Ewige Lampe in Bergisch Gladbach

We had a meeting with 14 friends on November 3rd, 2024 and were totally thrilled with the food. I myself had the highly recommended No. 62. “Black & White” medallions (beef, turkey, pork) with pepper cream sauce, hollandaise and hash browns and I have to say that I have rarely eaten something so delicious. The chefs know something about meat and sauces. My friends were also excited. The service was very accommodating. The prices are absolutely reasonable and I give it 10 out of 10 stars for the price-performance ratio. Toilets are also great, we will visit the beer garden next summer. We were there for the first time and will definitely come back. Side note: Good dogs are allowed.

Normal, good middle-class restaurant, which also wants to convey a certain brewery character. Food ok, without any special highlights, a kitchen that you can always recommend given the price-performance ratio. Service was quick and good, beer 🍺 arrived quickly and without any special effort.

Not a place for vegetarians The Eternal Lamp is a restaurant in the middle of Refrath with a long tradition. The location is very good. The train line is right next to it. The highway is also nearby. There are parking spaces everywhere nearby. The restaurant offers a beer garden, numerous indoor spaces and bowling alleys. The staff is attentive and friendly. Now comes the big but, which is why I refrain from visiting. And this is the food on offer. As a vegetarian you are lost here, as a vegan you are completely lost. The menu offers almost exclusively meat and fish dishes. There are only two vegetarian dishes. Even the salads are all made with meat or fish. This is absolutely out of date. Any restaurants or supermarkets tailor their product range to ensure that meat and fish are not consumed all the time. It was a shame that the side dish of fried potatoes also contained bacon, even though that wasn't shown on the menu. Every tenth person in Germany or guest eats an exclusively vegetarian diet. Please make sure that they have a similarly good offer as everyone else.

Nice restaurant with a nice beer garden under old trees. Friendly staff. Still relatively cheap food and drinks. Also offers a rustic guest room inside. Usually busy in the evenings, so reservations are recommended. Even when it's full, you can keep an overview here and drinks and food are served quickly.

The Eternal Lamp is *the* traditional Refrather restaurant. Under new management for a few years, international cuisine with an emphasis on what used to be called "Yugoslavian". Very good meat dishes, not cheap but worth the money. Huge selection. Enough staff, quick service, friendly. And the huge highlight: By far the most beautiful beer garden far and wide, large, green, dining under well-tended trees. Always a top recommendation!

Great location for class reunions

Der schönste Biergarten in Refrath und Umgebung. Toller Service, lecker Essen, was will man mehr. TOP! Es gibt auch eine Kegelbahn, die gemietet werden kann. Die verschiedenen Balkangerichte sind einfach lecker.

Restaurant itself very old fashioned in the style of the 60s/70s. Lots of tables. Food was okay but nothing worth mentioning. Many older people from the audience can be found there.

We were there with three adults and a small child. For a Sunday evening, the inn was already busy at 6 p.m. and we were lucky to get a table. The interior is quite nice, the tables are set with white tablecloths, and the cutlery is only put out once the guest has taken a seat and ordered. Unfortunately it was too cold for the beer garden, but it looked quite attractive. Big old trees, definitely nice to sit there in the shade in summer. There is also a parking lot that belongs to the inn. Now about the food: we ordered four dishes that could be described as Croatian. The grilled meat was delicious, tasted nice after a charcoal grill, and as a side dish there was Schuhweg rice and French fries. For our two-year-old granddaughter we had Mini Cevapcici with Schuhbeck Circle, thank God not the usual offering of spaghetti and tomato sauce for small children. Something different for once, and the little one really liked it. The service was super friendly, quick and attentive, as soon as my Kölsch was almost finished, I was asked if I would like another freshly tapped one. We come from southern Germany, but found that the price-performance ratio at the Gasthaus zur eternal Lamp was reasonable, as the portions were really large and tasty. Overall, we had a nice evening and it wasn't so loud that we couldn't have a conversation. The whole atmosphere was pleasant, service was fine and we will definitely come back next time.

Beer garden, restaurant and bowling alley... summer can come 🙂. A nice restaurant, a nice beer garden and two small bowling alleys. The service is very nice and attentive (thanks Melanie) even though we had an overlap with a booking that, to be honest, the boss didn't clarify well. But mistakes can happen. The bowling alley is older, but works well and is enough for around 10 to 12 people. More people will be difficult in terms of space. I have to say that I personally thought the food tasted good, but unfortunately the price/performance wasn't right. The children's plates were good and sufficient. The beer garden is large and nicely designed. The adjacent multi-generational park gives smaller children some space to linger. There are many free parking spaces nearby, as well as train stop 1 and the bus stop.

We were invited to a birthday party and brought two bouquets of flowers. Only after explicit request was a vase made available to us. The food for 15 people was served within 10 minutes, but the quality left something to be desired. The meat was very dry and not very tasty. The staff also limited themselves to the bare essentials. Overall it was a disappointing experience that we don't want to repeat.

Delicious Croatian cuisine that is prepared quickly and well even when there is a lot of crowds. The service is well organized and authentic. The location is very busy and with this crowd it makes sense to reserve a table in advance. We had the fish platter for two and it was simply good. Happy to come back!

Clocky, old inn in Refrath. The dining room is almost original from the 60s, dark wood and a real bar where people stand, drink beers and chat. Where else can you find that? Unfortunately, unfortunately, this type of meeting place is becoming increasingly extinct. Where you can just go without making an explicit appointment and definitely meet someone you can talk to. The food is also very tasty and the service is friendly and funny. There is also a beautiful beer garden. And it's located right next to tram line 1, Refrath station. We always enjoy being here!

After several visits you have to realize that the food is average. The atmosphere is old-fashioned, but the beer garden is very nice. The toilets could be cleaner. The service is rather cold. It depends on which employee you get. At least one person had the impression that they had to apologize for being there.

One of my favorite local places when it comes to good food, nice service and ambience. A chef who loves his craft and a service team that is friendly and attentive. Everything is just great and makes you feel good.

When it comes to the ambience and the majority of guests, you are literally immersed in the 20th century. An address where you can find people of all ages. The salad plate and the fillet strips were excellent and worth the price.

I was there yesterday for the first time after the change of tenant and have known the Eternal Lamp since I was a child. People in Refrath have thought about what would happen if Hermann-Josef quits, and I really have to say: With the new tenant, exactly the right person is at work :) Everything is as you would expect from a good, middle-class inn. The staff was super nice, the food was great and the Eternal Lamp was packed. Hats off and congratulations, that's exactly how it's done! The Eternal Lamp is highly recommended.

We saw in the beautiful beer garden. The waiter was very friendly, attentive and quick. The drinks arrived within a few minutes. The food there was very tasty and the selection is large. Something for everyone, I would say. A lovely beer garden, highly recommended.

Immer wieder gerne gehen wir hier essen. Rustikales, gemütliches Restaurant unter deutsch-kroatischer Leitung. Sehr leckeres Essen zu sehr moderaten Preisen mit lecker kühlem Kölsch. Es gibt sowohl Schnitzel & Co., sowie auch kroatische Leckereien. Auf jeden Fall ausprobieren, Top!

Das Essen war lecker und ansprechend angerichtet. Auf Sonderwünsche wurde eingegangen und freundlich reagiert. Wir werden noch öfters dort essen gehen.

Sehr lecker, gute Portionen und das Gericht kam genau wie bestellt. Uriger Kneipencharakter und im hinteren Teil noch ein großer Raum mit Tischen. Kegelbahnen ebenfalls vorhanden (aber nicht genutzt). Kommen gerne wieder.

Nach langer Zeit bin ich dort wieder eingekehrt. Ein neuer Pächter bringt neuen Schwung in den Laden. Leckeres Kölsch und gutes Essen stellten mich sehr zufrieden. Zu erwähnen ist der Biergarten, der letzte seiner Art in Refrath. Lokal und Biergarten täglich gut besucht. Empfehlenswert. Jetzt auch wöchentlich wechselnde Mittagskarte. Zum Beispiel Rouladen oder Tafelspitz, Mit Suppe und Nachtisch.

Ohne Google wären wir hier nie hergekommen, und hätten das super Essen verpasst! 👍🏻

Lecker gegessen und lustig nach Haus.

Leckeres Essen, nette Bedienung, hier und da ein paar kleine Missverständnisse bei unserer großen Gruppe, auch an Weihnachten nett geschmückter Speiseraum in sonst urigem Ambiente und super, dass es eine Kegelbahn gibt. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Im Sommer bestimmt super im Biergarten.

Essen nach einem Geschäftstermin. Das Essen war super lecker. Auch wurde sehr schnell serviert. Leider gibt es hier ein ziemlich bekanntes Deutschlandweites Problem: Kreditkartenzahlung nicht möglich. Man stellt sich immer die Frage, warum? In so ziemlich allen Ländern der Welt ist das problemlos möglich, bloß in Deutschland sträuben sich noch so viele Gastronomen dagegen. Schade

Essen war sehr lecker. Kellner sehr höflich. Preise normal. Ein gut bürgerliches Lokal, mitten in Refrath. Immer wieder....

Immer wieder gerne, weil Qualität, Quantität und Service Immer super sind. Keine langen Wartezeiten. Wir sind noch nie enttäuscht worden.

Sehr klassisch, eher Brauhaus als Gaststätte. Sehr viel Trubel, sehr laut. Gut besucht. Bedienung sehr freundlich. Es war etwas zugig und kühl. Gerichte sehr fleischlastig. Veganes sucht man leider vergeblich auf der Speisekarte. Nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Auf Anfrage bekommt man dann "Beilagen" und geht dann hungrig, da viel zu wenig, da ja dieser Brocken totes Tier fehlt und man das leider dann nicht durch mehr Gemüse oder Reis ersetzt. Also nichts für Pflanzenesser. Leider.

Lecker essen-und-trinken direkt in Refrath

Heute waren wir das erste Mal dort. Wir waren zu viert dort. Mein Bruder hat heute Geburtstag, wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen, Kai sitzt Rollstuhl und am hinteren Eingang wurde die Rampe ausgelegt und er konnte mit dem Estuhl gut reinfahren. Das Personal war hilfsbereit. Essen reichhaltig, sehr gut angerichtet und richtig lecker. Wenn wir meinen Papa und meinen Bruder wieder besuchen, kommen wir gemeinsam wieder. Heute Abend habe ich mit meiner Sportgruppe unsere diesjährige Weihnachtsfeier im Gasthaus Ewige Lampe gefeiert. Wir waren alle sehr zufrieden mit unseren Gerichten und Getränken, die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Lokal war sehr gut besucht.

Gutbürgerliche Küche, sehr nette Bedienung, teilweise etwas gestresst. Ambiente etwas sehr angestaubt.

Freundliche Bedienung, angemessene Preise für´s leckere Essen

Zweimal waren wir bisher in der Lampe und waren vom Essen und dem Service begeistert! Sehr gute bürgerliche Küche! Das Essen war sehr lecker und von sehr guter Qualität! Der Service war auf Zack und sehr freundlich! Sehr gerne werden wir immer mal wieder vorbeikommen und was leckeres essen.

Gefällt mir sehr gut! Preis-Leistung stimmt! Bedienung sehr freundlich, das Essen war bisher immer sehr lecker!

Wir waren hier abends mit Freunden auf ein paar Bier verabredet. Nachdem wir auf das erste Bierbestellung schon fast 15 Minuten warten mussten, haben wir von einer Essensbestellung Abstand genommen. Auch im Weiteren mussten wir gefühlt ewig auf weiter Getränke warten und regelrecht um Bier betteln, weil unser Keller entweder verschwunden war oder lustlos herumstand. Ganz miserabler Service und vermutlich eines der wenigen Brauhäuser im Raum Köln, in dem man auch verdursten kann😏.

Die Speisenauswahl - TOP -. Die Rinderleber mit hausgemachtem Kartoffelbrei einmalig. Auch die anderen Gerichte sehr schmackhaft. Bedienung sehr freundlich und schnell. Immer wieder gerne.

Unter dem neuen Besitzer gibt es Gerichte wie früher beim Jugoslawen. Wir sind mit dem Mittagsangebot meist zufrieden oder bestellen was Rustikales aus der deutsche Küche.

Man kann die komplette Speisekarte empfehlen. Dienstag ist Ruhetag sonst am Abend ab 17 Uhr An Sonn und Feiertagen auch Mittagtisch. MIt im Sommer geöffneten Biergarten
