IL LOCALE in Hamburg

Very disappointing. We waited 1.2 hours for our pizza and we weren't the only ones who were hungry. Everyone around us waited forever, only one older couple was given preferential treatment (presumably friends of the house?). We are used to better things from other Italian restaurants; we weren't even served bread or olives. The pizza was okay, but it is disproportionate to the poor organization. We won't be coming back.

A tiny Italian gem in Ottensen. The owner is very friendly and caters to all your needs. Highly recommend the pizzas and the Suppli!

Very great appetizer with fried rice balls with ragout and mozzarella filling! Pizza very large and tasty. Around €40-50 per person for three courses plus aperitif and espresso is very, very fair. Great ambience. Very small deduction for the dessert - it tastes a bit bland (tartufo) Espresso very good. It was not possible to pay the bill at the table - at least when we were there. Also so-so. But we'd love to come back👍🏻

Il Locale simply has a relaxed, hospitable atmosphere, you immediately feel like you are in Italy. Everyone speaks Italian among themselves, the food is super delicious, whether it's starters, pasta, pizza or dessert. My favorites are pizza zucchini, bavette al mare and the white mousse with berries panna cotta. This time I tried the salad with goat cheese and what can I say... delicious 😊

Great unusual pizzas. Unfortunately you always need a reservation and it is very noisy.

At IL Locale they want to do a lot of things differently. This is how you want to prove that a good open wine doesn't have to cost the earth. Make the pizza dough yourself and let it sit for at least 24 hours, preferably 48. The rustic ambience also has its coziness but the modern one doesn't have to be neglected either. That the kitchen can do more than just pasta and pizza, but can also score points with good dishes.

Cozy restaurant in the Ottensen district. Tasty pizza, but because most of the toppings were spread cold on the pizza after baking, the pizza got cold very quickly.

Unfortunately it was hard to cut through the pizza, maybe we would have needed a steak knife... what a shame🤨

After we placed our order, the waitress came to us and told us that the pasta we had ordered was unfortunately out. Of course, this can happen - but the range of alternatives on offer was not comparable to the desired dish. Disappointingly, the two pasta dishes we received didn't look anything like the photos and were inedible. The sauces were tasteless and the carbonara had cream and a lot of it. Poorly seasoned and very oily too. The parmesan and the truffle were also not fresh but industrial. I don't know if the actual chef was sick or we just had a bad day but at €62 for two dishes and two cokes we definitely won't be eating here again. The quality of the food is definitely much better at other Italian restaurants in the area!

Very nice restaurant and a “real” Italian! We ate the best pizza here in a very, very long time. Even though the prices have increased, the quality is really good! Oh and there's Peroni on tap! So refreshing! 😋

Went there for dinner around 6 p.m. without a table reservation. GOOD: very tasty food, special children's pizza, nice atmosphere, very nice staff, clean toilets NOT GOOD: Tables are too small for 2 pizzas. The plates look beyond the table. Service doesn't come and ask if you want any more drinks.

Pizzas themselves are very tasty, but unfortunately the vegan cheese maker doesn't taste good at all. Food is relatively expensive, drinks prices are fair. Service was friendly.

Unfortunately we had to wait a long time for our food. Guests who came after us had almost finished their dishes when our food arrived. We had a lot of pizza and pasta, starters and desserts in the group. Everything is very tasty and individually prepared! There is also a day ticket. Update a year later: Went there again at the invitation of a guest. After the starter we waited almost an hour for the main courses. Although our group was still eating, the dishes of the other guests at our table were already being cleared away. This is a service no go!!! And it's very loud there. Appropriate decoration would help!

I'm Italian, I've been living in Hamburg for a year... I'll tell you... a very Italian restaurant, you eat like we do in Italy, it cooks with real Italian flavours. This is because... the owner of the restaurant has a great passion for Italian cuisine with fresh products imported from our country. Then the pizza... I am a pizza enthusiast and I can say that the pizza dough is fantastic, very good just like I eat it here in Italy. Passion, this is the real secret of a successful restaurant and the place absolutely is so with an excellent, friendly and professional staff... Leute, wir waren am Samstag Abends aufgrund einer Empfehlung essen und es hat von A bis Z alles gestimmt. Die Speisen waren authentisch und doch modern. Pastagerichte waren ein Traum! Der Service dazu sehr höflich und aufmerksam. Eine Bereicherung für Altona!

Für mich bis jetzt die beste Pizza in Hamburg. Lokal ist gemütlich Italienisch aber man benötigt kein Dresscode. Spontane besuche sind dadurch nicht die Seltenheit.

Hab mir eine Pizza Margherita bestellt und fand sie wirklich unspektakulär sorry. Trotz Knoblauchöl hat ihr einfach etwas Kick gefehlt. Will nicht wissen wie fad sie ohne das Öl geschmeckt hätte. 5,9/10

The pizza was one of the best that I had so far in Hamburg, with fresh ingredients. The tomato sauce is to die for, and the pizza crust is nice and crunchy! Drinks are very well prepared and they have nice vegetarian options too. The staff is also great, they are kind and patient with the ones like me that don't speak German very well. They also speak Italian, and there's a girl that speaks a little bit of English. È davvero una casa italiana! Great experience, I'll come back for sure.

Super leckeres Essen und ein sehr zuvorkommender Service. Riccardo war wirklich sehr aufmerksam. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt und wir kommen sehr sehr gerne wieder.

Ich war mit Freunden an einem gemütlichen Donnerstagabend da. Mich hat der Duft getriggert als ich am Restaurant vorbei gelaufen bin. Der Service war super. Es war ein familiäres Ambiete, cool eingerichtet in schön renoviertem Glanz. Das Essen schmeckte. Wir haben zwar keine Pizza gegessen, was ihre Spezialität ist, dennoch waren wir von der Cannelloni und der Pasta sehr überzeugt und wollen nun unbedingt mal die Pizza schmecken. Geht da unbedingt mal hin, wenn ihr auf der Ecke seid.

Buona la pizza, pasta all'amatriciana molto gustosa. Locale ben arredato e sopratutto un posto dove si possa mangiare italiano. Camerieri molto disponibili e efficienti. Ci tornerò sicuramente e porterò anche amici.

Auf dem Weg von der Nordsee zu den Alpen hatten wir in Hamburg Altona einen kleinen Zwischenstop eingeplant, um was zwischen die Zähne zu bekommen. Da unser eigenliches Lieblingslokal an dem Abend überraschenderweise geschlossen war, mussten wir auf Suche gehen und sind nach einiger Zeit im Il Locale gelandet. Einer der Gründe war hier sicherlich, dass man bereits ab 17:00 Uhr was zu essen bekommt, in Ottensen eher schwierig (wenn man mal von Fast-Food absieht...) Den etwas weiteren Weg vom Bahnhof Altona haben wir dann auch nicht bereut. Die Karte ist klein aber die Pizzen reissen das wieder raus (o.k. sehr umfangreiche Speisekarten machen mich immer nervös - so viele Zutaten kann keine Küche frisch vorrätig halten...) Wir haben unsere knusprige Pizzen auf jeden Fall sehr genossen - auch wenn die Lieferung etwas länger gedauert hat. Schliesslich sind wir in einem Restaurant und nicht an der Fast-Food-Theke...

Was here with my mate and we had a blast ! Francesco was an amazing host and served us very lovely with amazing pizza, wine and grappa ! We will definitely come back, both because the pizza dough was stunning and the house wine suited very well. Molto bene.

Der Service war das Schlechteste, was ich jemals erlebt habe. Nudeln matschig (vorgekocht?) und kalt, Pizza eher trocken, sah aber gut aus. Wir warteten mind. 30 min auf die Getränke, das Essen wurde erst nach 1,5h gebracht. Auf Nachfrage oder freundliche Kritik wird ironisch oder patzig reagiert. Abgeräumt wurde auch nicht. Wir hätten gerne noch Wein getrunken, aber da keine Bedienung kam und auch niemand organisierbar war, saßen wir 1 Stunde ohne Getränk da - kein Wasser, kein Wein. An Umsatz scheint das Il Locale kein Interesse zu haben. Möglicherweise ist allerdings das Restaurant daneben-KARLS- ein Geheimtipp. Zum Essengehen war das nix.

Die Auswahl an Speisen ist begrenzt. Die gewählten Gerichte dauern etwas lange, waren geschmacklich gut, hatten aber keinen Pfiff. Die Hausweine sind gut und preislich OK. Der Service ist freundlich, aber angesichts des gut gefüllten Restaurants etwas überfordert. Alles in allem ein ordentlicher Italiener, aber nicht aufregend.

Auf Empfehlung eines Verwandten haben wir il locale aufgesucht. Die Reservierung im Vorfeld war problemfrei möglich. Am Abend selbst mussten...

Had the most awesome pizza with Salami Pikante. Crust was just right. Thin and crusty underneith. And just a little burnt to give that special flavour. Best i had in HH and up there overall. We will come back.
