Enjoyed the food but the big waiter was so annoying and rude.. he was difficult about us having tap water and was not easy to talk to.

Sadly underwhelmed by this place after seeing the high ratings & reviews. The food was ok-good. The bread was dry & boring, the lobster small in size, the lamb undercooked and crepe suzette obviously frozen and not authentic. For the price - we expected more.

A good French restaurant that we visited twice. The food was good and the services were excellent! It gave a good French feel. The first time we went there without booking. We sat in the most inner section of the restaurant. It was hot (high 20C) and there was no air condition. When the other guests left, the atmosphere became cold. We reserved a table for the second time. We sat in the front section and the atmosphere was excellent. The waiters were very friendly and attentive. Recommended!

The restaurant offers fine dining and is aimed at guests on a slightly larger budget, although budget-friendly dishes are also available. The service staff spoke either French or a difficult-to-understand German with a strong accent, which sometimes led to communication problems. **Eat:** **Starter:** We ordered the carpaccio twice, which was very tasty and left nothing to be desired. The soup we tried was also tasty. **Main dish:** An entrecôte with thin fries and Béarnaise sauce was ordered. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and tasted great. The fries were tasty, but difficult to eat with a fork - chopsticks would have been helpful :). The Béarnaise sauce was not to my liking and detracted from the enjoyment, so it was not used. Another person at the table ordered asparagus and Wiener Schnitzel. A third person had the tuna steak on mashed potatoes, and the fourth person had an entrecôte with seasonal vegetables. Everyone enjoyed the food very much. Some of us had dessert, which was also well received. Service was generally polite and attentive. Everything was very tidy and we ate with silver cutlery. A little fun fact: Angela Merkel was in the restaurant at the same time and was sitting a few tables away from us.

I was very intrigued by this restaurant with its positive reviews. The rating is just off the charts. And so, after taking a couple of photos at check point Charlie, I skipped off to lunch. The restaurant was half full at lunch time. There was no need to wait. To be honest, I didn’t even open the menu. After looking at the photo of the food menu on Google, the order was made in my head. On the way to the restaurant, I already knew what I wanted. My order is: - onion soup 🍜 - entrecote steak 🥩 ‐ glass of Bordeaux 🍷 - chocolate fondant 🥧. To be honest, of all this, only the chocolate fondant let me down. The chocolate had already spread on the plate when served and it was not the most delicious 😋 fondant. I definitely recommend it. If you want to experience a GASTRONOMIC ORGASM, this is the place for you. I’m posting a photo of the crime 😊. Well, now about the shortcomings, and they exist. When serving, the onion soup 🍜 almost slipped off the plate, the girl was not careful, it could have been grief, it was hot, there was no apology. She just turned around and left, fixing the dish herself. The French language 😝 is of course beautiful, but I only heard angry instructions, orders and reprimands to the staff. They were just being drilled, but there are visitors in the restaurant, why should I listen to this 🤷‍♂️? It would be better to include classical French music. The fondant had already leaked out when serving, but should have died from my cut 🔪. When ordering, they offered white wine to go with the meat, which to me is nonsense. The attitude towards visitors is not equal to everyone, I noticed how they served a young Muslim couple, it was very cool. The location of the toilet directly under the kitchen raises many questions. The steps are worn out and require improvement. Bottom line: the prices are worthy of excellent food, but the service also needs to be raised to a high level accordingly.

A wonderful French restaurant in the middle of the city center. Nevertheless, there is a relaxed calm about her. The food is unique.

Majority of the waiters were very cocky and not personable, lacked a bit of friendliness but others were very helpful, hostess also. Wish i saw more smiles :)

The price is of course in the higher segment, but you can notice the excellent quality of the meat. The ambience is not too stiff and you can spend a relaxing evening.

One of my favourite Brasseries. And this one in Berlin. The food is outstanding. I was never disappointed, always surprised and have been returning over the past 10 years. Great atmosphere.

Long-established restaurant with consistently good quality food. It's the mix that counts: politicians, journalists, business people. Lively restaurant, the owner is often on site and many waiters are buzzing around the shop. Not for a quiet evening, but I like the atmosphere.

Good place for dinner. The food is delicious. And presented beautifully. We felt welcome here. We had a great time on the outdoor terrace, despite the fact that it started to rain.

Great experience from the minute we entered to the end of our dinner. Sweet and efficient service without being intrusive, awesome food and wine selection. We tried black angus chateaubriand, chicken, foie gras and oysters, everything tasted like a great home cooked meal: fresh, juicy, no excessive heaviness, just perfect. Price/quality absolutely justified. There’s also a huge dessert menu but I didn’t make it that far this time. I also found the lightning and the atmosphere very pleasant, will definitely be back!

Exquisite food and excellent, yet unobtrusively friendly service; it just has its price.

A really great shop. In my humble opinion, they have the best steak (fillet) in town. Baby spinach as a side dish. 🥰 The whiskey sours (with egg foam) are extremely good. What needs to be emphasized is that the service is outstanding. Attentive, friendly, quick and organized. An employee once smelled cork as he walked past our table. So before we could drink the wine, he had already changed the bottle. Clear recommendation!

The ambience of the restaurant was nice, but despite making a reservation early, we were seated at a door where employees were coming in and out. Rather disruptive when eating and chatting. The waiter was friendly but not very attentive. We also had to wait about 40 minutes for our entrecôout, even though the restaurant wasn't full at the time. Unfortunately, the meat was tough and the matchstick fries weren't great either. I would have expected more for the high price. In any case, I won't be coming back!

By far the best meal (beef fillet) with beans and spinach that I have eaten internationally. Here you have found a new regular guest who was obviously telling his friends how great it is here. Thanks to the chef and the service

The quality of the food is very good, but I don't think the price-performance ratio is balanced. The restaurant seems to be based on the concept of entrecôte in France, but it doesn't come close to the original.

Recently dined there - while the location is really welcoming and charming, the food doesn't measure to expectations, with especially a bad quality/price ratio. Good fries (allumettes), but poor chateaubriand. It's the kind of restaurant were you shall go for the bottle rather than the glass. Nice service, present and responsive.

I like this restaurant, we often come here with our colleagues and at lunchtime I had the feeling that there were more people from the neighboring office buildings here than tourists. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and anyone who speaks French will probably understand a little more. The prices have increased significantly (like probably everywhere). I was around 25-30 euros with a starter and a normal main course, or I would have ended up with a drink at around 30 euros. The prices for the day ticket etc. are even higher. As always, the food tasted very good. What really bothered me, however, is the fact that as a vegetarian you don't have any fun here, which I never noticed before. Don't get me wrong, I know what the restaurant is called, but when you go somewhere with a group, you don't want to spoil their fun. Personally, I discovered 3 dishes that would have been possible. So in conclusion, a safe choice for good food, even if it is a bit more expensive in my opinion, but as a vegetarian you'd better look for something else.

The steak was amazing. A very good option to not break your bank account and eating good steak. Grill risk is amazing but if you have a low budget here’s the place to get domo really good meat!!!

Just an outstanding meal. Great food, delightful service, warm ambiance were exactly what I wanted. I have not had crepes Suzette for a long time and just perfect. I could not have been happier. And I have tried Calvados at other restaurants but clearly the Calvados here is the real one because it was so flavorful and smooth. It’s in my Top 5 dining experiences. Definitely will go back when I’m in Berlin.

Sehr gutes Restaurant, um sich einen schönen Abend zu machen. Ebenfalls geeignet, um geschäftlich zu essen. Man kann an sich mit dieser Lokalität nichts falsch machen. Jedoch sei gesagt, dass dies nichts für den schmalen Geldbeutel ist.

Sehr leckeres Essen und freundliche Bedienung. Zwar sehr hochpreisig (34-45€ für ein Stück Entrecôte) aber meiner Einschätzung nach den Preis Wert und zu empfehlen.

Teuer? Ja ist es sicher, aber zu recht. Französösisch, klassisch authentisch und ungemütlich eingerichtete Brasserie. Eine große und vielfältige Speisekarte überraschte mich sehr. Hier findet jeder etwas und sicher auch spezielles. Die separate Dessert Karte lässt kaum Wünsche offen und ein muss genug Platz für ein Dessert zu lassen. Die Zutaten sind qualitativ gut ob Gemüse, Fleisch oder Obst hatte Farbe, Spannung, Konsistenz und war sehr frisch. Die Speisen werden auf Bestellung frisch zubereitet. Hübsch und einer Brasserie entsprechend üppig angerichtet kommt in angemessenen Abständen die Gänge auf den Tisch. Kein Französisch fine Dining, also klein klein sondern vorsicht beim Bestellen denken Sie an dass Dessert. Geschmacklich war alles durchweg sehr gut besonders die Sauce Bernaise, das Entrecote, Crêpes susette. Auch bei Getränken und Weine ist die Auswahl gut und vielfältig. Wir hatten leider nur alkoholfreie Getränke. Der Service ist freundlich und geschult. Mir wurde trotz meiner vielen Fragen gefühlt gern geholfen. Fazit: Vorspeise, Hauptgericht, Dessert und alkoholfreie Getränke für ca. 75 € pro Person ist für dass hier gebotene eine Aufwertung der Seele. Tip: Aus dem Fastfood Steakhaus Blockhouse kommen Sie kaum günstiger davon.

Schönes Restaurant, mit kleinen Kritikpunkten. Lange wollten wir das Entrecôte besuchen, und waren von Erzählungen bereits voller Vorfreude. Empfangen wurden wir bereits sehr freundlich, und erlebten das Personal auch als nett und bemüht. Leider ging jedoch der Großteil der Servicekräfte an unserem Tisch vorbei und schenkte kein Wasser nach. Normalerweise würde uns das nicht stören, jedoch ist in der Preisklasse, in welcher sich das Restaurant bewegt, dies durchaus üblich. Das Essen schmeckte ebenfalls gut: Besonders begeistert waren wir, dass das Tatar vor den Augen zubereitet wird, und man auch die Zutaten selbst mitbestimmen kann. Auch wird der Fisch vor den Augen filetiert, was uns ebenfalls beeindruckt hat. Enttäuscht waren wir hingegen von dem Dessert: Die Crème brûlée war sehr fest, eher puddingartig als cremig. Das Schokoladentörtchen war außen trocken, fast ein bisschen verbrannt. Dafür wurde sich entschuldigt, und die Crème brûlée von der Rechnung gestrichen, was wir wiederum als sehr netten Service empfanden. Auch bestellten wir noch einen Cocktail, dieser war ebenfalls sehr lecker und hübsch anzusehen. Alles in allem ärgert uns das Dessert demnach noch ein bisschen mehr, da wir dem Restaurant fünf Sterne gegeben hätten, wäre dieses auch so gut wie das restliche Essen gewesen. Wir würden dennoch wiederkommen, aber in der Tat kein Dessert mehr bestellen.

I recently dined at this restaurant, and while the food was excellent, the service had its ups and downs. Our assigned waiter was friendly, but unfortunately, some others didn't quite meet the same standard. The steak was fantastic, and the side menu offered a variety of tasty options. The prices were reasonable considering the quality of the food. The atmosphere was pleasant, creating a nice overall experience. Despite the mixed service, I would recommend this place to everyone based on the delicious food and inviting ambiance.

Fabulous French restaurant with a truly authentic menu, reasonably priced and fantastic service make this a must visit if you are a French food fan. We had a good mix of meat, the Le Steak option is amazing value at €21 for a small steak and fries and more than adequate quantity for our teenage daughters. Talking of French fries, these things are maybe the best fries I have had outside of France! The Steak Tartare was perfect and also very reasonably priced, and at €30 I actually thought it was a starter, but in fact, it was a main course. Only issue I had was that the Mousse Chocolate was too large and could have fed 2 people so you have been warned! Service was exemplary and way ahead of the price point on offer here as, bearing in mind it was a fully booked restaurant, you would expect the service to suffer, but it was truly exemplary. Highly recommended. We will be back!

In Berlin seit Jahren mein Lieblingsrestaurant. Bei jedem Berlin-Besuch obligatorisch! Fleisch und klassische französische Küche sind der rote Faden der Speisekarte. Gleichhohes Niveau seit Jahren. Madame hat Ihren Laden im Griff.

Sehr freundlicher Service, sehr aufmerksam beim Nachschenken und das Essen auch gut, bis auf ein leider etwas durchwachsenes Entrecote, etwas ironisch beim Namen.

Das Essen war sehr gut und der Service außerordentlich aufmerksam. Natürlich hatten wir alle das Entrecôte mit Pommes Allumettes und Béchamel Sauce. Zum Nachtisch gab es Crêpes Suzette.

Es ist immer ein eigener Geschmack der entscheidet. Ich war mit einer Gruppe da: Vorspeise, Kürbissuppe, war klasse, Hauptgang , Gänsekeule mit Rotkohl,war eine 3 da teilweise nicht richtig heiß. Nachtisch eine 4-, warmer Apfelstrudel mit Eis, Sahne,Maronen: war nicht warm Maronen hart. Ich und meine Mitbesucher waren enttäuscht Die Bedienung war klasse: immer ein Blick ob was fehlt oder nachgefüllt werden soll. Fazit: Es soll hier sehr lecker sein, besser aus der Karte bestellen als einzelne Besucher. Das was ich an den Nachbartischen sehen konnte, sa sehr ansprechend aus. Ich denke es mal auszuprobieren.

Von Anfang bis Ende war die Erfahrung durch und durch bemerkenswert.Was unseren Abend jedoch wirklich herausragend machte, war der exorbitant gute Service, den wir von Basti und seiner Crew erleben durften. Seine aufmerksame Art und sein Engagement für unser Wohlbefinden haben unseren Aufenthalt zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis gemacht. Er schaffte es, 30 Gäste mit Leichtigkeit zu bedienen, ohne dabei die Qualität seines Service zu vernachlässigen. Basti war stets präsent, um sicherzustellen, dass jeder Wunsch erfüllt wurde, und seine freundliche Art trug zu einer fröhlichen und entspannten Atmosphäre bei. I visited this restaurant for the first time in 2022, just happened to stumble upon it. It turned out to be an abs hidden gem. We got the menu de classique, after our berlin visit i haven’t been able to forget this restaurant. So this year i just had to revisit, the service was super friendly and caring, while waiting to be seated we were sat by the bar. The atmosphere can be overwhelming for some, a-bit loud but i think it also adds to the charm of the place. The location is also so underrated you would expect this place to be super expensive but for 110€ for two people (including: salad, fries, steak, dessert and wine) is quite good. Waiters are also super attentive and show their hospitality well. 10/10 would recommend!

Heute Abend zum ersten Mal hier, sehr leckeres französisches Essen ohne großen Schnickschnack. Hummersuppe vorweg, perfekt gegrilltes Steak mit wundervollen Pommes frites, Dessert Crêpes Suzette, gute Getränke; Preis für die Lage angemessen und sehr zuvorkommender Service.

My sister and I finally booked after staring into this restaurant every Berlin trip each November. We had a memorable evening. Place was buzzing- not a table free. You must book. I had a delightful phone call early this morning- before we even left Edinburgh- to ask if we were coming. Yes! Try the special Coq au vin- super. Or the salmon with matchstick frites and tasty salad. Puddings were wonderful with a super choice- we shared crepes suzette and tarte Tatin. Every mouthful was delicious. We expected to order wine but stuck to fresh beer. No space for coffee. Service was friendly and professional- tableware stylish and traditional. The rooms are warm and welcoming. We can’t recommend highly enough. It wasn’t as expensive as we feared- we’ll start every trip eating there. It’s not far from our hotel Mercure Checkpoint Charlie, off the main street but offers a wonderful dining experience. French cuisine but the food feels familiar- just very well done.

Höherpreisig, aber jeden Cent wert! Die französische Kultur ist mehr eine Esskultur, als sie deutsche. Dieses Restaurant repräsentiert genau das. Hochqualitative Speisen, noch mehr verfeinert und dennoch belassen. Die Speisekarte ist abwechslungsreich: Fleisch, Fisch, Meeresfrüchte, dazu allerlei Beilagen. Zum Nachtisch kann man Käse wählen und sollte dies auch. Der Camembert darunter ist einmalig. Die Weinkarte ist gleichsam besonders. Insgesamt sehr verlockend, ein tiefes Loch in seinen Geldbeutel zu reißen und immer wieder zu kommen. Vielen Dank für dieses kulinarische Erlebnis! Immer wieder sehr empfehlenswert.

Waren zu einem Geschäftsessen dort. Hatte also Veganer vorab angefragt und man hat mir ein sehr leckeres Menü zu einem erschwinglichen Preis kredenzt. War sehr angetan von der Flexibilität, würde mich natürlich dennoch über vegane Gerichte auf der Karte freuen. Service und Atmosphäre waren auch top.

La nourriture était très bonne, élaborée et servie en bonne quantité mais c'est la qualité du service qui me donne envie d'y retourner. Éric et Solenne nous ont accueilli comme des rois: ils ont été attentionnés, sympathiques, avec le soucis du détail et du travail bien fait. Leurs recommandations en vin étaient super avec nos plats.

Im Grunde die perfekte gehobene Brasserie. Atmosphäre, Weinauswahl, Essen sowieso, die Käseauswahl nicht zu vergessen, alles ganz außerordentlich. Viele Klassiker der französischen Küche auf der Karte, der Service sehr aufmerksam. Wann immer ich in Berlin bin, versuche ich, einen Abend dort zu verbringen. Bereut habe ich es noch nie.

sehr angenehme Atmosphäre, gute französische Bistro-Küche (plus). Weinauswahl ausreichend aber vielleicht ein visschen zu sehr upscale, es fehlt das Mittelmaß, was aber nur eine Petitesse ust angesichts der wirklich guten cuisine. Besonders zu erwähnen ust due Dessert-Karte, die ile flottante war perfekt.

Cooler Laden mit etwas französischer Weltläufkeit/Hochnäsigkeit. Tolles Essen.

für mich klare 5 Sterne. Das beste Classic Menü in der Stadt. Die Pommes allumettes sind ein Traum. Es ist immer ein bisschen wie nach Hause kommen.
