Three stars only for the ambiance, but otherwise, it was the worst service I think I've ever experienced. I've never been treated so rudely by a waitress. It's a real shame; it completely ruins the vibe. I won't be recommending this place to anyone! The food was okay, not very freshly prepared unfortunately, but still acceptable. It's not worth it, though; we won't be coming back!

One of the best sushi restaurants in Cologne! The fish is incredibly fresh and of outstanding quality. The sushi is highly recommended, and they also have excellent ramen. Reservations are definitely recommended, but with a bit of luck, you might be able to get a table without one. The drinks are fantastic, and the friendly staff and owner create a wonderful atmosphere. The stylish ambiance and great location make for a perfect visit.

We made a reservation for New Year's Eve two weeks ago via OpenTable. Upon arrival, we were informed that booking through this portal is not possible. Since we had to confirm our reservation multiple times and received confirmation from the restaurant, we find this practice unacceptable. A trendy spot, but unfortunately, that's about it.

Very disorganized. Despite having a reservation, we waited half an hour at the door. The staff member simply ignored us, despite our several polite requests, before we finally left after half an hour and even received some snarky comments. Therefore, we unfortunately cannot rate the rest of the experience.

I have absolutely nothing to complain about the food. The sushi rolls are fantastic, as are the appetizers. The service, however, was absolutely terrible. Despite having a reservation, we still had to wait outside for 20 minutes. The appetizer arrived fairly quickly, but then we had to wait almost an hour for our main course, even though tables around us who arrived later had already received their food. When I asked where our food was, I was given a half-hearted snark that it was on its way, and after that, no one treated us normally. The food itself is absolutely top-notch, but the service is truly terrible.

This place is a real hidden gem. The sushi is consistently fresh and absolutely delicious; you can tell they use high-quality ingredients and pay attention to detail. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive without being intrusive, making you feel instantly welcome. On top of that, the prices are really fair, and the portion sizes and quality are spot on. I highly recommend it, especially if you're looking for great sushi without the exorbitant prices. 💕

I am very disappointed with Eatsu. The pictures in the app bear little resemblance to reality – the delivered food differs significantly in both appearance and quality. The gap between expectation and reality is enormous. What's particularly frustrating is that no one has responded to my politely worded email pointing out this issue. No feedback, no apology, no interest in resolving the matter. I find this outrageous. This is no way to treat customers. This was definitely my last order.

Service puts guests under time pressure Our visit to this restaurant ended extremely unpleasantly. Even as we were eating, it was very clear that the staff wanted to finish their shift – regardless of whether the guests had finished eating or not. Tables were being demonstratively cleared around us, the atmosphere became increasingly tense, and in the end, we felt practically forced out of the restaurant. There was no sign of hospitality or professional service. Instead, we felt more like an intruder than a welcome guest. If a restaurant wants to close at a certain time, this should be clearly communicated and not played out at the expense of the guests. Such behavior is disrespectful and leaves a very negative impression.

Fantastic, fresh sushi in many varieties. We were thrilled and will be back soon. Even our 12-year-old daughter was able to try everything. Good, friendly, and flexible service. Everything was top-notch.

But you know what really took this place to god-tier? The waitresses. Friendly, patient, super welcoming — and they handled every question we had with a smile. They made the whole vibe relaxed and fun, genuinely some of the best service we’ve had in Germany. And for anyone with celiac or gluten sensitivity: Eatsu is a dream. They understood immediately, offered safe options, explained everything calmly, and made sure we felt 100% comfortable. HUGE respect for that level of patience and care. Unfortunately, the otherwise delicious food is ruined by avoidable rudeness. They're filling bottles with tap water and charging €7.90 for it. We noticed this because the still water was served in a bottle meant for sparkling water. The waitress reacted very rudely to our complaint.

Best sushi in Cologne, I always enjoy ordering and eating here! Unfortunately, I'm losing a star because a young lady handled my complaint yesterday in a rude, emotional, and unprofessional manner... (the sauces were missing from my order). At the end, she even said to the colleague, "Here, you take care of this, I can't handle this at all," and of course, we overheard it on the phone. Embarrassing!

A truly delicious poke bowl. I wouldn't have ordered it at the regular price of €20, but there was a special offer at Wolt, so it was okay. I wonder if it's appropriate to count the tofu bowl as a poke bowl... Avocado, edamame, and silken tofu 👍🥗

I had a reservation at 7:30 but arrived at 7:50 due to heavy traffic and the trade fair crowd. Even though there were several empty tables, they refused to seat us. I checked OpenTable, and there was still availability — I even made a new reservation right there — but just out of pure spite, the blonde hostess didn’t give us a table. Inside, at least four or five tables were free, yet she was clearly being difficult on purpose. The blonde girl at the door has absolutely no manners and no idea how to speak to customers. Such rude, unprofessional staff ruin the entire image of the restaurant. Never going back again — and I’ll make sure everyone knows how they treat their guests.

I had the chicken bao bun. Spicy edamame and karageen chicken. Everything was okay. But somehow the ingredients lacked harmony in the dishes. The chicken in the bao bun was tasty and crispy. The bun seemed somewhat industrial, the karageen chicken was good, but the dip was very bland. I like the crunchy edamame, but they were a bit drowned in the spicy sauce. I'm still giving it 4* because I compare the dishes to dishes I've eaten in Asia. So, it's good, but there's still some room for improvement. 😉 The dark-haired waitress was great. Unfortunately, the brunette blonde forgot half of the food when you ordered something from her. 🙂

This was our first time eating at eatsu, and I have to say we were thrilled with the bowl and the bao! Very fresh and delicious. The salmon bowl is especially recommended. The sushi, however, wasn't great value for money. Still, 5*****

This is a great place to eat Asian food. We had vegetarian ramen and bowls with tuna or salmon, and for starters, we had edamame, salmon tartare, and octopus. Everything was beautifully presented and well-seasoned. We ate with pleasure. Service was excellent. However, this isn't a place where you want to linger. You just go and eat. The restroom is in the basement...good value for money. Recommended.

Unfortunately, it's not "finest sushi." The shop, right on the lively Friesenplatz with its many restaurants in the area, has an okay-chic decor, but a bit lacking in personality. Why does a Japanese restaurant have 100 bottles of Lillet in the bar? We had a bao bun, which was good: crispy (veggie) chicken, fluffy bun, but a bit heavy on mayo. The "homemade" iced tea is simply syrup mixed with water, unfortunately not at all tasty. €5. And finally, the sushi: the rolls were small, there was little fish, the rice was mushy, and the flavor was unspectacular. Therefore, it didn't impress us at all.

We enjoyed our visit to eatsu, but the price-performance ratio is a bit high. The takoyaki were only warm on the inside, but the ramen and sushi were very tasty. The dynamite chicken is nicely spicy. The eatsu team is very friendly, polite, and attentive. Requests to omit ingredients were accommodated; a real plus! The lunch menu options are worth mentioning. The ambiance is modern and creatively designed.

Poor value for money! I have nothing to complain about in terms of taste; it was fresh and delicious, although the shrimp should have been larger and more numerous for the price, as should the toppings and sauce! Unfortunately, the value for money here isn't right at all; the price should be significantly lowered for the size of the bowl. Apparently, you're paying more for rent/employees, etc., than for the actual product. On the positive side, I should mention that the water is automatically served with ice cubes and lemon, which I really liked. Conclusion: Once, but not again!

We ate at Eatsu yesterday and were unfortunately disappointed overall. The service seemed very inattentive and seemed more focused on what was happening across the street than on the customers inside. This made us feel barely noticed. The sushi we ordered was unfortunately very limp and didn't have a good texture. We also ordered a bowl, but the combination was extremely unbalanced: only two pieces of mango and a single slice of avocado, with the rest mostly rice. Due to the service and quality of the food, we currently don't recommend it.

Highly recommended! I had to drive over 300 km to Cologne for personal reasons. Since my partner and I were very hungry, I stumbled upon this sushi bar by chance, and when I saw this good review online, I went in with my partner to eat sushi. Neither I nor my partner regret going here at all. The food was excellent, the service was friendly, and we didn't have to wait long for our drinks or food. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Super delicious food and great service – highly recommended! This was my first time here and I'm absolutely thrilled. I had miso ramen with kaarage, a crispy chicken bao bun, and fried chicken gyoza – everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. The chicken – both in the ramen and the bao – was nice and crispy on the outside and super juicy on the inside. I particularly liked the bao bun: pleasantly soft, and with the peanut brittle on top, it had a really nice crunch. The contrast between the soft bun and the crispy chicken was simply perfect – a great mouthfeel and a perfectly balanced flavor. The ramen noodles were cooked just right, not too soft and not too chewy. The broth was intense, nicely flavorful, but not overly seasoned – you could really drink it all, which is something I rarely do. Really well-seasoned! The gyoza were exactly what you'd want: nice and crispy on the outside, juicy and well-seasoned on the inside. You can really tell that the food here is cooked with love. The service was also top-notch – super friendly, attentive, and pleasantly unobtrusive. You immediately felt at home. My only minor criticism: It was quite warm in the shop, as there's no air conditioning. Given the current temperatures outside, that was a bit of a challenge. A little more lighting would have improved the ambiance even further. But those are minor things. In summary: Really good food, great service, a lovely shop – I'll definitely be back and recommend it to anyone who loves good ramen and the like!

During my visit to Eatsu in Cologne, I opted for an avocado and salmon bowl and a portion of kimchi. Unfortunately, the overall culinary experience didn't impress me. The expectations raised by the modern concept and appealing presentation were disappointed by the actual quality of the food. The avocado and salmon bowl appeared fresh and well-composed at first glance, but the flavor left a lot to be desired. The rice was particularly disappointing: It was far too hard for sushi rice and had an unpleasant consistency, strongly reminiscent of yesterday's rice. This is a significant shortcoming, especially for a bowl where rice forms the basis and thus a significant part of the flavor profile. The other ingredients were fine, but by no means outstanding or particularly aromatic. The kimchi was also rather average and didn't leave a lasting impression. Another point of criticism is the value for money. Considering the quality offered and the very manageable portion size, I find the prices significantly too high. Even in an urban, modern restaurant concept, the name or location doesn't justify exorbitant prices if the product quality can't keep up. The service was fine – polite and sufficiently attentive, but without any particular friendliness or personal touch. At least there was no cause for complaint here. Overall, my visit to Eatsu was disappointing. Neither the quality of the food nor the value for money were convincing. Due to my negative experience, particularly the poorly prepared rice and the small portions at high prices, I unfortunately cannot recommend the restaurant.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my visit today. I had ordered a bao bun, among other things. There were several live aphids on the lettuce that came with the dish. I immediately returned it and alerted the waitress. The quality of the ingredients and the cleanliness in the kitchen don't seem to meet expectations. As a customer, I expect my food to be free of unwanted guests. The fact that there were aphids on my lettuce shows that the kitchen isn't working diligently enough. The sushi, on the other hand, was good.

I tried the Miso Ramen Tantanmen at eatsu and was unfortunately only moderately impressed, especially considering the price. The broth-to-noodle ratio was unbalanced—there were far too many noodles, which overshadowed the broth. Furthermore, the broth had a distinct starchy taste from the noodles, which spoiled the experience. The noodles themselves, unfortunately, were more reminiscent of mie instant noodles than fresh, homemade ramen. Everything was perfectly edible, but overall nothing special. For the price, I had hoped for much more. The service was very friendly, quick, and courteous.

"Buy 1 get 1 free golden chicken bao bun: €15.90." Price on the menu on their website: €7.90. I was also very surprised, as I find it relatively small for €15.90; it feels only slightly larger than an onigiri. Taste OK, points deducted for the "offer."

We ate here a few days ago and went because of the good reviews. To be honest, the bao and some of the side dishes were quite good, but the sushi had a really unpleasant fishy taste and smell; it wasn't that tasty for what's supposed to be a sushi bar. The service was super friendly and attentive, and the drinks were delicious, but the atmosphere was more like a shisha bar, not our style.

The food was ready quickly, fresh, and warm. The value for money was very good, and the staff were very friendly.

Super nice employees! Excellent food! Despite arriving late at 10 p.m. (kitchen closes at 11 p.m.), we received a completely stress-free and extremely friendly welcome. Even ordering dessert late (just before 11 p.m.) wasn't a problem. The food was extremely tasty (we've eaten a lot of Japanese food) and was definitely one of the best we've eaten so far. Starters, sushi and desserts (especially the recommendation of the crispy fried banana lotus), everything was very fresh and incredibly tasty!! The icing on the cake is the price/performance ratio: Absolutely top! We had to pay significantly more in other restaurants. All around a great evening. Thank you!

We visited this sushi bar and absolutely loved it! The strawberry mojito was simply incredibly delicious – refreshing and perfectly balanced. And the sushi rolls… just a dream! Everything was incredibly fresh, very tasty and at the same time really filling - you can tell that only high-quality ingredients are used here. The atmosphere was also very cozy.
