Ella - Restaurant & Café am Königsplatz in München

I love having breakfast here. The service is very attentive and friendly. The breakfast selection is excellent. I've been here with friends, family, my child, and even alone, and I've been satisfied every time. Highly recommended.

Although the business lunch price has increased substantially over the years, the food and service was still good.

Unfortunately, the staff at the counter were completely overwhelmed. There were a lot of waiters there, but somehow none of them were responsible for serving the line at the counter, so one man had to fight his way through. Despite the stress, he wasn't unfriendly! It's also unacceptable that it feels like every other employee is walking around chewing while the place is packed. We skipped ordering food; who knows when it would have been ready.

A very nice location on Königsplatz with a cozy terrace and a view. 🤓The service was perfect during the day, and very attentive in the evening. Unfortunately, my meal, the duck breast, didn't impress me either in terms of its cuisine or its price. Unfortunately, high-quality wines are nowhere to be found. It's a shame. Otherwise, everything was excellent. I'd be happy to go back.

I think we just had the nicest waitress in the world. I can't comment on the food, but the service was excellent. We were there in the summer and sat inside (most of the guests were on the terrace), so it was relatively quiet but still cool.

Tip top breakfast in lovely surroundings. We tried to get a coffee around the corner but they only accepted cash. We found Ella Monaco and had delicious food(Thai omelette and B'Ella Italia) with great, friendly service Now off to find the Pinakothek der Moderne

After visiting the exhibitions at the Lenbachhaus, we stopped by Ella for coffee and were immediately greeted warmly. Based on our recommendation, we opted for breakfast and were very impressed by the value for money and the friendly service. We'd love to come back next time we're in Munich.

I've been to the café twice now for work, and the staff were incredibly rude and inattentive. What a shame for such a great museum.

Absolutely excellent service. The waitress treated all guests with wonderful courtesy and friendliness. When something went wrong with my order, the problem was resolved immediately and without fuss. The ambiance, the view, the location – simply perfect.

The food was an absolute highlight. Unfortunately, the service seemed poorly organized, and we had to wait a long time for everything, including drinks and food. However, everyone was very friendly, and the price/performance ratio would have been perfectly acceptable, if the ambiance had also been perfect. 😉

I wanted to eat at Ella for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic. Business lunch until 3 p.m., arrived at 2 p.m., well attended but not full, lots of retirees. Fair prices: business lunch €19.80 with a starter, wine €4-7 by the glass. Great cake buffet. After 10 minutes, two cakes are placed in front of me. I didn't order them. Cakes are cleared away, not a word from two waitresses. Next door, a waitress and three people are telling each other their life stories. I may be petty, but after 20 minutes, no greeting, no questions about drinks, I don't even know who's in charge. Unfortunately, even as a self-employed person, my time is limited. The food must be excellent, friends say. When I retire, I'll try it. I'll have time then.

Very bad experience : I went there for lunch time and a lovely lady advised me to go to the bar.I stayed there and no one cared about me . Then seeing a free table ,I asked if I could sit and a man refused only because I was alone.He suggested to go to the bar..... It is terribly offending !!!! It is a shame in 2025 and in Bayern to see a refusal in a restaurant just because you are alone and you are making less money than a couple or a family !!

Very bad experience, we had to ask to 4 people where to order coffe to go, coffe was very expensive 5.5 euros each and no much flavour but the worst thing it was the barista on saturday afternoon, he very rude and angry. I will never come back

Great ambience. Staff extremely quick and friendly. Food very good. Any intolerances have been taken into account. And not the usual sweet Prosecco, but a Brut and a Franciacorta, even by the glass. Top recommendation

Had a really great afternoon lunch at ELLA a couple days ago! The waitress was super friendly, the Pasta Arrabiata was the best I've had (really diverse in flavor) and an amazing Crème Brûlée as desert! My Maracuja Spritz was delicious as well :) Can definitely recommend and will come again!

Reserve a table for breakfast before visiting the Lenbachhaus. With a view of Königsplatz we felt like kings. Very friendly staff, great breakfast and a perfect latte macchiato. Thank you for the lovely hour.

Sorry but 5 euros for a 0.2 drink and hardly any choice other than Fanta doesn't justify the location. Since it doesn't take long to drink a 0.2 soda, we would be thrown out after 20 minutes, at half past six, and it's over at 6 p.m. I live around the corner and I definitely won't be coming back.

Wanted to drink coffee outside yesterday (there were several people sitting there). Since no service staff showed up after a long time, we tried to order directly at the counter inside: no result - we were totally ignored (like two other people waiting there). So we went to a nearby Cotidiano, where we were greeted and served very nicely! It works!

I was so excited! The food was incredibly amazing and the service from Sheriff and Damier was exceptional! You won't find such great staff so quickly. We immediately felt at home - thank you again for the great evening!!

It's probably great to sit outside in summer, as they have a big outdoor area. Inside is nothing special, the place can get pretty busy especially during lunch. The portions are medium, prices are a bit higher than usual, but the taste is awesome.

Unfortunately, the lovely terrace is often closed when the sun is shining. Not even when you get an espresso at the bar and pay for it yourself. Unfortunately, this has happened to me quite often in nice spring weather. The food is too experimental for me, unfortunately. I used to like it much better and it tasted better.

A pleasant place where you can serve a coffee on a weekend day, after visiting the museum. However, you should expect to stand in line sometimes during the weekend. I recommend with confidence!

The staff is friendly, but seems a bit disorganized. We had the dish of the day (very tough veal boiled beef) as well as an espresso and were served by 4 different employees. Despite our advanced age, we were treated mercilessly. Despite the nice staff and the beautiful location, there was no atmosphere because the restaurant is very restless and there is senseless stress. Too bad! Not recommended after a visit to a museum.

Great food, very good value for money. You don't notice that you're eating gluten-free. And those affected by celiac disease can be completely relaxed.

The Ella in the Lenbachhaus is ideal as part of a museum visit as well as for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. A reservation is recommended but not absolutely necessary. The risotto with porcini mushrooms is e.g. B. very good, cake and dessert also recommended. There is a terrace and inside you can also sit very nicely by the large windows. The service is friendly and accommodating.

Very nice atmosphere. You can have a café there and have a nice meal there. To my surprise, there were real meals there. I found the price level to be relatively high, but the falafel was very tasty. We sat very comfortably at the smaller tables and had a great chat even though there was a lot going on. Service was very friendly. But you had to wait a while for your order. I'd love to come back.

The three of us had lunch at lunchtime. The service was friendly and professional. The meal was excellent. And coffee and espresso are almost even better. Unfortunately we couldn't try the dessert because we were completely full from one starter for three and three main courses. We'd love to come back.

A gem among museum restaurants. Quiet, dignified atmosphere inside, sunny terrace outside, plus creative, fine cuisine with reasonable prices. We had duck breast with Jerusalem artichokes and Brussels sprouts and pulled beef croquettes with white kimchi and mayonaise. Both fine. Worth a visit even without a museum visit.

We had called 2 weeks in advance for our wedding anniversary on December 12th. reserved in the evening. When we got to the restaurant everything was prepared for a private party and our reservation was neither known nor of interest. What further disappointed me was that it was dismissed succinctly and there was no real apology. Too bad! Goodbye Ella!

Was here as part of a company party, the cocktails were a bit bland, the food was good, I would have liked to have skipped the turkey sauce, the vegetarian alternatives would have been too simple for me. The waitresses were attentive and friendly, especially the women. Starter and dessert were good. It's a bit expensive because of the proximity to the Lenbachhaus, especially the vegetarian dishes.

We were at Ella's again on a sunny afternoon in autumn. The restaurant was well attended, and there were also a few people sitting on the terrace. The place is just beautiful, the restaurant could do with a little renovation in one place or another. The service was quick and very friendly. The food was also very good and not expensive by Munich standards. We were completely satisfied!

Pancakes Delicious hot cakes with enough syrup for two servings and also has jam and fruit. Better with bacon. They don't have lactose-free milk, but a black coffee is the option and better after eating so much sweets. beautiful view

We were there on the last day of the eating class. The menu was very tasty. The selection of individual wines was very good. There was a small increase in each course, and everything was explained very well and technically. Thank you for the nice service, praise for the excellent cuisine. We'll be back soon.

Cozy restaurant/café in the Lembachhaus. In summer you can sit outside, but of course not anymore in November. There are little things to eat, the cake tastes good. A little expensive, but okay. Can also be visited without visiting the museum. The best way to reach Lembachplatz is by subway. Parking spaces are rather difficult to find. I have rarely experienced such a polite and courteous service employee!

Brilliant evening with the dining class menu: divinely imaginative food, the service was outstanding without being annoyingly intrusive. The wines went really well with the courses in a way that you rarely experience. There is plenty of space between the tables and you can have a good conversation. The decor is cool, modern, reserved - very appropriate.

Yesterday the four of us went to Ella and took part in the eating class there. We were completely thrilled, the food was excellent and, thanks to Julia, the service was excellent. Thank you for the great evening

The camp is great, sitting on the terrace is lovely, especially on sunny days. However, the waitresses seemed overwhelmed over the last few visits; we waited a long time for our food and didn't get it together. The taste is mediocre and the price is upscale. So for me it's now a place for a cozy coffee, but nothing more.

We waited almost 30 minutes until someone took pity on us and took our order. Staff listless and demotivated. The foccacia was carelessly prepared and ice cold. Not recommended at all!

To the ESS class at ELLA. Great ambience, great service and outstanding cuisine in terms of quality and presentation. Personally greeted by GF at the table is also a pleasant gesture. Even a meat-free alternative was found quickly and without any problems. Hmmmm very tasty. All in all, happy again.

As I often do, I was at Ella, which to this day is one of my absolute favorites in Munich. Unfortunately, my visit was overshadowed by a very unpleasant experience: Due to a Reich citizens demonstration, the restaurant was unfortunately visited today by people who openly displayed right-wing extremist ideas. It was really depressing no matter where you looked. I would have liked a place like Ella to clearly distance itself from such people. Unfortunately, the opportunity was not used to take a clear stance against extremist ideologies. That's why I'll take the opportunity and distance myself from this restaurant in the future. I would have expected more attitude. Not every sale is worthwhile! It's a shame that no attitude was shown! A restaurant for everyone… will perhaps be one of many arguments. Goodbye Ela

We went to this cafe yesterday and had a lovely time. The employees are very friendly and personable. The cake and drinks were very tasty. The ambience with a view of Königsplatz is of course the cherry on the cake.

A very good breakfast with adequate value for money. What I liked most was the attention and kindness of those who serve
