We ate here for the first time, usually driving past it, and I don't understand why :) although it looks so beautiful from the outside, and inside too :) We were here with my son, the food was delicious, the portion was generous and filling :) I would have liked to have something else, but I was already full :) The service was very nice, super friendly, fast, and you really didn't feel left alone there; they asked questions and paid attention to everything, TOP. Five of us went there for dinner today. It was our first visit to the Elfenfohren. The first impression was great, nice location and friendly staff. We chose seasonal items (asparagus) and menu items. The food was outstanding! Drinks, starters, main courses, desserts and espresso arrived after a short wait. The service was polite and attentive. All in all it was a great experience. We will come back more often in the future; the sauerbraten alone is worth a visit. Big compliments to the entire Elfenfohren team.

We were able to celebrate a lovely family celebration here with 12 people. In addition to the variants on the menu, there were daily recommendations. Steaks 🥩 were prepared according to everyone's wishes. The service was courteous and always with a smile. We spent a lovely lunch here. Highly recommended.

Very tasty food and very friendly service

A very cozy restaurant with excellent dishes. I've rarely eaten such a good schnitzel. The salad is like "mother's homemade." Friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere. We were there last Saturday for a family celebration with 30 people. The menu was excellent. The service couldn't have been better, and the Christmas decorations were lovingly arranged and very cozy. We thank the entire team and look forward to our next meal.

Today we celebrated our wedding in a small group in the elf room. It was more than great. Food, service, ambience e more than great 👌👌all the guests liked it and tasted great. Peter and the team keep it up 👌😘 It was really great. Update 11/22/24 We now eat here at least 2 or 3 times a month after our wedding. It's unbeatable, we sometimes go somewhere else but we always come back to Elfenfohren. It's cozy, the cook brings the food to the table himself, as is his old tradition, asks everyone around if it tastes good and likes to have a little chat (where else can you get that?) and the service staff are great, no matter who the service is there and of course his wife is always there. Above all, everything is homemade, be it the soups, the meat that comes from our own farm and the surrounding area... I can't stop raving about it, so if you're ever in the area stop by and eat something. Tip: call ahead to see if a table is available I can really, really recommend it

We were there today with our three children. The service, food, and atmosphere were top-notch. We'd love to come back.

We were there for the first time on Sunday, it was delicious, even my picky daughter ate everything. Very, very nice, attentive service, super delicious food. We'll definitely be back.

Went there spontaneously for lunch today and there was a great atmosphere and very friendly welcome and service. Here the boss cooks himself and that's how it tastes... delicious and finally warm hot plates. We will definitely come back and would be happy to recommend this location 👍🏻

We were in this restaurant for the first time today. And we were very positively impressed. Ambiance, service, friendliness of the innkeepers, simply perfect. And then there’s the delicious food. The salad beforehand was very tasty. Even the kids ate it. 🤭 Plus the cool drinks in very nice weather with wonderful sunshine. We sat in the beer garden, clean, quiet and very comfortable 🫶🏼 We would be happy to be there again as guests. LG 🙋🏼‍♀️

Rustic atmosphere, nice service and delicious food.

We had a very tasty lunch with cabbage vegetables and schnitzel or fried black pudding. Simple and therefore really tasty. There was also a very nice conversation with the innkeeper, who had actually already finished lunchtime. Overall, a nice experience in the Sauerland.

There were two of us there. We liked everything very much. A very nice and cozy atmosphere, very nice and friendly service, the food was super tasty, the meat tasted wonderful and the side dishes were fresh and cooked to perfection. Typical Sauerland cuisine, very well and tasty cooked. The meat comes from our own production. At the same time, the restaurant is nice and cozy and the service is very friendly and attentive.

Wir waren heute zum ersten Mal in diesem Restaurant und waren schlichtweg begeistert. Von der Vorspeise bis zur Nachspeise war jedes Gericht schmackhaft und von guter Qualität. Dieses Restaurant hat definitiv 4 Stammgäste dazu gewonnen.

Klein aber fein Deutsche Hausmannskost gut gemacht

Wir waren gestern zu 4 Personen und Hund bei euch essen. Ein sehr schöner Besuch und ohne Einschränkung weiter zu empfehlen. Angefangen bei der freundlichen, flotten und kompetenten Bedienung über die geschmacklich und mengenmäßig erstklassigen Speisen zum fairen Preis bis zur sensationell guten Nachspeise (Pflaumeneis) und den Getränken einfach rundherum stimmig und erstklassig.

Essen war sehr gut! Rumpsteak ist auch zu empfehlen!

Ein "Sauerbraten" nur mit einer sauren Soße ist kein Sauerbraten. Knödel nicht zu definieren und der Rotkohl schmeckte wie aus dem Glas. Mein Filetgeschnetzeltes hätte besser gewürzt sein können während die "Soße" dünn wie Wasser war ohne Geschmack. Das ganze "Essen" war undefinierbar!

Sehr freundliche Bedienung, leider mit dem Essen zum ersten Mal richtig enttäuscht. Für den Preis von 28€ Sauerbraten gab es auf dem Teller drei Hauch dünne Scheiben Rindfleisch. Die Tagessuppe war lauwarm bei uns allen und das Krüstchen war in Salat Soße ertränkt.Vielleicht wenn ein Toast unter dem Krüstchen gewesen wäre hätte es die Salatsoße abgefangen ,oder vielleicht den Salat extra zu servieren.Die Kroketten schmeckten wie Gummi.Hatte zum Muttertags Essen eingeladen da ich sonst immer begeistert war.Leider heute ein Reinfall.

Gemütliche, urige Gaststätte mit gutbürgerlicher Küche. Ich bin mehrmals im Jahr mit Berufskollegen hier und genieße die Atmosphäre und das tolle Essen. Die Aussicht auf die Ihmerter Hügel ist famos, das Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, die Küche ist wirklich gut und man versteht es hier, die traditionelle Küche der Region auf den Punkt zu bringen. Es gibt viele Restaurants, die sich gutbürgerlich nennen, aber nur wenige, die es verdienen. Dieses hier gehört dazu.

Das Essen war sehr lecker. Der Rotkohl war ok und ein Essen wurde zunächst vergessen. Bedienung und Ambiente sind sehr schön gemütlich und urig. Am besten zahlt man bar, da hier oben wenig bis kein Empfang ist. Auf Sonderwünsche wurde perfekt eingegangen.

Ich kenne dieses Restaurant seit über 20 Jahren. Hier kommt nichts aus der Tüte oder der Dose. Alle Saucen, Dressings und Gerichte werden tatsächlich auch hier gemacht. Wild und Fleisch auf der Karte kommen wenn immer möglich aus den umliegenden Wäldern und Feldern. Pilze kommen in der Saison wenn möglich auch frisch gesammelt aus den umliegenden Wäldern. Der Eigentümer des Hauses, begann seine Kochkarriere in einem Michelin Sterne Restaurant in Hannover, und hält auch heute noch bei all seinen Gerichten die höchsten Qualitätsstandards der Zutaten bei. Das Restaurant ist auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert.
