Efes Imbiss in Göttingen

It's been many years since I've finished my studies that I've been visiting "Efes" again. Here you can still get something good to eat even after a long night. The furnishings have become a bit more modern, the signs have been replaced and the floor no longer sticks. A lot has improved. The Dürüm was okay with "everything". Unfortunately the salad was wet and the rest of the filling was also reduced. Conclusion: A Göttingen institution that you should definitely visit, but the price-performance taste experience suffered.

In my opinion the best kebab in Göttingen. The bread is crispy, toasted, the sauces have flavor and the meat is juicy and not too fatty. Content is also perfect, not too much not too little. The salad is crisp and tastes fresh. Tomato slices are not 0.2mm slices but cut nice and thick. I personally really celebrate the addition of rocula and pomegranate seeds. I've been here several times in the last 2 years and it's always tasted great. I can highly recommend!

The best döner/durum I’ve had so far across 3 german-speaking countries! The staff are nice most of the time… Because it is always full, I don’t expect to have a small talk of course!

The most magical journey through one of the circles of hell. When I came to order food in the evening, the waiter looked at me with a very aggressive face without understanding German. He didn't prepare me what I asked for, quoted a different quantity than what was stated on the plates and behaved very rudely. Visiting during the Corona pandemic. Hygiene hardly exists. Both chefs do not wear face masks and do not wash their hands after accepting cash. There is no hand disinfectant and the entrance area is too small to keep your distance. 2g control not available, on the contrary. When a customer asks whether once vaccinated is enough to eat inside, the waitress just looks at the floor and nods...unacceptable

Arrogant. Special requests seem to be annoying. The gentleman who served me probably didn't like me and gossiped about me to his colleagues. There was no Seviette either. It was totally creepy. Not recommended.

I was charged for "extra cheese" twice on my order even though I didn't order it. I didn't get any extra cheese either. The music was definitely too loud and there were constant advertisements. The food was OK, not special.

We went to this shop very often back then because it was simply delicious and respectful and also because the employees back then (1-3 years before) were very friendly. But unfortunately the whole thing took a very negative turn. There is one employee there who is particularly unfriendly and you just get the feeling that he wants to make everything bad for you. We repeatedly asked that we please cut the meat later so that it would stay warm and the fries would be nice and crispy. End result? Zero. They always do the exact opposite and don't listen to the requests. But we still went there because we had such a good experience back then. They go out of their way to make the food perfect for their compatriots, as it should be for every customer, but with normal customers they don't care at all and for the compatriots they do everything, as I said, as soon as they are normal customers, it doesn't matter what is. The food is always cold, the portions are smaller and if you ask for a little more sauce, the employees want extra money for a dollop of sauce. Or if you don't want the sauce in the middle of the meal but in a paper bowl, you have to pay extra. For a paper bowl? And then you get insulted in an unfriendly way and you should ask why and what. Overall, today was the last visit. It was done exactly to make us very uncomfortable and the food was prepared so that it was cold and undercooked. Is this the quality that this store has become? The tables are always dirty and greasy and they are rarely cleaned. Nevertheless, we always went because of our experience because it was so good back then. But the thing is that one employee is incredibly unfriendly and always makes the whole situation uncomfortable. If the owner reads this review, please fire your employee, the slightly older and unfriendly man. It's uncomfortable when you have to talk to him. It's a shame what this store has become. We have already left several hundred euros with you and would have continued to visit you often. But no thanks, I strongly advise against this store. Unfortunately, 80% of employees are not really made for customer communication and should not work with customers. It's a shame, you're losing more and more customers 🙂

On Friday and Saturday there is a so-called steak kebab there, which made me feel like I was transported back to the 90s because I even ate two pieces a day. Really good! MINUS Unfortunately, the floor and stairs are often slippery, used tablets pile up and I don't like the white LED spots on the upper floor, all of them in warm white would create a nicer atmosphere 😊 PLUS, the original Swiss cannabis iced tea in an orange can in the snack machine for €2.50 was the icing on the cake. P. S and the new bread pockets instead of flatbread corners are good.

This is really a disgrace. Strangely enough, if I get my kebab from you earlier, this doesn't happen. There was also enough chicken left. Unfortunately I do not understand it. A pity. We ate Dürüm with eggplant and fries here. The Dürüm was tasty, but relatively expensive (€8) and small. There are better options in Göttingen. Unfortunately the fries were not crispy but wobbly. A pity. I would come back if the portions were larger and the fries were crispy, otherwise I probably wouldn't!

We like to eat kebab here when we're in the city center. But since this new bread has been available, it is simply even tastier and at the same time the kebab feels twice as big as before. The meat was also super marinated, nice and crispy and thinly sliced. You can't go wrong with a menu for 10 euros. Really great!

Noch nie ein besseres Gesamtpacket gehabt. Gutes Fleisch, perfektes Brot, beste Soße und freundliches Personal. Trotz (gerechtfertigt) vielen Kunden auf einmal war der Döner super schnell fertig und hat wunderbar geschmeckt.

Sehr schick und immer leckeres Essen. Grade die scharfe Soße ist sehr lecker. Portion sind immer gut gefüllt. Mittags Rum muss man etwas warten, da es schnell voll werden kann. Ich kann es persönlich nur weiterempfehlen!

Essen ist sehr lecker! Extra Essenswünsche werden ohne Probleme erfüllt. Man wird schnell bedient, und die Menschen sind ausgesprochen nett bis in die späten Abendstunden. Mit der Ambiente wurde sich sichtbar Mühe gegeben, man kann sowohl draußen als auch drinnen bequem essen.

Absolut zu empfehlen. Super Öffnungszeiten, angenehme Atmosphäre, habe schon fast jedes Gericht dort gegessen und alles schmeckt top. Meine Extrawünsche werden immer umgesetzt ohne dass jemand genervt ist, es ist immer sauber und alle sind freundlich. Sogar Getränke sind kein Standard Sortiment

Das Essen schmeckt ganz gut, habe mir die Dönerbox gekauft. Könnte vielleicht mehr Soße sein, aber sonst alles gut. Die Mitarbeiter waren nett und freundlich. Man wurde auch nicht gehetzt bei der Auswahl. Ich kann nur empfehlen dort mal essen zu gehen und die eigene Meinung zu machen :)

Mein Freund kam mit tausend Extrawünschen um die Ecke - hier kein Problem! Mit einem charmanten Witz wurden wir bedient und das Gericht fein angerichtet. Göttingens place to mampf 🤙🏻

Update Döner schmeckt nach thüringer Rostbratwurst also das angebliche Kalb Weiss auch nicht wer das gewürzt hat aber es ist so Zu kleine Portionen Rind spiess wird nicht richtig gebraten oder verkohlt War Mal besser

Ich war gerne hier, aber heute war leider enttäuschend. Haben jetzt nach dem Essen Magen-Darm ähnliche Symptome bekommen.. Aber der Mitarbeiter war wirklich sehr nett und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist hier noch top!
