This was our first time eating at eatsu, and I have to say we were thrilled with the bowl and the bao! Very fresh and delicious. The salmon bowl is especially recommended. The sushi, however, wasn't great value for money. Still, 5*****

This is a great place to eat Asian food. We had vegetarian ramen and bowls with tuna or salmon, and for starters, we had edamame, salmon tartare, and octopus. Everything was beautifully presented and well-seasoned. We ate with pleasure. Service was excellent. However, this isn't a place where you want to linger. You just go and eat. The restroom is in the basement...good value for money. Recommended.

Unfortunately, it's not "finest sushi." The shop, right on the lively Friesenplatz with its many restaurants in the area, has an okay-chic decor, but a bit lacking in personality. Why does a Japanese restaurant have 100 bottles of Lillet in the bar? We had a bao bun, which was good: crispy (veggie) chicken, fluffy bun, but a bit heavy on mayo. The "homemade" iced tea is simply syrup mixed with water, unfortunately not at all tasty. €5. And finally, the sushi: the rolls were small, there was little fish, the rice was mushy, and the flavor was unspectacular. Therefore, it didn't impress us at all.

Highly recommended! I've been to many sushi restaurants, but this one is definitely one of the best. The quality of the fish is top-notch – fresh, tender, and perfectly prepared. The rolls are creative, beautifully presented, and taste simply outstanding. A particularly positive aspect: the rice is perfectly seasoned and has just the right consistency. The service is attentive, friendly, and fast, without being intrusive. The ambiance is also very inviting – clean, cozy, and designed with great attention to detail. The value for money here is absolutely spot on.

We enjoyed our visit to eatsu, but the price-performance ratio is a bit high. The takoyaki were only warm on the inside, but the ramen and sushi were very tasty. The dynamite chicken is nicely spicy. The eatsu team is very friendly, polite, and attentive. Requests to omit ingredients were accommodated; a real plus! The lunch menu options are worth mentioning. The ambiance is modern and creatively designed.

Poor value for money! I have nothing to complain about in terms of taste; it was fresh and delicious, although the shrimp should have been larger and more numerous for the price, as should the toppings and sauce! Unfortunately, the value for money here isn't right at all; the price should be significantly lowered for the size of the bowl. Apparently, you're paying more for rent/employees, etc., than for the actual product. On the positive side, I should mention that the water is automatically served with ice cubes and lemon, which I really liked. Conclusion: Once, but not again!

We ate at Eatsu yesterday and were unfortunately disappointed overall. The service seemed very inattentive and seemed more focused on what was happening across the street than on the customers inside. This made us feel barely noticed. The sushi we ordered was unfortunately very limp and didn't have a good texture. We also ordered a bowl, but the combination was extremely unbalanced: only two pieces of mango and a single slice of avocado, with the rest mostly rice. Due to the service and quality of the food, we currently don't recommend it.

Sushi is very good and sashimi is very fresh and good quality. It's not the cheapest place but for fresh sashimi I like to pay some more . Also friendly people.

In addition to the excellent food, I was also impressed by the restaurant team. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive, making the meal a perfect experience all around. Highly recommended! I had to drive over 300 km to Cologne for personal reasons. Since my partner and I were very hungry, I stumbled upon this sushi bar by chance, and when I saw this good review online, I went in with my partner to eat sushi. Neither I nor my partner regret going here at all. The food was excellent, the service was friendly, and we didn't have to wait long for our drinks or food. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Super delicious food and great service – highly recommended! This was my first time here and I'm absolutely thrilled. I had miso ramen with kaarage, a crispy chicken bao bun, and fried chicken gyoza – everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. The chicken – both in the ramen and the bao – was nice and crispy on the outside and super juicy on the inside. I particularly liked the bao bun: pleasantly soft, and with the peanut brittle on top, it had a really nice crunch. The contrast between the soft bun and the crispy chicken was simply perfect – a great mouthfeel and a perfectly balanced flavor. The ramen noodles were cooked just right, not too soft and not too chewy. The broth was intense, nicely flavorful, but not overly seasoned – you could really drink it all, which is something I rarely do. Really well-seasoned! The gyoza were exactly what you'd want: nice and crispy on the outside, juicy and well-seasoned on the inside. You can really tell that the food here is cooked with love. The service was also top-notch – super friendly, attentive, and pleasantly unobtrusive. You immediately felt at home. My only minor criticism: It was quite warm in the shop, as there's no air conditioning. Given the current temperatures outside, that was a bit of a challenge. A little more lighting would have improved the ambiance even further. But those are minor things. In summary: Really good food, great service, a lovely shop – I'll definitely be back and recommend it to anyone who loves good ramen and the like!

During my visit to Eatsu in Cologne, I opted for an avocado and salmon bowl and a portion of kimchi. Unfortunately, the overall culinary experience didn't impress me. The expectations raised by the modern concept and appealing presentation were disappointed by the actual quality of the food. The avocado and salmon bowl appeared fresh and well-composed at first glance, but the flavor left a lot to be desired. The rice was particularly disappointing: It was far too hard for sushi rice and had an unpleasant consistency, strongly reminiscent of yesterday's rice. This is a significant shortcoming, especially for a bowl where rice forms the basis and thus a significant part of the flavor profile. The other ingredients were fine, but by no means outstanding or particularly aromatic. The kimchi was also rather average and didn't leave a lasting impression. Another point of criticism is the value for money. Considering the quality offered and the very manageable portion size, I find the prices significantly too high. Even in an urban, modern restaurant concept, the name or location doesn't justify exorbitant prices if the product quality can't keep up. The service was fine – polite and sufficiently attentive, but without any particular friendliness or personal touch. At least there was no cause for complaint here. Overall, my visit to Eatsu was disappointing. Neither the quality of the food nor the value for money were convincing. Due to my negative experience, particularly the poorly prepared rice and the small portions at high prices, I unfortunately cannot recommend the restaurant.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my visit today. I had ordered a bao bun, among other things. There were several live aphids on the lettuce that came with the dish. I immediately returned it and alerted the waitress. The quality of the ingredients and the cleanliness in the kitchen don't seem to meet expectations. As a customer, I expect my food to be free of unwanted guests. The fact that there were aphids on my lettuce shows that the kitchen isn't working diligently enough. The sushi, on the other hand, was good.

I tried the Miso Ramen Tantanmen at eatsu and was unfortunately only moderately impressed, especially considering the price. The broth-to-noodle ratio was unbalanced—there were far too many noodles, which overshadowed the broth. Furthermore, the broth had a distinct starchy taste from the noodles, which spoiled the experience. The noodles themselves, unfortunately, were more reminiscent of mie instant noodles than fresh, homemade ramen. Everything was perfectly edible, but overall nothing special. For the price, I had hoped for much more. The service was very friendly, quick, and courteous.

"Buy 1 get 1 free golden chicken bao bun: €15.90." Price on the menu on their website: €7.90. I was also very surprised, as I find it relatively small for €15.90; it feels only slightly larger than an onigiri. Taste OK, points deducted for the "offer."

We ate here a few days ago and went because of the good reviews. To be honest, the bao and some of the side dishes were quite good, but the sushi had a really unpleasant fishy taste and smell; it wasn't that tasty for what's supposed to be a sushi bar. The service was super friendly and attentive, and the drinks were delicious, but the atmosphere was more like a shisha bar, not our style.

The food was ready quickly, fresh, and warm. The value for money was very good, and the staff were very friendly.

Super nice employees! Excellent food! Despite arriving late at 10 p.m. (kitchen closes at 11 p.m.), we received a completely stress-free and extremely friendly welcome. Even ordering dessert late (just before 11 p.m.) wasn't a problem. The food was extremely tasty (we've eaten a lot of Japanese food) and was definitely one of the best we've eaten so far. Starters, sushi and desserts (especially the recommendation of the crispy fried banana lotus), everything was very fresh and incredibly tasty!! The icing on the cake is the price/performance ratio: Absolutely top! We had to pay significantly more in other restaurants. All around a great evening. Thank you!

We visited this sushi bar and absolutely loved it! The strawberry mojito was simply incredibly delicious – refreshing and perfectly balanced. And the sushi rolls… just a dream! Everything was incredibly fresh, very tasty and at the same time really filling - you can tell that only high-quality ingredients are used here. The atmosphere was also very cozy. We'll definitely be back!

Two of us made a reservation for 7 p.m. We were ignored for 35 minutes. We were seated at a table and then didn't even get a menu or even a quick glance. We went somewhere else to eat. P.S. The restaurant was otherwise quiet. The two waitresses were standing around at the counter several times, chatting.

The restaurant requires reservations and requires a queue. Luckily, we didn't have to wait and got in directly. We ordered 1 salmon crunch and 2 cocktails. We paid around 35 euros. There were 3 young and very sweet waitresses. We noticed 1 of them was Turkish just as we were leaving :) They were attentive. The atmosphere was pleasant and of high quality. The sushi and cocktails were delicious. We recommend it.

Vegan and vegetarian dishes are also available and taste really good. Everyone is guaranteed to find something here!

An absolutely wonderful restaurant, it is very cutely decorated in Japanese style. But: it is not run by Japanese people. I was very skeptical about this at first, but that has absolutely been proven wrong. The food was incredibly tasty, you didn't have to wait long, the staff was very friendly and the sushi was prepared at the counter. We ordered takoyaki, gyoza and sushi. The takoyaki in particular were extremely tasty! The only drawback: it is also very, very expensive. I think 4 takoyaki cost €8.50, but the money was simply worth spending.

Chicken Crunch Roll & Tiger Roll are outstanding

Highly recommended. The sushi and also the starters are fresh and taste great. Service was super nice and attentive (we were served by Burcu). The selection of drinks also leaves nothing to be desired. The lychee iced tea in particular tastes really great. Here you feel completely at home and enjoy sushi art on a special level. Tip: the surf and turf roll is definitely worth trying!

Yesterday I had dinner at Eatsu with my wife and we were very impressed by the delicious drinks, the presentation and taste of the food and the very friendly and courteous service staff. We'll see each other again very soon 👌🏽

We visited the EATSU restaurant in Cologne in the evening and arrived there at 9:37 p.m. Without prior reservation, we asked for a table for four people. Two service staff took a quick look and then informed us that no table was available - although we could clearly see a free table for four and several tables for two. When asked if we had a reservation, my wife replied, “No.” However, since we had seen in advance on the website that there were still numerous reservation times available, we decided to make a reservation for 9:45 p.m. directly on site. When I told the service person about this, she reacted annoyed and said that it couldn't be done because the system wasn't working properly and wasn't updated. She explained to us that unfortunately she couldn't do anything for us and that we should come back 45 to 60 minutes later. Since we could still see free tables, we asked several times whether there was an opportunity to at least stay for a drink until something became available. The service staff seemed uncommitted and not particularly customer-oriented. After much prodding, we were finally allowed to sit at a table for four. After a short time, more and more tables became available anyway - so the initial rejection was completely unnecessary. If I were the owner, I would seriously think about why guests were being sent away so carelessly instead of finding a flexible solution. Service and ordering process A third service person who finally took our order was extremely friendly and professional. She gave us good recommendations and was significantly more committed than her two previous colleagues - we would like to emphasize that positively. However, there were also some deficiencies in the service during the meal: • Soy sauce was not brought automatically at first. We only got them after we asked - but without a bowl, so we had to ask again. • The beef nigiri that was recommended to us came without parmesan, even though it was advertised as such. It was only when we asked that we were told that Parmesan was no longer available. The friendly service person apologized and offered us a small compensation for the bill. • The beef tataki was served completely without ponzu sauce, even though it was supposed to come with ponzu according to the menu. In response to our complaint, we were given a sauce, but it tasted more like a quickly improvised soy sauce with lime - definitely not a real ponzu sauce. Food & Quality • The sushi rolls tasted good, but the consistency of the rice was not optimal - some pieces fell apart while eating. • The Bao Bun was very tasty and had a convincing taste. • The ambience was stylish and attractive, which left a positive impression. Conclusion Overall, our visit was unfortunately not a particularly good experience. In particular, the poor management when allocating seats and the lack of customer friendliness of the first two service staff made our evening unnecessarily difficult. While the third server really tried hard, the inconsistent service behavior and poor implementation of the food couldn't completely salvage the experience. We see clear potential for improvement here, both in service and in the care taken in the kitchen. Under better circumstances, EATSU would certainly be worth recommending, but after this experience we would think twice about returning.

Food was delicious. Lil bit expensive but its a bar so what can u expect. Hope the waitress can be a lil bit calm and grace esp. when handling the glass and utensils (put slowly on the table). Overall was a good experience.

Very tasty sushi and cool music

Relatively new on Ehrenstrasse, so I tried it out. The menu is a nice mix of Asian cuisine, which I personally think is good, so you don't necessarily have to just eat sushi. This time we only ate sushi. It was okay, but nothing special and very, very expensive. We also waited a very long time. The service is nice, but unfortunately not very professional. Maybe I would eat here again, but then I would definitely not try sushi anymore, but rather try something else on the menu.
