It started with us having to wait forever for the waiter. He kept walking past us without acknowledging us. (We were sitting outside.) It wasn't very busy either, so he could have easily asked us what we wanted to drink. There were three of us, and two of us wanted a bite to eat. So we ordered a small Coke Zero, two large Coke Zeros, and two currywurst fries with mayo. If you look at the prices on the website, you'd think we paid around €34. But it was ten euros more. The prices vary enormously from the website, and the Coke is totally outrageous. A large glass of Coke cost €6.20. The food was okay. Nothing special, and not at all nicely presented. When you sit outside, you constantly get the smell of Cologne wafting around your nose. Unfortunately, that's not very pleasant. If you go to the restroom, you can only enter if you pay €0.50. The fact that a guest who pays €6.20 for a Coke also has to pay €0.50 for the restroom is truly below the belt. I can understand asking people who come in from outside to use the restroom to check out, but ripping off your own guests is truly cheeky. One of the waiters who served us didn't even speak a word of German. I think you should be able to speak the bare minimum. All in all, I would definitely not recommend this place.

Far too expensive and the service was downright rude. A non-alcoholic cocktail was €11 for 0.3 🤠 The bill was incorrect, and the wrong drinks were received...

The food was cold when it arrived, the aioli had no garlicky taste, and when I didn't tip, my remaining change was rudely slammed down on the table! We didn't even get a goodbye. Never again!

Unfortunately, the food was lukewarm and overcooked. As we all know, taste is subjective. Unfortunately, it didn't convince us. Maybe we were just unlucky. The location is OK, which is why we ended up there.

The best food 😁 I'm looking forward to the next time

Just a fever dream! Seven of us went to the restaurant on Saturday afternoon to have something to eat and drink. The meal (which lasted about an hour) was unspectacular, relatively unseasoned and simply too expensive. Well and good… The service, on the other hand, was a complete disaster - if it weren't so sad, it would almost be laughable. In addition to the waiting time, we had several waiters try to ask for salt, which was followed by an unfriendly “wait” or “my colleague will do that”. The highlight, however, was the lady at the toilet who asked for money and explained that it was “inhumane” not to give her a tip. We told the waiter this at the end, who gave us the boss's number and explained that we should contact him ourselves (he then angrily went to the lady and confronted her in front of us). There was also an older waiter who came far too close while clearing the plates. Overall (despite the beautiful backdrop) unfortunately rather disappointing and unprofessional.

OUTRAGEOUS! RIP-OFF! We were there on carnival Sunday at 4 p.m., almost alone in the store with 15 people, bought drinks for €100 Inside. Discussion with boss and bouncer without success. INCREDIBLE.NEVER AGAIN WILL YOU SEE €1 from us, even if it is the last brewery in Cologne.

We had delicious Kölsch beer and sausage. Although I arrived quite late, they welcomed me and spoke to me in a friendly manner. The food and beer were delicious! Danke! !

Fantastic place to eat especially their chilli dip with fresh baked bread! Staff are wonderful! Genc! He looked after us so well! Definitely a place to visit day and night! Large beers and good prices too!

Food was too salty and not really tasty. Roast was dry. The service was great, but unfortunately the toilet attendant and the toilet were not at all. Totally dirty and filthy and the woman is just unfriendly. Demanding money for using the toilet as a guest is really cheeky.

Service and food were good. Unfortunately, there is a big minus point and deduction for the toilets, as many have already mentioned here. With a fee of 50 cents (even as a guest!) I expect a clean and well-maintained place. Unfortunately, this was not the case at all. The toilet attendant is also extremely unfriendly, just sits in her chair instead of cleaning the dirty toilets and is even insulting when you think you don't have to pay guest anything! This is definitely something that needs to be improved, and nothing changed when I asked the waiter about it when paying the bill, because the same thing happened to the other guests. I've never experienced that before!

Atmosphere ok. Waiters sometimes more sometimes less attentive. Mead bites delicious. Cold Kölsch. But the menu differs in size and, above all, in price from the menu on the website. If you want to wash your hands before eating, you will be “politely” informed that there is a 50 cent charge for using the toilet…

Food was okay, not bad but not great either. The fries are quite good, Kölsch was also quite good. Service was also quite okay, hence 3 stars. The ambience, on the other hand, was disappointing, clearly decorated quite nicely, but there was a constant smell coming from the toilets in the room, other guests had already complained and even changed tables. I have no idea what kind of scent it was, but it was definitely way too intense and spoiled your appetite a bit.

Food out of a can, nothing special. As long as what you ordered comes. No one here speaks German and unfortunately they hardly understand a word. Sas of course leads to several misunderstandings... very annoying

The only German restaurant I recommend going to. Price-quality is great. We stayed 4 nights in Colonia and 3 of them we had dinner there, since the food is tasty, the place is cozy and the staff is very nice. If we return we will definitely repeat :)

Unfortunately, it was not possible to order anything to eat despite a wait of more than 30 minutes. The outdoor area had 9 tables and a total of 31 guests. So the crowd was quite manageable. However, the three service staff were so busy with their smartphones that they apparently couldn't or didn't want to take an order. Even our next table was not served despite waving and shouting. We then left and ate elsewhere. Maybe the service staff should work better on a commission basis, because then there is no money for doing nothing.

There were three of us on December 28th. for a few beers and a snack here... the atmosphere was very nice and the service was impeccable 👍🏻🥰 Drinks and food came super quickly and the waiters and bartender were very attentive 🤩🤗 Thank you for the great time with you

The “Swabian cheese spaetzle” came surprisingly quickly. And that when you think that cheese spaetzle needs a moment. That was probably because there was no cheese in it at all. The Käsespätzle were spaetzle with a cup of cream poured over it, plus chopped carrots and onions. What does this have to do with Käsespätzle? Just as good a question as how such a lousy restaurant gets good reviews. Even the toilet was unusable because as a guest you are not allowed to go to the toilet without change. Is that even legal? In any case, we thought we had never eaten anything so bad.

Great food! The schnitzel and pork knuckle were amazing! We also had Mai Thai and long island cocktails that were very well made. The apple dessert was also incredibly good. The deco is also beautiful. I recommend it!

Delicious potato soup in winter under the heater. Coffee also good and inexpensive. Polite and quick service. Highly recommended restaurant.

We ordered the cutlet 3 times. First of all, there were no grilled tomatoes twice, as promised on the menu. The rocket and parmesan salad was also missing from all three plates. When asked, the grilled tomato came. The rocket salad was missing until the end. The full price was charged. That's not ok, Upon request there was a herbal liqueur for one person... Impossible - Never again...

Spareribs and Grillhaxe very tasty. Fries were bad tasting and too hard. Waiter rolled his eyes disapprovingly at the tip and walked away without saying anything.

De Belgische frieten waren harde Franse frieten. Als je glas nog niet leeg was vroegen ze of ze er nog een konden brengen op een opdringerige manier. Bij afrekenen was de fooi schijnbaar niet hoog genoeg en dat was heel duidelijk te merken aan zijn uitdrukking. En een gedag was dan ook teveel. Van de 1000 restaurants in Keulen, hebben wij net de verkeerde gekozen.

Advent, unter der Woche, am Abend, und trotzdem kaum was los. Der Service war freundlich und fix, das Essen (Weihnachtsbratwurst von der Sonderkarte) lecker. Sterneküche darf man natürlich nicht erwarten, das liegt in einem Tourihotspot. Wenn man es so nimmt, war es sehr ordentlich. Durchaus wieder.

A very strange concept of a restaurant where you have to pay money if you want to visit a restroom and wash your hands. Food is ok. It is around 30% more expensive than on the website!!!! We ordered pork schnitzel, they didn’t have it and offered us chicken, which is cheaper. We were ok with that. But afterwards we were asked to pay for the pork one (18.60 Euro instead of 12:90 Euro). Disappointment!!

Das war Nix . Lieber Wirt. Leider uns unser Besuch bei euch enttäuscht. Zuletzt waren wir vor Corona bei euch essen . Da war wohl ein anderer Pächter drin . Das Essen war nur mittelmäßig. Spießraten stelle ich mir anders vor . Andere Gäste am Tisch würden auch sagen wegen dem Essen kommen wir nicht mehr . Karte besser etwas kleiner machen und nur frische Waren anbieten . Leider ist der Service weniger als mittelmäßig. Kölsch ohne Schaum , dazu noch nicht mal bis zum Eichstrich gefüllt . Ouzo ungenießbar und beim Sambuca klebte das Glas total . Getränke wurden per Hand serviert nicht auf dem Tablett . Teilweise gab das personal unverschämte Kommentare von sich wie ich nehme keine Bestellung an bin nur der Löufer. Kurios auch auf der Bekleidung ist überall Gaffel Aufdruck und die Gläser sind von Früh Kölsch !!! Die Toiletten Frau sollte wissen das eine Toilette behördlich vorgeschrieben ist und nicht jedem hinterher rufen Du musst bezahlen ! Nö muss ich nicht , was ich oben trinke und bezahle kann ich unten ausschütten . Vom Brauhaus ist die EX Vertretung weit entfernt

Two completely different dishes with different quality. The salmon with the penne was really a success. Unfortunately the burger was dry and the meat was burnt.

He and 6 “ladies” were there to celebrate on November 11th, 2024. The €10 entry fee was totally worth it. Great atmosphere, nice staff.

Der schöne Blick auf den Rhein ist das beste was dieses Restaurant zu bieten hat. Die Bedienung war nicht gerade der Sonnenschein in Freundlichkeit. Den Rest gab uns die flapsige Bemerkung auf die in Deutschland übliche 10-Prozent-Trinkgeld-Regel. Ist das wirklich so? Ich habe dies weder in Köln noch anderswo erlebt. Wenn das wirklich der Standard ist, werde ich diese Bewertung anpassen. Was sicherlich nicht hilfreich ist, wenn das Restaurant negative Bewertungen zu löschen versucht und mit Verleumdung droht anstatt sich den vielen negativen Bewertungen zu stellen und versucht es besser zu machen. Das alles sollte man sich bei einem möglichen Besuch bewusst sein.

I always enjoyed being there in the past. As always, ordered “Chancellor fillet”. “Giant” currywurst?! None. A normal sausage. Normal size. A handful of fries. We ate a total of 2x Currywurst fries and two Kölsch and paid €40. Sry. It wasn't worth the sausage.

It was very nice to sit outside with a daiquiri on a warm October evening.

Unfortunately there is no comparison to the previous permanent representation, food irrelevant, service and service unfriendly, rude look when tipping, looks unkempt inside. Actually a cool concept but now without commitment. Too bad!

This used to be a great shop. We enjoyed going here for many years. For many months now we have noticed an incredible laziness among the waiters on Sundays. Like yesterday! The man simply walked past us several times. But there was nothing going on. We left at some point. The waiter also laughed at us and shrugged his shoulders and an employee shouted insults at us. It's a shame I left so much money there. Lost another customer!

Price-quality ratio is moderate Salad made with way too much dressing, not automatic bread with meal salad. No fries with main course. Ordered extra fries: 6.50!! In short: Poor price-quality ratio

The coffee was brought over on loan by someone, unfriendly at that, and the “Cafe Crema” is probably the dishwashing version of it and tastes the same. I'm curious about the price. Not recommended.

We can hardly express how disappointing our visit to this restaurant was. On two different days we faced the same disastrous experience. The waiting time was unbearable! We sat at the table and were simply ignored - not a waiter in sight. It felt like we were air for the staff. On the second visit the situation was even more frustrating. We watched other guests at three other tables get up and leave the restaurant in frustration. It is incomprehensible that a restaurant that apparently does NOT rely on customers would treat its guests so poorly. If you can't afford even the minimal amount of attention to serve your guests, you may want to consider staying in the catering business. We certainly won't be returning and can only advise everyone to look for a local restaurant that really understands the term "hospitality".

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our visit to the Ex representation restaurant. Many of us ordered the "giant currywurst", but what we got was anything but what one would think of as "huge". For a whopping €16.90, we were only served a normal bratwurst in curry sauce - far from a truly huge portion. To make matters worse, when we asked, we were told that the "Riesen Currywurst" was no longer available, but the full price was still charged for it. This is absolutely unacceptable and not recommended. It's a shame because expectations were higher.

Nice cafe, magnificent location, but it's weird to clear the glasses as soon as you finish your drinks, only to ask in a second if you want to have something else.

You can sit outside here and watch the hustle and bustle on the banks of the Rhine. We didn't try the food, but the Kölsch was good and the service was quick and friendly.

Food was excellent, service was good and the beer was cold. You can't ask for much more. I had the ex Chancellor bratwurst and it was excellent, my wife has the salmon pasta and it was huge. Really good with the kids too.

My experience at this restaurant was simply disappointing. The food was the low point of the evening. The starter arrived cold and the main course was either too salty or bland - lacking any flavor. The waiting time was also unbearably long, even though the restaurant wasn't even particularly full. Overall, an absolute failure. I will definitely not visit this restaurant again and unfortunately I cannot recommend it to anyone.

I liked the food. The service was great and the waiter was really friendly and funny. I went with friends and we sat outside, a very pleasant place. The downside was that smoking is allowed in this part of the restaurant and some customers were smoking while I was eating. I know that this is common in German, but this for me it's an unpleasant experience.

I GOT FOOD POISONING THE NEXT DAY! Bedridden all day and very unwell. Be careful, be careful to flee! Poor quality food, I seriously questioned myself when I saw the color of my “Argentinian” piece of meat. (Beige after cooking) A tiramisu that looks nothing like Tiramisu, really not good. Average service, waiter who asks for a tip when paying. Very expensive bill for what we eat there…

Unfortunately, the pasta wasn't fully cooked and we were only offered to bring new ones, which we didn't want to get to the point where we still had to pay for the pasta. For a whopping €6 I got a warm cola which was definitely a Cola Zero which I hadn't ordered. Other people at the table also made this observation. For €6 you would expect a few ice cubes so that the cola isn't warm.

Tips are not mandatory in German right? Why the staff are so rude to ask us to give tips? Zhon gguoren bie TM lai zhe jia dian！ No good service at all, they can not even remember what we order.

Be careful when paying with credit card. In my case, the waitress had to swipe the card 3 times, supposedly because it didn't work, but the value was debited 3 times. Despite repeated calls and emails, no one has responded to the error, it seems to be fine. So be careful!

We sat outside for 15 minutes (it wasn't very busy), asked once if we could order drinks (the gentleman said he couldn't but his colleague came straight away). Then three times a waiter walked around us without even noticing that we were sitting there. We left without having accomplished anything - it's such a shame. The location is perfect, right on the Rhine!

We ate here today as a family. We sat outside on the lovely terrace. Unfortunately, the service and food quality did not convince us. We had to wait a long time - both for the service and the food. Käsespätzle were lukewarm, the sauerbraten was not tender. The price-performance ratio doesn't fit.

Place to pass by in Cologne! Unpleasant waiters. They charge you for everything and on top of that they charge you the tip they want without asking! The food is terrible and scarce and the drink is hot. Please avoid this site!!

We had to tell them several times that they would charge us and to pay by card it is 20 and they even charge you to go to the bathroom, and it is full of wasps

Terrible service, we were literally ignored. They charge you to go to the bathroom even if you are consuming on the spot. Too sweet aperol. They added a 19% tip already built into the bill, I had never seen that in Germany and I live here.

We ordered food and drinks at the establishment, yet we were still charged to use the bathroom. What’s the point of drinking at a place if they charge you for every visit to the restroom? Another issue was that they added a 19% tip without asking, which made me never want to return. I recommend going somewhere else instead of this place.

Rhenish sauerbraten actually quite good, but very salty and quite tough potato dumplings. Things are better at the permanent representation in Berlin

Food very tasty. Takes a relatively long time. Portion size normal to small. Staff can only speak a bit of German, if at all. You have to pay to go to the toilet despite eating in the restaurant.

The staff wasn't unfriendly, but they weren't particularly motivated either. The taste of the food was okay, although one would have expected more in terms of price/performance ratio. Unfortunately the food was almost cold.

Had a couple beers with friends, but service was very meh. We basically had to do everything, glad at least that they brought the beers to the table though! Of course the beer was good (Kölsch beer for the win!).
