We went to Dim Sum in October 2024. Without a reservation we didn't feel as welcome and that feeling stayed with us throughout our stay there. The much-praised dim sum was, well, pretty tasteless, the other dishes were like those from a Chinese who has been in Germany for a long time. Everything matches the ambience. Unfortunately it was a shame, we came especially from Berlin after an episode of Kitchen Impossible where dim sum was a topic.

Food is not so good as before. Very salty. A note and suggestion for improvement: If German guests behave badly and simply put their shoes on the chairs and shout loudly, the service staff should intervene and stop the bad behavior. We are Germans ourselves and are annoyed by these types of guests because we are also affected by them.

It was my first time there and I ordered Peking duck. The service was super friendly and explained exactly how to eat the duck. The dim sums we ordered were also delicious. All in all, I really enjoyed it. If I'm in Hamburg again I will definitely come back. From me there is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dimsum are unbeatable. The duck 130 was not as tender as expected. We've also had better Peking soup. The 109 was well seasoned but the vegetables consisted mainly of green and red peppers and some bamboo.

We went to Dim Sum House to eat Peking duck. Due to my allergy to fish and seafood, I asked for an allergy card. Unfortunately, this did not exist, although it is mandatory in Germany. Demand in the kitchen also turned out to be a problem. The sauce and marinade are the chef's secret recipe. I find it completely incomprehensible how the service can be so incompetent and uncooperative. As I wanted to leave, a ready-made sauce was suddenly brought to me and I was supposed to check the list of ingredients. It all worked out. After an eternity of waiting, the Peking duck arrives… bedded on prawn chips. I could just take them down. But unfortunately I can't. So there was nothing for me to eat and instead I went to McDonalds at the main train station. At least allergies are dealt with competently there.

We received a very warm welcome and were very satisfied with the food afterwards. The service was also very attentive and friendly. We'd love to come back.

Reservation at 8:00 p.m., according to conditions until 10:00 p.m. Arrived at 7:50 p.m. and there was a line of about 5-10 parties waiting at the entrance, all of whom had reservations. We had a table at 8:40 p.m. and were told that we really had to leave again at 10:00 p.m. When after another 15 minutes no one from the service team had asked for an order, we gave up and left again.

The Asian waiter was very unfriendly, he seemed very annoyed. He was suddenly friendly only when it came to paying and when he asked for a tip. Our table neighbors felt the same way too.

Unfortunately, everything seemed a bit after the guests had been processed. It was very well attended, but the staff hardly took any time for the individual guests in order to make the evening and everything surrounding it enjoyable. The food was all very good without exception.

The duck was tasty, but way too expensive, 5 extra for the flatbreads, all served on very cold plates! Even the duck! Even the soup was only warm, not even hot. Sorry but as a hamburger this is a rip off! 1x and not recommended! No alternatives were mentioned or offered or anything was said about the food!

Great Chinese restaurant opposite the main train station. We celebrated the company's Christmas party here and were more than satisfied. We were a bit skeptical at first when booking, as a maximum time slot of 2 hours was given. However, it wasn't a problem to stay much longer. We ate a lot of little things that we shared. Delicious and absolutely authentic.

A tradition in Hamburg for many years. Authentic Asian cuisine. The dim sum was really a taste experience!

The food was excellent as always. Especially the vegetarian dishes including dumplings, and my octopus with flat rice noodles. As a connoisseur, I appreciated the quality of oolong tea. Unfortunately, that lunchtime the service came across as slightly annoyed and impatient. Which was a shame because the restaurant was by no means full. Nevertheless, we won't let that stop us from coming back because the food is tastier and more original than in most Chinese restaurants.

The guest, who is known to eat Peking duck with his fingers, was not given a rolled, damp washcloth to clean his hands in advance, but - like in a chicken grill - he was given a scented cleaning cloth in foil, which he could put on his hands after cleaning Had to lay the tablecloth. The whole duck came to the table cut up and was probably not a particularly large bird (for three people). The skin (with meat) was not cut into thin strips the length of the lettuce strips, but it came on a plate in rectangles, which is very inconvenient for the wraps. The taste was also far removed from what we know from the Hamburg Peking Duck House, compared to which the Dim Sum House leaves something to be desired. After eating we had to wash our hands in the toilet. Price: "Peking duck 1/1 carved 78.00" euros

We were there for the first time because of the frequent mentions on TV that there is supposed to be great food there. Unfortunately, I can't agree with that at all. We ordered the Peking duck, which was not carved at the table (like in another well-known restaurant) but came in pieces on a large plate. The menu already says it is served lukewarm, but it was far from that, it was cold. Either the waitress had a really bad day, if that's the standard, you have to say she's wrong for the job. She brought us the food and it was literally slapped on the table in front of us. No question, do you know how to handle eating a Peking duck? Should I explain something about this? No, she didn't even say "Enjoy your meal" and just turned around and left. We were really shocked by such behavior. We've never experienced anything like this before. Overall, not worth the money in terms of price-performance ratio. After an experience like that, I wouldn't eat there again. And even though they say it's an authentic restaurant, I personally have to say that this kitschy one with a thousand red paper lanterns on the ceiling isn't for me. The lampshade on our table lamp was stuck crookedly with adhesive tape, so I always think please repair it properly or replace it buy. I don't understand this mentality. On the way to the toilet there were boxes of drinks on the floor, which doesn't make a good impression either. If the owners of the restaurant read this, the friendliness of the staff is essential for satisfied customers.

First of all, I think that maybe we just ordered the wrong food and that other people probably like the food better. Unfortunately not for us. the duck was good! We were also very unlucky when it came to service. We had never experienced such poor and rude service. (a blonde young lady with an Eastern European dialect).

We had extremely friendly service who answered all of our questions competently. Service was quick - almost too quick. I would have liked to take a short break between each course. Next time, I will announce this in advance. We think it's a shame that a booked table is limited to 2 hours. For a cozy evening in good company, that's pretty tight. Nevertheless, we would like to come back - the date for the Peking duck is already booked.

There was a round table next to me. There were five of us, but we felt a little cramped at the square table. Should I have written that I would like a round table when making a reservation in the future? But it was very delicious and very satisfying.

Food is completely fine, but to be honest it's not a revolution in taste if you've ever eaten more than take-away Chinese. Prices are extremely ambitious, even considering the location. 18€ for fried noodles with chicken. 16€ for fried noodles - if you request a change to "with tofu" you will be charged an extra 5€. I.e. fried noodles with tofu €21. More expensive than chicken or beef. Doesn't make any sense in terms of the ingredients or the additional effort.

The food was very tasty, the service was very friendly and quick. A unique experience to eat there!

Our visit to this institution was a disappointment. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait almost 30 minutes for a table. We waited another 30 minutes for our drinks. 60 minutes for the starter, a cold soup. Everything tastes convincing. To ensure that the store is always full in two seatings, it should be a well-oiled machine. The service did not take place that evening. There was enough staff, but unfortunately not the right one. No communication with the guest. No additional sales. There was a tray of empty glasses on EVERY table around us. This means 5x empty and duplicate paths. As a result, the boss loses thousands of euros in sales every evening. What a shame!

We have been guests several times and last time we had a reservation for 10 people. The reservation was not found and had to be shown via email. We arrived in groups 5 minutes apart. The hosts reported independently that the greeting from the restaurant manager at the entrance was perceived as cold and unfriendly. There was no “Hello” or anything like that. During the meal, side dishes were sorted 20 minutes late, so that the main courses were already cold. When we asked why this was the case when paying, we were told that the restaurant was so busy and the staff was simply overworked. All in all, this visit is a reason for us not to be guests there again in the future.

We had a reservation for 2 people, including my 3year old son. The waiter couldn't even arrange a seat for the child or offer a larger table. On top of that, the waiter's attitude was terrible! In the end, he even asked for a service fee! Who gave you the courage to ask for tips! Disgraceful service. Who gave you the courage to ask for a tip? Liang Jingru? What a shame!

Very long waiting times, the food from menu 300 came in the wrong order and was only lukewarm. Unfortunately, I had stomach problems all night and since I only ate here that day, it must have happened :/ It can happen, but it still doesn't feel nice. Dad ambience is nice, but now worn out. About 20 years ago, this restaurant was really, really good. Price and performance were absolutely right! I was there today and was horrified. The baked wontons were sheets of dough folded into a triangle - which cost around €2 for 100 frozen sheets when purchased in an Asian supermarket. Only a microscopic trace of a filling and very, very old oil tasting. In every Chinese restaurant these baked wontons cost a maximum of 6 euros, here over 10! The pork belly in star anise and sake sauce was ok. However, I was missing the pinch of cinnamon and the "tofu knot" was superfluous like a crop and tasted like the unpleasant smell in some Asian supermarkets. And the whole thing for 22 euros! The waiter was confused and it was so cold at my assigned seat that I had to eat my not-so-great meal in my coat. I felt like I was in a train station where I could probably have eaten better and, above all, more cheaply. I am very disappointed!

The food at the Dim Sum House was absolutely fantastic – fresh, authentic and very tasty. The dim sum in particular was a highlight. I tried a few different ones and was very happy with them all. I found the wonton soup very tasty and warming despite the uncomfortable weather outside. I could have eaten more as the dim sum portions are rather small. But because I wanted to continue, I decided against it. Unfortunately the service left something to be desired. As a single guest, I didn't feel completely welcome, which somewhat spoiled the otherwise positive impression.

We have been going there regularly for years. Unfortunately, the restaurant disappoints us more and more. The dishes still taste very tasty, but the portions are increasingly smaller and served carelessly. The new staff is unfriendly and moody. Because of the poor service, people are simply no longer willing to pay so much money for food - now that's €30-40 per person. This was probably our last visit to Dim Sum.

The starter, Dim Sum, was very small and had hardly any taste. They were watery inside and tasted mainly of fat. Overall, they didn't make a fresh impression. Unfortunately, the main courses couldn't improve the impression. They were completely tasteless - as if frozen food had been heated up quickly. In addition, the dishes arrived in a very uncoordinated manner. Three of us had almost finished our meal when the last person was finally served their main course. Overall, the quality of the food did not correspond to the high price charged for the dishes (10€ for 4 small dim sum, 20€ per main course). You have to keep in mind that these are still the “cheaper” main courses. We had hoped for a lot more due to the good reputation, which is why this was definitely our last visit.

We always really liked it here. On our last visit, the food arrived lukewarm and quickly became cold and therefore no longer edible. Peking duck is certainly the restaurant's flagship dish. Absolutely delicious, but unfortunately half a duck isn't enough for me. And another main course would be too much. The real hit is the dim sum, which enchants me every time I visit. Great variety, fantastic taste.

Traditional ambience with a very good dim sum selection.

If you want very good Chinese food in Hamburg, this is definitely the perfect place for you. I can't say whether it's authentic, but I've heard that Chinese people who live in HH like to eat there. Always happy again.

We had already read that the Peking duck was good, but we didn't believe that it tasted so fantastic until we ate it! We were incredibly overwhelmed by the perfect nuance of crisp skin and tender meat and such an ingenious sauce. We were very carefully explained how to best eat the duck and this visit was a complete success! We'll definitely be back and are really looking forward to it! We would also like to thank you very much for the great dessert, we all wanted it but no one really dared to order anything. The nice gentleman simply brought us a small portion of each of four dishes and we were able to share perfectly and try everything. Thank you for the great evening.

Excellent dim sum and main dishes, love all of them. Revisited again in December, there are not enough servers to go around the floor. Waited really long to place orders.

We were at the Christmas party with 22 people and we left the restaurant very satisfied. Except for one waiter, the staff had a lot of fun (but we all have bad days). Almost everyone was happy with the food, if not it was because they had a different idea of ​​it. For billing purposes, we recorded the consumption (over €1000) and did the billing afterwards, everything was correct. (Top location, fair prices and good service) We can recommend the restaurant to everyone.

Our expectations were very high because we waited 2 days for a table. Unfortunately, on Sunday evening at 6 p.m. we were seated at a large table with two strangers. Although some tables were empty. We had to sit in a dark corner. The person who made the reservation for us on Saturday evening and the waitress who welcomed us on Sunday and brought us to the table were anything but friendly, as we know from Asian culture. The food was served very quickly but was anything but tasty and we noticed the warm water glass very negatively. We read about your restaurant beforehand and are really shocked that it should be one of the top 5 in Hamburg.

My last visit here was two years ago. I noticed that the prices have gone up significantly and I think the portions are smaller. The service was OK, but could have been better for a high-priced Chinese restaurant.

Very nice restaurant, relaxed atmosphere and great service. Very good knowledge of the dishes and therefore a trustworthy source for recommendations. The Peking duck was fantastic, the best duck I've ever eaten so far. We were surprised with the dessert and it was a very good decision. There was a small selection, one better than the other. We had made a reservation and after we were brought to the table, no one came to take our orders. After waiting for 25 minutes, we spoke to a waitress. We were really looking forward to the evening, but we were disappointed with the food. Normal standard Chinese with high prices. Price performance doesn't fit. The service staff seemed stressed and were not particularly friendly. We won't be coming back again.

The three of us ate there in the evening and were very disappointed! It took a long time until we received the menus, and then we had to wait a long time before we could place our order. After an eternity we got our drinks: Spezi which was warm, apple spritzer which was barely cooler and a tea which was hot (oh wonder). Then all three of the soups also came lukewarm. The various dim sums we ordered looked like they had been kept warm for longer. Unfortunately, we didn't have the opportunity to tell the service anything because they barely understood us. CONCLUSION: Mega disappointing with a bill of €198 for three people

For me it's still the best dim sum house in Hamburg. I love these delicious dim sums. Of course everything is a bit more expensive there, but you get the best dim sums in Hamburg. We've already tried a few restaurants, but this is it by far the best... And the grumbling of some people here is annoying... Then just don't go there at peak times, then you'll get good service. The people there work under constant stress and that's unfortunately due to the owners !!!!! We go there regularly (once a month) and have never had any problems, neither with the food nor with the staff.

Unfortunately, the most disappointing restaurant visit in a very long time! We were really looking forward to the famous duck, which we ordered after the first 20 minutes of waiting, along with starters. Another 25 minutes later the bottle of water we ordered arrived, so that after 45 minutes we at least had something to drink. Then the starters came one after the other at intervals of about 30 minutes. After more than two hours in the restaurant we had enough and paid and left, unfortunately without ever seeing the duck. Luckily for our neighboring tables, who ordered much later, they got their duck earlier. It's a shame to leave a restaurant hungry. Never again for us.

The much-hyped DimSum house doesn't live up to the hype. Ambiance is very simple and the tables for two are very close together. The staff is not Nordic cool, but very monosyllabic, urgent and only with squat smiles. Price-performance ratio is not right. Canton duck for 34 euros only with a side of rice. This is available in many other Chinese restaurants from 18 euros including side dishes (rice + vegetables). The duck was on the bone, which is fine, but very fatty and with cartilage, so it easily had 1/3 of it inedible.

The restaurant was full and the air was bad. The service had to be reminded several times. The rice was overcooked.

I haven't eaten so badly in a long time. A can of ravioli would have tasted better. The duck was totally dry. The jelly-like sauce is almost tasteless with three raw pieces of pepper. We were really looking forward to the meal and in the end we were more than disappointed! Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not right here at all.

Food was pretty good, the portion (esp. for the Dim Sum) couldve been mentioned. The Service was super slow, eventhough the resteraunt wasnt packed. we waited to be asked for drinks for arround 20 mins and then additional 20 mins to get said drinks. That was the motto of the evening. Waiting for the receipt after we waited to pay and so on. It realy took away from how good the food was.

The store really wasn't full and I left after being completely ignored for 30 minutes. The service staff were busy with some disputes and washing up. There was also something wrong with the heating, the air was cutting and it felt like it was 40 degrees. It's a shame, I was really looking forward to the Peking duck.

The food is OK. The staff is not good at all, especially the younger Asian staff.

The food was lukewarm, the service was unfortunately unfriendly, and the portions were rather small. There were three of us there, but the dishes arrived 10 minutes apart - the first one was already finished when the last one was served his meal. That was overall disappointing.

The main course took a very long time, and the fourth one came about 15 minutes after the others. There isn't even a Campari and the wine selection is underground!!! And in the end there was about €100 too much on the bill... After 60 years, that should actually work better!

The food was ok, the place was packed on a friday night. Service was good. If u like spicy better tell them ahead. Peking duck was better in shanghai 😕

Service was catastrophic, we were deliberately ignored. I have never experienced anything like this before. I understand the current problems in the catering industry, but if there are no more serving staff on the market, please close your restaurant and spare humanity with your service

Based on "the lion's den" and other advertising, we ordered a table. It should be Peking duck, the original. Pure disappointment. A duck, pancakes, sauce and vegetables. That's it. The whole thing in cold!! Just like the rest of the store. Problem with the heating. We have eaten Peking duck several times. But that was far from that. 78€ for 2 people. Actually, such a dish is celebrated...but here it is simply served. Not recommended We had bihun soup to warm up. It was great. There are certainly better offers on the menu. The highly praised duck...better not!!!

Due to the advertising of “Höhle der Löwen” and other recommendations, we reserved a table. The restaurant was very cold. Other guests complained with us. We order the legendary Peking duck. This arrived within 10 minutes, drinks weren't there yet. The helpful answer came from the service: "It's quick here, we sell hundreds a day!" Result.. Cold duck, pancakes and a few vegetables. We have enjoyed Peking duck many times. These were celebrated!!! Serving is served in the Dim Sum House. Conclusion. 78€ for cold and slapped duck is not worth it. I can't recommend this. It's better to look for a restaurant that celebrates this delicious duck lukewarm when ordered in advance and with real passion. There's probably another LION involved in the sales. Very unfortunate...
