The steaks at this restaurant were recommended to us by our hotel owner. Unfortunately, we ordered hamburgers instead. They were a complete disaster: more "cheese" than bun on the bottom, and the rest was dripping with grease. At least we weren't hungry anymore. I couldn't help telling the waitress the truth. The ambiance wasn't anything to write home about either. We were quite exposed to everyone else in the restaurant. It certainly wasn't a romantic dinner.

I've had better steaks, unfortunately. The staff were attentive, even though we hadn't made a reservation. The restaurant itself is quaint and cozy.

The food is really very good, the prices reasonable. The ambiance is nice. The mojito is very tasty, the Cuban not so much. All in all, a successful visit, although we did have to ask the waiters for a while while paying. Somehow, they couldn't find our table 😉

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! We found the restaurant quite by chance and thought we'd give it a try. As soon as we entered, we were captivated by the interior and decor, which had been chosen with attention to detail. The waitress was very friendly and always served us promptly. Ugh! I can't fathom how a 4.5-star rating could have come about. The only explanation I can think of is that the chef is on vacation! Tasted like ready meals from the Mexican section of the supermarket! The meat was the size of a shoe sole! To the cheeky commenter: Please leave an email address so we can clarify this further. Today we waited an hour between appetizers and the first course!!! The restaurant wasn't even full... Ordered a 500g steak (€64.50) medium and it came through... Outrageous!!! Never again, that's for sure!!! Good luck! And first: we complained to the waiter, but no one cared... Second: if she has €64.50 to throw away, it's not my problem, I didn't do it!!! Everything was still wrong, from the service to the food.

A wonderful decision to visit El Castillo! In my opinion, it's a restaurant that truly gives you the feeling, for a brief moment, of being in a restaurant somewhere in Mexico, enjoying yourself. Great atmosphere, the food exactly as I imagined, and a server who knew what he was doing. I'd gladly go back.

Good restaurant in Bad Füssing. We arrived during rush hour without a reservation, and the friendly waiter immediately offered to reserve a table for us in half an hour. The food was wonderful, the ribeye steak was exactly as I ordered. The grilled beef was excellent. Service was very friendly, the prices were a bit high, but the quality of the meat was acceptable.

There were three of us here today. We reserved a table in advance for 7 p.m. at lunchtime. We were already here in 2023. Nice atmosphere, great decor. There is a main room, an adjoining room, a covered terrace and an outdoor area. Food very good, but expensive. Drink prices OK Great service (Thomas) We had two cocktails (Lady Killer) and a dark beer. To eat, Burrito de Vegetales, Burrito de pavo and Pollo al mexicana. I had expected more from the dry age rib eye (€48). At the beginning it looked good - see picture. The little edible meat was okay, but otherwise a lot of fat and tough. As a replacement I got a small fillet (lady cut). We also had a starter plate with serano ham and mozzarella sticks etc. So all in all it was average, but €90 is steep.

Das mexikanische Steakhouse El Castilla hat uns komplett überzeugt – hier stimmt einfach alles! Der Service war erstklassig, freundlich, aufmerksam, super Kompetent und mit echter Herzlichkeit. Man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Das Essen? Ein Traum! Das Steak war perfekt auf den Punkt gegart – zart, saftig und voller Geschmack. Auch die Gambas waren sensationell – frisch, aromatisch und ideal gewürzt. Man merkt, dass hier mit Liebe und Können gekocht wird. Wer in Bad Füssing ist, sollte sich dieses kulinarische Erlebnis nicht entgehen lassen. Für uns ab sofort ein Pflichtbesuch bei jedem Aufenthalt!

Excellent and the best steaks ever

All the tables around us get tequila on the house, but we don't. Apparently we were unwanted and should have bought one instead of the tip. We won't be coming back, it's a good thing that there are enough good restaurants in Füssing.

There is a cozy Mexican restaurant outside of town. Reservation is advantageous, the service is quick and attentive. There is a typical starter and main course. A selection of steaks are also offered. A choktail menu completes everything. A recommendation for the location.

We were thrilled. The food was excellent and sumptuous, the service was very friendly and fun, and all in a cozy, rustic atmosphere. We will definitely come back.

I ate here three times during my 3-week rehab and each time I was more than satisfied.

Great ambience, super good food, priced up but absolutely okay. The only tiny drawback is the sometimes longer waiting time for service.

We also came here because of the good reviews. The restaurant was busy, but not full. The ambience is a bit reminiscent of “south west”. As a starter we chose peppers. After 35 minutes, lots of small green peppers were served in a cast iron pan, tasty with a small bowl of sauce. Another 35 minutes later, 2x fajitas arrived (1x combo chicken and beef, 1x additionally with shrimp) in the same type of pan. The amount of meat wasn't convincing (see pictures) and some of it was a bit meaty. In addition, in my opinion, there was a generous use of oil in the pans. The 5 Sauces, on the other hand, were very visually and tastefully appealing. In the end, the tequila couldn't make up for the long wait and the compromises in the food, so I only got 3 stars for this visit.

Oasis of enjoyment at a high level with prices to suit every budget. The steaks are cooked to the nearest hundredth👌 Be sure to try the house-made orange tequila.

Location: Great concept, Mexican-style style and decoration, very lovingly furnished. Free parking available. Service: Very friendly and accommodating. We were regularly asked if everything was good or if we needed anything else. Food and drinks: My wife liked the red wine (Merlot), my Cola-Wheat was very tasty. Starters and main courses were wonderfully prepared and tasted very exciting (a flavor explosion every now and then), so you can certainly forego the slightly longer waiting time, especially since you can really switch off in the ambience. Price/performance: The quality, value and effort of the prepared dishes are worth every cent. Conclusion: The best steakhouse I know in this region!

We have been regular guests at El Castillo for about three years, sometimes even 2-3 times a month. Overall, we are very satisfied and were happy to accept the slightly higher prices. However, there have been a few points in the last few weeks that have unfortunately marred the experience a little. Beef tartare used to be served with a breaded egg yolk - now it is only served with a simple fried egg. The decoration on the plate also seems less lovingly arranged in comparison. The first time I asked directly, I got the answer: "There's a lot going on at the moment, there was no other option." OK. The second time it was said: “Let’s always do it like this now”. Too bad! When it comes to steak salad, the tortilla shell used to be freshly fried. However, on the last few visits it was cold or no longer fresh and crispy, which of course affects the taste. We would like to positively emphasize the good quality of the steaks and the well-balanced Mexican dishes. The service is always impeccable and friendly. The absolute highlight for me were the beef ribs sous vide on the weekly/monthly menu. I would order again and again! All in all, it continues to be a good restaurant that we enjoy visiting - and we hope that in the future it will again show the attention to detail that we so appreciated.

What I thought was great was that you could take as much as you wanted from the salad buffet. Unfortunately my burrito tasted a bit burnt. I'm guessing the rice.

Beats my "house Mexican" in my home country by far, even if I don't like to admit it 😅 They also have a good vegetarian option. I ate a few times during the four weeks in Bad Füssing. El Castillo was by far my favorite. Unfortunately I only discovered it at the end. The best comes at the end. Clear case: 5 / 5 stars 👍🏻

By far the best Mexican I've been to. Very well-balanced dishes, very friendly staff and very good cocktails. As soon as I'm back in Bad Füssing, the visit here will definitely be another highlight. Ambience very pleasant, with great attention to detail. Definitely a must visit if you are near it.

Foreword: Excellent! We went to El Castillo for the first time on a recommendation and we loved it! Very polite and competent staff! Mexican-style furnishings. Despite the great selection of steaks, we opted for typical Mexican main courses (Fajitas & Co), which were fantastic! We really wanted beef tartare as a starter, but in the heat of the moment I mistakenly ordered beef carpacio... It was only when this was served that I realized my mistake, but the waitress immediately clarified this with the kitchen and we were served beef tartare without any complaints ! This gesture is simply great!!! And...it paid off! It was the best beef tartare we have ever eaten!!! Hand-cut beef fillet, deliciously marinated, with great herbs, fresh side dishes, fried egg and spicy baguette! So we definitely recommend it, we didn't find a single negative point! We'll definitely be back!!! Have a good meal! PS: Don't forget the house tequila, both versions are delicious!

It was really very tasty. We dined extensively and enjoyed it very much. The salad was really excellent with enough meat. The steaks were outstanding!

I can highly recommend the Fajitas el Castillo, if you don't get full with it you must have an oversized stomach 😉. My wife was not happy with the beef fillet that she had. She said that it had more than reached its shelf life.

After a long time we were back at El Castillo. We were greeted warmly and shown to a table, even though we were there a little before the official opening time. Unfortunately the wine we wanted was no longer there, the replacement wine, which we didn't actually want because of the transport route from Argentina, was also fine. The selected dishes, ladies steak and rump steak, were excellent and cooked to perfection, just as you would wish. We also chose salad from the buffet. Contrary to our memories, the selection there was rather sparse.

The ambience, the service and the food are just great! The homemade tequila is to die for. Even if you've sworn off tequila, you'll start drinking it again here. The dry aged beef was prepared to perfection and beautifully presented on the plate. A visit to this restaurant is a must if you have the opportunity. There is something for everyone on the food and drink menu.

Very nice service. The boss should renovate his front garden with seats. It's raining in there. This doesn't make the tables and benches with cushions any better. The ceiling tiles are detaching from the roof and it is raining. That's not exactly appealing. Sad 😢 ☹️.

We ate here three times in one week because we simply didn't need anything else. It was just way too delicious. The staff is really friendly and they know their stuff.

The food and service were completely fine. Nothing to complain about. The only thing that bothered me and my husband was that dogs were allowed. I like animals, but I think they have no place in a restaurant.

Last Monday we had dinner here with 12 people and all I can say is that the food was praised beyond words by everyone. My burger was huge and tasted great, I had never tried the cactus soup before, it was just as great. The meat was on point and very tasty for everyone, only one of our group said her steak was too far, she got the entire plate new in no time and then On Point. Great! Also the salad in the baked tortilla, awesome. Great and nice service and quick too, wonderful. I can only recommend.
