Farmer & Lou in München

Es war brechend voll, aber die Bedienung war super freundlich und hat uns Plätze freigemacht. Vom Salat über den Lachs bis zum Schnitzel – alles war köstlich. Frisches Gemüse, Obst, Brot und Fisch. Lecker! Der Tee war auch sehr gut, eher wie ein fruchtiger Punsch. Ungefähr 30 Euro pro Person.

Wir hatten ein wunderbares Erlebnis im Farmer and Lou. Louisa war überaus herzlich, und das Essen sowie der Service waren fabelhaft. Wir würden jederzeit gerne wiederkommen – wegen der Atmosphäre, des Essens und des Services.

Wir waren Gast als Teil einer Hochzeitsgesellschaft. Das ganze Team war von Anfang bis Ende sehr aufmerksam, angenehm und freundlich. Das Essen war sehr gut. Selbst unsere Kleinen haben durchgehend alles aufgegessen. Das Ambiente Innen ist sehr klein und fein mit lieben Details. Dank des Aussenbereichs hatten die gut 40 Leute bei dem guten Wetter alle Platz und könnten es sehr genießen. Danke für die Bewirtung und den tollen Abend.

Wir sassen an einem lauen Sommerabend draussen. Service ist absolut auf Zack und superfreundlich. Preise bodenständig und das Essen sehr gut. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und kommen wieder.

Ich durfte gestern meinen Geburtstag im Farmer&Lou feiern und hab mich vom ersten Telefonat bis gestern Abend zum Abschied sehr sehr wohl und gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Abend als Gruppe und das Essen war fantastisch! Ich werde sicherlich wieder kommen und kann das kleine, feine Lokal jedem wärmstens empfehlen! Das ist mein absolutes Lieblingslokal bei meinen München-Besuchen. Das Essen und der Service sind fantastisch. Ich werde immer sofort freundlich begrüßt. Ich habe auch schon einige Kollegen mitgebracht. Sie alle schwärmen von dem hausgemachten Essen. Ich freue mich schon auf meinen nächsten Besuch.

Wir waren hier zu dritt mit unserer kleinen Tochter abends essen und es war vom ersten Moment bis zum Schluss ein wunderschöner Abend. Sehr sehr freundlich, unfassbar lecker und liebevoll gestaltet. Uns hat es allen sehr sehr gefallen. Danke

Sehr schönes kleines Restaurant mit super nettem Personal und wirklich gutem Essen. Man sollte jedoch bestenfalls vorher reservieren - wir hatten Glück und es war genau passend ein Tisch für zwei frei :) Der Service ist schnell, das Essen kam auch zusammen und der Abend war top 😊 Einziger Negativpunkt wäre vielleicht die Lautstärke wenn viel los ist, aber auch das war absolut in Ordnung.

Bolognese oder Carbonara? Sie machen es einem nicht leicht. Ich mag die Basics! Und hier sind sie wahnsinnig lecker!

Selten habe ich mich in einem Restaurant so wohl und willkommen gefühlt. Es ist der Inbegriff dessen, was man sich unter einem herzlichen, unaufgeregten Lieblingslokal vorstellt. Schon beim Betreten spürt man die Liebe, mit der dieser Ort geführt wird. Die Inhaber sind einfach unglaublich herzlich und sorgen mit ihrer natürlichen, offenen Art sofort dafür, dass man den Alltag draußen lässt. Der Service ist dabei wunderbar unkompliziert und aufmerksam, ohne jemals aufdringlich zu sein – hier wird man wirklich als Gast und fast schon als Freund gesehen. Die Karte ist liebevoll und klein gehalten, was ich sehr schätze. Es ist ein Zeichen von Qualität und Frische, denn hier wird sich auf das Wesentliche konzentriert. Jedes Gericht, das wir probiert haben, war ein kleiner Genuss, ehrlich zubereitet und mit Liebe angerichtet. Man merkt, dass hier mit Leidenschaft und guten Zutaten gekocht wird.

Was für ein Juwel! Farmer ist ein echt cooler Typ mit einem super Restaurant. Da es klein ist, solltet ihr unbedingt reservieren. Macht das! Ihr werdet begeistert sein! Das Essen ist köstlich. Die Portionen sind großzügig. Egal ob Pasta, Fleisch oder Fisch – alles ist hervorragend zubereitet und sehr lecker. Auch die Getränke sind gut. Die Minestrone gehört zu den besten, die ich je gegessen habe (und sie ist eigentlich nicht meine erste Wahl, aber sie war wirklich köstlich). Wir haben das Essen und die entspannte Atmosphäre im Restaurant sehr genossen. Es ist total gemütlich. Ich wäre am liebsten jeden Tag dort gewesen, wenn ich es früher entdeckt hätte. Besucht Farmer und Lou! Ihr werdet es nicht bereuen!

Small, very nice, autumnal-cosy ambiance 💛 I had the goat cheese with beetroot starter, which surprisingly came with salad and vegetables (not on the menu), the dressing was delicious, I was very pleasantly surprised :) The prices are reasonable, and the service was also very nice, but I would come back just for the food I had 😊

Small but nice! There aren't many tables inside, so it's always best to make a reservation. We happened upon an evening when a birthday party was taking place there! The good mood of the fire party quickly spread! You feel very welcome there. And instead of the classic Aperol Spritz, I had the Passion Spritz (with passion fruit) and didn't regret it.

Dieses nette kleine Restaurant mit großer Außenfläche ist einfach wundervoll. Man wird sehr herzlich begrüßt und bedient und bekommt von der Küche ( seit vielen Jahren der gleiche😍) gutes Essen in ebenfalls guter Qualität zu vernünftigen ( Münchner) Preisen. Lou and Farmer estaba a la vuelta de la esquina de nuestro hotel, así que decidimos probarlo. Los propietarios eran muy acogedores y explicaron el menú ya que estaba en Alemán, amplia gama para todos los gustos. Las porciones eran generosas y los ingredientes de buena calidad. Nos sentamos afuera pero hay asientos adentro. Después de nuestra primera noche que comimos aquí durante las siguientes 3 noches fue tan bueno. Siempre ocupado con los lugareños, siempre una buena señal. Prueba el Tiramisu, maravilloso.

We happened upon Farmer&Lou on the French national holiday. A French evening had been planned for the occasion, but it was canceled. And perhaps fortunately, because Farmer&Lou was a real discovery. We were given a very nice corner table. Louise (Lou) and her waitress looked after us very nicely. They were always friendly, even though it got really crowded later on, as many guests crowded into the rather small interior – heavy rain was pouring down outside. My Tegernseer beer was remarkable right from the start because it was served in a fine wine glass, which I also love. When asked about it, Louisa said that her husband, Farmer, prefers it the same way: beer in a glass with a fine, preferably polished rim. It makes the experience complete. The homemade tortellini with spinach and the tuna seared in black and white sesame seeds were excellent. "Blackend" came to mind, something we learned to love in the USA. The nut salad was the kind we make and love. Chef Thaqi masterfully worked to achieve astonishing results in his small kitchen located above the dining room. He undoubtedly deserves the greatest recognition and a sincere, heartfelt thank you! Just like Louisa, who was an outstanding host, and the impeccable waitress. This team can confidently predict a great future.

I've eaten at Farmer & Lou several times and have been extremely satisfied every time. Whether it was the delicious food, the reliable service, or the pleasant atmosphere, everything worked together perfectly, and I'm always happy to come back ;))

We were delighted to enjoy a business lunch with our clients at Farmer & Lou today! We were very surprised by the wide variety of the inspired menu – not a given in Munich – from tuna steak to homemade spinach ravioli to salad with grilled goat cheese in a honey and rosemary marinade and beetroot to chocolate soufflé.... However, I (with my Italian roots) have to particularly mention the spaghetti carbonara – that's very rare in Munich and beyond....top quality – si mangia lì come da mamma! The super friendly service and the atmosphere are top-notch – you can tell many people are fans of this beautiful and fine restaurant. And: the Espresso Martini is also really good!! We'll be back! Grazie!!

We had a wonderful evening and are absolutely thrilled! The service was extremely warm and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious; you can tell that the food is prepared with love, fresh ingredients, and high-quality ingredients. The ambiance is beautiful and cozy, with a great atmosphere.

I had the ham pasta with salad. First of all: why are they served on the same plate? The salad is warm and the cream sauce watery. The taste is nothing special either. The salad was probably a ready-made mix, and you can make better pasta at home with Knorr. Unfortunately, it's far too expensive! The service was unfamiliar with the menu, but otherwise pleasant. I don't think it's too much to ask whether the "Carbonara" is actually made with egg, pecorino, and guanciale or with cream, Parmesan, and bacon. In case of doubt, it would even be deceptive. I don't think there's any need to react so flippantly to criticism. That's why I've edited the review. My biggest criticism, however, is how deafeningly loud it was in the small restaurant. You can barely understand the person sitting opposite you, even at the extremely small tables, and you have to talk very loudly, which naturally has an escalating effect... Unfortunately, based on the above points, the overall impression is only 2/5.

This lovingly run restaurant is much more than just a place to eat – it's a true insider tip for connoisseurs with a sense of quality, hospitality, and authentic taste. The owners, Noel and Louise, have created a little paradise here where you feel welcome from the very first moment. With a lot of passion, a keen sense of atmosphere, and tireless commitment, they succeed in transforming the restaurant into a place where you not only dine, but also feel at home. The service staff also delivers excellent service – always attentive, warm, and professional, without being intrusive. An absolute highlight of the menu – and a true insider tip – is the carbonara. What you get here has nothing to do with the often-used cream version, but is based on the classic Roman preparation. The pasta is perfectly al dente, the sauce wonderfully creamy. A dish of this quality that you'd otherwise expect to find in Italy itself. Conclusion: Farmer & Lou is a place where passion meets craftsmanship. Noel and Louise run their restaurant with heart and soul – and you can taste it in every bite. Anyone who appreciates honest cuisine, great pasta, and warm service will definitely find what they're looking for here. A clear recommendation for anyone who loves good food.

Highly recommended. The food and service were excellent. The owner kindly informed us that it might take a little longer due to the large number of guests, but the food and drinks were served much faster than in many other restaurants. We didn't have a reservation, and they still found us a seat despite the large group. Thank you so much 😘. We'd be happy to come back if we're ever in Munich Haidenau again.

What a wonderful, small, fine restaurant in the heart of Munich. We stumbled upon it by chance while desperately searching for a beautiful location. We called and were lucky that the date for my husband's birthday was still available (Farmer and Lou are usually fully booked, especially on weekends – well in advance). After that, everything was just so easy. We relaxedly discussed the evening's schedule and food. We rented the entire restaurant. Highly recommended for 20 or more guests. Prices and minimum spend, in our case, were very fair. The three-course menu was fantastic. We even got to decorate. Farmer (Noel, the owner) and Luisa (his wife) are delightful, very funny, and simply charming hosts. The unanimous feedback from our guests: it was a fantastic evening and a very successful birthday! A gem of a spot with cute decor - very cozy table spacing. They utilized a lot of the wall spacing partially as decor and also storage, so be prepared for staff to reach over you to grab a bottle of wine above your heads. Service and food was top notch and both the owner and waitstaff would strike up conversations whenever they had time to do so, also making sure to understand what kind of food expectations you were looking for. Definitely one of the best spots in Munich.

I celebrated my birthday at Farmer and Lou and it was definitely the right decision. Luisa and her team took great care of all guests and the food was great too. I also received exclusively positive feedback from the guests. Luisa and her team are excellently organized and made the entire planning process as easy as possible for me. For me it was a carefree all-round package. You simply notice Luisa's experience and warmth. I can only recommend everyone to hold their celebration here! 😊

Talents have been found here! A radiant hostess, a charming host, a professional in the kitchen, the Farmer & Lou team has passion! What is created here in such a small space is hospitality in the best sense of the word, the service is fast, there is no hip, chichi cuisine on the plates, but fresh, down-to-earth delicacies, the changing weekly menu had something to offer for all of us. The only thing to complain about is that we would love to have you during the day too! The nice conversation with the table next door should also be mentioned, we felt very comfortable with you.

(Reservation recommended. When I arrived, it looks quite empty. They asked me if I had a reservation. They managed to give me a table, but asked me if I could finish in an hour.) The location is very close to Ostbahnhof. The neighbourhood looks fancy. The outdoor gives a mixed vibe, a bit like beer garden on one side and hipster style on the other. I had gnocchi. It was amazing. Adding the cheese on top brings out the flavour. The food is fresh. I had lemonade which was refreshing for heavy taste. The summer is vibing. Reviewed in July 2024

We had our Masters of Marketing Christmas party at Farmer Lou Restaurant and it was a complete success! The restaurant is incredibly cozy, with great decoration and mood lighting that creates a pleasant atmosphere. The service was exceptionally good – fast, attentive and super friendly. It was impressive how the employees kept an eye on everything. Drinks came faster than you could order! The 3 course meal was fantastic! What was particularly impressive was that the chef prepared everything in the small kitchen for 30 people at the same time - the dishes came to the table warm and almost at the same time. Everything was fresh, tasty and perfectly prepared. We were able to choose our menu in advance and there was something for everyone: from meat dishes to vegan options. The communication and preparations in advance went flawlessly and were very personal. Luisa, the owner, listened to all of our wishes and conjured up an individual menu in consultation with us. Another highlight was the personal touch: we were welcomed outside with mulled wine, and later we were even allowed to turn on music and dance - an all-round successful evening! The price-performance ratio is great, and we would recommend Farmer Lou for private parties with a closed group as well as for a nice evening for two or with friends. A big thank you to the owner Luisa from Farmer Lou and her exceptionally great team for the great evening - we will definitely be back!

Very nice location, of course there are hospitable people here who cook and take care of you. Very good, tasty food and drinks made from high quality ingredients, at reasonable prices, very friendly and hard-working service, pleasant, cozy atmosphere. Because there are few places, reservation is required.

Deliciosa comida en un pequeño y acogedor restaurante. Servicio muy amable. Siempre hay más en oferta que lo que está escrito en la tarjeta. Entre otras cosas, comimos una cálida ensalada de invierno con queso de cabra, deliciosos tortellones hechos a mano con relleno de calabaza y una muy delicada Torta della Nonna de postre. Si quieres un aperitivo sin alcohol, solo pídelo. El que tenía jengibre y pepino era excelente. El lugar estaba totalmente reservado y recomendaría encarecidamente hacer una reserva con antelación.

The food is always fresh and tasty and the staff is super friendly. Also what is really important for me is that they try to be flexible if they can and give you a table without booking way in advance which is often the problem with most of the restaurants in Munich

What more could you want: great, personal, bright, fast and lovely service with delicious food, a large selection and a wonderful ambience. Friendly staff and delicious drinks.

A absolute gem and a must visit! This cozy spot is very approachable with both classic and inventive dishes; as well as a weekly menu of cocktails and special plates. While the food is exceptional—the service is even better! The two servers made our group feel at home with personalized service catered to our needs. One literally sat down with us to help translate the menu for English speakers, chose excellent wines and also to recommend dishes to flavor and dietary restrictions. Farmer And Lou is a great restaurant for locals ( if I lived in Munich this would easily be my neighborhood go to!) and visitors alike!

I found the place in a search for another one and gave it a shot. Delicious salad, the pasta was perfect and the mini chocolate cake with ice cream and red fruits was very rich in flavor. Very generous portions of everything btw. And the staff was very friendly and the other clients around as well.

This is a tiny tiny place with excellent service and great food! - they do have a small outdoor space; so just mark your expectations. If you are up for cocktails, they do have a slew of choices and probably can make anything. Service was fast even though the r place was packed when we arrived. Food was even quick to be served! Kudos to the chef. Singular I think! - the kitchen looked super tiny! I had their fish special and it was excellent! For such a small place they do seem to have lots of specials… great! Come and be amazed will be my recommendation.

My absolute favorite place :) No matter whether it's for a birthday or a spontaneous meal, Luisa always finds the perfect place for a successful evening. The food is clearly always excellent. My favorite is and remains the goat cheese salad and then either the delicious tiramisu or the lukewarm chocolate soufflé. I'll definitely come back very often.

Every time I received a lot of praise for choosing such a great restaurant! :). And you can also sit here very comfortably and feel comfortable alone. A real happy place! :)

Yesterday, after a telephone request, we were able to get space for two people at a larger table at short notice. This then turned out to be a high table with bar stools, which in terms of inconvenience would do credit to any fast food restaurant that focuses on high customer throughput. The table was also squeezed into a 3m narrow passageway between the toilet and kitchen doors. We wanted to leave again, but the landlady organized a table for two right next to the door at short notice, whose constant opening and the associated supply of cold air ensured that we didn't feel really comfortable. If the space wasn't full of customers like a school bus, it might otherwise be nice. The service was excellent and super friendly! I was a little disappointed with the tasty food. The grilled fish duo came very, very quickly and suggests that it was kept warm and not freshly prepared. I also don't quite understand how you can pour a creamy sauce over grilled fish. In my case, it was probably more to cover up the fact that the fish was warmed up and dried out. It wasn't mine. Too bad for the evening! I think the very nice innkeepers should seek a better balance between maximizing sales and customer well-being. Addendum: The landlady called me today and expressed her regret that we didn't like it so much. She explained that due to the short notice of the reservation there was no better table available and invited us to give her a second chance on a next visit. I find this commitment really remarkable and I don't take it for granted. That's why one star is high and we'd love to visit again when we're back in Munich.

Sweet little restaurant, very familiar and cozy. Extensive, creative menu, high-quality and fresh food, extremely attentive and friendly hosts. We'll definitely be back!

A small, cosy restaurant a few minutes away from Ostbahnhof. The atmosphere is so cosy, one feels as if they were having dinner in their living room. Very delicious food and great service by the owners. They also took care of asking if everything was ok often and really cared for their guests to have a good time. There are only a 5-6 small tables so I recommend calling for a reservation beforehand.

The team here are absolutely fabulous. We enjoyed every moment from start to finish it really was excellent. We are a small group of four adults and tried everything on the chefs choice menu. All delicious and well recommended, including the wine recommendations. Cocktails are also great!

Da freut man sich auf eine erwärmende Einkehr doch die Raumtemperatur war im kleinen Gastraum doch sehr habeckisch. Die charmante Dame der Bedienung und die Leistung des Kochs verdienen beide 5 tripadvosorPunkte : das grünrote Temperaturambiente verunmöglicht jedoch diese auch anzutippen : dazu fühlt man sich nicht wohlig : so wie sich's eigentlich gehört.

The most important thing about a restaurant first: the food is great, as is the service. Luisa gave me a wonderful birthday evening. I haven't celebrated this comfortably and relaxed in a long time, and all the guests were also thrilled. Absolutely clear recommendation!

Incredibly good shop! You immediately feel at home! Incredibly loving and driven with passion! Food exceptionally good (pimiento sauce with the prawns out of this world) and great friendly staff! The operator and the nice lady from Holland should be mentioned here in particular!! If it were my shop I would design the wine list a little differently, but that is purely subjective! Again any time
