Erbil in Berlin

They verbally say “Everything is halal” but on menu they have written at bottom in small writing that they use sauces, syrups which might contain gluten and barley ingredients. I was very happy at start I can eat halal food here with no worries but when I ordered lamb plate and was looking at the menu while waiting, I found this at the bottom of menu. Very disappointed and will never eat here again.

The food was delicious, I highly recommend the lamb with rice, perfectly seasoned, and you get a delicious soup while waiting for the food!

Everything we ordered was exceptional. The minced lamb kebab was my favourite. Perfectly seasoned and spiced, tender, fresh meat. Bread, soup, salads were all fresh and delicious. Biryani was basic but good :)

Erbil is an absolute gem in Berlin! The food is phenomenal — fresh, flavorful, and made from whole ingredients with real home-cooking from scratch. The prices are great for the quality you get. We loved it so much that we ate here every single day of our vacation (6 days in a row). It’s a family-run restaurant, and the energy is contagious. Mahmoud and his brother were top notch — always warm, courteous, and accommodating. They even remembered our orders and made sure my wife, who has gluten and lactose intolerance, was well taken care of. We truly felt like family every time we walked in. If you’re looking for authentic food, welcoming people, and an all-around wonderful experience, Erbil is the place.

Very good restaurant! A variety of Kurdish dishes at reasonable prices. I particularly liked the makali – so well-seasoned. And the staff are very friendly. What more could you want?

Highly recommended restaurant. Since it's a bit out of town, the prices are also very reasonable. If you're not sure what to eat, you can put together a meat skewer, for example.

I love this restaurant, the tandoori bread (mozarella or oregano) with Pinkki dip, it's so good, also the lamb and its grilled preparation. Always they gif a lilltle soup entrance that remembers my mother. The garlic and spice hot souces are so good too. The staff is so friendly. Recommended

Very good restaurant with somewhat rushed dining room service but very good dishes and a large selection.

Tried lunch here today and was super satisfied! I had a lamb laffa – fresh, flavorful and really good. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Large and exciting selection of Kurdish food that really stands out from the crowd – fun with something different from the usual! Highly recommended if you want to try something new and really good in Berlin.

The food at the Erbil Restaurant is simply unbelievably delicious! The dishes are freshly prepared, well-seasoned, and authentic. The service was very friendly and attentive. The ambiance is also cozy and inviting—you immediately feel at home. I highly recommend this restaurant. I'm glad I did and I'm glad I did.

Great food, great service and a very nice vibe

The place was a pleasant surprise. One of the waiters who took the order forgot everything, mixed it up, but the other waiter, a lady, immediately corrected the mistake, calmly and kindly. And regardless of all that, they gave me a surprise vegetable soup as a gift. 🙂

I highly recommend the dip platter, it’s a great way to try all the flavors the menu has to offer! My favorite dip was the one with dates, but they were all delicious. Also got a vegetarian eggplant and bulgar wheat dish which was satiating and flavorful.

You can tell that Mahmood and his team put their heart and soul into their work, as the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, and you immediately feel welcome. Everything is clean and comfortable, and the drinks are fresh and good. I always enjoy coming here – thank you for the great food and hospitality.

Delicious lamb platter, the right spot for lunch

One of the best Kurdish restaurants I ever dined out. My favourite item from their menu was lamb skewer, which was so delicious. We also order chicken skewer, hummus, and zatar bread. They have an oven and freshly bake their bread few seconds before serving. Erbil restaurant is a great place to grab lunch or dinner!

The best way I could describe this restaurant is unpretentious, which is not a word usually associated with restaurants but it’s the first thing that came to mind. Very cozy and warm, inviting perhaps simple? But don’t let that fool you - they serve incredibly good food with generous portions, amazing service. They had vegetarian options too. Can be unassuming for the outside but certainly worth a visit!

I visited the Erbil Restaurant today and was very satisfied. I ordered grilled dishes, biryani rice with bean stew, and eggplant stew – everything was delicious, as if homemade. The flavors were authentic and reminded me very much of Iraq. After the meal, I enjoyed a delicious traditional Iraqi black tea. The cleanliness and service were excellent, and the prices were reasonable. I will definitely come back with friends next time. I highly recommend it.

I had dinner there today with my friends, the food was extremely tasty, the staff is very friendly and nice and the atmosphere of the establishment was extremely nice. There were also options for vegetarians. We ordered large plates of various specialties to share and were asked who would like to eat vegetarian/vegan. My personal highlight was that there was garlic oil on the table that you could put on the food yourself. :D I found the bread very tasty and the meat nice and tender, vegetables and meat were very tasty and you could also order delicious dips with it. If you want to eat traditional Kurdish food, I would definitely recommend the restaurant.

We were there yesterday at lunchtime, but I still wanted to have breakfast, which wasn't a problem at all, even though we were late, something was prepared for me. Unfortunately, my husband and the waiter talked past each other. I wanted to fry eggs with tomatoes and onions, but I only got eggs and onions and fresh tomatoes on the side, which wasn't a bad thing, but it still tasted good. The starters, soup and the homemade bread were also very tasty. My husband ordered a sandwich, which he also liked, all in all, a very good shop would eat there again when we are in Berlin.

I ate there with my family yesterday and I can only recommend it. We ate small starters first and the tandoor bread with sesame was just sooo good! We ordered two large mixed platters, which included biryani and white rice, and various types of meat on top. Additionally bread, salad, torshi and a small plate with the dips. I was particularly surprised by the lamb shoulder because it was so juicy and tender. The homemade Ayran was the perfect drink for such a meal. Finally, we drank chai with some delicious cinnamon and nut cookies. All in one: a must-try restaurant!

Kurdish restaurant, but the staff don't speak Kurdish and the food isn't tasty. It's a 45-minute drive from the Iraqi consulate to the restaurant in Arbil. It was worth it. I don't recommend it.

Absolutely delicious food, and very generous portions!!! I cannot talk highly enough about their bread or about their sauce called “pinky” (made of dates, spice and sour cream). It was amazing. The veggie dishes were also great. The staff were kind and thoughtful. Was truly a great dinner!

Yo estaba en viaje de negocios en Berlín cenamos en el restaurante de al lado, que era bueno y vi este restaurante decidió el siguiente venir a experimentar este lugar WOW qué comida excepcional que tuve su inicio con pan recién horneado seguido de famosa parrilla con su hijo de biryani. El kabeb estaba fuera de este mundo extremadamente sabroso. El personal es un buen ambiente era increíble y un montón de diferentes nacionalidades estaba disfrutando de su comida aquí, incluyendo alemán local. Recomiendo encarecidamente el lugar para visitar.

Friendly, going above and beyond. Exceptionally well made bread. The makali (vegan) was my introduction to the Kurdish kitchen and I loved every bite. Soup was also very good! Hands down the best you can eat in this street!
