The ambiance is very nice. The service is good. The food, well... When I order drinks and food on-site, I expect dishes, not plastic cups. :( And yet, they advertise it so much. The matcha strawberry was a total flop—too bitter and with no hint of strawberry flavor—a real shame... I won't be coming back.

I didn't like the chicken. It wasn't fresh. But the salad was tasty.

Unfortunately, the food took forever to arrive on our last visit (around 50 minutes), and in my opinion, the quality was really poor, making it very bad value for money. At over €20 for a bowl plus a bottle of water, I expected more. While the service was genuinely friendly and attentive, it couldn't salvage the overall experience.

I always enjoy the food at Dean & David, but at this branch, I was struck by the exceptionally friendly staff. Keep it up!

Great shop in Dortmund city center! I discovered it by chance, as it's slightly hidden on a side street near the shopping center. The selection of healthy, vegan, and vegetarian dishes is diverse and truly delicious. I'd especially like to highlight the super-friendly staff – their advice was excellent, and thanks to a recommendation from one of the employees, we even tried matcha. To be honest, I wouldn't have dared to try something like that 👍, but it was great and I'll be ordering it more often now, optionally with mango or strawberry. My kids really enjoyed the homemade lemonade. In addition to the savory dishes, they also serve coffee and cake, so there's really something for everyone. Everything is clean, cozy, and inviting. Highly recommended for anyone who values ​​a healthy diet!

We've been looking forward to the Herbert Grönemeyer concert here at the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund for months. Beforehand, we took a stroll through the city and spontaneously stopped here for a bowl. I found the dish very appealing and the price completely fair. The staff was friendly, and we didn't have to wait long for our food. We'd be happy to come back.

Unfortunately, a disappointment. The dishes lacked flavor. They were simply nicely presented. They lacked any flavor. The chef still has a lot to learn here. The chicken weighed a maximum of 30 grams. It looked as if they had collected the leftovers from several packages and briefly fried them. The largest piece of chicken was the size of a 2-euro coin. My partner's dish had the same sauce but with pumpkin, even though they were two different dishes. A currywurst would have made us happier. The anticipation was great, but the result was a disappointment!

I ordered a takeaway sandwich and paid with a card. As I was leaving, I noticed there was a long hair in it. I wanted to exchange it for another one, but the employees (who both speak very poor German) said that the sandwiches weren't new; my colleague had made them yesterday, so they couldn't give me a new one. I'm very confused as to why they even sold it to me? At least I got my money back in cash. I won't eat there or order from there again, as I don't see the point in paying €5 for a sandwich that's been sitting on the counter for two days.

I've just deleted my review from a year ago. The service has improved significantly. The old team seems to be back now, even though they were missing for a while. Everything was perfect again: delicious food, good value for money, and a lovely atmosphere. I'd be happy to come back.

We've been there several times, and it's never been entirely smooth. But this was the icing on the cake, and we won't be going back to the place: this time it's about the hot wrap as part of the meal for €16.95. At the table, I noticed that the wrap didn't come with any sauce. I then went to the counter to get some sauce at all. We had to do the same with the salad, which didn't have a single drop of dressing. Back at the table, I opened the wrap. The contents were actually just rice. In each half of the wrap was one (!) small cocktail tomato, one (!) thin slice of cucumber, two (!) barely visible strands of red cabbage, and two (!) tiny leaves of spinach. Otherwise, just rice and four small pieces of meat. So I went back to the front to complain about the meal and was told that was correct; it was what the boss prescribed. After my incredulous look and repeated questions about whether they were serious about selling a pile of rice for that price, even though a wrap would contain a decent amount of ingredients, I asked to speak to the manager. I wanted to hear from him himself that he makes his money by reducing ingredients that are actually quite cheap to buy in a dish to such an extent that they're no longer worth mentioning. I didn't get to speak to him, but a waitress spoke to him on the phone, although not in German, so I can't say what was said. After the phone call, they only paid me €11.95. So I paid €5 (!) for the small bottle of Coke. I didn't feel like arguing with these people again; I just wanted to get out of the store. One more quick sentence for everyone to think about: why didn't they just shove a few fresh ingredients into my wrap after I complained? Then I would have had a reasonably decent meal. But no, they just threw everything in the trash. Great concept, dear Dean & David. Very environmentally conscious. (Irony off).

This place is an absolute disgrace. I stop by on a Friday lunchtime around 1 p.m. As a regular customer, I'm very hungry and want to enjoy my rice bowl. I go to the checkout - a man in his mid-40s greets me. I place my order and am immediately greeted with "Double Up?" No. No, I don't want an extra avocado either. No dessert, and none of the overpriced smoothies either. After about a 10-minute wait, I enjoyed my bowl, which keeps getting more and more expensive. Bowl cold again, 20 grams of meat, otherwise just the usual junk thrown on top as decoration. The drinks fridge was simply off when it was 33 degrees outside?! All the drinks were simply warm! Everything is overpriced and not recommended. The inside is great for sitting, though. After years as a regular D&D customer, both online and in person, I will no longer order from or visit this branch. ``` It's a shame about the friendly staff on site, with whom I've become friends and gotten along well. With disappointed and never-to-be-returned regards!

Ordered via Wolt: The store simply packed a different item in the bag than what was ordered. I ordered an olive and feta cheese flatbread, but what was delivered was a sandwich with grilled vegetables and mozzarella. The kind of thing nobody here eats. If I order something, then that's what I want to get delivered, and not something else. It seems like this isn't an isolated incident! Sad... an absolute no-go and I wouldn't recommend it!

Absolutely not recommended. Especially not for delivery orders. Every time, something is no longer available or can be prepared. To make matters worse, the employees are too incompetent to simply refuse the order and even accept it, so the customer has to cancel the delivery service themselves because the drivers keep calling them, and then they even pay for it "out of fairness to the restaurant and the drivers." No food, terrible service, and then they have to pay for it. Thanks for nothing!

It took a very long time for the bowls (2) to be ready (35 minutes). The service was a bit annoyed/stressed. (Probably because there were only two employees at lunchtime?!) The food was okay, but the price/performance ratio wasn't right for me. The bowl wasn't as described; for example, the broccoli wasn't fried and was therefore cold, watery, and hard. The muffin was unfortunately way too sweet. Maybe we just picked the wrong day, but it was a shame.

We were here for the first time today and we are thrilled. The ambience is nice. The restaurant is comfortably furnished and there is plenty of space. There was a large selection of curries, bowls and salads. As vegans we also had a good selection. The dishes tasted very tasty. And the prices are good. We were very satisfied and would like to come back. So I can recommend the store 👍🏽

Absolute impudence! I wanted to use the NeoTaste app to redeem the “2 for 1 bowl / salad / curry” deal that I had previously successfully booked. On site I was suddenly told that a maximum of three NeoTaste deals can be redeemed per day - an internal rule from the boss, which is nowhere in the app! This is not only extremely dubious, but borders on fraud. Why are deals offered if you can't use them? The waitress couldn't or wouldn't do anything and simply told me to complain online. That's not how you treat customers!

Disappointing experience. Very unfriendly staff, long waiting times despite the empty restaurant and then small portions (smaller than in the pictures). When this was mentioned to the employee, she was just sent away in an unfriendly manner, with the comment that it was always like that and that she didn't decide that either. Top quality, fair price & great service! I always enjoy going to dean&david. The dishes are fresh, tasty and absolutely fair in price. The app is particularly practical – it makes it easy to pre-order and saves time. The restaurant is modernly furnished, offers plenty of seating and has a relaxed atmosphere. The central location is also a big plus. The service is also impressive: I once forgot my headphones there and received an immediate response to my email despite the store being closed. I was able to pick it up the next day without any problem. I particularly like the variety on the menu – there are not only fresh bowls and salads, but also many vegan and vegetarian options. Everyone will find something here! Clear recommendation!

We had ordered food well in advance. When we came in it wasn't ready yet. When everything was there, my curry was not there. This could not be made, but that was not passed on at all. When I said I wanted a wrap, that was not possible because it would take "too long".

The food was OK. The ambience is nice. Unfortunately the service is not good. We waited 45 minutes for 2 wraps and one scrambled egg, even though only 5 of the 20 tables were occupied. We would therefore not recommend the restaurant and would not visit it again.

Really a real disappointment. Tried the vegan falafel bowl and the sandwich with the sweet potato chunks. The sandwich was ice cold and hardly any toppings and the bowl was dry and without sauce (although there was supposed to be teriyaki sauce). The prices are a disgrace for this quality.

We ordered a surprise bag through “too god to go”. We support the idea of ​​buying leftover food cheaper rather than throwing it away. D&D obviously didn't understand the principle. Our “salad” consisted of wilted green lettuce leaves, 5 shriveled halves of cocktail tomatoes, 4 halves of small dried “potatoes”, a few peanuts, edamame and dry carrot sticks. For €4.80 (!) - inedible. D&D has made disposal easy. We took that over.

For this meal I chose the dean & david. Here you order directly at the counter, pay and you are given a pager. You take this with you to the table and it vibrates as soon as the food has been prepared and you can pick up the food at the counter. You can also eat alone here, the atmosphere is pleasant and the toilet facilities are also OK. I chose a tasty vegan bowl. Both vegans and vegetarians will find what they are looking for here, including when it comes to desserts. After eating, you can place the tray with dishes in a niche provided for this purpose. Conclusion: great, for a quick bite in between. Since there is no service, I cannot rate it.

Ate there for the first time today, July 24th, 2024 at around 2:45 p.m. The employee (male around 18-21 years old) at the checkout definitely needs further training or should look for something else. This guy is a complete disaster. 1) Charged €1.45 too much for a cappuccino, even though the offer outside says €2. If you ask him about it directly, he just answers “I have no idea”. 2) Cappucino, more like coffee with milk, was made with oat milk, even though I didn't want this. After I asked this employee again whether the coffee was made with oat milk, the answer was “no idea”. A look at the fully automatic coffee machine showed me that it was oat milk because the milk tube was still in the oat milk carton. 3) Dean & Davids run an app that you can use to collect points when shopping. This employee probably has no idea that such a thing exists and answers again what? Right, “no idea”. After all, he asked his colleague, quote, “what is that?” and the colleague told me that this store does not support collecting points with the app. Dear management, I can understand that there is currently a staff shortage everywhere and you have to take or hire what you get. But this employee is really a complete disaster. Unfortunately, the only operator on the invoice is operator number 1, so I can't even really complain about this employee. Finally, I would like to rate my “cappucino” and salad in school grades. Paris salad school grades: 2 Cappuccino school grade: 5- Even though the cappuccino currently costs €2 instead of €3.45, the cappuccino is not even worth 50 cents. Terrible Due to my negative experience here, I cannot recommend anyone in my circle to come here.

Hello Dean & David, I have suggestions for you... only take on as many customers as you can deal with. If there is a shortage of staff, a “sorry” is not justified if you have to wait almost an hour for the food. The ambience is great, no question. But the food should also be fresher. The salad tasted stale/musty. The avocado was missing even though I ordered an avocado chicken bowl. There is a huge emphasis on delivery service and customers coming in and going. But the actual customers who eat on site are simply forgotten. Try to take that into account in the future. (Dortmund location) Greetings, your captain.

Unfortunately completely unsuitable for lunch. The employees seem completely overwhelmed by a “normal” lunch rush. It took 45 minutes from order to completion. I only received my food when I asked or complained.

The salmon salad is terrible. Potatoes are raw and scary! asked to change it. They gave me the salad back and said they would finish frying the potatoes. Horror. I don't recommend it!

The pancakes were warmed up 20 minutes after ordering. There was neither coffee nor chocolate sauce for the pancakes.

I find the homemade bowls a bit expensive, but for me they are the best alternative in the city to get something healthy and fresh. Dean & David usually shines with good food and courteous service. Even 20 minutes before closing time, a delicious bowl is usually prepared. But not on June 6, 2024. At exactly 8:25 p.m. the grill was already off. Usually not a problem, as the employees will otherwise turn it on again without any problems. But okay if you don't want to make any money and want to leave customers empty-handed 35 minutes before closing time... There are people who have to be out and about until 8 p.m. If the opening times are no longer worth anything, then Dean & David is no longer worth visiting to me. Never again!

Overall I really like Dean & David Dortmund. The on-site store is clean and nicely decorated. The employees are all warm and make you feel very comfortable. Lately I've been enjoying ordering through UberEats as part of the promotions, otherwise the prices are a bit high. The only point of criticism: Unfortunately, you regularly notice that the dishes are not prepared uniformly. Sometimes the country bread is missing with the salad, sometimes a curry is prepared without edamame, sometimes there is very little or a lot of goat cheese on a salad or another ingredient that should actually be included is missing. That's a bit of a shame. However, the dishes are all very tasty and high quality.

Even in every bakery you can have your own to-go coffee cup filled, sometimes even with a discount - that's not possible at Dean&David! Coffee deal - €2 - according to the employee, all coffee specialties for the price, BUT with a milk substitute - €0.50 more expensive. It's not about the price, but rather the sustainability, which Dean&David are committed to. Kamps is a large chain where you tend to expect less sustainability, but they offer oat milk as a milk substitute for free and you can also use your own to-go cup.....

I had dinner here in the evening. Be careful: on the menu on site it is marked that the carrot cake is vegan, but in the app it is marked that the cake is vegetarian. Otherwise everything was fine so far. It's a shame that the employees seemed so stressed even though it was very empty.

I ordered from Too Good To Go and had the food messed up the same day. A few hours later I had a severe headache and stomach ache. I went into the store with high expectations due to Dean&David's high expectations, but unfortunately they didn't achieve this in terms of taste, decoration, or variety. I am very disappointed and even though I may be an isolated case, I would advise against buying it. I'm very happy that I didn't have to pay full price for this experience. Dean and David ist für mich jedes Mal auf neue das beste Erlebnis, meine Pausen verbringe ich jeden Tag dort. Vom Empfang bis hin zum Geschmack ist es top. Das Personal ist immer gut gelaunt und zuvorkommend. Hier ist für jedermann etwas dabei, vegan, vegetarisch, glutenfrei und vieles mehr, die Gerichte werden frisch zubereitet und aktualisiert.
