We tried the restaurant today and were unfortunately disappointed. The outside area is a bit dated. When we got the food, we were even more disappointed. It was awful. A large plate with a scoop of fries and 25 fries, and a red sauce. Then we had salmon with salad that was completely dry. It all reminded me of canteen food. The only good thing was the friendly service.

May 9, 2025 The asparagus season has begun. 😊 Very nice service. Food came quickly and tasted very good. The menu includes hearty Hessian dishes. Gladly again at any time.

We absolutely loved the restaurant, from reserving the seats, to the food and drinks, to the fantastically committed and absolutely friendly service staff. All in all, it was a fantastic evening in a great restaurant, which is already showing its age but is absolutely convincing due to its hospitality.

The food is always unique and excellent. There are always plenty of large portions and still excellently prepared. The salad dressing is very special

My colleague and I ate there today. He treated himself to a schnitzel. Taste great, enough to fill you up. I treated myself to an Alsatian-style schnitzel. And before that, a side dish. This is exactly my place to go - here the food and the service are great! I just don't give 5 stars because I only give them for star cuisine - but it's really delicious here - so it's more like 4.5!

I was a dedicated fan of the restaurant for years and did a lot of advertising for it. Unfortunately, success makes you feel full and there is a regression to the lower mediocrity. For years, the menu has only been broken down into two "copy & paste" templates: "fresh asparagus" (even if the season in Hesse is definitely over) and then "fresh" chanterelles (wherever they come from) until the asparagus season next year. The only innovation in between was a delicious celery soup, which again went off plan. No question - the kitchen crew and the boss Alex have pushed real delicacies out from under the salamander in the past and unfortunately have now found themselves stuck at this high - but boring - level. The service staff and the kitchen are really great with the side effect that nothing works without a reservation (especially in summer) - for me personally, due to the "copy & paste" rigidity of the menu, this location is temps perdu and time to move on and discover new things (such as the Erbstädter Landgasthaus).

We were there for lunch today. I had stuffed Wutz, which is a stuffed schnitzel with onions, cheese and ham. That was the best schnitzel I have ever eaten. We can only recommend that.

The staff and the boss are very guest-oriented and always friendly, attentive and also available for a spontaneous chat at the table. I really like going there because I like the ambience and atmosphere and it always tastes good there - delicious, regional cuisine.

It was my first time in Hesse over the weekend and I had a very good meal there on Friday. The food was great, the service was nice and you didn't have to wait long for the food! It was so good that I went straight back on Sunday. I can really recommend it!

Recently I had Stuffed Wutz Alsatian style (great) and this time Zurich Geschnetzeltes with spaetzle, again perfect. For salad fans: everything is always super fresh and best of all: never an industrial-prepared sauce!!

Heute habe ich mich zunächst gegen die Lendchen im Mäntelchen entschieden und die Rinderroulade bestellt. War selbstverständlich kein Fehler. Sooo lecker. Wünschte aber anstelle der Klöse den Kartoffelstampf. Auch das war für mich die richtige Entscheidung, weil ich den hier liebe. Die Lendchen im Mäntelchen habe ich mir dann trotzdem noch bestellt für morgen zu Hause. Die sind halt mein absoluter Favorit in den Mainterrassen. Danke für die schönen Abende bei euch ❤

Very conservative menu. Meat dominates, vegetable dishes are missing. There is no willingness to modify the food slightly. This means that some guests have to leave the restaurant hungry. The special schnapps menu is outdated. The only really positive thing is the location.

We had a delicious meal here yesterday before the carnival event! The service is quick and very friendly, even in the hall. We'll be back! :)

Now I have to leave a review about the service regarding the carnival sessions. First of all, I find it impossible to have to pay for the order before delivery, something like that doesn't work. We were a larger group and two of them didn't get drinks. The selection also leaves a lot to be desired. The schnitzel rolls are also not great with limp rolls. Waiters are also hard to get, you wave and no one responds.

The food is of very high quality and beautifully presented and the service was very attentive. We were a group of over 20 people and received our food super quickly - huge recommendation!!! The only comment I have is to perhaps add a few more vegetarian dishes to the repertoire.

Wir waren mit unseren Müttern essen. Alles, was wir hatten, war sehr, sehr lecker. Bekannte Gerichte, aber nicht 08/15, sondern mit einem besonderen Etwas (zB der lauwarme Kartoffel-Gurkensalat zum Wiener Schnitzel). Und der Service war auch sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.

The first time at the Wirtshaus zu den Mainterrassen, we ordered once, schnitzel with green sauce with rosemary potatoes, the second dish was meatloaf and fries, and I had mixed salad with stone-open baguette, and chicken, both of which were very large and too large for me. Overall, we are satisfied and there is something on the menu for everyone who likes German cuisine. Which is a good sign at restraunts when it's busy and guests come and go. The staff was very friendly and forthcoming. I can recommend this restraunt.

We were there on a Monday evening and got a table outside. Since there was a lot going on, the waitress was very busy. Nevertheless, we were spoken to directly and greeted very friendly. The drinks and food came quickly. I had the green sauce with eggs and risole potatoes. It was very tasty and a large portion. The menu offers many classics (Frankfurter Schnitzel, green sauce, Königsberger Klopse) but vegetarian and vegan dishes are also offered. Absolutely within the price range. The atmosphere is also relaxed and summery. I would particularly like to emphasize the really nice service. We were spoken to several times and asked for drinks in a very nice way, which is something that unfortunately rarely happens these days. I would really like to come back!

It's one of our regulars and we like to come by every now and then.

We had dinner there with 11 people and everything was perfect. Parking spaces in front of the door. Ramp for strollers. The staff is very accommodating and child-friendly. Every dish tasted great and was served every second. 11 tastes, all satisfied. Homemade iced teas and delicious desserts round the whole thing off. We sat outside, protected from the sun and with a view of the countryside and the Main. Thank you for the great Sunday lunch with the whole family. Until next time, again soon.

A work colleague had reserved the table for dinner. Since the weather was so nice, we sat outside on the terrace. The friendly, smiling waitress took the order. Large, clean restaurant, even with a bowling alley. The food came quickly. Nice clear menu and reasonable prices. The rump steak and the BBQ burger are recommended. There was a misunderstanding when ordering takeaway, but we were able to clear that up quickly too. The price-performance ratio is top. Definitely recommended 😀👍🏻

There are no exotic or negative surprises here. Delicious food with no frills and friendly service. I wrote the first review 5 years ago and it remains 5 stars. The food has gotten even better. And in the summer on the terrace it is simply beautiful.
