Mexico? Europe is more likely to try Mexican We spontaneously went to eat at Esquina and unfortunately we were misled by the “Mexican”. It's more of a European interpretation of Mexican without having to deal with the spices of Mexico. To do this, try simply baking it with cheese and topping it with ready-made sauces. It's a shame, a good example of how recessions can mislead you

Steak was "well done" (maybe even a bit more) istead of "medium." Everything else was ok. The prices are maybe a bit high. You can eat in Basel for the same amount

I visited Esquina Lörrach with friends in October 2024. We had reserved our table in advance by phone. We were greeted very friendly and were given a table immediately. The tables in the room were very narrow and it was very loud in the dining room. We were served quickly and received delicious and great attention from the house. We were able to order quickly and everything came quickly. Taste was great all around! Towards the end you could have been more attentive, you probably would have sold one or two more drinks, maybe even a dessert. Prices were local, but like all restaurants in the border region of Switzerland, they were 2-3 euros too high. Conclusion: A successful, great evening with delicious food. One point deducted for the narrowness and the loudness.

Great tacos! Spareribs are also nice with a good portion. No breaks in the afternoon, hence the place to go for an early dinner.

The restaurant is extremely busy. When I made the reservation 1 day in advance, I was informed that a stay of 1 - 1.5 hours would only be possible. But that's not a problem, as the very good food is served very quickly by the friendly waiters. There was even a greeting from the kitchen beforehand. The portions are generous. The only downer was the noise in the restaurant, also due to the narrow seating. But I've never seen a Mexican restaurant that was fully booked.

Great food, great prices, very tasty. The only thing that was a shame was that the food always came extremely quickly, you ate the last bite of the starter and then the main course arrived. It was also very loud inside, you almost had to shout at each other. Otherwise great!

The food was really cool. We had tacos and steak. It came quickly even though it was very busy and the staff were also very polite and helpful. I got a main course, a cocktail and a dessert for €35. By the way, at the beginning you get a drink and nachos for free which is super cool. Definitely recommended.

Absolutely great. The service was perfect, from the greeting to the ordering and farewell, just great. A big compliment to the gentlemen from the service. You immediately feel comfortable and the food is very good. There were two of us and we ordered three dishes and shared them. Everything is freshly prepared and the dessert, the tiramisu, was also very tasty. Value for money is excellent and we will definitely be back very soon. Doesn't take a lunch break, so it was completely full outside, but almost empty inside. Gluten free they have mozzarella and tomato, fries and various chicken wings and steaks. I had the fries and they are really good. When asked in the kitchen, people also asked whether the tartar sauce was gluten-free, which it was, and the whole issue of gluten intolerance was taken very seriously. Very refreshing when you're never really taken seriously. Unfortunately no gluten-free desserts but maybe that will come.

Even less Mexican than Papa Joes in Basel. Food is Tex-Mex stuff that is neither freshly prepared nor served with Mexican salsas. Service is ok and friendly. Possibly Albanian owner? The condition was very friendly. He explained everything to us and gave me a good recommendation because I couldn't decide. The food was very tasty and prepared with fresh ingredients. First, thank you very much for the incredible hospitality! I booked a table at the last minute for my mom's birthday and we were super delighted! It's our new favorite restaurant! The owner and the entire team are very friendly and attentive. They even organized little surprises, although I hadn't mentioned anything. The best thing was when they turned off all the lights and brought out a dessert with a sparkler, and then the whole team applauded for my mom! We recommend this restaurant with all our hearts! The food is authentic and delicious!

Great service and very nice boss! The food was of very good quality, a small starter on the house and 2x tequilla on the house in between, where else can you get that? We were thrilled and would come again and again. Everything fits together, very tasty food and great service!!

We were here for the first time yesterday, at lunchtime for a salad bowl and queso bred, then again in the evening and were absolutely thrilled! Super nice staff, fast, attentive service, very tasty food. Awesome and never experienced anything like this: 1 welcome drink and a plate of small things (see photo) on the house. You will also be greeted with a handshake. We would come here again and again! Oh, the long island ice tea was also great.

I have eaten at Esquina several times and have always been very satisfied. The last visit with my friends was so great - food, service, ambience outside in the evening that I'm writing a review today. Absolutely delicious and recommended with a feel-good factor.

Went yesterday with my family and had a good time. Service is a perfect 10 and the atmosphere is pleasant. We had a chicken quesadilla and baked potato, and my kids got spaghetti with tomato sauce and chicken nuggets. Portions were just the right size and very, very fresh. I really appreciate the kids menu. I had a pinacolada which was a bit light. The tiramisu for dessert was not good. Would definitely go back again, and I do recommend this place for a decent, relaxed meal.

I have visited and tried many Mexican restaurants. But I have to admit, no one can top Esquina Lörrach! The food is served generously. We often receive an appetizer or coffee on the house. Really awesome! There is a lot to choose from and the meat is prepared really well and freshly. The staff is great, friendly and well-positioned. I come back regularly and with great pleasure. Keep it up, respect!!!

Wonderful atmosphere made by the staff. The starter was a hit and we loved everything from the salads to steak.

The six of us got a table even though we hadn't made a reservation. Delicious food, served relatively quickly even though the place was packed. The service was nice. Unfortunately my beer wasn't completely cold, probably poured into a warm glass due to the high throughput.

We ate there before going to a concert because our favorite restaurant was closed on Sundays. Ambience was quite nice. The service was friendly and attentive. Personally, I find it strange when there are only men in the service. The food was standard. A lot of fried food, salad sauces and dips were lacking in seasoning and perhaps ready-made products. The meat dishes were very tasty.

Very good meat, reasonably priced portions & very friendly and courteous staff. Free welcome drink, free coffee at the end. After a while, the owner saw that we were a bit cold and moved us. I can only recommend!

The tortillas and sauces are not made by the restaurant's kitchen, they are purchased, as are other components of the dishes we tried. This compromises the quality of the food in general. It's something you could do at home... I don't think it's a good value for money.

Attracted by the good reviews, we decided on this place. It seems the kitchen crew had not the best day. The food was average at best. Everything pretty oily and not seasoned well. Service was OK, kind of direct. Poor guy couldn’t accept a tip on the credit card.

Eat frozen. It has nothing to do with Mexican food. I wouldn't recommend it. I don't understand the 4 stars either. I would rethink something about the recipe Quesadillas with runner beans? And carrots?
