DOS LUNAS - Der Wein- und Biergarten in Minden

Today it was that time again... we were really in the mood for hearty German country inn cuisine... and... we weren't disappointed. Great food and... with homemade Rösti, plus the legendary red Alster, very good service, crowned with a delicious apricot... simply a really great evening. What more could you wish for?

4 stars – Very good food with little room for improvement I had a rump steak in the Kaisersaal in Minden that was cooked to perfection - with crispy, fresh fries and aromatic root vegetables. A salad was served as a side dish. The service was consistently friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was inviting and stylish - you feel comfortable here. A small tip for improvement: The salad was a little too cold, which meant that the flavors didn't come into their own and the eating experience was slightly impaired by the strong contrast in temperature to the main course. The root vegetables tasted very good, but could have been cut a little more delicately to make the mouthfeel even more pleasant. Overall, a great experience with good cuisine – I would love to come back! 😊

Today I ordered the Oldenburg kale menu. The potatoes were not cooked through and were warmed up again. The kale doesn't deserve a star either. It was pig feed. Anyone who writes here "the food was generally delicious" must be suffering from a loss of taste. The schnitzels that were on display were bent from drying out, they were probably days old. Me: Never again unreasonable

Unfortunately, I read a newspaper report that jobs are to be cut "due to the consumption and purchasing behavior of customers." The coffee (other products aside) that you produce is simply too bitter and that is the only reason! All of it, except for the Bella intense etc. series. It is inedible! You can't taste any "flavors" like you can with your competitors. 0!! Believe me, we consumers discussed this with me (total strangers met in Tchibo & in front of Kofi) when a barb in the form of a comment rained down in your direction (written to the employees) & they all agreed with me. A heated & excited and stunned discussion broke out about why the bitterness is found in most varieties. We - Minden residents - would of course like to support our neighborhood & the companies based there & thus their employees & families, but we expect something useful in return. We actually prefer to buy from small roasters/producers at a sometimes much higher price and drink less instead of spending money on something inedible. - This is the basic tenor of everyone involved!!! - It's a shame that the employees & their families have to suffer just because those responsible are apparently unable to change anything about the quality or the concept of the coffee on offer. As a coffee lover, I can assure you that even I know that this bitterness is due to the roasting process. Possibly too hot/too long. I don't know anyone (& I know lots) who buys Melitta coffee! Absolutely no one!!!! That used to be different! And yes, coffee etc. has become more expensive, like many other things, so you should pay more attention to the quality (&/or the concept coffee, e.g. limited edition/special flavor etc.) and adapt to the market instead of cutting back. Otherwise, you will be ruined. Maybe start with the obvious & it's easy to implement, GET THE BITTER OUT OF THE COFFEE! Then your sales will skyrocket again. A company based in the Minden-Lübbecke district (the board) had cut their own (management) salaries for a certain foreseeable period of time in 2007-2010 in order to avoid having to lay off ANYONE in order to secure all jobs. Perhaps you are willing to do this (all of the content listed here). 50 jobs can be saved through these changes!!!
