und sehr gute Laune gesorgt. Sowohl die Vorspeise als auch die Hauptspeise waren sehr lecker. Interessante Kombinationen, die ich so bisher noch nicht gegessen habe! Zudem kann das Personal sehr professionell zu den Getränken beraten. Alles in allem waren wir vom Essen, dem Personal und dem Ambiente begeistert und wir hatten einen schönen Abend.

Leider können wir das Essen nicht bewerten,da wir auf den Samstagabend ohne Reservierung keinen Platz bekommen haben. Aber der Wirt hat uns trotzdem freundlich und zuvorkommend behandelt und uns eine tolle Empfehlung fürs Abendessen gemacht. Im Mangal Grill sind wir voll auf unsere Kosten gekommen und versuchen es vielleicht irgendwann nochmal mit einer Reservierung im Fegefeuer.

Leider nicht gut organisiert, sodass es zu vermeidbar langen Wartezeiten kommt.

Wir waren mit einer Hochzeitsgesellschaft dort. Sehr ausgefallen, aber urig. Hat ein bisschen etwas von Spukschloss,Halloween und Hafenkneipe. Ich war als Gast zufrieden. Nur leider ist die Parkplatzsuche mühselig, da man erst einmal Parkmöglichkeiten finden muss, die länger als 0.00 Uhr erreichbar sind. Das Fegefeuer hat keine eigenen Parkplätze.

Sehr angenehme Atmosphäre, zu empfehlen in Gesellschaft, das Ambiente regt einen an, sehr viel spaßige Konversationen zu haben. Das Ambiente würde ich als mittelalter-fantasy-larp-kneipen ähnlich beschreiben. Wir haben uns sehr angenehm gefühlt, hatten sehr nette Bedienung, und es hat sich fast schon familiär angefühlt, sehr freundlich, und man konnte fast mit der Bedienung miteinander scherzen. Die Kommunikation war toll, wenn auch auf beiden Seiten gleichermaßen chaotisch. Ich hatte Njörd, Lachs mit Kartoffelpüree mit Meerrettich, Limettenmousse und Fenchel. Einziger Makel für mich persönlich war, dass ich bemerkt habe, dass ich kein Fan davon war, dass die Mousse andere Temperatur (logischerweise) als der Rest hatte, aber geschmacklich toll, und das ist ein textural Problem meinerseits. Werde wiederkommen und mir das Spätzlegericht mit dem Spieß und den Speck-datteln und dem Zucker-honeycomb bestellen 👍👍. In letztere beide habe ich mich verliebt als ich die von meinen Freunden probieren durfte. Und werde sicher noch viele andere Gerichte probieren, klang vieles lecker! Wir brauchten keine Reservierung, es war auch sehr ruhig (außer vielleicht manchmal wir, entschuldigt, wir hatten zu viel Spaß unseriöse Gespräche zu führen) und vieles frei. Wir waren Sonntag Abend 18:30 etwa dort, zu viert.

Gestern waren wir zum ersten Mal im „Neuen“ Fegefeuer. Wir waren überrascht wie schön es geworden ist. Mit viel Liebe wurde es eingerichtet und man entdeckt in jeder Ecke spannende Details die zum Thema passen. Eine Reservierung ist grundsätzlich vorteilhaft, weil es immer recht voll ist. Das geht zügig und freundlich per Mail. Beim Essen sind wir etwas zwiegespalten. Es war lecker und die Gerichte sind schon recht anspruchsvoll. Hier wird viel experimentiert und wild kombiniert. Das macht Laune. Allerdings war mein Rotkohl sehr sehr grob geschnitten, nicht wirklich durch und die Nelken sollte man vor dem servieren rausnehmen. Dadrauf zu beißen versaut einem das beste Essen. Im Großen und Ganzen aber lecker. Hier bedient der Chef auch noch selbst und die Jungs (bei uns waren es nur Jungs) sind in ihrer Rhetorik sehr nett aber speziell. Macht echt Spaß. Wir werden garantiert wieder kommen und dann werde ich mehr von dem leckeren Bier genießen.

Ich war noch nie dort, aber was für ein Genuss! Dieses Restaurant bietet wirklich alle Aromen der deutschen Küche. Die Spätzle, das Fleisch und die Soßen (unbedingt extra Soße bestellen 😂) sind einfach köstlich, und das Gemüse und die Kartoffeln gibt es in einer wunderbaren Vielfalt an Geschmacksrichtungen. Süß, süß-sauer, mit echter Bratensoße oder wunderbar zartes Fleisch mit köstlich zubereiteten grünen Bohnen und Kartoffelpüree. Absolut empfehlenswert, wenn Sie in Münster sind. Und dann ist da noch die Atmosphäre im Restaurant, und vor allem der Service. Der Service hätte nicht besser sein können. Sehr persönlich, humorvoll, gemütlich und dazu noch schnell. Und eine wundervolle Atmosphäre mit all den mittelalterlichen Elementen. Wie gesagt, ein Restaurant in Münster, das einen Besuch wert ist.

Maximal sympathisches Restaurant mit liebevoller Gestaltung des Raumes und der Gerichte. Hier gibt es wirklich (!) wilde Kombinationen, hervorragende vegane Gerichte und mit eines der leckersten Kellerbiere die ich kenne. Das Personal ist goldig und fragte uns am Ende noch ob es ok wäre Babymetal-Style Musik laufen zu lassen (wir waren die letzten). Erwähnte ich sympathisch?

Bin per Zufall im Urlaub auf dem Weg zu einem Konzert, hier rein gestolpert. Hab (ohne Reservierung) noch nen kleinen Tisch erhalten für ne Stunde. Einmaliges Ambiente, tolle herb-herzliche Bedienung, leckere Getränke und Rüdiger war extra Zart! Wenn ich mal wieder aus der Schweiz hier Lande, schleppe ich nen paar Kumpels hier rein!

Wer mal in einem besonderen, rustikalen und mittelalterlichem Ambiente essen gehen möchte, dem empfehle ich das Restaurant Fegefeuer. Sehr cooles Personal mit witzigen Sprüchen auf Lager. Sehr leckeres Essen nicht günstig, aber angemessen gegenüber der Qualität die man bekommt. Kann ich wärmstens empfehlen.

We traveled from Friesland with a group of six to attend a concert in Münster and had an absolutely fantastic evening at Fegefeuer! We send our warmest greetings from the north! First things first: The service is incredibly funny and friendly. You can tell they put their heart and soul into it – we had so much fun and stayed much longer than planned because the atmosphere was so warm and entertaining. You immediately feel at ease. Regarding the process: Since we were a bit pressed for time to get to the concert on time, I sent our order for six people by email the day before. This wasn't a problem at all; the communication was excellent, and our dishes arrived incredibly quickly. We practically didn't have to wait – superb service! Food & Atmosphere: The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the value for money was outstanding. The rustic ambiance is cozy and atmospheric. ... In conclusion: Fegefeuer is a real highlight in Münster! For us, it was the perfect start to a great evening. We'll definitely be back!

It was, as always, super and super delicious.

I can only rate the food as average at best, and for that, it's simply too expensive. The Spätzle were a bit overcooked, and the bowl of mushy potato wedges had a curious seasoning. The Hokkaido pumpkin medley was firm to the bite, but the skin was hard. Yes, you can eat the skin of this pumpkin, but please, not woody! The meat platter was plentiful and varied, but the chicken had flabby skin and the roast had too much fat. The ribs were okay, the schnitzel a bit dry, and the duck was very tasty but not juicy. For the price per person, you expect more! The ambiance is rustic, curiously medieval, but with completely inappropriate music. It doesn't really matter, though, because when the place is full, it's so loud you have to shout at each other. Conversations are difficult. The restaurant is also quite cramped when it's full. You have to be comfortable snuggling up with your companions and keeping your arms close while you eat. Not really my thing. Attentive, fast, charmingly gruff service with a fun factor! Top marks! If you don't like this kind of service: wrong place! We absolutely loved it! Simply brilliant! 💖 Did I enjoy the evening? Overall, yes! Would I personally come back? Not necessarily. Lovingly decorated inn with a medieval flair. Numerous, sometimes macabre, themed accessories. Centrally located in Münster with an inner courtyard. Delicious food with generous portions, served with style. Our dog was warmly welcomed.

For me, this restaurant is second to none. The setting and service are fantastic. The food is incredibly delicious and a bit unusual. The ambiance fits the concept perfectly. For us, it was a wonderful, very surprising, and fun evening there on Sunday, and the perfect end to a wonderful day. The trip from the Bergisches Land region was also worth it.

The shop is truly unique! The decor alone is something truly special and immediately sets the right mood. I particularly liked the original touches like mead and beer, served in authentic clay jugs. You can just tell that someone put a lot of thought into creating a coherent and unusual concept. Just reading the menu and drinks was a real laugh! ...and the food itself was absolutely delicious! A bit off the beaten track, the whole evening was a delight. If we're ever in Münster again, Purgatory is a definite "must."

We stopped in briefly with a few friends, just wanted to have a few beers and move on. We got a seat even without a reservation; the staff were very nice, friendly, and quick 😀. Very quaint and cozy. We would have preferred to stay longer, but we had other plans.

It was our first time at Purgatory, and we quickly realized it wouldn't be our last 😊 The service was very competent and entertaining; we laughed a lot throughout the evening. The food and drinks were served promptly and were beyond reproach, the portions were generous, and we all enjoyed the food. There's a wide selection of beer, mead, schnapps, and wine; the dishes are exceptional and lovingly prepared, and there are also many vegan alternatives. I'm already looking forward to the next time!

A very authentic medieval ambiance, with appropriate drinks and tableware. The food is still homely and regional, with local specialties. The names of the dishes are well chosen and uplifting.

It's a different kind of restaurant. Very tasty, and the staff are great. If you like medieval food, this is the place for you.

We had reserved a table. The restaurant is so interestingly decorated, there's really a lot to discover. The food was incredibly delicious, and the portions were certainly not small. Some of the drinks were exceptional, so it's nice to try something new. The service is really good. The staff is very friendly and fun, and you immediately feel like you've been there many times before. If we come back to Münster, we'll go back. It's not cheap, but it's great.
