El Greco in Leipzig

I like going out for Greek food. I was always very happy with El Greco, but unfortunately I think it has worn off. The bread is no longer as good as it was and I don't like the metaksa sauce anymore. She's floury, I don't know. In any case, I would welcome going back to the food from before. The staff is very friendly and the food comes very quickly.

Very friendly and warm atmosphere... they were very nice and served us well! We also really enjoyed the food! We'll definitely be back!

Juicy bifteki, tasty gyros in a strong Metaxa sauce and crispy salad are always delicious! Also served in a friendly yet discreet manner. Class!

The food was very plentiful and tasted great. The service was also very friendly and accommodating and there was hardly any waiting time, neither for a seat, for drinks or food. Definitely recommended

There is still room for improvement to get 5*. The taste of the food was okay, as a suggestion: please take some crispy fresh bread, e.g. B. Baguette. The Italians do it better here. The starter salad can be revised, it is very simple and clear. Decoration: (candles) at the table should work. Everything mentioned should be understood as a suggestion for the operator.

There were oil candles on the table, but they didn't work. The portion size of my husband's meal "Artemeris" was found to be too small. I had a Metaxa pan, but toast bread was served with it. The drinks (beer) cost €5.60. The taste of the food was OK.

It was our first time at El Greco and unfortunately we weren't that happy. We ordered 2 starters and one of them was brought to us wrong. The garlic bread (€7.50!) and the bread for the tzatziki were simply dried-out slices of toast. I've never experienced anything like this at a Greek restaurant where they don't serve fresh, real bread. The prices at this restaurant simply don't match the quality. It should also be noted that beer can only be ordered in 0.3 l... profit making! The Greek restaurant is generally always well attended, but that is probably partly due to the monopoly situation.

Nice staff, even without a reservation we got a table on Saturday evening

The pavilion set up is great for sitting outside. The cappuccino with cream is not acceptable for the price, a small cup of coffee with cream that was no longer there when it was served. The staff is friendly. What's new is that there is an ice cream stick for the guest.

Since we had time, we spontaneously went looking for places. Here we were immediately welcomed very warmly, great food which was really tasty and Greek hospitality, I had the lamb shank with beans 🤤.

Had dinner in the outdoor area. It was very rich and tasty. The service was quick and courteous. Located right on the street, which could be a bit annoying for some guests. It was okay for us. There is still some room for improvement in the design of the outdoor seating area. But overall completely fine. Will definitely come back.

We were here on a Monday. There were only a few guests present. The service was good and the food came quickly, was hot and tasty. The salad was a bit carelessly prepared. Price/performance fits. Unfortunately there was no free ouzo at the end. We will be back.

2020: Portions a little more expensive but correspondingly large. I found the old restaurant in Stahleln a bit more comfortable. 2024: We haven't been there for a long time and won't be back - 2 stars deducted from the original 5. Reasons: 1) way too expensive (3 people: 1 drink each, 2 main courses, 1 children's dish, 1 starter = 75 euros - comparison Greek Schkeuditz 3 weeks ago and similar dishes and drinks = 65 euros) 2) no ouzo 3) Salad too oily, food too greasy 4) no card payment

Relatively expensive compared to other Greek restaurants for not much service, I also missed the “Greek warmth”.

In general the food is very good. Unfortunately, the service was a bit “messed up” and not good for the location on the outskirts of the city. / They serve good food. However, the service could be better and is not very attentive. Given the fact that the restaurant is located in the outskirts of the city it is quite pricey.

Service was quick and effective but a bit forgetful. Food: was okay, meat was way too greasy, fries and tzatziki were good. The atmosphere is cozy but a bit sterile.

Really a Greek that I like extremely much. We particularly liked the “El Greco” plate. Extremely delicious. The only drawback for me is that card payment is not possible. Otherwise really great, the staff, the atmosphere, just lovely. I really hope that the store will be around for a long time.

My girlfriend and I visited on Saturday evening. At 6:45 p.m. we visited the restaurant and quickly ordered our cocktails and a little later our food, which came to our table quite quickly. Unfortunately, we weren't very enthusiastic about either. I ordered a raspberry colada and my girlfriend ordered a Blue Lagon. Both cocktails taste like water, neither coconut nor alcohol could be tasted in either. Unfortunately we weren't very impressed with the food either. But what bothered us most was that no one was at our table until 10 p.m. to ask if we would like to order anything else. Unfortunately we will not visit this restaurant again.

Really great restaurant, delicious food and great staff!

The food was incredibly delicious. We’ve been served a Greek salad almost instantly. Service was kind enough to prepare my friend a special dish for Easter feast and the place had a smooth Greek atmosphere. Not far from the city’s center, the location was accessible with many parking spots. I do recommend it 👌

A very nicely decorated restaurant. Bright colors, simple elegance and very comfortable seating. The food is impeccable. The service is a bit lacking as the waitress doesn't speak German well. But the quality of the food makes up for everything. And a convincing price-performance ratio. The biggest complaint is that neither the guest room nor the toilets are barrier-free.

Das Essen kam schnell und war gut. Es gab nur einen Kellner der uns verstand. Dementsprechend fühlte sich die Bedienung sehr gehetzt an. Was garnicht geht ist, dass man nicht mit Karte zahlen konnte.

Essen hat geschmeckt , war nur leider kalt. Wir hatten das Gefühl , dass wir vergessen wurden, da andere ihr Essen eher hatten als wir und wir waren die ersten 17:30 Uhr. Service, hmm, leider nicht aufmerksam , ziehen ein Gesicht, kein Lachen- keine Herzlichkeit wie man es gewöhnt ist. Ambiente, war ok. Fand es nur ziemlich kalt , da die Tür nicht zu schließen ging. Rechnung muss definitiv kontrolliert werden, werden Dinge abgerechnet, die man gar nicht hatte. FAZIT: Einmal und nicht nochmal.

Am Essen gabs überhaupt nichts zu meckern. Ambiente ist nett aber am Service muss noch etwas gearbeitet werden. Auch wenn es stressig ist (zu den üblichen Stoßzeiten zB) , erwarte ich eine gewisse Professionalität. Wenn zB das Glas eines Gastes leer ist,und der Kellner sowieso am Nebentisch abräumt, kann man fragen,ob man noch etwas bringen darf . Und ein Dankeschön für ein angemessenes Trinkgeld setze ich einfach vorraus, und das war nicht der Fall. Schade eigentlich

Essen war sehr lecker. Personal war freundlich. Großer Hund war willkommen.

Es ist ein sehr schönes Restaurant geworden, Speisen und Getränke sind sehr gut. Schade, dass Kartenzahlung nicht möglich ist. Es wird an der Eingangstür darauf hingewiesen, kann aber leider schnell übersehen werden, da nicht damit gerechnet wird. Die Notlösung besteht darin vom Geldautomaten der nahegelegenen Tankstelle Bargeld zu holen. Wenn man nicht zufällig bei dem Anbieter Kunde ist , beträgt die Gebühr fast 5 Euro. Das Geld könnte der Kellner als Trinkgeld bekommen.

Es gab keinen Ouzo angeboten! Das ist mir mit 54 Jahren und bestimmt 100 Besuchen in einem Griechischen Restaurant noch nie passiert. Obwohl ich meinte an anderen Tischen Ouzo Gläser gesehen zu haben. Freundliche Bedienung und frisch renoviert, etwas kühle Atmosphäre aber die Geschmäcker sind ja unterschiedlich. Bei der Präsentation der Speisen sowohl Auswahl des Geschirrs ist deutlich Luft nach oben. 18,70 € für ein Bifteki mit Tomatenreis ohne Pommes fand ich zu viel. Das Souvlaki war zart, das Gyros geschmacklich gut und auch nicht so blass.

Essen war super! Der Service ist auf jeden Fall ausbaufähig. Keine Kartenzahlung möglich

Essen war super...Fleisch schön saftig... bei der Bedienung fühlt man sich vergessen...ca 40 min lang war niemand am Tisch und das haus war nicht mal halb voll...

Sehr freundliche Bedienung, sehr schnelle Bestellung und die Hauptsache : es schmeckt wunderbar.

Der Biergarten liegt leider direkt an der Hauptstrasse . Sonst alles ganz gut .

Gewoon lekker eten, heel vriendelijk personeel, ik ben op goed geluk binnen gelopen op een dinsdag, in het weekend zeker reserveren. Zorg wel voor contant geld (net als de rest van Duitsland is pinnen niet mogelijk) echte aanrader voor een hele schappelijke prijs (kunnen ze in Nederland een voorbeeld aan nemen).

Bin leider sehr enttäuscht . Gehe sehr oft zum Griechen. Vergleiche daher mit anderen Restaurants. War früher schon öfters dort, als ich noch in leipzig wohnte . Essen war ok und sehr großzügig die Portionen. Die Öffnungszeiten 17:30 -22 Uhr , schmutzige Weingläser, an der Wand am Tisch wo wir saßen, Flecken von Essen, kann ich mir leider nicht verkneifen , geht garnicht Leider Kein ouzo, keine Kartenzahlung Das Essen wurde zwar zügig serviert aber wir waren noch garnicht fertig mit der Vorspeise . Personal war zwar freundlich aber man merkte schon irgendwie eine große Unzufriedenheit . Wirklich Schade.. komme leider nicht wieder

Essen war sehr gut. Vielleicht sollte man aber die Kunden nicht irgendwann im Dunkeln aufm Freisitz sitzen lassen. Und negativ: keine Kartenzahlung EDIT als Antwort an den Inhaber: Für Griechen seid ihr mittlerweile sehr deutsch in eurer Art.

Ich war heute mit Freunden im El Greco in Leipzig. Der erste Eindruck vom Ambiente war sehr schön die Bedienung war sehr flink und das Essen war einfach mega. Die Portionen waren mehr als ausreichend und Ouzo gabs im Überfluss. Für uns war es ein gelungener Abend und wir kommen wieder. 😊

Einfach alles SUPER Ich kann meinem Vorredner NICHT ZUSTIMMEN!!!!!! Essen ist lecker Ouzo gab es ebenfalls und das Essen war SPITZE. Wir waren nun schon mehrmals hier und immer zufrieden. Ouzo gab es sogar eine Karaffe. Also einfach probieren und selbst eine Meinung bilden. Das ist mein persönlicher Tipp

Super Service und das Essen hat uns geschmeckt.

Oha, das war interessant und ungewöhnlich: ein spontaner Besuch im Lokal am Sonntagabend, es gab genug Plätze und: selten ein so reserviertes Personal gesehen. Das Essen kam schnell und war lecker (na ja, kein Krautsalat und keine Olive/Peperoni ist auffällig - trotzdem 2 Sterne für den Genuß), die Ameise auf dem Tisch kam nicht so gut an, die Rechnung wies 3 Positionen aus, die wir nicht zu uns genommen haben. Darauf hingewiesen wurde mit einem "oh, das ist von den Gästen vor ihnen gewesen" die Rechnung ohne jede Entschuldigung neu erstellt. Das es nicht einmal jetzt einen Ouzo gab war schon zu erwarten, ist aber beim Griechen unentschuldbar. Wie gesagt - interessant und nur bedingt empfehlenswert. Sehr schade, 70€ für schnelles Sattwerden, das kann fast jeder Imbiss freundlicher und günstiger. Sowas habe ich noch nie über ein Lokal geschrieben!

Getränke werden am Kopf des Tisches durchgereicht obwohl es die Möglichkeit geben würde, diese zu servieren. Biergläser warm, Keine Blume.Beilagensalat total versalzen, zu viel Essig. Gerichte kamen nicht zusammen. Auf Nachfrage nach einer Stunde wo unser Essen bliebe, kam die Antwort wir hätten unsere Vorspeise doch bekommen. (der übliche Salat siehe oben).Kellner wurde schon leicht unfreundlich, wollte aber gern weitere Getränke verkaufen.Gäste die nach uns kamen, bekamen eher ihr Essen.Das Essen kam, bei vier von sechs Gerichten war die Soße gleich. Es hat ganz gut geschmeckt, hatte aber NICHTS von einem griechischen Restaurant. Ouzo gab es gar nicht. Nun ja gut gemeint ist nicht gut gemacht! Alles in allem gar keine Empfehlung!!!

Wir waren an einem Dienstag zu dritt dort essen. Bisher hatte ich gute Erfahrungen gemacht, aber diesmal war die Bedienung unfreundlich und lustlos. Obwohl nur noch 3 Tische besetzt waren wurde ein Essen an unserem Tisch falsch gebracht. Ich habe dann auf mein Essen sehr lange gewartet und musste dann alleine essen. Leider gab es nicht mal eine Entschuldigung oder ein „Trostpflaster“. Da bereits der Begrüßungsschnaps eingespart wurde, kein schönes Erlebnis mehr dort essen zu gehen. Wir haben uns nicht mehr wohl gefühlt und werden in Zukunft dieses Restaurant nicht mehr besuchen.

Bei herrlichstem Spätsommerwetter hatten wir heute echt Lust, draussen auf der Terasse beim Griechen lecker zu essen. Gegen 18 Uhr waren wir fast die einzigen Gäste. Personal hatte also vorher und gegenwärtig Zeit. Die Terasse ungepflegt, ungefegt ( es lagen unzählige, schon bereits vor mehreren Tagen abgefallene, unter und neben den Tischen liegende Kastanienblätter herum) und insgesamt schmuddelig und lieblos (keine einzige Terassenpflanze - mein Tip z.B. die typische mediterrane Bouganville, Oleander oder Olivenbäumschen!!??) Zu kaputten Sonnenschirmen (von dreien waren es zwei) gesellten sich unschön anzuschauende Tische nebst Tischdecken ohne jedwede Deko. Der Blick zur gegenüberliegenden Tankstelle hätte im Laufe der Jahre - durch z.B. Weinbewuchs o.ä. - durchaus eingeschränkt werden können. Der erste Eindruck zog sich dann leider durch...Essen war schlecht. Das Knoblauchbrot, welches bereits nach 4 Minuten serviert wurde, war vom Fett des Schnittkäses (was hat der dort zu suchen?) durchgeweicht und nur angegrillt. Ich gab es zurück. Als es wieder kam, wars nicht wesentlich besser. Die Salat- bzw. Hauptspeisenteller waren gleichfalls niedrige Küche. Trotz kleiner bestellter Portionen ließen wir Einiges liegen. Das letzte Mal dort vor 2 Jahren war das Essen wenigstens o.k. Also wir werden vorerst dort nicht mehr essen gehen. Teuer ist es zudem. Null Preis/Leistung.
