Due Amici in Hamburg

We spontaneously decided to go to Due Amici – which worked out well since there was a table available. Atmosphere: Unfortunately, it was quite dark overall; the lighting could definitely be improved. The window by the entrance door couldn't be closed when we asked, as it's needed for kitchen ventilation. On the plus side, they offered us blankets. Service: Overall, it was okay, but a bit inattentive. There's definitely room for improvement here. Food: The salami pizza was fine in terms of dough and taste. The carbonara was very rich for our taste – lots of sauce, but relatively little pasta, although it tasted good. The bruschetta was also quite generous, but it tasted good. Observation: We also noticed that small dips (e.g., garlic oil) were simply put back, along with the spoons, and then passed on to other guests. We were sitting right next to them and could clearly see this. In our opinion, this raises hygiene concerns and is somewhat questionable. Conclusion: Overall, our visit was unsatisfactory in several respects – from the very dark ambiance and the rather inattentive service to what we considered to be hygiene concerns. Therefore, we would not currently recommend this restaurant. Suggestions for improvement: A little more light would significantly improve the atmosphere. More attentive service would also enhance the experience. Furthermore, from a hygiene perspective, it would be preferable if the small dips were freshly prepared for each table.

We spontaneously decided to eat here one evening and got a table for two without a reservation. However, it's a small restaurant, so a reservation is probably recommended. We received a very warm welcome, and the service was equally friendly and attentive. We felt very comfortable. The food was also excellent! I had a salad, and my boyfriend had a delicious pizza. We would definitely come back if we're ever in the area again.

We'd especially like to highlight the excellent service: attentive, warm, and humorous. We were a group of friends of about 35 people and felt welcome from the very first moment. We discovered the restaurant by chance and tried it out. I always eat the same dishes at Italian restaurants and have rarely found them so delicious. We also celebrated our parsley wedding here, and it's the first time in my life that I have a "regular" restaurant.

I've been a customer for years and have always been satisfied. But what happened today was so rude, disgusting, and unprofessional that I decided to write this review. (Edit/Addition: I have to say, however, that just two weeks ago, a completely different staff was working there. Was the place taken over?) The restaurant was busy (outside), but not full; there were still a few tables available. Inside, all the tables were free. After 50 minutes, we asked for our drinks (it was 31 degrees Celsius in Hamburg today, so water would have been good...). The drinks came in dirty glasses (both inside and out). We sent them back. By then, we had been in the restaurant for 75 minutes without food and told the staff that we wanted to take the pizzas with us. The waitress came with the bill and wanted to collect the pizzas and drinks (in the dirty glasses we didn't drink). Of course, we didn't pay for the drinks. Unfortunately, there wasn't a single word of apology. Tjanun. After about 40 minutes, we ordered a third pizza to take away. As we left, we were told that it wasn't ready yet because the orders of the people eating in had priority. We said we would pick it up in 20 minutes. When we returned to the restaurant 30 minutes later, the pizza wasn't even ready. We then canceled the pizza and were asked to leave by a rather rude lady. That was really, really bad across the board.

Very tasty pizza and pasta. Fast and friendly service! Take into account that the restaurant only accept German debit cards. No credit cards and no international debit cards. The owner does have a backup via PayPal which works great.

Super friendly and definitely the best pizza in the entire 2km radius. I love it❤️ I paid €36.90 for two pizzas (with three extra toppings) and a small beer to cover the wait, with a wait of exactly 11 minutes. The only faster way to get there is to pre-order, but then I'd have to miss out on the beer and a few friendly words with the team.

The price/performance ratio here is 100% right. The portions are large and tasty, so you'll definitely feel full. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the servers were friendly.

If you want to wait 30 minutes between starter and main course, go ahead. When I asked the waiter about it, he tried to explain to me that this was completely normal. Maybe that's the case there, then I'm grateful to know this. So next time we can head to another Italian restaurant. It's a shame, it was pretty nice there. A little tip: people often react positively to a smile and are understanding when something goes wrong and you can admit it charmingly.

Spontaneously went to Due Amici, we got the No. 1 from the daily menu. 1 tortelloni with fresh chanterelles & beef fillet tips and the No 5 Pizza Mexicana. We were thrilled. Rarely have I eaten so well at an Italian restaurant. We'll definitely come back.

Our son has recently been living in HH ;-) and said “well rated and around the corner” -> so reserved and tried it out. One word: great! We had fantastic Spaghetti Carbonara, a Pizza Due Amici and a Pizza Diavola. Both the Parma ham and the Parmesan (rocket anyway) on my “Due Amici” were sauguad in Bavarian style, so great! We will definitely come back the next time we visit Hamburg/Sohn. Grazie mille a voi due fratelli!

Pizza -Spinach was based on the Pizza Margarita with some fresh spinach leaves served tasteless and very dry. The pasta funghi was lower middle class. The restaurant treated guests differently; the waiter served some a glass of schnapps and some not. The farewell was completely forgotten.

Super friendly staff, prices OK (not super cheap but fair), tasty salad. My kids (6 and 3) finished their pizza and pasta, respectively, so that's a huge compliment to the chef. Even got a shot of sambuca on the house, and the kids got a cute shot of maracuja juice with grenadine sirup. Very thoughtful, and not at all common these days.

If your trip takes you to Hamburg. DEFINITELY stop by this commendable restaurant. The pasta is better than in Italy. The service is for 10 stars. We had the pleasure of being served by the owner and his mother-in-law, who even speaks Croatian quite well. And coffee coffee coffee deserves special praise. The macchiato is one of the best I've had in Deutsch. I ordered a pizza for the trip. I must say that I am more than delighted with the pizza. The dough is thin and crispy and the filling is more than good. I MUST NOTE! Out of more than 20 bars in Hamburg, HERE I found the cleanest and neatest toilet. My great RECOMMENDATION!

Surprisingly good. Went there with the family, everyone was happy! Even extra plates for a child are no problem. Very nice service, good food and good value for money. Unfortunately, the outdoor seating is right on the street. We'll still come back.

For a simple dinner you can walk by and sit outside. But the map is a bit uninspired. The pizza is okay. No more and no less. It's actually a shame, because the dough is really good, but the tomato sauce and cheese are simply not high enough to convince in terms of taste or to create enthusiasm.

We got there, an employee was sitting outside. After 5 minutes someone comes to us from the kitchen area. All tables reserved. Wur ask for a table and get it (like all subsequent guests). We're done. Pizza good, nothing more. We ask for dessert, almost anything... We don't take dessert. After 10 minutes someone comes to collect and clear away. Small annoying factor, my girlfriend has epilepsy and the lamps flickered like in a horror film... All in all, unfortunately mixed. I would have hoped for more from the reviews

A hot tip for all vegetarians and vegans 🌱 After a long search for a new restaurant where we could spend the evening, we came across this sweet and beautiful restaurant. There were three of us here and as vegetarians it really wasn't difficult to choose. In addition to the classic vegetarian Italian dishes, there was also a page with vegan dishes, which really appealed to me personally! The service was super accommodating and also extremely warm and you immediately felt very comfortable. At the end, we were also offered non-alcoholic juices to toast, with which we could toast to a very successful evening! We'll be back 😊

We went to the Due Amici as a group for the after work dinner and had an overall good experience - great service, delicious food, good prices. There were pizza and pasta dishes for both vegans and gluten-free pasta versions, so there was something for everyone. The homemade tiramisu was a nice ending.
