Delicious food ordered for takeout! As tourists, we tried green sauce with potatoes for the first time here and were truly delighted. For around €13, they could have easily served one or two more potatoes, as there was quite a lot of sauce. The Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) were also very hearty, generous, and perfectly seasoned. The side salad was well-chosen and finished with croutons and vinaigrette. A great restaurant, which was always busy when we walked by.

A lovely, rustic pub. We stopped by spontaneously and received a warm welcome. We were immediately offered a table by the door, where staff were sitting outside, and we had a great chat and learned a lot. We definitely recommend it. The food is delicious, and the value for money is excellent. Keep up the good work, especially at the new location opening in September!

Great home-style cooking at fair prices, creative dishes alongside classics. I had the Handkäs mit Musik (a type of cheese with onions and caraway seeds) and the Cordon Bleu with fried potatoes. The Cordon Bleu was sensational, the fried potatoes could be better; when they were really big, they were delicious. The seating is cozy, but cramped, the kitchen was working flat out, and the restaurant was packed at 7:30 pm. I'd gladly come back.

The apple wine is delicious, and the excellent selection of traditional cuisine is a culinary delight that shouldn't be overlooked. In short, it's delicious to drink a glass of Schoppe with friends. I'll do it again sometime. I highly recommend it! Next time, I'll take photos.

The Ebbelwei Schenke is truly worth recommending. The food is truly outstanding, down to the last detail, from the flavor to the perfection of the steak. The kitchen knows what it's doing. If the service were a bit more energetic (checking on guests more often, being present, even outside), I would give it 5 stars immediately.

Rustic Ebbelwei restaurant with delicious food and very good service

Visited this restaurant yesterday with a few friends. The ambiance was really nice and old German. Unfortunately, given the temperatures, it was very warm inside and everything outside was already reserved. We had a heavily pregnant woman with us. A very friendly and competent waitress was able to help and immediately offered us a wet towel, which she regularly wetted with cold water when needed. Simply outstanding. Now for the food. I had the Nordic handkäs as a starter. Since I'm actually from North Rhine-Westphalia and was only visiting, this dish means nothing to me. To be honest, what was served blew me away. I would definitely recommend it; I've rarely eaten such a good starter. And how beautifully it was presented... just wow. The quantity and the price for a starter were more than reasonable. For the main course, I had the schnitzel with fried potatoes. I really wanted to try two sauces, so I asked the waitress if it was possible to have the schnitzel with half cheese sauce and half garlic sauce. And here, too, the response was excellent, and the two sauces were offered separately. And what can I say? The schnitzel and the sauces were absolutely top-notch. The price and the portions were also outstanding. All in all, it was a fantastic evening. Super friendly people, and the service staff were absolutely professional. So if you want delicious food and a relaxing evening, this is the place for you. Next time I'm in Frankfurt, this place is definitely a must. Thank you for this great evening, and a huge compliment to the chef.

Here you get exactly what a schnitzel junkie needs... Anyone who's ever had a schnitzel here will be instantly addicted and will definitely come back to devour their way through the menu. Having eaten a schnitzel or two in various restaurants, I can say without exaggeration that the food, and especially the schnitzel, is by far the best around. The selection of schnitzel variations is fantastic, and the sauces are truly delicious. The schnitzel is the perfect thickness and size, the breading is golden brown, and the clarified butter it was fried in is still sizzling when it's brought to your table. The side dishes are also really great. I'm absolutely thrilled with the fried potatoes; not too greasy, perfectly cooked, not too dark or mushy, simply a dream. The mashed potatoes are also incredibly delicious; they come in a separate bowl, and you can see the good butter that was used to refine them, simply a dream. Sure, it sounds a little strange to rave about a banal schnitzel with fried potatoes, but go there and try it for yourself, and you'll realize that you can't eat schnitzel anywhere else because this is the "final stage of schnitzel." If schnitzel ever gets a Michelin star, this will be the highest rating. The semolina sauce here is the first one I can enjoy. I don't really like the cress in the sauce, and I don't like too much mayo, but that's not the case here. The semolina sauce is always fresh and delicious, not too cress-heavy, just like I always make it at home, so full marks! There! Enough said about the amazing schnitzel. They also have amazing Handkäs here. I've already ordered all the unusual variations through my wife. Always the Apple Pie Handkäs, a fruity, sweet dream flavored with cinnamon and raisins. I had to chuckle at the combination when I read it on the menu, but I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it can taste. I, for one, really like the Styrian or Nordic Handkäs. The side salad is super fresh and comes with a delicious dressing, so the portion is also reasonably large and delicious. Unfortunately, I can't say anything about dessert because after a Handkäs and the mega schnitzel, I usually have a slight food stupor... Yeah, okay, I also got a couple of Äbbler (cheese) in there, but it could also be because I didn't want any more dessert 😉. My conclusion about this restaurant Go there, feel comfortable, eat and drink very well, have a chat with the friendly staff, and the evening is perfect. If you like Hessian cuisine and especially perversely delicious schnitzel, you've come to the right place. Finally, a big thank you to the service crew and especially to the chef who always cooks me the perfect schnitzel. I hope you maintain this quality, because it can't get any better. Anyone who wants to enjoy traditional Hessian products in an unconventional way has come to the right place. Whether Hessen-Caipi or Handkäs a la Max: the new interpretations are consistently delicious. But the classics are also great! The service is super nice and if it takes a little longer because the place is packed, this is more than compensated for by the good mood and charm. Always my pleasure!

Top, classic Ebbelwei as the name suggests, but with nicely prepared food, friendly and fast service. For those not familiar with the area: As always in Hochstadt, parking is a bit difficult, but you can get there directly.

Super delicious, nice staff always happy

We were there for the first time with friends and had a cozy evening in the beautiful Äbbelwoi restaurant. The service is very friendly and attentive. But........ It took a good 20 minutes for the first Äpler to come to the table. We had to wait 1:45 hours for the food. There was gravy on the Kochkässchnitzel and the Kochkäs in a glass as a side dish? The fried potatoes were dry. My wife's potato salad was almost completely missing the dressing. We men had slaughter platter which there was nothing wrong with and it tasted really delicious. A good price-performance ratio for the food, but for the drinks? 4.90€ for a 0.5er Äpler, **5.90€** for a 0.5er Rose and 5.50€ for a 0.5er beer are already sporty. That somehow doesn't fit together. We felt comfortable, but the waiting time of 1:45 hours for food and the price of drinks prevented us from visiting again. We wish the host much success.

No recommendation, the schnitzels are fingernail thin. You only get breadcrumbs for 18.50 euros. Fried potatoes in cubes with peel are also not tasty. The beer was served warm and cooled with ice cubes when requested There was no response at all to constructive criticism. Never again. We miss the predecessors of this cider bar.

Just a great economy! For me as a qualified North German, cider was previously unknown territory, but the rosé absolutely convinced me. Refreshing, not too sweet, just a perfect summer drink. There was also a really good schnitzel with chanterelle cream sauce and fried potatoes that was second to none. The food was freshly made and the slightly longer wait (the shop was also very busy) was absolutely worth it. The ambience is also right, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. I'll definitely be back!

Very tasty Hessian cuisine that creatively reinterprets traditional dishes. So you can find the Handkäs not only with music, but also with salad, salmon or apples, cinnamon and raisins. And it tastes great. Best quality, generous portions, beautiful ambience in a listed half-timbered house. If you want to eat Hessian food and value regional and seasonal dishes, André is the perfect place for you!

Typically Hessian. Good stuff, delicious Hesse tapas. The schnitzel plate is also very well filled and tastes delicious in a wide variety of variations. You can linger in the small guest room or in the adjacent winter garden. Reservation is advisable.

First of all, I come from the catering industry as a butcher/cook and have run a restaurant with my family in the area for years. Regarding the service: absolutely professional, warm and courteous, even in the busiest of day-to-day business (Sunday lunchtime / 9 people with special requests!), calm and balanced. That's it, it couldn't be better! To the kitchen: everything was brought to the plate without any fuss. Delicious and tasty regional dishes. Everything is lovingly prepared. The boss and his hard-working helpers really cook with passion and love! About the food menu and drinks menu: Balanced in any case, there really is something for everyone! About the location: Nicely located in the old town (there are enough parking spaces). The restaurant is very rustic, tasteful, traditional and lovingly decorated. Absolute feel-good atmosphere. Conclusion: If you like and appreciate down-to-earth regional cuisine, you've come to the right place! Went to the Christmas market and got a schnitzel there. When I picked it up, as usual, the packaging with the schnitzel and a small packaging, thought ah with salad. However, to our great delight, the sauce was in there so that the breading was still very crispy. Perfect thank you.

Went there with my 17 year old son when we visited family In Germany in 2019. Such great staff, helpful and also willing to make sure we could try some things before ordering (Apple wine was not our favorite... sorry! :-) ). It is so refreshing to see restaurant staff so interested in making sure that we felt welcome. I see that the restaurant is closed due to water main break. Hope that they are open later this year when I am coming back with my daughter.... maybe she will like Apple wine. Food was good and plenty. Hope the restaurant will recover from lengthy closure - especially after already being "hit" with restrictions from Covid in the past.

Authentische Apfelweinkneipe mit sehr gutem Essen. Man sitzt sehr angenehm, Bedienung immer auf Zack ..wir fühlten uns bis dato sehr wohl...

Auf das Essen, das besonders reichlich und sehr lecker war, mussten wir leider 50 Minuten warten, obwohl nur drei Tische belegt waren. Es lag wohl an der "Außer-Haus-Bestellung" von fast 200€. Für die lange Wartezeit und die für Gehbehinderte nicht zu erreichenden Toiletten im 1. Stock gibt es einen Stern Abzug.
