Eataly Munich in München

Restaurant: The food is tasty, the pizza is good, but the place is often very crowded and the staff can't keep up. Market: Completely overpriced. Products that cost €1.20 in Italy are €5.99 here, and so on. Exactly the same products/brands, but five times the price. In other words, you're mainly paying for the atmosphere.

The grilled calamari was lukewarm and undercooked, the mashed potatoes tasteless and cold. €29 is too expensive and too poor for that. There are other places in the neighborhood that know how to cook. The stuffed zucchini blossoms were soaked in grease. That, too, could be done much better. What a shame. Nice location, bad food. Service okay, wine okay. The rest is forgettable. I won't be coming back. What a pity.

I'm very disappointed with the quality of the food (lasagna/pasta), especially considering the high prices (€30 per person). Only the service was okay, although they were clearly stressed (it was like a train station, and the noise level was high).

The pizza was something that vaguely resembled the original, burnt, hollow, and flat. I'm talking about the calzone. Helpful advice: avoid it.

Worst service I've ever had at an Aperol bar

Plenty of choice and enjoyable to browse, but the quality and the prices are miles apart. Either the quality needs to improve or the prices need to drop for it to become a genuinely worthwhile destination.

For me, it's a wonderful taste of Italy. The food is delicious, though not exactly cheap. But they use different ingredients, ones you wouldn't typically find as toppings on regular pizzas. There's also an outdoor seating area in the summer. Insider tip: the ice cream parlor at Eataly has authentic Italian gelato, served by the scoop!

We waited a long time for the food, and the pasta didn't have much flavor; I even felt a bit sick afterward. The price and quality definitely don't match.

Dear Eataly Team, I've been a loyal customer since you opened in Munich and have always enjoyed shopping with you because the products are truly high-quality and delicious. Unfortunately, I'm now quite disappointed with you and your customer service. I wanted to redeem some gift vouchers I received a while ago. These vouchers have no expiration date printed on them. I first tried to redeem them at the checkout, but it didn't work because they had expired. I was politely directed to the information desk, where I was dealt with very quickly and referred to email customer service. There, I immediately received a standard email referencing Section 195 of the German Civil Code (BGB) and the validity of gift vouchers. Even after further polite inquiries, no compromise was offered. To be honest, I've never experienced a store letting gift vouchers expire. Until now, all the stores I've shopped at have been accommodating and honored the voucher for me. Now, €100 of voucher value is lost. Of course, I would also be satisfied with a refund, even if it doesn't cover the full amount. Please include the date on the voucher in future editions, so we can at least keep track of it! Worst Eataly I have ever been to. I frequent the one in Ginza Tokyo and the service here and the food was terrible. The food was bland, no seasoning and the server inattentive.

Unfortunately, my experience at Eataly in Munich was very disappointing. The prices are extremely high and, in my opinion, completely disproportionate to the quality offered. For a store that claims to represent Italian products and cuisine, I expected significantly more. Overall, the price-performance ratio is simply not right for me. Therefore, I'm unlikely to return.

Too crowded, too expensive, but top quality

It opens around 12 and we visited with 5 people the server was very kind. We had 2 pasta one pizza and soup of today. Pasta would cook right but i felt texture is hard . And soup was beetroot soup ~ feeling healthy

A fantastic, diverse selection of Italian food products. Excellent quality.

The food in the café area is good, but very expensive. The atmosphere is okay, but not cozy.

A rip-off. Questionable hygiene conditions behind the scenes. Overpriced goods. Slickly presented and fancy. In Italy itself, you'd pay at most half the price for the same products. Only the bakery has anything worthwhile: organic bread at a somewhat reasonable price. Otherwise, it's all show and shine. ✨

My experience was truly disastrous. The service is incredibly slow. We ordered an appetizer, but it was completely forgotten. Then, despite asking several times, the main course took almost 50 minutes. I ordered my meat medium, but they couldn't even manage that – it arrived completely raw in the middle. I wouldn't recommend eating here, especially since it's also expensive for what they offer.

Got the Eataly pasta. Sauce was not good, at least not what I’m used to at Italian eateries. No spice other than lots of salt. Definitely would not eat here again.

An exceptionally large selection of Italian food and dishes.

What more could you want? A great selection of unusual products, albeit a bit pricey. Everything was great, and the staff were friendly. I'd gladly come back.

We had lunch this afternoon and it was much better than expected. A special thank you to Ioannis for the great service; thanks to his recommendations for white truffles, we had the best pasta ever. We'll definitely be back.

I don’t understand what’s going on with them. This place used to be amazing, but we don’t go there anymore. The service has become terrible, and the waiters have started acting arrogantly.

Nice selection of Italian delicacies. However, I bought Italian raw sausages from the butcher there and was really looking forward to them, but they were inedible! Terrible quality, not fresh in my opinion, and a complete taste disaster! The Parma ham I bought was also awful! My review refers specifically to the butcher shop located there!

Spritz evening wasn't great; only standing tables, uncomfortable, the Spritz was very thin and watery, and the food wasn't anything special. The antipasti was good, but otherwise not so much. The pizza was cold and too thick, with no flavor. Overall, bad. We left after an hour and won't be back.

Every Eataly I have been to has been a great experience both in food, service and shopping and this Munich location was no exception. The pizza was delicious, the risotto bites were flavorful and our server brought us extra ice without asking for our drinks (knowing what many American tourists might want). It’s a beautiful building as well although the shopping section may feel limited compared to other Eataly locations you may have been to.

Bad service. Bad food. Definitely not a highlight. Only the price is incredibly exorbitant!

Eataly Munich offers a great selection of Italian specialties…pasta, pizza, fresh ingredients, and high-quality delicacies. The atmosphere is modern and cozy, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The only downside: the prices are quite high, especially for drinks and snacks. Nevertheless, it's worth a visit if you're in the mood for Italian food in a relaxed setting.

1. Wrong pizza served. 2. Wrong beer brought. 3. Server nowhere to be seen. 4. Pizza dough terrible… Frozen pizza tastes better. The dough was elastic like rubber.

Very nice shop, great products, delicious food

We had a reservation for six people, but were given a standing table in the bar area for four. During the meal, we were practically knocking each other's plates off the table. On top of that, the waiter was incredibly rude. The pizza crust was tasty, but practically the entire pizza was just crust, as the toppings were minimal. A shame, considering the price; there are many better pizzas and, more importantly, much nicer service and customer service in Munich. I wouldn't go back.

The pizza used to be sooo good and now it’s horrible. Poor representation of Neapolitan pizza. They used to show how long the dough was being kneaded but that’s all gone. Guess it got touristy and so the quality reduced. Still a nice place overall.

Was here for lunch, you can eat or buy their Italy products here. Had the pasta alle vongole, the pasta no taste at all, was cold & the clams are smelly .. not recommended maybe this dish! Had dessert tiramisu, slightly sweet but taste fine

Beware of the taglioni with black truffle! We had it for lunch today, and on the way home, the food in our throats was saying "hello" again... It came back up... yuck! The truffle was grated, not sliced, as I would have expected. A lot of money was spent just to make you feel sick.

Large selection, fresh specialties — great!

Ambience was nice, service was good, however, the food was not what we would expect at an Italian restaurant, at all. And very much overpriced. Never again.

Authentic store I've been coming here for years. A bit pricey, but top-quality products.

I bought a lot of cookies and other things there. The cashier was a bit too blunt for me and didn't manage to be even remotely friendly. It's a shame. The affogato was tasty, but a bit overpriced. Honestly, I don't know if I'd want to go back there again.

Everything here is Italian. Even the service seems authentic, which is certainly not common these days. We received quick, friendly, and attentive service. The prices are a bit above average, as is to be expected in this part of Munich. If you're interested, you can purchase Italian groceries and specialties in nearby stores.

The pizzas are good. However, the service leaves a lot to be desired (the servers prefer to talk rather than take orders).

I’ll start with the negatives first because I think that what I’m about to tell you is important especially if you’re visiting Munich. The people that work at this place are very rude for no reason at all. The female cashier that checked us out was so rude that even I as a German was shocked. I always feel like a little goes a long way but there was just straight disgust, I think she thought I was American too like my husband and didn’t like us because of that alone. I was still very nice to her but not one single word came out of her mouth. Positives are above all the great selection of Italian food, fresh meats and chocolates, cookies and pasta. It’s absolutely amazing! The food is also very good if you can get over the attitudes. ;)

Awesome experience. Eataly is a restaurant, winery, and supermarket all in one. The restaurant was delicious, the market was full of options, and the overall service and experience was great. Highly recommended!

Excellent offer for someone who looks for italian products in Munchen

Eataly offers a huge selection of Italian specialties and fresh produce, so there's nothing to complain about. Unfortunately, the prices are extremely high, so shopping quickly becomes expensive. Those willing to pay that much will find great products, but it's not really suitable for bargain hunters or everyday shopping.

We come here two or three times a week to buy groceries, drink Aperol Spritz, and enjoy espresso with millefeuille. The atmosphere here is very similar to that of Italy itself. The food on offer is of the highest quality and highly recommended without exception.

Eataly is pure Italian heaven 🇮🇹🧀 — grab cheese, enjoy a fresh pasta lunch, or treat yourself to gelato. Everything here feels heavenly and makes you fall in love with Italy in Munich.

Caffè macchiato at 2.90 you expect frothed milk...instead a coffee with a drop of lukewarm milk...annoyed staff...I just had a coffee and it arrived immediately...almost cold...it had probably been made before by mistake and they passed it off to me...congratulations!!!

Worst food. Plates smelled so bad like dish water. Ordered fish and sent it back cause it literally stank and tasted like a sewer. Out of 3 people none of us enjoyed our meals cause the plates smelld so strong and terrible . Idk what they wash their dishes with 🤢🤢🤢🤢

We were a small geoup of 3 people, arrived around 7pm and left after 11pm. The staff was friendly and helpfull, drinks were amazingly good, I can assure it was the best Aperol Spritz I ever had! Unfortunately, we forgot to register the delicious plated tiramissu. It was a great experience, I will be back when in München again.

Very pleasant place, a little removed from the crowds of Marienplatz, and more refined. Good, homemade food with Italian products, which you can also buy to go. Great ice cream shops. Worth a visit.

We picked Eataly for a Family Dinner for 6 persons and were amazed by the fantastic atmosphere and food quality. In addition we have to highlight our host for that evening which was Sandro Piscitelli. His eye for detail and excellent hospitality skills made it a perfect evening out for us! We will definitely come again and ask for Sandro!

Great food and a pleasant atmosphere. If you're looking for authentic Italian products, you've come to the right place, or for a glass of wine, an espresso, or a small snack.

Seen a rat yesterday and almost everything I ate there was loaded with tomato sauce which is odd, because usually Eataly makes great food, avoid this branch + servers not attentive

Delicious pasta and a fantastic Caprese. The avocado salad was okay, but the dessert was unfortunately too sweet for our taste. However, the staff was incredibly warm and attentive.

WARNING: THE RESTAURANT IS FULL OF MICE! This review is not about the food. We walked past Eataly last night. The premises are full of mice, both inside and out. You can practically see them inside, running around on the tables and on the floor.

Two years ago, I bought a raw ham sandwich from Eataly Munich. After eating half of my sandwich, I bit into something very hard. I suffered from pain for several hours until the pain subsided. A few months later, I went to my dentist because the pain persisted. He diagnosed me that my tooth had been broken and that it would not be possible to treat it. Today, I have a dental implant. In short, I do not recommend their sandwiches at all! Avoid them!

Great food, good quality, very friendly and attentive staff.

The deals are amazing, with something for everyone who can afford it. I didn't buy much. Everything is extremely expensive. But the quality and selection are very good.

Unfortunately, the food there is nothing special, just very expensive. Considering it's a delicatessen, we expected more. The waiters are unfortunately very arrogant and slow. The ice cream factory there is outstanding and highly recommended! Definitely the best ice cream we've ever tasted.

Bringing colors and soul to Munich!

Food in Italy and Italian restaurants in general are great for people who need to eat gluten free ( like I do). Eataly is not like most Italian restaurant and caters surprisingly poorly for gluten free options. I had to make a meal up from some sides, which didn’t work for me. GF pasta is so easy for other restaurants, why not here?

Very unfriendly service, food was burnt. Honestly, for a pizza costing €20+, you'd expect it to at least not be burnt black. There was no air conditioning.

The affogato was a regular coffee with a dollop of vanilla ice cream, which had already melted by the time I had the cup in my hand. When I asked about it, I was met with unfriendly looks.

A must-visit. It's fun to browse the shelves. There's a large wine and spirits shop in the basement. Highly recommended. Enjoy one of the delicious treats at the espresso stand.

All the products are of high quality, which unfortunately comes at a price. It's definitely delicious. We had a slice of pizza as a snack for two.

Was there for tiramisu (the one in manhattan is delicious). This one sucked with too much cream and very little bit of the core layer. The pasta (soup of tomato paste!) and ceasar salad (too sugary!) were terrible and came before our main dish, pizza margarita which was standard-good. Eataly has no place in europe’s sophisticated food scene, imho and does no justice to italian cuisine. Definitely under 3.5 rating

The waitress, Ioannis, is extremely friendly, competent, and very accommodating. 👍👍 We felt really good about the advice and selection. 👍 They accommodated our vegan requests. The food was delicious, and the dessert, the tiramisu, was divinely amazing... ❤️ The Schrannenhalle is always recommended for a good meal and a culinary treat.

Super nice service, they even split the pizza we wanted to share between two plates. The Boulevardier was also excellently mixed. We didn't find the pizza Margarita itself so great, as the tomato sauce was almost too runny.

It's always great to shop there, like a little trip to Italy. The pizza slices are also delicious.

That was the worst carbonara I've ever eaten. I enjoy carbonara everywhere, but definitely not at the Eataly hall. The bacon was black, hard, and burnt. A disaster. The staff was overwhelmed and unfriendly. Only one waitress was nice and said she was sorry.

The staff was not very friendly, the pizza was good but the price was very high and to this we must add that it is the only place I have visited in Munich where cockroaches walk around like Peter in his house, on the terrace of the restaurant.

They were laughing at us for not wanting to eat with bugs/roaches under our table because it apparently is not their job to take care of that. We asked for the manager but they didn't get them and just kept getting closer to our face while talking. We felt attacked for having a genuine problem with allergies and unhygienic environment. Dint expect this in Munich and encountered it for the first time and felt unsafe. We paid our bill and left because we did not complain because of the bill or anything, we didn't even eat our food. We just left because of the behavior of the staff and how impolite and condescending they were. They asked us questions like if we are from here and why we are not speaking German. NEVER GO THERE. There are many other places for Italian. Everyone there needs to get fired. I know that Munich city doesn't take food hygiene lightly, so this is an appeal. We had a really bad experience.
